For one, it takes away excitement from the game, such as the previously “never-ending teamfight” foefire map. Now once there are 1-2 players left alive you’re stuck sitting around for about 40 seconds waiting for everyone to spawn… The game not only looks but feels far more boring now.

Secondly, stomping someone held strategic importance. Do you stomp him on :22 knowing he will spawn in 2 seconds? Will those 2 seconds give you enough time to cap before the next respawn makes it there to contest? Should you risk letting him get ressed in order to turn a 2 second into a 20 second timer?

PvP Exploit: Ranger Down State

If a ranger pet dies while the ranger is in down state it will move on top of the ranger and block ALL PROJECTILES being thrown at the ranger.
Please fix this ASAP I lost 2 downfights that may have determined the outcome of some paid tournaments just today.

It IS anti-burst.

C&D damage was drastically reduced.

Mug damage is fine as is. If Mug damage is reduced, a massive nerf on all other class’s class specific skills are required. If you can live with that and not qq, then sure…nerf Mug damage, but make sure to nerf all the other class’s class specific damage by the same amount, if not more.

Mug is a first tier trait.
Do you want to go over other first tier traits?
When it comes to dmg they tend to be situational 5-10% dmg buffs.
Yes 5-10% dmg buffs that aren’t up all the time…
Mug is a 33%~ dmg buff on spike.
That’s ridiculous.
That’s not even all of it.

Mug makes steal apply venoms.. like basilisk venom…
So causes undodgeable stuns or immobilizes…

All in a first tier trait…
So where would that re-balancing be again?

Mug is a First tier trait (10 points)
Ok.
Now let’s take a look at ranger’s 1/2 tier trait (5 points) quickness…

This is only a temporary list. They’re working on an Elo/rating system as we speak, but of course Custom Games come first.
Nearly every competitive game tends to release related information before their rating systems are finalized.
League did it, Smite, probably a lot more I can’t think of.

If you are getting instagibbed by a thief, that means you understand the risks in running your 14khp glass cannon build and its just a l2p issue of your reaction time being too slow to stunbreak them.
Let’s list the counters to glass backstab theif, shall we?
Trap Ranger, Bulky Necro, Retal/Burn Block Guard, Warrior w/ Endure Pain, a skilled Bow Thief, Bunker/Bomber Engi, Any skilled Mesmer with more than 18k hp, Staff Ele.
Wait… What was that? Every class has a hardcounter build to the alleged overpowered backstab build? Whaaauuuuuttttttt?

That being said, yes everything is a bit extreme right now. Glass cannons are too glass cannon-y. Tanks are too tanky. Both need a nerf. As it stands, they are equally overpowered.

You’re not seeing the big picture here.
If you can pop up from mid to the enemy’s far point completely undetected at any time, that means the enemy team can’t have a bunker sitting inbetween points (ex: foefire: ele, engie on cliff).
So you either HAVE to have a mesmer on your team with portal on point, or fight mid 4v5.
I don’t want to see any one class being required for a team to compete competitively.

The mist form needs to have about .5-1sec taken off IMO.
Perfectly re-casting the stomp and blowing a utility to teleport and finish him should put it in line with other downstates (mesmer, thief).

The thief’s damage potential is not broken at all. You still need to learn to play.
A 10-second stealth when applied to it (or any roamer for that matter), however, is.

edit: Also… What?
The enemy team having a necro whom I can only burst down to 1/2hp (If he doesn’t deathshroud/spec armor it) then turn around and melt my face off while in stealth is FAR scarier than a thief which i can just blind+shadowstep away if I get caught.
Powerr knows this I’m sure.

Pre-casting it during a match will land you on the enemy’s point completely unseen.
10 seconds of stealth is far too much.
In tPvP, the main purpose a thief (BS&PW) brings over other classes is to get in unnoticed and burst someone down before they can react (because they didn’t notice you; less time to prepare/react).
10 Seconds of stealth just trivializes this as the enemy team can’t even tell what half of the map the thief is on.
SFuge, if kept the way it is now, I believe should be given 1 less tick. At LEAST make it 5-7 seconds of stealth.

Any1 who doesnt understand the difference , of 1 character to kill an other in 1,5 sec , while the others need 6-10 sec , needs to go back in Math class :P

Mesmer can kill more instantly than that.
Warriors can kill similar targets in half of a 100b. Or an eviscerate. Or a whirling attack.
Rifle Engi can do similar burst but most good players run bunker/bomb spec.

Woah. 12k backstab? You must be running, like… negative toughness or something.
Because the glassiest necros I’ve vs’ed get crit for around 9k.
Most good ones get hit for about 6-7k. Then they turn around and hit you with 10 stacks of bleed which WILL kill you if it goes uncleansed. Not to mention the blinding wells and plague form blind spam and

Xeph- It really is a l2p issue. If you’re going to build complete glass there’s no reason for the glassiest cannon in the game to 1shot you if you don’t read his movement and blind or stunbreak it.
And as far as Mesmer goes the only thing I see wrong here is their portal ability which makes them invaluable in a capture/hold the point type PvP.

And no, I don’t ONLY play thief. My first class which I even PvE’d to 80 was a Warrior, which I stopped playing because I felt there was such a low skill-ceiling for the class compared to Thief. When playing with 3x less armor and 2x less health, the game becomes alot more twitch-reaction based in which any minor mistake will cost you a death. And quite possibly throw the match.

Hardest Class/Most rewarding

I’d have to say thief. Sure it’s the easiest thing in the world to 3shot people who dont run any toughness and aren’t running any stunbreaker/paying attention, but it’s probably the easiest class to die on as well.
You have to have insane reaction-time to blind/evade/stunbreak out of enemy backstabs, eviscerates, etc. because they all 1hko you.
Not to mention in a pinch if you miss a shadowstep (misaim or stand in the wrong position) it’s basically a suicide.
