We were missing a couple of our melee but it wasn’t excuse worthy. From fighting them, they really aren’t doing anything much different than us… they just did it better. Simply put, we got out played.

I am not sure why you feel the need to be disrespectful towards people giving you props for playing well. Is that a euro/culture thing or just a personality flaw?

The point I’m trying to make is that we totally not did the same, which isn’t meant disrespectful at all.
What is disrespectful is saying you guys did the same without even knowing what we did. Only by saying we ran a ‘’nasty melee train’’ you already point out that you’re wrong at our setup, let alone our tactics.

[SYN] Merged most of their remaining members into HIRE for better PvX play. SYN was never huge in the first place. They haven’t ‘collapsed’ they just moved into a larger community.

Samething goes for BG guilds but you don’t see any Blackgate calling SoR a Blackhole :P

Its called a Black hole for the sole fact that many guilds go there only to have their players A) move guilds B.) quit the game C) convert to pve
The thing is, however, it became a almost ritualistic occurrence on BG, hence the nickname the Black hole.

That’s untrue, although they did have some pve guilds merge into WvW guilds in the distant past…

You realize JQ got matched up with a t2 server right. They dont have nearly enough coverage to be compared to a t1 server, therefore your statement isnt viable lol

What does JQ being matched up with a T2 server have anything to do with it? JQ is a tier 1 server just as much as BG is and still lost even with SoR’s TW transferring there to help them.

We’ve all heard the complaints from SoR when BG was beating your server for a good 16 weeks. So far you’ve only heard Blackgates QQ for 7 weeks, try to be a bit more patient with them :P

SoR never complained as a majority and it’s a fact not hearsay. The reality is that majority of BG complains about both JQ and SoR so that counts as double.
The difference is not only that we have always overcome all the adversities but we got more motivated fighting against the stronger odds.
I think this is the best matchup that all 3 servers can have at the moment so let bygones be bygones and enjoy the fights.

Just wait till bg gets another 10 na guilds, 15 Sea/oceanic guilds, and about 30 euro guilds to transfer. Then they will show everyone what they are made of.

There’s a significant difference between getting 10 guilds with 5 people in each and 1 huge guild with over 400 people. Smaller guilds don’t make as big of an impact like larger guilds do.

If we were to compare the amount of guilds that transferred over between SoR & BG since the beginning; Blackgate would clearly win.

But if we compared the amount of people that transferred over between SoR & BG since the beginning; Sanctum of Rall would have more.

Since the (2v1) seems to be the excuse for losing a 10k lead. What then is BG’s response for building the 10k lead?

Anything can happen within 2 days… When Blackgate first beat JQ they were down in last place by over 20k and with 2 days left won the match in first place with about 30k to spare. Sure they lost the lead, but the match is far from being won on Tuesdays

Any idea when Red Guard & Tempest Wolves are going to GvG each other? They both seem to be really into that sort of thing.

On this note. This match would be an awesome opportunity to make a real GvG event, and even put some pressure on ANet for adding some support for GvG.

Last Sunday, we had about 200 people watching TW vs Iron, and I believe that the TW vs RG match is waaay more anticipated. Imagine if we could really get an event going, where all the main BG/SoR/JQ guilds would agree a cease-fire on one of the BLs, and go spectate that event. Then we could also have someone from a spectator point of view streaming (maybe even with a caster?), and also one person in each guild streaming (I think a couple in RG do this already).

If we had the date, and link to streams before hand, posted on forums/reddit/etc, I bet we could reach somewhere around 500 viewers. (How much have the SPvP tournies been getting?). Having a completely player run event , with 0 ANet support surpass the amount of viewers they get from SPvP would really make the ANet/NCSoft dudes turn their eyes to this kind of thing, hopefully speeding the process up a bit.

But ofc, I’m just an outsider, first thing we would need to have is TW/RG agree to it, before we start making a big deal out of it.

Just my 2 cents :P

I don’t think A-Net would do this… According to pcgamer, there were over 3million copies of GW2 sold. Sadly, I doubt a measly 500 viewers would motivate A-Net enough to create a legitimate GvG system.

If anything they’ll implement it in their first expansion, hopefully along with dueling & dare I say, personal trading :P

Pretty much this. I liked last week’s matchup though, that was one of the few where we catch JQ with their pants down and no server to latch their maws onto for a 2v1 week. Just look at the current score, SoR is the real monster here and the reason why JQ is ahead. Catch them alone with a server they haven’t met yet and they’re pretty much meat.

I want more of those just BG vs JQ. Or better yet just a World vs World match with the two of us and that’s it, no third server. No more bragging rights while holding onto Daddy SoR’s hands.

So BG must be so proud of a win over JQ during Dragonbash PVE fest ..with JQ focusing on Dragonbrand nonetheless…

It is not a “bug” to be “fixed”. It’s a deliberate mechanism to prevent clipping issues. But I do think certain facial hair styles would not cause said issues.

All I read was a bunch of players posting what they think… I’d personally prefer having A-Net say something about the issue than take some random persons word for it.

Actually with TC being able to beat both FA and DB, they’d be a great matchup against SoR & BG. But only time will tell whether or not that will actually happen…

If TC could manage to keep their fair-weather wvw’ers in the fight during a hard match up, sure. From talking to some peeps from TC their WvW population dropped signifigantly last week. If they could conquer that problem then I could see them moving up and contending some. They were just running into manpower issues a lot, couple times you would see them outmanned during NA times on certain maps.
I’d be willing to bet they will have ques on all four maps this week during NA.

With how well they are doing right now, hopefully that will get their players back into wvw and enable them to jump into T1 with bg and sor… but these matchups are soo unpredictable.

What exactly don’t you like about this match up?

Well, if you think about it… Blackgate vs JQ s SoR has been going on for 14 straight weeks (excluding last weeks matchup) and this would make it our 15th out of 16 total weeks that our three servers are together.

I can see where this guy is coming from, all he is asking for is a different opponent… Perhaps put TC in JQ’s place since they are T1 worthy as well.

True. Still, with respect to JQ, they don’t look like imploding, not in the way that SoS did when it started losing.

Which reminds me I’m stuck on acronyms, perhaps you can help?
I got to SoKG (Sea of Kainengate) and realised I couldn’t make a decent acronym anymore from all the servers that have gone there without making it look cluttered.

So i decided to change tact and rather than looking at acronyms i decided a colloquial expression was more appropriate and went with: Black hole.

Sounds like someone really dislikes Blackgate… Did you forget that SoR got just as many transfers from SoS? :P Since your talking about acronyms, heres one for you; (SoSBI) Sanctum of Sorrow’sBluffIsle. Not as catchy as yours, but just as accurate.

I believe the score between Blackgate and Sanctum is 16-7… Sanctum still has a ways to go before they can do any talking.

Are there any updates regarding whether or not Arena Net has a plan to use this in the near future?

It seems as though they would have the potential to significantly change the WvW game play for the better if they were reinstated for their original purpose &/or tweaked to how the developers feel WvW should be played. I’d rather have Arena Net do something to it than just let it sit there and have no purpose at all.

This should be an easy question & I would love to get a response fromDevon about this issue soon; I know many other people have been wondering this very thing ever since the orbs of power were taken out months ago. Thanks!
