I’ve been watching these forums for awhile…and there has been a lot of people posting today that I would normally try to recruit. Well…my loss for the time being, must get organized first lol. I hope you find what you’re looking for, you sound like you will be excellent members of whatever community you’re a part of. Happy gaming!
This is just an assumption on my part, but I’m going to put it out there just in case. In a lot of games a good way to level is to get high quality gear (for your level) and then attack things in groups or attack things that are higher level than you are. But in this game doing that WILL get you killed if you’re going at it alone. People can usually take on small amounts like 3 or 4 depending on their skill level and gear and other such factors, but if you try to stray too far ahead of your level or take on too many enemies at once, they will kill you every time. There isn’t any massive overpowering of PvE in this game. So I’m not saying you are trying to do that, but IF that is the case, you won’t be able to do it, nobody can.
I think the main issue is that everyone is in the same boat. Especially with an item like a focus, it’s hard to imagine it based on the way the other weapons look, like the greatsword or axe. Eventually we will get in game pictures of all of them being used, but it’s probably going to be awhile. Best of luck.
Best of luck finding a good guild to call home.
Guild or no guild I’d be happy to answer questions and whatnot, but I’m not on your server. Hope you find what you’re looking for, happy gaming.
Hmm…this is a shame. I would happily try to recruit you, if only we were recruiting. Sadly we are not just yet lol. Still, I can’t help but post and wish you luck with the guild you find. We ourselves want to make a guild with good, genuine, and helpful people…a strong core group that supports the guild as a whole. You seem the type, but the timing just wasn’t right. Best of luck to you out there and happy gaming.
I watched all of them on my first character and took screenshots of particularly good ones, but I skip them on alts.

Definitely a guild style I would enjoy, much support from this seemingly irrelevant player.
Happy gaming.

Regarding the advances, there are two points to make. The first is that this is a game that they just want to play, they aren’t here for people to try and pick them up. As YOU said, they are here to PLAY. Secondly, it’s a matter of how people go about doing it. I can’t even tell you how many times I shake my head because I see people go up to female avatars, ones they don’t even know, could be anyone (male or female) for all they know, and just start saying the most juvenile ridiculous nonsense. As if anyone would ever enjoy that. Most times the avatar (whoever it is) goes afk or logs off. In a couple very rare occasions I’ve seen the person say they are a guy, and usually the other person runs off.
While I agree that there always seems to be someone up in arms about something, and that everything has to be turned into a cause these days, I still stand by what I said in that if they are not hurting anyone or themselves, they should do what they want. I don’t see anything wrong with making a guild like this. Personally I don’t agree with making it women only, and Azulia made several good points regarding that, but I see no reason for it to be a problem for anyone.
Finally, recruiting people on equal footing based on how well they can play is fine but respect is always a necessity, whether it’s life or a game. There will always be a certain level of personal respect that people SHOULD have for themselves and others, and that line of respect tends to get crossed constantly in games. People say and do things, that if they said/did them in person, would most likely get them punched, beaten, or worse. The fact that it’s a game is not an excuse to ever ignore the importance of respecting people. And I don’t care if someone has the best gear, and is the most skilled person ever at their class, if they behave like an ignorant, immature jerk, then I want them nowhere near me or anyone in my guild. A person like that simply takes the enjoyment right out of a game, which is meant for leisure time relaxation.
I don’t have much info on the back accessory. I use the guild backpack as it’s the best I’ve found. However there is a level 80 aquabreather for sale for karma points in Cursed Shore, the npc is by Gavebeorn (i think that’s it) waypoint. It’s masterwork which I believe is the best class of aquabreather you can get currently.
In the beginning, there are essentially 3 ways to gain armor. Buy it from the marketplace, Get it as drops from monsters/events, Or use Karma to buy it from karma merchants when available. Many times the Renown Heart NPC’s will sell an accessory or a piece of armor for karma points. If you don’t find any and you can’t afford to buy it all, this can be a good way to get things early on.
My usual attitude on things (guilds in this case) like this, is if you’re not hurting yourself, and you’re not hurting others, then by all means do what makes you the most comfortable and the happiest. I do find it unfortunate that so many people think that because it’s a game they can just treat people however they want to. I absolutely agree with something that was said before.
“A lot of gamers, sadly, feel that the digital barrier that is between you and them allows them to throw morals and respect out the window. Every one of them have a reason for doing it whether it’s personal or just overall idiocy. No matter the reason, it is wrong to be this way and again it is not just restricted to female victims.” -skom
While I have no problem with what you’re doing or why you are doing it, I do think an alternate and appropriate solution would be to make it a point to recruit men into a guild who did NOT behave as you describe. Not only to show female gamers who feel this way that plenty of decent male gamers do exist who won’t bother them or hit on them or treat them as inferiors, but also to show the players who do behave like immature, chest pounding fools that plenty of their fellow gamers (both male and female) disapprove of their ridiculous behavior.
I have to agree with Fildydarie (or whatever you would like to be called). I’m the type of player that loves to help people out. I find it fun and rewarding. At the same time, if I had a label it would be rather far from “hardcore”. I’m not interested in speeding through dungeons constantly, piling up gold, or any facet of rushing. I take my time and enjoy whatever I want to, exploring, goofing off, helping someone, wandering around. I’ve been 80 for awhile now, got all the gear I want, transmuted some stuff, but I have no interest in dungeon armor appearances and other similar things. Someone with a higher set of goals who is a collector or is aiming for the top spots in some aspect of the game isn’t likely to stop and spend time walking others through the things they struggle with. On the other hand, there are also the people who aren’t working toward anything, but just have a bad attitude in general, or think something like “I won’t help anyone because nobody helped me.”
