Honest question.
Do you think there’s a place for D/D thieves anymore? It’s a setup I’ve always loved since starting this game, and always seem to fall back on it. It generally serves me somewhat well in WvW.
Anyone? ._.
I’m serious in trying this. Would a hybrid build like this not work well?
Is it possible to try a condi build with maruaders trinkets? Primarily using grenade kit, flamethrower kit, or elixir kits.
The extra bit of power could work toward the direct damage on grenades and flamethrower I’d think.
I’d be turning all my armor and probably the weapon over to Viper’s stats. Or whatever is optimal if y’all think something else would work better.
I’m generally a roamer and scout. I think I’l probably go Shiro/Glint just to zoom around and keep my eye on everything I can.8
I’m generally a WvW player, so I thought that extra bit of Vit would be worth it since I won’t be able to dodge everything thrown at me. And time to farm HP for Herald! And make an ascended sword x.x
I need to farm those hero points for Glint…
Having to do that again in the HoT zones is the only bad thing I forsee.
oh god the frogs x.x
Ello you mist-jumping buggers.
I’ve finally opted to level a revenant to get the most use out of my ascended heavy gear, and know jack diddly about Rev builds.
Could any of you kindly give me a rundown on what I should be running for Svaard’s stats? Marauders stats is the other name.
In advance, thanks!
NOW GET BACK IN RANGE OF MY kitten SWORD!
I’ve found that skill and ability to play competently overshadows the elite spec. I still havent bothered to go into Berserker, and I still stomp Reapers, Daredevils, Chronomancers, and most others. Only thing I have a problem with is Dragonhunters and the odd skilled Scrapper
Perhaps redo Revealed Training to instead of increase power by 200, cause you to be “Spotted” instead of revealed? With your definition and idea for Spotted.
I’m running the Juggernaut build I found on Wolfineer’s site.
http://wolfineer.com/thejuggernaut/
I hadn’t thought about the flash shell before, probably because I get a bit short sighted when fighting a thief. Thanks, Tyr!
Ello people of the Engi forums. I’ve run into a kitten annoying problem while playing WvW. Any time a geared D/P thief comes around, it’s just so easy for them to turn me to swiss cheese.
Mainly it’s through just repeated stealths and backstabs, with little in between, sometimes it’s just those annoying permastealth thieves.
Anyone know any little tidbits of information to make burning them alive a bit easier?
Hello all you alchemical ascendants and mechanical masters.
I’ve recently picked up a new Engi alt, at level 40 right now, and would love to know a few tricks and some max level tips for playing it. It’ll likely end up Zerker geared at 80, due to the fact my ascended armor right now is all zerker, so some builds for that would be nice.
So far, I’ve been leveling up my Kits and running around with a mortar, flamethrower, nades, and elixir gun, and it’s kept me going fairly well. Any other leveling ideas or setups?
Thanks sydney!
The reason I want to be a Commander is that I hardly ever see one in our own Borderlands when we need one, due to the fact they’re all at EBG leading the charge. I want to supplement the number of Commanders we have so there can be someone to coordinate back home to avoid losing our big stuff.
To put it bluntly, I worked as a cashier at a Mcdonalds. I can handle the people rather well. Thanks for all the tips too!
Hey guys and gals of the WvW forum!
I’ve taken the first step along my path of helping my server and guildies in the grand battles of WvW. The only problem is that I have no experience as a Commander.
None. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
So, could y’all be as kind as to give me a few tips and general rules of Commanding? If it matters, I main my Warrior in WvW, with the occasional run around on the Thief.
Second question, what stats would be best at max level?
I currently have two Zerker ascended armor pieces, and a Tough/Power/Prec ring.
Hey people. I’m going to level an engi after getting some Ascended medium gear, just so I can have one of each class that uses medium for the most use out of the armor.
What should I run to make leveling as painless and quick as possible?
I’m still quite interested in any ideas for pieces to use for my D/D set.
I can get my hands on some decent stuff eventually.
I should mention, this is going to be WvW/PvE focused.
I never PvP on my Ele. I save that for my Warrior and Thief.
Would replacing the zerker pieces with soldiers work? Just to add some more tough and vit.
Hey people. I just recently decided to gear up my Ele, and have a full set of exotics on her now. I love a quick in and out playstyle, and D/D seems to give that perfectly for me, but there’s an almost non-existant amount of Cele gear for me to acquire outside leveling Jewelcrafting or buying ascended pieces.
Can D/D work with other stats, or is Cele what makes it powerful?
I’m currently using Assassin’s weapons, Valkyrie armor, and Zerker rings/amulet/earrings/back.
Sitting at 250 right now. Spent a lot on armor for a few alts.
The strong point of Shadowshot isn’t the damage, but the utility of it. It’s a completely on demand shadowstep with no cooldown, only an initiative cost.
