I’m glad that you have found a place to call home, but I’m sad that sexism still exists in the gaming world. Not sure why we can’t all be looked at as “gamers” without having a sex tacked on. I know that the need is high for gamers to find a place that they feel comfortable and safe from the near constant assault of disrespectful and sexist gamers (because yes there are female gamers who are just as bad as males). I know the site I work on Ladies of MMOs was made for the specific reason of giving a place for gamers to find like minded people without any sort of harassment. Let me know if you need anything, i’m more than happy to help.
Once again i’m glad that you all have found a way to enjoy the game.
- Luspire
(and yes I am male)
Thank you Luspire.. I completely agree with you (and trust me.. I know what you mean about some women being just as bad or worse than some men. I’ve run into plenty of that, too!) and I appreciate you taking the time to post and share the site with us!
The Sisterhood is a LGBT friendly guild.
I call BS if you’re only recruiting 18+ Woman.
Although I respect your right to think whatever you want, your BS call has just caused you to receive 10 more cards into your hand! (Get it? Because you are wrong and you get the whole BS pile..?)
Joking aside.. we require all our members (female and male – please read the entire first post, we accept men onto our forums.. but you seemed to have ignored that little detail) to be LGBT friendly. It is required and access to the guild or forums is not allowed unless our applicant is LGBT friendly. That should clear everything up for you.

Still seeking active, quality members to apply on our website.
Remember ladies.. we are on Piken Square AND Tarnished Coast. Covering both RP servers for all your timezone needs..
Supportive bumps are very appreciated as well!
Stop by and give us a look: http://gw2sisterhood.enjin.com/home
Feel free to contact us in-game too: AbbieCarrington, RylennTerynget or Eukai.
Thought I’d stop by and show some support.
Here’s a bump from The Sisterhood..
Thank you for your input minkee (and it’s a pleasure to have you in the guild as well! ;]) – it is true, the little things tend to get to you after a while.. and then usually the big things get you to the point of “I’m tired of the same old same old.. -done-”. That’s why we’re here for you!
@ Mirrei – I appreciate your support and bump! I have never run a guild before (always been a co-leader or “officer”) so I can’t imagine how it would be to have the power to kick an immature player out once your patience wears thin.. but it would feel pretty awesome, I assume xD
Thank you for your opinion, skom. I agree with you on reporting inappropriate behavior. Definitely a wonderful thing.
I will say, too many a time has happened where perverts get away with being so in guilds because people get “used to it” and just end up going “Oh, well that’s just how he is..” and then comments and jokes get over-looked all the time. I have played MANY a COD game (most often with my ex) and I agree.. it is quite obvious that men are “jerks” with men just as they are to women.. but also, most men take insults differently coming from a man than women do. Some men can easily brush off the jokes as nothing and throw them right back.. some don’t. Our women are strong – most of us aren’t the type to just cry and run away when we hear a “bad word”.. but we’re also sick of having to deal with situations where we are patted on the head and told “Oh.. how cute that you think you can do this..” or we run into a guy finding out we’re female and the only thing they know how to do is make flirting comments to us or mention something sexual whenever they talk with us.
I think people take perversion of this extent too lightly. They think just because most men are perverts (at least somewhat), that it’s okay because it’s what the majority are. I’m not comparing perverts to psychopaths, but perverts can be dangerous too. And what I mean by that is usually in the way that weighs heavily on self-esteem, etc.
Thank you again, for your input – always good to see another person’s educated opinion!
Thank you so much for your input, FireoX! It is good to see someone who is confident enough to see the problems that we have brought up here. We never want men to feel like we are purposely excluding them. Especially the good men of the gamer world!
I find it very incredible that you are able to be able to look past the initial assumption that people seem to have of “hate for men” and see that we are simply trying to avoid the sexism and other issues from the men [and women] who choose to treat us badly or view us as only something to flirt with on the game.
The Sisterhood is divided into four distinct orders, with each order providing a particular focus for the women within. Each order is governed by an Abbess, elevated to their position by a resigning Abbess and based partly on popular acclaim.
A view into our History..
The Sisterhood’s roots go back to pre-searing Ascalon. One hundred years before that catastrophe, priestesses of Dwayna met with representatives of other faiths in secret.
A military and religious order was to be created to guide Ascalon from the shadows. Female warriors of Balthazar joined healers of Dwayna, mesmers of Lyssa, and woodswomen of Melandru. Even assassins following Grenth were eventually summoned. Ascalon was in peril, and the united faiths wanted a power behind the throne. The Sisterhood was born.
