I would like them account bound too. If I spend a bunch of gold on a dye, I would like it to be usable on my other characters too.
That or increase the drop rate on the unid dyes. 10-12 siver per unid dye is crazy when there’s like 400 dyes in the game.
It all changed once someone called, “Crystin Cox” joined ArenaNet as the Monetization Producer with prior work experience at Nexon and NCSoft. She and ArenaNet went back on their word from a 2010 blog post about dyes because dyes “gave the player a sense of progression.”
Yeah, spending 5 gold on a Midnight Fire dye 8 times sure is nice progression.
Adding names to WvW unavoidably adds chat too.
Let’s say two buddies schedule a fight through skype or something in some area in WvW.
Then an experienced thief comes along and interupts, manages to kill one or both of them, and /laughs.
That thief could be added and a geeky internet flame war could start at Lion’s Arch because what’s stopping people from messaging eachother from different servers? Nothing, all you’d have to do is add them, leave WvW, and release your angry feelings onto the other player(s) most likely resulting in a ban.
I don’t think ArenaNet will allow this lol. Before they fixed an issue all you had to do was /report someone, add their username.xxxx code, and talk to them. If they fixed that, I don’t think they’ll simply add names and “/yelling” in WvW.
If ArenaNet and our NCSoft and Nexon overlords are planning on putting more weapon and armor skins in the BLC, can they atleast make them account bound?
I would like ArenaNet to please reconsider making these skins available in the Trading Post. I mean, what other MMORPG in the market actually allows holiday skins to be traded all year long? Hell, even RUNESCAPE stopped doing this a long time ago.
The in-game economy sure could use less blows in the head. It’s not healthy when some lucky sport receives a skin worth.. 40 gold coins? Then melts it all on gems or uses it to play the TP, which is not a bad thing, but lately EVERYBODY has been playing the TP. That kitten is becoming the norm and we need less people that go from 6-9 gold of total income to 40-60 gold in a matter of seconds.
Getting those skins means less revenue for ArenaNet and a more shaken in-game economy. Sure, some people could keep the skins for themselves but, who would deny the temptation of selling a Greatsaw greatsword skin for 64 gold?
BUT WHAT IF I GET THE SAME SKIN TWICE, OR TRICE?! :c
ArenaNet could add in a Black Lion Trading Company NPC that will exchange skins. Got a 3rd pair of medium leggings from the BLC that you don’t want? Well, exchange it for another part of the medium armor skin set or another pair of leggings from the heavy and light armor skins set. Got a 2nd sword you don’t want? Exchange it for another weapon.
Probably not a good idea to request these changes 3 days before the big update, but just wanted to post this to see how many people feel the same way and agree. Huge amounts of in-game income shouldn’t be thrown around with Black Lion Chests. Coins should be earned through activities in the game that don’t require real money. I am aware that Black Lion Keys do drop, got one myself after 700 hours of gameplay, but I think the current system is only beneficial to those who already have hundreds of gold from playing the TP and those who have real currency to waste. I worked hard for my in-game money, it makes no sense to allow these Holiday items to be sold in the Trading Post all year long so someone can go from 5 gold to 65 gold in a few seconds.
I also find it funny how ArenaNet took the time to make toilet paper rolls and rotten eggs from Halloween soul/account bound but not the skins.