I’d completely forgotten about that…
ZERKER STATS, HERE I COME BABY!
Hey people. I recently got another Veldrunner armor chest from doing guild missions, making it my second Ascended piece. What are some decent builds to run with the gear to get the most out of it?
If there are any for that stat combo, for that matter.
IGN: Noxara Armaris
Playstyle: PvP, PvE, maybe a bit of WvWvW mixed in.
Server: Henge of Denravi
Experience with Thief: Made my thief back within the first few months of GW2, kinda benched it for eons because I didn’t like the feel. Picked it back up recently, had the luck of getting an Ascended piece soon after, cemented my choice to play. That, and I absolutely love the hit and run, actively fast playstyle.
Okay, question. How do I not get brutally melted by any thief?
Mesmer has jumped into my top 3 classes.
Why didn’t I try this profession earlier? It’s amazing to play
Made the mesmer, did some PvP.
Definately loving this class already.
Thanks, Jenzie!
Anyone else, please chime in!
Hello, Mesmer forum!
I’ve finally decided to roll a Mesmer, mostly because the other classes I play have gotten a bit stale for me. I’ve played Warrior and Thief since around the time GW2 came out, so I’ve got a grip on game mechanics, but I’m completely in the dark on Mesmers as the last time I played one, it was in GW1, in Zaishen pvp.
Could you guys do me a big favor and pass along a few easier leveling builds and PvE set ups? I’d try to blindly feel along the path, but that notion is just a shattered illusion now.
I like it, Solrik.
7/10 only because the name seems a bit off.
My norn’s name is Bjorn Skullslayer
Well, guess I’m gonna just be coping with being less viable than other guardians.
I seriously like the model of Rodgort >.>
I find it hard to see how a cone effect condition removal would be garbage, if you play in a group.
Thank you for the link, Harbinger.
Looks like I’l be shopping for a matching scepter then.
I’l look into getting a Scepter/Torch build then, thank you.
Anyone else have ideas for this? My guild so far has said Sword/Torch is a good setup.
Hello people of the Guardian forums.
I recently acquired Rodgort’s Flame on my guardian, but due to having only made him just two weeks ago, I am a complete noob to the finer tuning of Guardians.
I fully intend to acquire the legendary torch Rodgort, and use it quite a bit (Most likely in WvW, PvE, and maybe PvP), but the problem is I have no idea what kind of build pulls the most out of the Torch off hand.
So, I come to you guys, who are experienced in this form of thing, and ask that someone helps me set up a build to use.
Thanks for any advice or premade builds that come in here!
Thank you for putting up this guide! I recently got back into the game, and decided to roll a Guardian, and this guide has given me plenty of useful information on how to play the class!
If you want to play PvP, it depends on your class. Asura is nice for classes with animations which are easy to evade for example warrior earthshaker.
Big races like norn are good for bunkerguards to get attention and humans fit well with thiefs animations
Norn or Charr in large armor attract all the attention.
And I hate it on my charr
I see charr as less graceful, but they move with the least amount of wasted movement possible, coming from a culture of war.
look at the warrior mace animation. smack, smack, ready for it? SLAM!
There is no way to switch orders. annoying, but its for a reason. Your personal story ties very deeply to which Order you chose, so they dont want you switching because choices as far as 30 levels back can make a difference.
Sylvari. Once you see my Thief.
“See my thief”? you’re doing it wrong.
i’d rather have Samurai style back pieces. i doubt much clipping would be there, with the exception of a few armor styles.
Technically, Rurik lost Sohothin in the shiverpeaks anyway, when the Stone summit dwarves dropped an avalanche on him. So Rytlock would have dug it up in the shiverpeaks not Ascalon.
actually, Rurik was still using it in the ring of fire islands. when you fight him, if i remember correctly, hes fighting with Sohothin in grasp. Rytlock must have gotten it from there.
Rytlock Brimstone. he is poetry in motion, if poetry could stab you with a FLAMING SWORD OF DEATH!
there is. At level 80, there is an exotic armor set for tokens from CM explorable. it goes for the whole krytan theme, but i dont personally like it on charr.
i find all the little dialogue i find in the world to be funny. go to Meatoberfest and walk around for a while, you will crack up a little.
Thank you so far, and i should add i plan to keep at least one of my setups with a sword, because of my FDS from the hall of monuments ^.^ its just too amazing NOT to use.
Hi all you conniving, backstabbing, pocket picking thieves.
I’ve always been a fan of the rogue/assassin archetype in games, and still so in GW2. I made my thief about 3 or 4 days ago, and its level 11 now, so i dont know much in terms of general thievery, so i’ve come to the masters of the shadows, so i may learn.
Im currently running sword/pistol and shortbow, but i like the d/d skills so i may go with that later on.
Without any further delay, please, post away!
pfft. Sea of Sorrows? know what that spells? SoS!