Thank you, I appreciate your opinion on it. If every guild were like how you say yours is, treating every member equally and never having any instances of inappropriate flirting/sexual attacks (direct or indirect in random conversations) then we wouldn’t feel a need to have this specific guild, because none of those issues (that we choose to deny entry to our guild) would exist.
We come across more people than you’d like to imagine who are a part of a guild that has plenty of inappropriate comments and they never say a word, because they have become used to the idea that misogyny is everywhere.. and they are forced to tolerate it. Sometimes the issue isn’t men making “kitchen jokes”.. sometimes it’s simply the fact that there are too many immature boys/men in guilds who think it’s alright to throw out a sexual comment about something that would offend a woman. These things slip all the time in guilds through jokes, insults, etc. Not everyone has the same sensitivity level, so one comment may be inappropriate to one girl where as it is totally fine to another girl.
We’re here to offer women some sanctuary from any chance of that. We are more aware of it than others because it is our focus to completely rid such incidents from existing within our guild.
We do not talk bad about other guilds, we do not believe all men are sexist or immature, we do not look down on co-ed guilds and we did not “give up” on believing in good people existing in the gaming world. We simply have an idea, just as everyone else does, and intend to grow stronger through adversity and encourage other people to never tolerate or put up with the unnecessary misogyny that occurs too often in games.
I think you need to look at it in a different way, just to see our point – if I may explain.
It is sad, but I cannot tell you the countless amount of times I have tried to integrate into several different guilds having both male and female players and having constant disappointment. The effort has to be on both sides, you’re right.. but we don’t live in a perfect world.
And we do reach out! As I stated before, we are not trying to hide from men – we do not accept women who are judgmental or drama-driven. We are getting away from the comments and harassment as a whole, but we do have a theme, obviously. There are several guilds who are location or race themed as well. If you’ve ever seen “Asian/Oceanic Guild only” or “Pvpers only” or even “Pacific Time Zone Only” guilds, which there are several out there.. you might not be as uncomfortable with the idea of The Sisterhood.
That is great to hear Syouke! I’m so glad – you guys deserve a good following and I wish only the best for you.
@ VincentCross – You have no idea how grateful I am for your insight and post. I have a very supportive boyfriend who feels the same way as you. The point of The Sisterhood is not to say that all men are immature or perverted – but to provide a safe place away from the ones who are.
That is why we are more than happy to take the supportive, respectful men onto our website to RP with us and share their valuable ideas and knowledge about the game on our forums.. (I like to refer to them as real men).
Hey Syouke! Yeah, they are – The Sisterhood is the perfect fit for me and has been a life saver! I hope you’re doing good too – how are things over there?
Ah, I see.. well lots of thanks anyways, Illiad. And it does, totally count as another bump. I’m quite grateful for that, I hope you know!
The Sisterhood has noticed you.
TC is the US RP server, did you say?
Compelling summary, Illiad. Sending you much love from The Sisterhood.
I’ll actually take a look into that – I’ve been hearing good about TC lately, I’ll have to go to the big boss ladies with this idea.
I appreciate it Ruj – best of luck SHC!
Thank you, McKnighter! We are encouraging people to try out Piken Square while the transfers are still free – we currently do not have anyone on Tarnished Coast, that I am aware of. I reside in Jade Quarry right now and am managing that faction of the guild, though. Feel free to contact me in-game or through PM for extra info, as well!
The Sisterhood is a LGBT friendly guild. We defend our own. We embrace any challenge and continually prove people wrong. We are all sisters coming from different areas of the world and different paths in our lives but we are all one.
If you took the Knights Templar, added some Freemason flavor, and made all the members female, you’d have The Sisterhood. We aim to be frightening, mysterious, and cultish. Still, the bravery, genius, and resourcefulness of our individual members can never be underestimated; The Sisterhood always finds its way into the darkest rooms, the most secluded meeting places, and the furthest refuges, and our agents act swiftly and ruthlessly if needed. Our diplomats appear before royalty, and our spies flood their governments and affect policy. We are everywhere. We see everything. And when we reach out, nobody escapes our grasp.
The Sisterhood has noticed you.
This guild was founded on the idea that women need to find a safe haven, a place where they can feel cozy and welcome without having to face the pressure of sexism. It’s true that the gaming world has come a long way in terms of gender equality. Sexism is still there, however. And it can still ruin a gaming experience.
The Sisterhood was created to give female players the chance to call a guild home and feel like part of a team without constantly being poked and prodded (even insulted) for their gender. We are a group of women who do not settle for mediocrity. We are the dignified women who use our gaming skills and knowledge to be great. We are tired of the perverted comments and shameless flirting. We do not need to lower ourselves to such a level to be noticed. We are looking for more women to band together with us and enjoy our judgment-free, support-filled family.
