With your lack of knowledge on how Games use mutli-threading I’m willing to bet you and your “tech teams” are the goofs and the source of your problems.

Games do not utilise mutli-threading as per intended – they cheat. They load the main module on one cpu, the sound module on another and so on. Restricting the availability of CPU’s forces them onto the ones remaining and consequently increases their utilisation. This is completely different to say a video rendering process that will fully load all cores.

Wouldn’t surprise me if you were fraps’ing your tests with it set to record at 29fps or something similarly stupid given your mutli-threading claims.

GPU threading LOL.

Its a brave man that throws out the goof challenge on the interweb – there are always people smarter than you (and me) out there.

That still does not explain anomalies like this…

Discounting that there was some flunk here.. There are countless other threads on this board with others users having the same problems. There is even a thread with Anet itself asking for Dxdiags and configs. Countless top of the line system are in that thread. Systems that should have zero issue at nearly all times.

Good info. Consider this a bump. Someone needs to take notice and at least say..

“Hey.. Thanks for the info..”

People keep asking for specs and thread after thread we see medium and high end systems that have issues with large group play. You can have a top of the line system, great specs, correct drivers and everything. The moment you hit WvW or a large event though.. It goes to hell quick. You can drop from 60-80 fps down to 15-20 fps. Some drop in performance is expected, but this is drastic and it it most certainly not 100% related to our hardware.

I have a very similar setup.

Asus Extreme II MB
2.66ghz i7 that is OCed to 3.4ghz
GTX560
12GB of DDR3 (tri channel)

I am running at 1680×1050

System is up to date and I have tried both of the most recent beta drivers. I have a mixture of high and low settings. I turn down post processing effects and shadows. The moment I get around a group of people and the FPS is down to 30. The moment I hit up WvW and the FPS is between 15 and 20.

While my system is not state of the art, it is still a monster compared to most out there. Something is up with this game and how it functions. Often GPUs are not being fully utilized and the system bashed the CPU pretty hard. Performance is one of the biggest disappointments of this title.

For 96 hours straight these cheaters have remained in the game (I just checked this morning before making this). I have used the report function daily on each and everyone of them. I have reached out to Anet through social media and third party forums. Now the official forums are live. Please guys.. This is going to destroy the economy of this game if you do not deal with it. These guys are pulling in cash and karma all day and all night. That is going to affect all of us (gem to gold and gold to gems) if you do not stop them. The mobs can not reach them where they stand (bug) and they are all afk (exploit) they have not moved in days. PLEASE DO SOMETHING!
