I think they need to remove the “Act” function of this event and other events and make all holiday content accessible from the beginning of the event to the end. Making some things only available for one day, or a few days, is kinda lame.

The events being dynamic and flowing with acts is what makes the game different from other titles. If you take that away, you take away some of the games personality.

How exactly did you forget to loot something. Was your inventory full?

Sadly after they nerfed the chests I had little reason to go back, since I had experienced all the events in there.

Got old, had to be put down, makes really good clear drying glue.

I know this is a big storm but, its kinda cute how the media feeds people and they blow the scope of the storm totally out of proportion.

I hope you get an extension.. Just remember this isn’t even a cat 1 anymore. Yes it will flood, yes power will go out.. Its still puny.

I missed it a few times one day. I changed up my strat a bit and I have no missed it since.

In my case I started backing up a bit.. running and jumping at a slight angle. Rarely miss now.

If you are going to be without power for 7-10 days. Missing an achievement in a video game should not even be on your priority list.

I can’t agree with this more strongly. Food, water, shelter, clean up, tending to family and friends…

Worked great until I rebooted my computer. Then GW2 just crashed over and over. Removed the files and everything started working again.

The drop chance for the skins is lower then the crafted items. You can easily tell this if you watch the TP. The crafted items have fallen overnight as more and more hit the TP. The skins (which came from BLT chests) are still rising in cost. Last I checked they were sitting at 43g.

Short story is, there is no best method.

PS there is no server TP, the TP is shared across all servers.

I have over 2,200 candy corn… I doubt there will be a shortage anytime soon.

How long has this game been out now… Make it to 80 in a week you say… -checks calendar- Ok good, thought I slipped through a wormhole or something.

I did it 10 times give or take. Few dyes, one (normal) exotic, two Black Lion Salvage kit, a few harvesting tools. Nothing to write home about.

It is not a common drop from him. People have been farming it non-stop all evening for hours on end. I have seen one shield in that amount of time. Regardless, a large portion that get it will not have a use for it. So the TP price is going to fall into the end of the event, after that it will rebound.

They count like any other town clothing. Do not do it. They will turn into junk.

I did this event with three people. Two lvl 40 and myself as a lvl 80.

This is a group event and it is repeatable. There is very little to moan about here folks.

I pushed out a few times against that same group. The thief went down and immediately logged out. I spent a few minutes running around the map. Nothing really notable is going on. I barely see any reason to come in here at all for the rest of the week.

The maps are just to bloody small when it all boils down. If one side has a crushing advantage and reasonable coordination, then it is over.

I completed it yesterday (few times) and gave it another go just now (5:30 server time) and I still got ToT bags. Does it ever reset so we can have another crack at loot or is it a one time only thing?

I like it. It was hard, it took me many attempts.. Now I have it down to a science (mostly).

This is standard. Been like this for months.

Yes.. Different lvls of passive speed buff, depending on prof/traits.

Also post class, race and if you have passive speed boosts.

People kinda expect to much to be fed directly to them. A few minutes in the game looking at your mail, the clues from your act 1 item and just being observant would lead you to where you want to be. In the end… just play and you will stumble into all kinda fun stuff.

I liked a lot of the kids and their costumes.

The two Quaggan (ghost and pirate)
The two Azura (cannibal and aviator)
The two Human girls (jester and circus/ringmaster)

No it is a separate title/achievement.

Hang out with a mezmer buddy some. Have them gate you up.

There was no reason to change this. As I can do similar things with other classes.

After what I have seen today.. That is the only way I will buy them. No more key purchases from from me.

With the introduction of the new Halloween items inside Black Lion chests I wanted to create a thread dedicated to providing the playerbase with accurate data & determining the % chance of acquiring said skins. If you decide to contribute I must ask “Please only provide factual data & do not exaggerate/inflate numbers” Provided the vast majority of submitted data is correct we can begin to determine the actual % chance a player has of acquiring said skins per chest.

As a additional study, please also report if you loot one of the other new items that have been added recently. Permanent Bank, Permanent Black Lion Trader etc

Unfortunately at this time I cannot contribute personally as I am at work, but feel free to add your own. I will do my best to update daily provided the opportunity arises.