These are some of the things to expect from The Sisterhood:
- A website with active forums.
- A private mumble server.
- 18+ drama-free, friendly environment.
- A strong focus on RP.
- Casual but committed leaders and members.
We are located on the Piken Square server [the unofficial EU RP server, though the guild is based in the US] and are a close-knit group. We are looking to grow a bit, but not to a number that results in losing people in the crowd. We help each other out; running dungeons together, sharing helpful advice and elevating the mood of anyone that is around us!
We are an all-female group in-guild. We do, however, accept certain respectful men onto our guild’s website (with a sponsor from one of the Sisters). We want to have a place for the supportive men in our Sister’s lives to have a place to go to as well if desired, since we are restricting our actual guild to female-only.
Please check out our website and send your application in if you feel The Sisterhood is the guild for you:
http://gw2sisterhood.enjin.com/recruitment
And if you are not looking to join us, but would like to support our cause, feel free to leave a bump.. <3
The Sisterhood is everywhere.
I sent you a PM.. hope to hear from you soon!
I just sent you a PM! Hope to hear from you soon LittleZoe
As Abbie already stated our guild website has been moved to:
http://gw2sisterhood.enjin.com/home
The website is under construction but the Recruitment page is up for interested prospects to send in an application.
We love hearing everyone’s stories and seeing support from other Sisters (whether you’re in a guild or not).. so thank you all for the support-bumps!
Wicked idea. Lots of love to the EU’s for coming up with great guilds like this one. Best of luck, ladies.
Personally I dissagree. We currently have over 10 girls in our clan gaming with us without a problem. Maybe it is because we are a very mature clan, but we never had major issues about perv jokes or whatever. Also pervs will be noticed very quickly and kicked/banned from the clan.
I don’t see why there should be a male or female only Guild, people should game together and have fun, that’s the most important thing in my opinions.
Wish you best of luck, tho.
As a female gamer for over 10 years (all of my teens and adult life!), I can personally attest to the fact that there are serious issues with gender respect across the board. Not all guilds are this way, but to have the option of a safe place to avoid the chance of it completely is a phenomenal idea and very much needed for plenty of women who simply don’t want to deal with it, whether you disagree or not. I’m fortunate enough to have great friends that I repeatedly game with, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still see/experience it from time to time.
The reason you probably have so many women in your guild is because it is a mature one that doesn’t objectify them, and that’s wonderful! But don’t believe it’s the norm, even in this wonderful Guild Wars 2 community. The part about my “talents and contributions being overlooked unless I’m being hit on” specifically resonated with me. It’s not just perversion, which is easy to deal with — it’s about a lack of respect of your capabilities as a gamer, guild member and even a person because you’re a chick.
Top DPS? Well, you probably got the gear that’s helping you because you’re a girl. Not because you earned it.
Officer in your guild? Pff, it must be because the guild leader likes you. Not because you earned it.
Great healer? Hah! Big fish in a small pool, cos girls heal because it’s easy.
These are super common examples, that I’m sure you’ve heard before elsewhere, in regards to someone at some time.
There’s a lot of opinions, articles, etc. on this but at the end of the day, all those do is prove that chicks being vilified or looked down upon is still a very real issue. Sad as that is, we’re not out of the sexist gamer woods yet.
At any rate, lovebump for the Sisterhood with this massive wall o’ text of mine~ <3
You are a hero of mine! I agree to the fullest extent. I was looking for a safe place to enjoy gaming and get away from any and all perversion in EVERY aspect of it and The Sisterhood has given me just that.
I thank you all for your advice and insight – I appreciate it!
I have found a guild that seems to fit well with me for what I am looking for, so I won’t be looking anymore as of now. I hope it works out with this guild and again, thank you to everyone for posting!
I wish everyone luck with their guilds/recruitment’s – happy hunting and looting to you all!
Wicked idea. Lots of love to the EU’s for coming up with great guilds like this one. Best of luck, ladies.

My own experience is that lots of people (girls specifically) don’t say anything when they are uncomfortable with perverted jokes/unruly flirting.. I don’t by any means think every guild has things like that going on but neither does anyone else. I think it’s more addressing the guilds that -do- have these issues present and unless there is a ridiculously vulgar situation, things may be overlooked. And there are plenty of girls who are the ones doing the inappropriate flirting with guys in a guild, so I don’t think people should view this as it applies to everyone. This looks like a great guild to avoid any possibility of being uncomfortable and meeting with very like-minded people.
