The prices never changed on the GW1 equivalent and they have no reason to change the price of these outside of a few forum whines.

It is kinda to late to be changing costs. Many people have already bought these items.

I think it should have one… but, it should have limitations.

I log into “The Mists” there are 17 other players that are close enough to physically see.

I move to the spvp browser. There are 30 spvp games that are full.

I check my guild tab and there are 32 people online.

I come and make this equally pointless reply to a pointless thread. Since how many people that are online relates to time of day and what day it is. It also matters if you are in an active guild or not.

Bump. Still happens to me sometimes. Just occurred trying to enter the jump puzzle in the eternal battleground.

Exactly the same thing. EB battleground, then enter puzzle and then loading screen until I kill the client.

I’ve been playing MMOs since Asheron’s Call (1999) and I’ve played more than I can count since then. Earning currency in this game is a massive grind when you look at the current prices for things on the TP. I like to do WvW primarily and any money you earn from WvW is a miserable trickle (practically nothing) often times it does not even cover your repair bills.

I can say.. that this is the first time that I have been tempted to buy currency from third party sellers. Yes it would be wrong and yes it would be against the rules.. but just look at the difference!

People are buying 16g from Anet for 50 dollars.
Other people are buying 100g from a third party seller for 50 dollars.

Thats INSANE and a ton of people can not pass up such temptation. They can buy everything they want (minus legendaries) with that money, then convert the rest to gems and get gem shop items galore.

It is going to cost you tons of money guys!

I really like a lot of the ideas others have had. Better payout from things bots can NOT DO.

I also think the gem shop and game currency should have been kept seperate, but that boat has sailed.

Best thing you can do right now is buy a gem giftcard. You can get them at places like Best Buy and Amazon.

Continue reading and expecting this to be a rant.. because that is exactly what it is.

When I end up in this matchups where I’m down 100K+ points in WvW I have started to question myself and ask.. “Why do we even bother?” I think to myself.. if things continue this way isn’t participation just going to take a nose dive?

I have stayed on my home server from the get-go.. I have experienced wins and losses through the WvW system, but not once have I been a coward and moved over to the winning server.. just to win.

Having said that.. Everything in this game seems designed to tilt everything into one sides favor.. Once they pull ahead by a considerable margin, it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to catch back up.

First. They have superior numbers “most” of the time. That alone is enough to keep things in their favor and keep them on top for the duration of the match.

Second. The side with superior numbers is further bolstered by orb buffs. Further tipping the scales in their favor. What does the underdog get? A trivial buff that does zero to help them turn the tide in any way shape or form.

Third. Being the underdog leads to being smashed to bits by such superior odds leads to an unsatisfying play session. Badge drops are nerfed and due to the zerging swarm on the other side.. You are lucky to get a few handfuls every night. You can also end up losing more silver than you can make. This further drives people to leave and go pve full-time for the duration of the matchup.

These things lead to further annoyance. Tonight I am getting to witness every single exit point from the starting area camped.. By players and by siege equipment. With zero way to counter it. Not only are we out gunned by players and be equipment.. We can’t build anything in our spawn area to counter it. Not even a lowly arrow cart.

People come in and people leave.. and more and more people will just end up skipping weeks all together. Until ultimately you are left with a handful of servers are that even capable of having fun or participating in WvW.

I love this fictional majority you speak of. WVW queue, queens overflow, lions overflow, orr packed to the brim with players.

Players that are “playing” the game.

Psh, mods are slacking.

I have 2,200 toughness on my character and that combo still takes off a large chunk of my health.

The thing is… In order to get that kinda toughness I gave up a chunk of health. So what does it matter.

You either have high health and get hit for a lot of your HP pool % wise.
or
You have high toughness and get hit for a lot of your (smaller) HP pool % wise.
or
You have high health and high toughness and your damage is totally crap.

Where is the balance?

BWE2 is still by far, the best state this game was in.

The fact of the matter is the primary damage here is from Cloak and Dagger and Backstab. Steal is just one of many gap closers and if steal is not up you have other options available to you.

You could Shadow Step and then do Cloak and Dagger + Backstab.

If you are not snared/rooted you could use Heartseeker to close the gap and then Cloak and Dagger + Backstab.

If you start with a Shorbow in your hand you could Infiltrator Arrow and then do Cloak and Dagger + Backstab.

All of the Backstab damage is from stealth and is front loaded into a single unavoidable hit.

I seriously can not remember the last time 100 blades landed on me. The things Warriors do to setup 100 blades combos are much easier to spot. Charges and bolos (etc) give me time to respond.

Backstab hits come from stealth (duh I know). Often while blinded. Also there are several ways to get into stealth to backstab, while 100 blades is a one shot deal in most fights due to the long cd of the skill and of the skills you use to make someone hold still.

