BG posters are making the entire server look bad. I’m not from any of these servers but I enjoy reading the updates for the T1 matchups. I’ve never seen more arrogant posting from 1 server as much as I’ve seen BG posters in these threads.
I agree. I’m not a part of any of these servers either, but enjoying the read. This is better (much better) than reality TV.

Would love a score update.

To the SoR group currently camping our spawn on the ET BG… do you really have fun doing this? Seriously?
Mixed group, not any one guild. 8-10, sometimes more. Just camping our spawn. How do you report this? There’s no option on the “report” menu for spawn camping.
Yes, apperently they must think that spawn camping is fun, because they seem to keep going with it. Yesterday SoR even builded ballistas and catapults in front of our spawn, God knows why.
They don’t even consider camping right in front of our spawn as spawn camping; oddly enough.
And, no, you can’t report childish people for acting childish.
It’s a pity you can’t build siege or have some other defences in spawn areas to help clean out “spawn campers”.

downed and defeated is working fine.
pls dun blame the game if u r unable to wipe out all the attackers effectively.
I agree. Not much needs to be done IMO but I would love to see these two things added;
- blanking the screen for dead players. If you’re dead you shouldn’t be able to see what is going on (prevents possible spying).
- Death penalty on rez/respawn such as 10% less damage accumulative which lasts say 5-10 minutes.
Tarnished Coast
To add one more issue around dying and rezzing. Dead players are used as scouts reporting back anything they see which takes away any surprise advantage teams have. There is nothing you can do about it because they are already dead.
Blank their screen or force them to map view while Dead after a short timeout of say 30 seconds.

There is nothing to report here. It is not illegal to sit out side our camps. This is a war game. SoR won this war and the front line is on our camp.

Good fight TC & ET, but I think we won this week. Best of luck on your upcoming fights…

I can see this is a bit tongue in cheek but I’ve enjoyed playing against SoR. We didn’t have the numbers to be competitive this week but we’ve learn’t some tactics from SoR and we’ve managed to capture and hold a couple of towers despite the best efforts from SoR.
It’s been good fun in the most part and I’m sure our server will continue to grow and give you a good run next time we meet.

WvWvW is the most fun I’ve had since Shadowbane. Although it lacks some of the aspects of what I enjoyed in that game, WvWvW is a breath of fresh air. Well done A/Net for bringing something like this to the masses.

Well, I like your response and it is encouraging that server members are attempting to take control of the situation. Reports like this give hope that we can change the behaviour of these individuals who think it fine to unbalance the game and affect the experience for 100’s of players.
Tarnished Coast
Good response. I like the idea of not taking others orbs but unfortunately, it is clear that some will take orbs by any means necessary and the only way it could be resolved is through a “Gentlemans Agreement” which I suppose is not something which is going to happen. Thought it was worth posting none the less.

I’ll start by stating, I’ve never seen “Orb Hacking” nor been involved in a successful attempt to obtain an Orb legitimately due to the time of night that I usually play. Recent games where any supposed “Orb Hacking” occurred against my server, the gap was large enough in points it really didn’t matter to the outcome.
I write this with no interest other than to see fair games being played. I feel this is a point that is worth discussing with my only hope that an outcome which might appease those who have been unfairly affected by this.
I’ve seen many posts relating to “Orb Hacking” where a server team is able to some how take the Orb off from an opposing team without confrontation. In defence, members from the server who “Orb Hacked” say it is individuals and is not condoned by the server.
Until A-Net fixes this exploit, the fair thing would be to return the orb some how. If that means you have to temporarily give up the tower holding the orb so be it.
If a server team hacks and they want to make things right, I’m sure there are ways to do this in game. If these servers are unwilling to make it right then, in my view, they are condoning the actions of the few.
Before someone else brings it, it is the opinion of many that the Orbs in their current state should be removed as it gives too much power to the server which is dominating. Again, this we would require ANet to act and this thread is not about any action on ANets part. There are many threads for that already.
What I would like to see discussed, is how we, as fair players respond and bring balance back to a game which has been unbalanced through hacking.

