Today, Tuesday, April 19, 2016, we got, in terms of visuals:

  • Fireball: The effect of this skill has been returned to its previous state. The damage of this skill has been increased by 17%.

Literally the only effect that got changed back. They completely forgot mesmer wells and other things too.

The only thing this new setting affects is Elementalist Fireball. Not sure if it’s intentional.

Did only Fireball get changed back in this patch? All the other effects still seem to have the nerfed animations, even with the new option turned off.

So I decided to do a little bit of testing with a friend of mine, trying to figure what causes that weird bug that makes you unable to move until you /sit.

We noticed that it definitely has something to do with taunts.

We managed to do the bug every single time I taunted him with rangers Beastly Warden trait, but ONLY when he had the elementalist trait Diamond Skin on. Otherwise it wouldn’t work.

Maybe the bug is somehow triggered by automatic condition cleanses and taunts somehow?

I know this has been reported before, but it’s still not in the Known Issue Tracker, so Im reporting it again.

Chronophantasma (Chronomancer grandmaster trait) doesn’t work in the Urban Battleground fractal or the Thaumanova Reactor fractal.

Most likely has something to do with the fact that you are transformed to a flame legion charr/inquest asura.

The animation where a charr is getting up after falling a certain distance is weird.

The left arm has gone crazy during that animation on every charr I have seen so far.

These skills are completely different though. The only similiarities are that they are reflects and they are round.

You can’t aim Defense Field, it will always be around the scrapper. (Can be both good thing or a bad thing.)

It also doesn’t last as long.

You can pretty much toss Feeback in the middle of a teamfight without getting into any danger at all. You can’t do that with Defense Field.

Honestly I wouldn’t change either of them.

Imagine if the only way for you to take Feedback was to replace one of your F1-F4 skills with it, and you would have to take Phantasmal Defender as one of your utility skills aswell.

Defense Field is the only reason why I would ever take Bulwark Gyro over other skills.

Mine zooms OUT during fights like world bosses, probably to get a better view of the bosses, which are usually quite large.

Why wouldn’t Hero Panel show the intermediate increase on target when Fury and other sources show their increase (or decrease)?

The hero panel shows only your own stats. Fury affects yourself which is why it shows up in the hero panel. The hero panel does not change no matter what enemy you have targeted, because the hero panel is about YOUR character only. The stats/conditions on enemies don’t affect it in any way.

First of all you have to give up either Illusionary Reversion or Improved Alacrity from Major master AND you have to actually have slow on target for this trait to actually give you any benefit which is not that easy to get as we have either pick something from chronomancer to help us with it or to use Well of Action (AoE for slow with only 5 targets). I don’t see how this trait would actually work “against every other enemy too, even if they weren’t slowed”.

If the hero panel says that you have a 100% critical hit chance, it would mean that you would get a critical hit on every single attack on every single enemy. Obviously the trait doesn’t work like that and that is why it doesn’t show up in the hero panel.

If HP can not show this, how can one even know if this trait works as intended?

Just get 70% crit chance and toss slow on someone with Time Warp and see if you get an attack that actually is not a critical hit. Don’t use a phantasm because im not sure if the trait works with them.

You can clearly see that I have ~74% critical chance, but Im still critting with every attack because of Danger Time. As soon as the slows stop, I start getting non critical hits.

The trait probably just gives you 30% extra chance to get critical hits against slowed enemies, instead of actually increasing the critical chance stat that is shown in the hero panel.

Otherwise if there was one slowed enemy, you would have 100% critical chance against every other enemy too, even if they weren’t slowed.

The evade on it simply isn’t instant. It happens with pretty much every evade skill in the game that has a cast time.

Don’t expect any fixes in terms of clipping armor on beast races. Like, ever.

Well… Considering that Rytlock Brimstone wears this armor, and he plays a rather large part in the story and is kind of the poster charr of HoT, I think they might want to fix this one.

The Mistward Plate has an issue when worn by a charr. There is a section of the armor near the armpits that is oddly attached to the charr’s biceps (unlike on any other race), that makes the leathery part of the armor stretch and tear in weird ways…

Critical few balance tweaks

And kits to other classes as well along with toolbelt (not every class has f1-5)

Engineers are supposed to be able to play without kits, and other classes have F1-F4 abilities.

For example:

Chrono F1-F5
Tempest F1-F4 (2 times all of them though)
Necromancer F1 (But you get entirely new weapon skills from it so its basically 6 skills)
Guardian F1-F3

Not to mention that engineers have to sometimes take a bad utility skill just to get a good toolbelt skill (Like with Elixir X…)

Engineer/Scrapper:
- rapid regeneration values reduced by 50%, scaling from healing power increased to compensate
- damage coefficients tweaked on hammer to bring it in line with other melee sets of other classes

Im fine with the rapid regen part, but if you want to balance the hammer the same way other classes weapons are balanced, you would have to give engineers weapon swap.

Just got mine. You need 14/14, not 7/14. You can buy Plated Hammers from the merchant that spawns after you finish the meta event in Dragons Stand, which you need to get a Machined Hammer, incase anyone was wondering. The same guy also sells the Scrappers Inscription.

Scepter block + Maim the Disillusioned does quite alot of damage quickly.

This is the Condition Shatter build I personally like to run. It’s slow and not too effective against larger groups, but it’s easy to use and is very good in small fights.
(+ It’s really tanky.)

It’s not PU though.

The F2 Shatter (Cry of Frustration) is just ridiculous with that build.

Just use Staff and make as many clones as possible (They actually hurt alot with this build by stacking alot of bleeds and burn). Scepter is for bursting, and you shouldn’t use it for much else. (Focus for Swiftness.)

Also, avoid using Phantasms with this build. Clones are actually better. Phantasms only if you need something to shatter, or just can’t make a clone.

Me personally its a mirror blade blink+mind wrack (3 clone obv.)

You get to catch all your mirror blade bounces plus give a lil surpirse mindwrack when they think you are too far away with your GS.

Same as yours except replace Mind Wrack with Diversion, and then Mirror Images + Mind Wrack.

If you get an interrupt and have the traits, its going to be 20 stacks of vulnerability before Mind Wrack hits =D

Yeah I do that sometimes, however I like to save diversion for stomps/resses. And I have been making so many portal plays lately that I don’t have mirror images on my bar :/

I usually have a Power Lock (Mantra of Distraction) left for stomping anyway. Lockdown builds ftw.
