I’d like to see a Lupi who doesn’t reset after a wipe. Like, if your group isn’t able to dodge at phase two, make him start with phase two. And so one. It’s easier to learn and less tedious. I’m not the guy willing to solo Lupi.
Normally I don’t skip. A few trash mobs don’t hurt so much depending on your group. Then we have Arah. The long, tedious, boring work run. The Inquest Powersuit is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in a MMO. This is one thing I skip as often as I can. I’d skip a few other events in other dungeons too, if it were possible. Some stuff you can’t do with a PuG and/or newbies without becoming very frustrated. I’d like the dungeons less annoying.
Create a group under the premise of “newcomers welcome”, “no exploits”, “no skipping”. Run dungeon.
You mean:

+lfg for about 1-4 hours; depending on dungeon.
Run dungeon.
I wasted 6 hours today on path 2. Every group failed at Lupi. One or two can’t dodge, die and the whole thing is over. Always low dps and attrition wipe the party. If you need 15 minutes for the first boss, you should just leave. Blocked like 20 people today because of verbal abuse. Usually the PuG claims to know the thing, but at Lupi you know exactly what you’re up against. 20-40 minutes in. I’m in a casual guild, because they’re my friends, but I can’t see them do Arah.
After 2 hours of a dungeon I want anything. But usually you get nothing but repair costs. That’s fun, ANet.
My last PuG needed 20 Minutes to get to phase 2! Bow Thief, Necro, Staff-Guard, Ele and me GS-Mesmer. Two wipes and I left. 2 Hours in the dungeon for nothing.
That sounds really good. Make him less predictable. I’m sure PuGs will be so much more of an “enjoyable experience”. We have this one and only viable method to kill our old friend. It’s sure better to remove that. It keeps things interesting. I’m also sure everyone running with PuGs is looking forward to spend a few more hours per run. I ran with PuGs kicking obvious newbies. It’s not fun. I’d never call Super Alpha or any content easy, ‘cause a content designer might think to make it more interesting. I’m looking forward to spent some dungeon time with my “casual” friends, who took 4 months for an 80, without spoiling their spare time with steep learning curves.
We don’t want rez-rushing, we want wipe-fests? Because it’s much more fun to start from scratch all the time if one makes a mistake. Why bring support, toughness or vitality, if dps is the only thing that counts? Attrition will get you, so there is only one viable way to do it. Ask yourself; is this fun? I’ll answer for you; No, this is NOT fun. Do we want Perma Shadow Form Assassins only again?
Make this AC the hard mode AC. Double the dungeon tokens at the end and bring back the old one. Let defeated players use waypoints after a minute, so the rest of the group doesn’t has to reset the fight to get a chance of success. Or make bosses not reset hp. And remove one-hits, chain-stuns, chain-knockbacks and -downs.
Like most fractals and dungeons. It’s all about dps. Attrition will get you sooner or later. It’s sad, but most of the time; if you don’t kill it fast enough, it will get you.
My guild is super small and only does PvE. We’re 6 or 7 active players. Does this mean we aren’t really supposed to play this stuff? We don’t even have Art of War 1. I guess I dump my guild mates and friends and go find a big guild to do this stuff. This is the social aspect of the game, right? Find “new” friends and do stuff. The more people, the better. You don’t need, or want, to know those people.
I’d skip the bosses too because blue loot isn’t worth the effort. I used to like killing all the mobs, but after you’ve done the dungeon a few times you just want the end reward. It’s usually the only thing worth the time. Most skipping PuGs are terrible, but I want my dungeon armor set this year. Some dungeons already taking so extremely much time if you run it with a low dps group. I don’t want to waste my whole spare time for 60 tokens and a few silver. I have to do a dungeon like 23 times. Today I had to make a group leave a dungeon, because they needed to much time. I had an hour to spare, but we couldn’t do it in time. Bam, 5 people, 1 hour, no reward. Good times.
Waypoints are terrible, that’s so true. It’s not enough that your armor gets damaged, you have to walk a kilometer too. One shoots, Jumping trash and those stupid one-shot-trap-puzzles. After a few hours in a dungeon with your pug, you look at the blue loot and the few Tokens you got. Than you look at the prizes of the stuff at the dungeon vendors and ask yourself; do I really want that? Most of my guild mates and friends do not want to do -some- dungeons anymore, because they are just kind of unfair and unforgiving.
That means, go with PuGs. Today I played CoE 3 for the first time. Subject Alpha. A little dodging, sure, but if your teammates get one-shoted, you can’t do much about it. L2P is nice and stuff, but not everybody can solo such a thing. The Experimental Subject was pure frustration. You die, you walk at least a minute. I don’t want a guild for every single thing in the game. It’s like you need one for PvP, WvW and dungeons next to the guild of your friends, who gave up on that stuff.
I imagine the Devs in a pillow fortress with a “No nubs allowed” sign on it.
Go and look for a Thread called “Will the new update stop skipping?”. There is a nice posting form a Content Designer who pretty much said skipping is a valid way to play the game. Forcing players not to skip isn’t a “viable solution”, which means, skip the trash and get rewards. Players who do not want to skip are a minority. You don’t have to ask a group to skip, you have to ask NOT to skip. Most of the playerbase and the Designers seems to like the way it is now. Either leave the game, adapt or find those few people who don’t want to skip, but will start skipping someday anyway. It’s unlikely going to change.
Doesn’t sound good, but it seems that’s the way it is. I don’t like it either.
You need more tokens for the vendor stuff, so you have to do the dungeon more often. You want the stuff, you want it fast. You can skip it, so you do it. It’s a feature. It’s only a grind if you waste time on trash mobs. It’s meant to be played this way. Try looking for a group wanting not to skip. You have to say that you do NOT want to skip content, because it’s a skiprun by default. It’s the way the game is supposed to be played.
I just spend an hour looking for a group for AC. Doing Kohler without troll. Don’t skip trash. Didn’t found a single player. It’s fun.
I had team members who went afk after they died. Fun times. What are you supposed to do? Watch your team fighting or do something more enjoyable? The dungeons are a bit harder that way, sure, but still doable. It’s just lame for the ones who die.
Please make Mobs never drop aggro. Maybe make rewards bound to time spend in a dungeon.
Grind and skip the hell out of everything or die waiting for a group. I liked the “waiting for a healer” much better than waiting for a group not exploiting or rushing. Most of my dungeon experience is quiting groups who just run through everything. Why is skipping supposed to be more rewarding then doing stuff? This is not fun at all.

