So, now it’s one week Fractal of the Mists has been released and I already noticed many problems in party playing which make me really feel disappointed when I have to group with friends.

If you want to play in this dungeon with your guild mates it’s hard to find 4 people with your same level. So you need to force other 4 players to waste time helping you in your level or you need to play with PUGs.
Every time I’ve try to play this dungeon with PUGs (and it’s really hard even to search for PUGs of the same level) it was a total waste of time too. Someone disconnects before completing 3 fractals, or they were totally unable to coordinate without a voice chat (swamp fractal, dredge fractal…), or they were bad equipped, etc…
When you’re willing to help your guild mates playing at lower levels difficulty always someone disconnects and can’t rejoin the party, making both parts wasting time again.
If in your guild you have (in example) seven people of the same level you don’t know who to leave outside the party, and you are forced to choose… This two people left alone already know they have to play with PUGs (if they manage to find them), or the other five players have to repeat the same level again to help them.
Don’t tell me you can help other players with your second or third character cause the items dropped in the chests are account-bound so there’s no reason at all to level in this dungeon with different characters (apart masochism).
Cause I suppose normal people play 2-3 hours a day of course they will want to spend this time in their level instead of repeating lower levels again and again to help other players one by one ending in get everyone stuck and never progress.
I mean… in few weeks it will be extremely difficult to find even PUGs for odd numbers levels cause everyone will want at list to get the daily chest, and you don’t get it in odd number levels.
And trust me, these fractals are really nice, but if you are playing them again and again you’ll get bored cause they are always the same 8, so your only reason will be the loot. In the end people will search for parties to play level 10 and level 20 for the daily chests. Maybe when they’ll get their ascended rings they will stop to play there at all. So why will you spend your time for lower levels if you could do something else? It’s really time consuming and you only get less tokens, less drops, and in odd levels even no daily chest.
It’s already really really difficult to organize for the guild some parties for normal dungeons story mode cause no one feel motivated to re-play them again… I can’t imagine how hard it will be to prepare parties for all these fractals levels.
I’ve already friends who were left behind complaining, and I totally understand their frustration.
This dungeon has a nice playing style, but the level design in my opinion is a total fail.
You only need to grind and grind more… And it totally discourages friend to help and playing together. Was this the original philosophy of the game? I don’t think so.

Clearly you wrote this topic with the only purpose to brag.
What do you expect people to answer? “GG! You are such a pro player doing this fractal in 10 minutes!”?

Instead I cross my fingers not to find this fractal again and luckly I got to level 4 (and played level 2 three times) without entering swamp fractal again.

I think this dungeon doesn’t promote cooperation within players. Like someone already said I can’t imagine how much time will it takes to gearing up all the guild members and friends. You want to progress but you will have to step back and help other players to progress too. Finally you’ll get stuck, or you’ll play with grinding-PUGs… Or you are really lucky and keep playing through levels with the same 5-people team, which it’s a way of discrimination cause I want to feel free to enjoy all the content with all my friends…
Trust me, I love this dungeon, every fractal is amazing, I think you worked really hard on this but… wasn’t Guild Wars philosopy to promote aggregation?

When I entered Honor of the Waves for my first time I had a sudden idea! And my bear name became “I Wanna Be A Kodan” :D

I was hoping for an alternative spot for farming cause I’m so bored of Cursed Shore. I dislike the scenery and the undead too…
Now I love the new scenario, it’s a lot more colorful, and I like the mobs too but… It seems impossible to farm in this map! Few events very far away… Veteran mobs drop junk (I got a lot of green items with my MF armor in Orr)… Even no skill points or vistas around. Gathering? I thought there were cool new resources but I kept finding only mithril… I had to run the entire map for 2 orichalcum rocks, and you don’t need karka shells if you don’t have to craft apothecary items.
It seems an empty place although it’s a nice scenary.
Maybe you have to put a new Champion of the Dragons to spawn there every 3 hours or so, so people could come hoping to drop a legendary precursor at least…

With my guild-mates, we were all in voice-chat, it took 1 hour… We were so nervous and frustrated I can’t describe it.
Finally we literally memorized all the traps spots (the locations are always the same). We traited for speed, buff the team with ranger warhorn if we could… Sometimes we just dropped the wisps in order to change the spawn spots if they were too far.
We were seriously leaving this fractals, cause it was so late in the night, when finally we manage to coordinate and put those wisps (maybe Dwayna was blessing us :P).
Not fun at all… The time is really too short. Did they tested it?! You can’t even see the traps!

