Was that “hypothetical” scenario using sf and fc the actuall server(s) your issue was in? I just have a hard time believing anyone in sf would consider that even remotely necessary.
youre missing the point of what hes saying. chess is a 1v1 game, but a queen vs a pawn is not a balanced 1v1, yet the 2 “teams of pieces” are equally balanced
The ruined city of Arah dungeons light armor exotic skin’s mantle clips with weapons. staffs/great swords go inbetween the mantle and chest piece instead of appearing on the back of the toon, which creates a sort of odd clip with the weapon against the armor. I was just curious if the devs would consider fixing this so the weapon doesn’t go under the armor.
thank you tobias, well I might as well hope. but that being the case I think ill finish off my salvage kit one today (which personally I think is very easy as I run at least 3 dungeons per day)
well can anyone tell me this, I have 4/5 of the completionist thing done, and its the 28th today, will I still be able to finish my last one after daily reset today at 6pm central? oris that when the monthly will reset as well?
my new favorite can befound near the bank in lionsarch.

I don’t think map rotation is the biggest deal, I think its game mode (sorry for getting off topic) but, the thing that makes the pvp in gw2 so much less enjoyable then the perfect gem it was in gw1 is game mode. I mean seriously, you start off with a simple death match for a couple rounds, then comes relic runs, then capture the altar, and for the final match it could be one of 3 different things and the surprise/variety of game modes keeps players interested. please at least give a little feedback as to whether youre going to implement this game changing patch into the game.
and everyone in their right mind would pay more for a max weapon one of which easily obtained from a merchant. guild wars 1 was a cosmetic game. they would pay 100k + xxx amount of ectos for desirable skins.
no, I am interested in the discussion, I was just letting you know I am already aware of the weapon customization. heres the thing I feel you are missing, for a lot of people who used certain builds (monks, uwsc sins/eles/rangers, just to name a few) did not buy weapons purely for their damage, but rather to use for the boosts to enchantments and such. I can guarantee that nearly everyone who bought a weapon for that urpose and then caster modded it would not customize it because the only thing that would do is get rid of their option to sell it later. im not trying to start an argument here, all imsaying is that a large number of players did not choose to customize their weapons, as pve play was widely viable without doing so. and yes I read your entire post.
yes and no. some people would do it purely for the sake of gaining items, although id assume the vast majority of peple who are kittenholes enough to hack and steal in the first place would be kittenholes enough to just destroy it
Wouldnt the hacker just destroy it out of spite?
[/quote]
The hacking part is something that I never thought of, but now that you bring it up makes perfect sense
Items being soul-bound serve one very important purpose, and it has nothing to do with the economy.
It make players feel special:
The appeal of having something that you put time/resources towards is genuinely yours and only yours is too much of a market demand for developers to ignore. :POf course, there are other good reasons.
One small one is the blessed security of knowing that if a hacker got into your account, there would be absolutely no way that —--head could steal those items. These are small ‘bonuses’ if you will, but the main reasoning behind Soulbound items i definately to take them out of the economy, so players can’t buy the best weapons and just trade them around with no downside to any of this at all.
Frans, did you read the entire thing? if you look just below my original post you will see I already stated that
Also, I am aware weapons in gw1 could become bound to you through a specific npc, granting them 20% increased damage in exchange for them to be soulbound to the specific character, but a lot of people did not do this pve wise purely for the sake of being able to sell them at a later time. definitely enough to the point where it made an economic impact based on weapons recirculating, with the addition of new drops being found. My personal opinion is that it would lower the cost of weapons over time as the supply kept increasing. but I would like opinions on whether or not this would have a huge impact on the weapon prices.
So basically I was just wondering how the weapon systems in both games impact the in-game economies. In GW1 weapons could be bought, used, and then resold later when you got bored of the skin. In GW2, unless youre buying purely for the purpose of reselling, they become soul-bound on use and thus cannot be sold. I would really like some opinions on how these 2 options would effect the economies. thank you
Im on sorrows furnace server and this happens to me as well. although it seems to be in specific areas only.
I am not sure if this is something that is just happening to me as I have not heard of anyone else having the problem. Basically if I try to loot a corpse, or loot a chest about half the time it will not allow me to take the copper/silver from it. everything else loots fine, but it can be very annoying when a boss chest has 10 silver sitting in it and I have to just leave it behind (which is what made me decide to make this post).
a disagreement becomes an argument when someone is incapable of just letting another person know your opinion on something, and instead feels the need to constantly attempt to justify it in an aggressive manner. Raving Nighteyes, everyone including rob understands what you are trying to say, and there is no reason to drag it out.
This is an amazing idea, and I agree 100% that they went way too far trying to make the spvp in gw2 casual player friendly. ArenaNet, if you are reading this, please give us some feedback on whether or not you are even considering this. If you are it would be great to do it sooner than later as I feel like it could greatly boost the number of active players that would enjoy this game. I understand that Anets philosophy on gw2 was that in order to make gw1 the perfect game, they had to redo it from scratch. but if the wheel is round and rolls, it works and doesn’t need fixing.
you just transmute them, if theyre soulbound transmute them first to a headpiece without souldbound (white) then transmute to toon of your choice
On sorrows furnace server, the frozen maw event chain has been bugged for 2 days now, scholar brogun is at the dragon totem, but will not initiate the event.
yes necros can easily solo a thief if you play to their strengths. instead of lobbing a bunch of trait points into power/condition damage like most people in this game sem to think is always nessescary (“theres no healer, so dps wins”) if you trait into survivability and put just enough into condition damage, its not hard to outlive a thief/slowly condition him down. its actually a very effective way to pvp as a necro. this is assuming you aren’t one of those people who just spam their skills all at once and get facerolled. you actually need to use your staff controlling effects/boon conversions and such at appropriate times.