I’ve done the solo content 8 times. 8 times world explored, 8 characters waiting for a final push to Zhaitan. Every Crafting discipline on 400. The only things left to do are WvW, Dungeons or wander around aimlessly. I can’t see WvW anymore and to wander around gets old really quick.
Today I “spammed” the mapchat with “lfg ac. no skip”. No group found. Prior to that I was in a group. No “Hi” or anything. The Skelk at the beginning of AC was at 25% before I even got there. I left that group.
I’m slightly frustrated now and intend to only come on for dailies from now on. Skipping is fun.
I always tell people that I don’t want to skip anything. If they agree, I’ll join. Most of the time they run through mobs or skip bosses anyway, so I just leave the group. The players don’t listen, they don’t care. Why should I?
The best example is good ol’ Kohler in AC. They want to skip him or try to exploit him with this troll champion. Leave group, looking for better group.
Why don’t we give those speedrunners everything they want, so they can move on to the next MMO? Insta 80ies, achievement points per klick and make the legendaries drop from every mob.
There are a lot of spots in Orr and Frostgorge Sound. Tons of Bots farming there for months. I had my guild mates report them too, but they still happy farming. Is there a reason in reporting, if nothing happens?
Halloween all over again. No thanks. It’s a chore, not fun. I want to disable this information tab on the right side of the screen. I do not want to do this jumping “puzzle” reflex test or the verbal abuse PvP Arena. I like the less stressful winter activities in other mmo’s more, and, guess what, I’ll do them and stop playing GW2 during this time.
Less stressful = easier? I guess. But please. Stop asking developers to keep nerfing everything that doesnt just fold when we look at it. Its a plague of modern games.
They don’t have to make it easy, I don’t have to play it. And I don’t have to recommend the game to my friends, if I don’t like it. It’s a good game overall, but I still do not like those holiday activities. I don’t like them, I don’t play them. I play to relax, not to prove myself. That’s all I said.

Even with this site I couldn’t find a whole group for low level Fractals. It took me an hour for 2 people. Fractionation of the Community. Good job.
-Died while looking for a healer. Irony.
Up to now I never got a disconnect in our beloved Fractals. I’m still on Level 2 though. Every time someone is leaving. Maybe disconnect, maybe intentional. Guess I’m doing it until I’m through with my Monthlys and then I won’t touch it any time soon.
I’d like to play the dungeon too, but I can’t find a group for level 1. It seems nobody is doing that anymore. No guild, no game. This thing isn’t casual friendly at all.
I deleted my Story letter right away, but now I can’t progress with my story. How am I supposed to know that I have to read it every time I do the same story? What can I do now?
I play Mesmer. In those Zerg Events I get Bronze at best. Usually nothing. It’s AOE or die. Most of the times I can’t even spawn an Illusion before the Mob is dead. Orr is terrible for me, because once an event shows up, the Zerg comes. If I’m lucky I get a few kills before the AOE-Fest starts. I thought I would be nice not to compete with other players in a MMO, but that’s just wrong. The competition works just different.
Solo to 80 as Engineer? How? I tried a lot, but I usually die way to much. Most of the fights I run, dodge and hope the enemy dies before I do. I’d stuck with my story without the help of guild mates. The only thing that gains me at least some progress is the Bomb-Kit and kiting, but it’s no fun too. I’d like to do Dungeons, but even my Guild wants me to play Guardian instead of Engineer. Are there really so few builds that actually work!?
Never heal others, never buff others and never rezz others. That’s how you get Gold. Maybe you lose the Event, but at least you get Gold. Being a Egoist pays off. That’s what Bronze tells us. It’s sad, but that’s how the game teaches us to play.
Guild Members and I have done AC. Voicechat, decent gear, target focus and all of us were using support skills. After way to many wipes, we got it done. It was not fun. It is really sad I can’t bring my casual player friends into that, because it is just way to hard. I thought at least Story Mode would be doable with PuGs, but it isn’t. The game claims to be for casuals, but the difficulty will drive them away for sure.

I don’t use the Staff anymore because of this. The travel costs are getting really high.