Me and my team ran 6 fractals in a row.
With the first 3 we got 15 tokens.
Then we got 15 tokens for the second group of three fractals (it’s 5 tokens for fractal).
Finally we reached the seventh fractal, the boss instance.
In chest which spawned after killing him I found no tokens (only green and gold items), and I got no tokens from the chest daily-similar on the right too (I found 2 bags of gold for a total of 4 silvers or so).
My mates instead got 60-85 total tokens (15 in the chest and someone 20+20 even in the daily-like reward). I ended up with 30 total tokens.
What happened? Is it bad luck? Was my reward bugged? A really sad end of the dungeon for me. The fractals were so nice… But I got less than half of the tokens!

Do you know what’s the problem? You promised us some major adjustments on ranger one month ago. If you knew you have no time just don’t promise nothing! People was full of expectations. If you didn’t said nothing we weren’t all waiting anxiously, hoping in something good. Now it’s obvious all the people is disappointed.

22 days since John Peters told us to wait for a big fix of the ranger… And that is all? It changes nothing at all!

Warhorn! I’m swiftness-buff-addicted while running through Orr and other maps. I like torch too for my condition build…
I played with dagger only to unlock its skills… now it’s two months it’s sleeping in my inventory!

Awwww thank you! Finally I’ve understood this quote cause I’m not english and it’s a bit difficult to me to understand what’s not written. I was sure on “here they are” but the first part wasn’t clear… Such a nice quote! :D I love my ranger even more now :P

I still wonder how people can say they run CoE in 30 minutes. I have a really good guild team but we run Teleport Path in 1 hour. You need 30 total minutes only to kill Alpha 3 times… So please tell me how could you run all the dungeon in 30 minutes. Different path? O_o

Well 30 mins is about as fast as it can possibly be done with very high dmg and nothing going wrong and the submarine path can be done a bit faster than the teleporter, the fastest run I have ever had was on the submarine path and took 30+ mins. If I manage to do any of the paths in 40-50 mins I would say that it was a very good run and if I do them in about an hour it is not a bad run either.

Oh ok, 50 minutes it’s more similar to my experience. I’ve to try Potions of Undead Slaying on all the team members to maximize damage on Alpha and I’ll try submarine path instead of teleporter for farming

Don’t forget to eat Omniberries Bar (2.3 silvers at TP) when running AC (I suggest path 2, the easiest). You get 40% more gold from mobs (and +30% magic find!)… As you drop 25 silvers from mobs you gain 10 more silvers under this buff! You can get 1 gold or so per run (under 30 minute with a nice team).

I listened to some suggestions I read here in the forum and I manage to trigger this event fast, at my first try… I don’t know if I was lucky or what.
I went to Laughing Gull Island and the Champion Risen Captain was there. I ask my guildies to come there and 6 of the arrived. We killed the Risen Captain while some other players in the zone were joining us and then, as I read there, we waited for the Lionguard Ship to arrive (I think we were 10-15 players on the island waiting… I don’t know if it was necessary for the critic number).
It took just 10 minutes, and then the meta-event started. I told to the other guild mates to come, but some of them, who arrived at the end of the meta-event (just before Hydra Queen spawn) didn’t get the achievement. The ones who was there from the beginning of the meta-event instead got the achievement without any problems.
Hope this could help the people trying to get this achievement!

“Enter at your own risk” may refer to the new asura gate (it is mentioned on the poster’s translation) under construction? Maybe these wood signs mark the spot where we’ll find the gate..!

Really nice runes review!
I crafted/bought my condition armor set some days ago and I had to decide which rune to put on.
I came to your same considerations… and I bought 6 runes of the Undead. I think they are really nice. They are cheap and they seems one of the best choices.
I dislike rune of Nightmare… Condition duration is not really effective on ranger cause our conditions, especially bleeding, last too short to gain improvements from condition duration… I think it’s wiser to go for condition damage!

In our guild there are so many rangers that sometimes we run dungeons with 3 or even 4 rangers! And we had no problem at all…

I’m so excited about this new event. Did you see there are some wood signs on the shore near the whales? I’d like to know what’s written on them. There’s a monster (like a big crab) chasing a little man running away.
I think they are promosing us big vacations in a paradise place and then we’ll find out there’s a big monster waiting for us!