W3 is a game of domination. You need to dominate the opposition to win. If we can’t break their front line or work out another way around them then we don’t deserve for them to give us a free pass to roam the conquered landscape.
This is a war game between servers. Their server is better this week. Our will probably be better next week and we’ll be accused of camping spawns. It happens because that is where the fight is. That is part of the tactics of war.
I can’t play during peak times but is Spawn Camping happening on all maps or just 1 to a few of them. Most score updates show TC holding a few supplies and a couple of towers so some of us must be breaking through.
Tarnished Coast
@martillos I have no idea what is going on with the numbers in TC (and I can only play during the dead hours) but all I know is that last time I was on, we owned most of TC battle grounds even though SoR out numbered us. We took on and beat SoS last time we met them and we should be doing better against SoR. It might be that we are putting up the same number but SoR just have more. I would love to see the stats to see how many players we have on and how many are just doing the Halloween event.
Tarnished Coast
@danni Yer… I think I miss read you’re last post LOL. I’m not great with the pirate speak. I’ll stand Shoulder to shoulder with ya as we kick and keep out SoR out of our towers again.
Tarnished Coast
Absolutely. I will be there too, fighting to my last breath. At least we have something to do this week as opposed to last week when we were twiddling our thumbs. It doesn’t show on the score board but in the times I play we are very competitive even though it seems like only two servers are playing (sorry Eredon but I’m yet to even come across someone from your server [possibly unable to field an overnight group]).
Tarnished Coast
hehe, but you did give up the coast and I have the screen shots to prove it…. sure you got it back, but you will loose it again before the week is out…. regards TC!

Is building siege weapons on the edge of spawn actually something that would work or would they just be a waste of money and destroyed quickly by the bored dominating opposition?
By the way, I honestly don’t see a problem with the spawn camping. I’ve been on the receiving end of this many times. There is usually a way through. Either that or just move to another map where it isn’t being done (not normally an issue across all the maps). If the dominating server is complaining that they’re bored, just log off for an hour and you’ll have plenty to do.
The issue is mainly server population. Last night even under manned, TC took control of the TC borderlands map even though SoR with superior numbers tried every tactic known to man to get them back. It was an awesome show of strength from TC and I’m sure SoR really enjoyed that someone was standing up to them.
I can’t help but feel that if Eredon had a larger force SoR would not be as dominant as they are (obviously). TC can’t hold off the full force of SoR but if they had to fight two fronts things would be much different. SoR can deal with any single rebellion up rising but when enough people attack multiple targets it definitely makes things interesting for them. We only had pockets of 3-4 running around and one group of around 15. SoR had two groups of over 20 plus and many thief scouts running around but I bet anyone who was on at the time would have said it was a very fun battle.

The mesmer hides and the group taking the keep does not take care to clean it out. That is how it happens. Not a game exploit. Just a cleaver and sneaky use of skills.

Looking at http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA, there are a number of close matches and reading the forums, the reports are that it their sessions are working really well. There are a number of issues already being addressed in other forums relating to transferring of guilds which is upsetting the balance.
I’ve found, even when loosing, and loosing by a lot, you can usually still take a camp or two and smaller populated servers could always group up rather than being spread across all 4 maps to try and achieve something. Sure you’re not going to win that way but it was likely, if up against a higher populated server, you weren’t going to win anyway.
All I can hope is that the transferring between servers is sorted out, and some how the servers day population vs night population is some how sorted out.
Regardless of whether my server is being smashed, smashing, or having a close game, I still really enjoy WvWvW. It isn’t for everyone and can’t be disheartened by the score. Just enjoy the moments, the skimishes, the slaugher and the slaughtered. It is all part of the fun of PvP.
Tarnished Coast
.. and that is a pity for the game and caused an unbalance to both ET and Blackgate but that discussion is being had elsewhere in the forums.
Tarnished Coast
Yes! that is it. I knew there was something about the thief skills I didn’t like. It is the fact that they can use stealth in combat, while you are staring directly at them and trying to hit them.
I agree. Having stealth only work out of combat will fix many of the issues that thieves have.
Tarnished Coast
ET might not give much resistance since it seems they’ve lost many good guilds but I expect TC will battle to the end. TC also did quite favourably against SoS last time they met but both servers seem to have learnt quite a bit since that session.

I’m part of a small guild of around 20 players but we all around the same level and enjoying doing PVE together. We’ve found the party limit of 5 restrictive and end up having to control two groups of 3-4 players in each group. It is difficult to keep the two groups together at times because you can only see members of the other team on the map when they are quite close.
I would love to see the party sizes increased to 8 to accommodative the same sized groups as seen in Guild wars 1.
Alternatively, have a way to see all guild members on the map (although I can see that causing issues with larger guilds).
Buying a commander kit would be one solution so that everyone in the guild can have a point of reference but this is a very expensive solution for such a small guild.
A possible solution would be to allow Guild Leaders to have a similar beacon that only guild members can see. That would allow for guilds to work as a team easier without having commander dots all over the map (just imagining if many guilds started doing this).
Lastly, if it was possible to place a guild way point then this would also help co-ordinate guild members.
Our workaround is to have veteran members leading both parties and using known map reference points to keep both teams together although this is not always possible.

] sending them to the map screen or back to their original spawn location.