My desire is to join long-term though, hence me not making a hasty decision. Not a fan of jumping guilds and I wouldn’t imagine guilds would want people that just join without thinking it through, especially when I’m not 100% sure for one guild over another.
I’m part of my clan now for years already and I know exactly what you mean. There are moments I’ve been inactive a bit, simply cause of the change of games, but in the end I’ve always sticked with the people I know now for a long time already and start playing a game they also enjoy.
And I hate recruiting people that leave within months or even just stay away without notice.
Right! I mean, life happens and people don’t live at their computer but I see the guilds with people who have been in there for years, traveling from game to game.. and that’s awesome. I see lots of guilds that look nice and I’m sure the people are great but some are just not the right fit for everyone. Some people are more bold and can make themselves known in a HUGE guild with no problem.. but I’ve experienced -trying- to fit in and be known/get to know people yet it results in being ignored. I guess there is a guild/clan for everyone.. just a matter of finding it!
Yeah, I do have several options – My desire is to join long-term though, hence me not making a hasty decision. Not a fan of jumping guilds and I wouldn’t imagine guilds would want people that just join without thinking it through, especially when I’m not 100% sure for one guild over another.
Thanks Tynho, I appreciate the invite!
I should not have said anything.. I jinxed it x.x
This sounds like an awesome guild.. I just wish I were on that server.
Thank you for all the posts! The boards seem to be picking up now.. I will be looking through my options (even the different server options, although not preferable) to give a fair look at them all.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it! I just hope I don’t feel the need to resort to transferring.. been seeing decent guilds so far..
Keep them coming!
Thank you naqaden – I appreciate you posting and inviting me to look, it’s always good to see all the options, even if they don’t have -everything- you may want/prefer!
Currently online and in-game but checking back on boards frequently.
Thank you Talgen – I have to say, although I want a “casual” guild [what I mean by that is that I prefer not to be heckled to PvP at least so-and-so each month etc].. I still do like (and prefer) the structure and sense of community/commitment that a guild shows by having a website/voice communication system.
I am looking through everything and still looking for more recruits.. thanks!
I will be sure to check you out, thanks for posting!
Checking you out.. thanks!
Still here taking other recruitment’s also –
Boards don’t seem as active as I would think.. perhaps just a slow night. X_x
Hello there..
I’m Kai and I am currently in a guild and I’m not sure about it so I’m keeping my options open. I am 22 years old and play very often (Central time – usually evenings 3pm-2am). I am looking for an 18+ guild and want to get away from perverted/overly inappropriate humor.
I have a level 50 Ranger and I like to go about my business casually.. exploring, crafting and advancing my story [would be great to do more dungeons too]. I really do not want to join a guild that is large. I actually prefer a smaller guild.. I don’t mind if the guild is expanding to become bigger but I find that being in a guild with 100+ members already is not for me. So please – the closer to between 15 and 50 members as possible, the better.. I want to feel like I’m welcome and a part of the team.. not just another tiny fish in a big lake.
I do have a mic, and I am a little reserved but I am more than willing to join in on Mumble or Teamspeak – I also like when guilds have their own established website with forums.
I am on the Jade Quarry server and I do not want to transfer, sorry..
Feel free to post here or PM me, either is fine.. I appreciate whoever takes the time to read through this!
Absolutely right. Would clean things up a bit.
I actually think there are more Warriors around.. I think people just notice Rangers/assume they’re mostly used because once they see a pet running along with them, they know it’s a Ranger.. so it sticks in their mind. :/
@ CharrGirl – I thank you for your post and ideas.. I read through and was glad to see someone posting about something interesting (at least in my opinion..). I often find myself dissatisfied with several games and their character creation options. I wanted to make a human and found zero hairstyles I liked.. and I usually at least am okay with ONE hairstyle option.. I ultimately chose to be a Female Sylvari mostly because I found that race to be most interesting and I liked the features the best.
I agree with your feelings on having the options be “too pretty” (male and female) – I am fine with games having “attractive” faces but I think there shouldn’t just be only those types of faces, just like I don’t agree with games that only ever give the option for huge breasts on females with way too skinny waists as well as only males with only overly muscular bodies. I actually was happy with the choices they gave me with Sylvari – they had some bigger body types as well as the slim physique with a reasonable smaller chest size/hips (which is the type I like for my characters).
I feel like every game lacks somewhat in the character creation and even if they don’t, it will feel as such because there are so many people with lots of different likes so it’s hard to please everyone.
I think they did a good job, and all I can hope is they add more to it with time.. This was a good topic though, fun to think of all the things they could do/change.. love hearing other people’s creative ideas!