You must be new to Anet strats. They changed crap for a long time in GW1 and changes have already happened here. For good or bad, more will come.

The only thing I know to do is pray that I can shadowstep away if I am paying close attention. The problem is, that often it is an opener and you have no way to avoid it.

I spent around 10g on exotics when I hit 80… I have farmed the kittening hell out of DEs and crafting materials since then.. I barely have 17g, I dunno how people make decent money in this game. Farming is slow…

Botters/Gold sellers screwing with the economy…

I am thankful that my current goal is to earn T3 and not a legendary… The T3 stuff is from an NPC and that NPC isn’t likely to change prices. Legendary items though (the base part) just keep going up and up and up. They are to the point now that your average gamer will likely never have the gold to buy it… Unless they buy gold.

The problem is, the economy is so weird right now… That no middle class joe is going to buy that many gems from Anet. They will however, be continually tempted to buy it from the gold sellers.

You can get around 12g for 50 dollars right now (from anet) or you can get 100g from a gold seller for 61 dollars.

Stuff is so outa wack.

I stumbled into this puzzle about 1.5 hours ago. I figured it out all on my own and collected the power sources that are required for the chest at the end. I collected 7 sources (6 are required for the chest). I approached the chest and inserted a power supply into the first node. Instead of it placing a single power source into the node (as it should) it used up all 7 at once. So I no longer have the required number to complete the puzzle and claim my prize. I will not return to this puzzle until I see patch notes that it is fixed.

It looks like it stuck them somewhere else.. Into the nodes at the chests I was not trying to unlock. I don’t know if this is by design or not. If this resets daily then it would still be impossible to unlock the main chest… As they are not enough power sources to deal with all three chests.

I’ve probably opened around 20 chests due to chests giving me more keys. Lots of boosters (crappy) and lots of tonics (crappy and take up bank space). I ended up trashing 50+ odd tonics after trying a few out.

Still nothing being done. I will continue to hound, call out, point out, cast out, condemn and even mock Anet.

Around 10 bots (most of the same ones for days and weeks on end) at Penitent Path this morning. They are extremely visible this time of day due to the low number of people online (work/school).

“We’ve relaxed our anti-exploiting system for loot and events.”

I went and tried some events. Got nice loot the first event. After that it went back to being like 1 in 6.

It doesn’t feel any better than it was before? Anyone else comment?

Glyph of Renewal: This skill will now revive downed allies only, not dead ones.

Signets of Earth, Fire, and Water: These signest have been updated to not fire at targets behind the player.

Signet of Fire: This skill is now able to hit targets at its indicated range.

Signet of Air: This skill now displays a hovering signet effect over the user when activated.

Whirlpool: This skill’s damage has been decreased by 33%.

The fact that they were not prepared for this at all speaks pretty poorly.

I find it hilariously stupid that I get more badges per hour knocking out the jump puzzles in wvw than I get from wvw itself.

Most people are in Orr.
These bloods drop more often in Frostgorge Sound.

Minotaurs and other mobs in that zone drop them.

Is it possible to do the following….

Have a character join one of the orders and buy that orders armor. Then transmute the item to some junk piece of armor. Then trade that junk armor to another character (same account) and let them apply the look to their gear.

Does the transmuted item become soulbound or account bound or neither?

There is an extreme lack of interesting and sexy medium armor. Heavy and Light have way more variety.

Not completely true. Most hackers use stolen bank account/credit card info to buy digital game license keys. In the end this causes more of a headache and cost dealing with refunding the money back.

Anyone that notices such charges would have to deal with this anyways. There are plenty of English speaking and North American living cheaters. The primary bot site you can find in about 2 secs on Google and it is a rehash of a WOW product. With a nice pretty storefront catering to people in the United States.

It has been one week since MikeLewis made this post. Nothing has changed in that time. In fact things are probably worse now. I think it is time we saw some action or we got an update (at the very least).

Same bots in the same places.. day after day.. Week after week. At this point if I show any pictures or post any video captures of cheating in progress I can get infraction for it. This is not something you guys can sweep under the rug. You can come here and preach about working on it all you want, but the same bots have been in the same place for weeks on end now. I am totally disgusted with Anet.

369 hours currently playing the game. Yes, I play entirely to much… but also yes well worth the money I would say.

There is plenty of gear progression in this game. Just not the kind you are looking for.

I’ve seen behavior like this well before this patch.

Great, so Anet is banning the accounts of legit players with hacked accounts en-mass. Any ETA on when you plan on fixing the problem? IE going after companies like EING that are doing the hacking and are the root cause of the problem?

Accounts don’t get “hacked” 99% of the time. What happens is people use the same password for every single online activity. Forums, banking, gaming… all the same password. So if your info is compromised somewhere else, then they just try it on all the major games. Your GW2 account needs to have a strong and importantly UNIQUE password.