Obviously at this point the Anet post is dated information. The even is live and the chests are working.. but they have around a 1.5% drop rate on anything holiday related. Do not expect to net anything from 50 chests. People have opened 200 and walked away without event related items. Have fun.

This would have been less kitten if other things had been in the chests.

Ok… Some rare weapon skins.

However, here are some consolidation “holiday” prizes + all the normal crap (that no one cares about). If I pulled out a few more salvage kits, some candy corn and maybe some stacks of pumpkin pie (mf buff?) or something? Bunch of lame boosters and tonics (that we have all seen) is what killed this for many.

I hate to use the WoW word here.. but holiday events in WoW gave EVERYONE nice, permanent, fun, items..

Then there was a second tier of slightly more rare items…
Then another tier…
and then a super rare tier (certain items from horseman).

But everyone got cool kitten.

Some of the skins are going for 50g. You do the math.

Step1 Open the TP page
Srep2 Type ‘skin’ into the search box
Step3 Find the skin you want
Step 4 Buy it with gold

I can’t understand all this complaining when the skins themselves are tradeable, and some going for a very reasonable 1-2 g up to a maximum of 25-30 g for the desirable shield and scythe skin.

They ugly/common skins are 6g each.

The rare/nice skins are in the 50g range.

Some people need to learn how statistics work I think. Do you all regularly buy lottery tickets or raffle tickets and then try to get your money back for losing? Seriously grow up.

Since we did not know the odds going into this (unlike lotto tickets or sweepstakes) it makes it impossible for us to have any idea about our chance of winning. Only after we used the keys do we now see the kitteny odds. So now we can all go forward and ignore the crappy keys all together, as they are an obvious scam item.

As far as I am concerned Anet is the Scrooge of Halloween at this point. Maybe you can repeat this obsurdity with every single holiday (I am sure that is your plan). This is a RNG fiasco and totally drained any urge I have to buy keys (or anything else). It was not fun, it was not rewarding and… I may as well be playing a subscription game than dealing with this utter nonsense.

Why don’t you try refunding your lottery tickets at the gas station after you scratch it off and see how well that goes.

What you “expect” or think you “deserve” to get out of the chests is irrelevant. At no point did Anet give any expectations as to the drop rate of the items in the chest, nor did they force you to open any chests.

You made a conscious decision to buy keys, based on whatever preconceived notions you had concerning the drop rate of items, which ultimately ended up being far removed from reality.

It’s your own fault for making assumptions and impulsively acting on it, especially if doing so was outside of what you could reasonably afford.

Finally. Someone intelligent.

I really don’t see what the commotion is all about. It’s chance. It’s not like ANet said you will get new skin per 5 chests you opened.

I have pledged the same thing and I hate to be a kitten, but I think we should all be warning our friends as well.

Fact of the matter is.. The drop rate is to low. They pushed this on us in the patch notes and advertising as if we had a good chance of some fun stuff. The big part of this being “fun” the vast majority that opened chest tonight got nothing at all. They feel cheated and a little betrayed. Most of them will not be repeat key buyers. They have been burned and they will skip further events that orient rewards around chests.

Some people have gotten items.. but as you will notice in the other thread.. The drop rate is insanely low. Your odds of getting something out of even 100 chests to slim at best.

I opened 47 and expected to get “something” related to this event. I got JACK kitten and to be honest I don’t think Anet deserves any of us at customers or fans at this point.

The first thing the patch notes talk about are new items. Which are being dangled in our face and then.. Made impossible to acquire.

I didn’t expect to get much.. but for that chunk of change I did expect to get at least one item out of this. I will just be adding all this other “crap” (cause that’s what 90% of it is) to my bank.. Where it will likely rot forever since it is all account bound.
I have ZERO inclination to buy another key as long as I play this game. That much is certain.

Gotta patch first before you open stuff.
But, others have bad luck too. reported; some 80+ chests and 2 skins in another thread.

Needless to say, I won’t be buying keys for such a lousy rate as all that.

I was patched. I was standing in the crazy new Lion Arch when I opened them all.

So tell your friends people…

I had another friend who opened an additional 50 and got nothing.

Did not get a SINGLE weapon skin.

Save your money.. I feel cheated
