I wouldn’t consider fractals a waste of time. If you think about it you’re getting an ascended weapon or armor piece valued between 50-100g every 6 runs or so. Something’s off about armor chests though. Since their introduction I’ve gotten about 8 or so healer chests, 5 malicious chests, a few defender chests, and absolutely 0 raider (useful) chests. Oh well guess I can throw those on my alts for wvw.

The servers that succeed at boss blitz do so because someone was proactive about organizing the event. If you don’t want to taxi to a different server consider organizing something on the server that you’re placed into.

What's the point of contested dungeons?

I’ve never met anyone who appreciates this feature so why is it still around? The addition of megaservers has only compounded the problem too. At least before the feature patch you could just guest so it was a minor inconvenience to open a dungeon. Now however a typical tour of COE involves doing that 15-minute event chain once or twice in between starting the different paths (which themselves take only 10-20 minutes to complete).

This is the video I used for reference. If you want a bit of a buffer you can also deploy a consumable mortar, which will buy you a few more seconds of time.

I based my run off of that one as well. The only differences were that I stacked less might beforehand and reversed the order of meteor shower/lava font for the first burrow (seemed to work better). I’ll try mortar next time, then. Does it have a cooldown like fire elemental/rock dog now?

Yes unfortunately it has a 30 minute cooldown which makes it a real pain to determine the optimal place to put it. In my experience it takes some luck and/or near flawless execution to solo this part successfully.

Bit off topic, but could anyone help me with the burrows part solo on ele? I can’t seem to get to the last burrow before hodgins dies. If I drop FGS right after the NW and west burrows, drop lava font on hodgins, then ice bow the southwest corner burrow, I can get to the last one, but I have nothing to kill it with at that point except meteor shower, but hodgins (or me) will be killed by graves before that finishes.

Why so much hate for dungeon sellers?

By the way if anyone on NA is interested in buying AC paths on a regular basis about 2-3 hours post reset please add/message me in-game. I’m willing to offer a sizable discount if it means not having to deal with the hassle of listing/waiting for buyers.

Every once in a while I’ll solo ac p1 or p3 for a bit of a challenge but whenever I try to sell a path I’m met with an absurd amount of vitriol. I’m not exaggerating or anything – you’d think I was Scarlet reincarnated the way some people talk to me. Sometimes my fractal group 4-mans scale 50 because our 5th isn’t online and we can’t be bothered to PUG the last slot so we try to sell it. Same deal. I also hear all the time about players intentionally breaking the instances of arah sellers.

From what I understand there’s a lengthy history of dungeon selling in this franchise stretching back to Guild Wars 1 and Anet has even publicly sanctioned the practice so what’s the deal? Why is there so much hatred for dungeon sellers?

Runes of Strength Over Scholar?

Runes of Strength are only worth it if you generate a lot of might for your party. Elementalists, Engineers, and Phalanx Strength Warriors benefit the most from using Runes of Strength. Runes of the Ranger (surprise) are a good choice for rangers.

Every time I get the Molten Furnace Fractal that chest contains some number of fractal relics, 1 agony infusion and 1 blue. I’d be annoyed but hey, it’s a really easy fractal and I mainly do FOTM for the chance at ascended chests/fractal skins.

If someone intends to use ele to stack most of the might for a group, can I see a video where your group stacks might correctly during the encounters like archdiviner at fotm 41+ when you often have a hammer guardian?

Let’s be practical, for dungeons ele is the definite choice for might stacking but eles can’t do it so well in high scales fractals. If you see your party stack mights correctly, it takes few seconds to change your build.

And most importantly, can ele stack mights underwater as good as PS warrior?

Good point. I use my warrior in high level fractals and I can definitely see how this trait could be useful in FOTM where a) stacking in one spot isn’t as prevalent, b) fights go on for an extended period of time, c) s/(d/f) ele’s just aren’t as common, so it’s unlikely that the party is hitting 25 stacks consistently.

Oh great now I’ll have warriors replacing my 30s might stacks with 6s might stacks. If you see a S/D or S/F ele in your party please don’t use this trait.

High level fractal reward

It boggles my mind that temporary SAB content had a reward system that makes that of FOTM look like a complete joke. Here’s a simple solution that has been suggested time and time again: allow the purchase of ascended boxes/fractal weapons using fractal relics or pristine fractal relics (why are these even separate currencies?). That way you still have the RNG aspect of opening your daily chest while being guaranteed progress towards a reward of your choosing.

I’ve gotten Healer’s and Malicious shoulder chests doing 40/50s since the patch so it looks like there are 4 different categories (heal power, condi damage, offense, defense). On the bright side celestial was available as a stat choice in both these chests so I guess that I could make some use of that.

The way that Anet scales open world content is very strange. Ever tried the Inquest Mark II Golem with a small group? It takes about 5 minutes. However when the world boss train comes around that event takes a good 15 minutes or so.

I can’t account for what the other people at these events were doing or what builds they were running. Like I said there was no coordination. Personally however, I was using a staff on my elementalist fully optimized for dps (zerker gear, bloodlust stacks, vigil valiance buff, scarlet potion) and I believe that due to the low number of people present, my individual impact wasn’t diluted by the hoard of AFKers/nonressers that frequent these events. I’m on Yak’s Bend by the way. Not sure if anyone can vouch for me but I usually attempt the green knight at off peak hours with high rates of success.

I’ve found that the assault knights actually scale very favorably with low numbers. Over the past few days I’ve managed to consistently down knights with between 5-10 players. And these are completely random players who just happened to be at the event, no organization or anything. The hologram on the other hand scales very poorly with low numbers and Anet should have a look at that fight to make it more manageable for low populations.

How the heavys destroyed the fun in PvE

People who exclude certain professions in their LFG’s are usually terrible because they have no idea what each profession can provide to a team. That said, I think many of the issues you’ve described could be resolved if people were just more respectful of LFG listings or in your case were more proactive about forming their own groups. When I join a “p1” group with nothing else attached I don’t go in expecting an efficient run, but if I join a “exp speedrun” group or something along those lines I absolutely expect everyone in that group to pull their own weight (which means running meta builds and knowing the dungeon mechanics).

I also disagree with the idea that stacking requires no tactics or skill, because when I do living story content in the open world I always see people not making use of their class mechanics or even simple game mechanics (e.g. dodging, rallying). Do you think the guardians who don’t provide aegis or put up walls of reflection could get away with spamming staff autoattack in a dungeon setting where stacking is used? No, because people who don’t make the most of their profession in a 5-player setting where individual contributions are significant contribute to wipes and this is especially true in stacking situations. Have you ever tried playing a s/(d/f) lh elementalist in a PUG? Because I do so often and let me just say that it requires me to wring every last bit of utility from my profession to avoid seeing the floor on a regular basis.

It makes me sad.
Sure, it if fast and it works with those guardians, warriors and all the nice support and stuff they bring. But it is BORING AS HELL.
Everyone just wants his loot as fast as anyway possible, actually playing the game and having fun doing it isn’t important anymore.

What makes you think that isn’t fun for some people? I think of dungeons as obstacle courses. The first few times you do them sure it’s fun to explore the different mechanics, but once you’ve completed them what more is there to do but improve your time and do things as quickly and efficiently as possible? Personally I find it fun to chase my records.

What I mean is that since the release of lovestruck weapons their price has ranged from 40g-70g. Doesn’t make sense that they would be at their lowest right before ticket price increases.

Sword, dagger, and pistol are safe bets. Greatswords always have the highest supply so I’d avoid them.

On a related note does anyone know why lovestruck prices are so low on the TP right now? With the ticket prices rising tomorrow I’d expect the opposite to happen.

5g for the recipe and ~30g cost to make a one-time use consumable. This has to be an error right? The only way this could be even close to reasonable is if the stations were reusable.

Is Arms VIII Blademaster bugged?

in Warrior

Posted by: Kaldrys.1978

Kaldrys.1978

I was thinking it could be useful in a 30/25/0/0/15 dungeon build using axe/sword over axe/mace with this trait to get an extra 10% crit chance. Sword 4 also does high damage with its 2nd attack and sword 5 is a nice block.

What’s weird is that Strength X Axe Mastery, which is a similar trait, does show a change to crit damage when it is equipped.

Increases your critical-hit chance with a sword.

Critical Chance increase: 10%

There’s no change reflected in my critical chance % when I have this trait equipped and have a sword in either main hand or off hand.
