I wouldn’t worry about it too much, anyone with any sense knows that there will be a few cheaters and idiots on every server, Piken Square will have some, Gandara and Augury Rock and the same with every other server in GW2.

It might be irritating but over all they make very little difference just an annoyance now and then when you have to retake something but hey ho its fun to take stuff anyways o/

PS has now met about 20 of the 26 other server and to date they have all been fine with a general positive and friendly and sporting feel about them infact its been pretty impressive how chilled and friendly most match threads are imo.

I fraps’d it with the gates on full hp and my lvl 25 warrior getting stuck in there and wiping them. big shout out to Daenerys Firestorm [TlTS] and Lucky Anello [BBSV] for saving the day and then Thorkjempe [SU] and Linking [CMG] for saving our kitten :P

I also have to admit that when the group were exploiting I may have warned a former Gandaran who is now on Piken of the coming sneak attack. Needless to say they were killed just in time. Not proud of the betrayal but despite being war, there are rules of engagement and they must be adhered to!

BOON Control are a solid WvW guild, we have 100 members and 5 nights a week run a 4 hour WvW raid during Prime Time seiging Keeps and Towers etc vs actual players and defenders.

We are currently looking for players who want an organised and very active WvW guild to WvW in who are also part of a organised and healthy WvW server / WvW Community and like to fight hard and take objectives with resistance and by force, some examples of how we like to play every night, not just the “best of” can be seen below.

Piken Square (EU) server, is our home we are currently T3 which is pretty good considering the server is one of the smallest in the EU still dropping back to Med population so while we have a very strong Prime Time due to the large amount of strong WvW guilds on the server we are not bothered by ques or large ques during Prime Time allowing us to play as a guild with ease yet still have decent opponents to fight and certainly opponents with loads of numbers!

The server has its own WvW community website up and running http://pikensquare.info/ and weekly meetings with the guilds to discuss plans for the next match up. The server has no plans for mass recruiting of guilds, prime time or off peak to push to T1 etc it is quite happy where it is playing competitive and pretty much drama free WvW every week and has a good relationship with all servers.

To be fair the WvW maps are capped, I think the issue is more that in all games / servers if you not winning the “randoms” who add to the numbers find other things to go do.

PS is back at Medium Population again this week vs Very High Full servers aiming for Teir 2 so for large parts of the day when the PS WvW guilds are sleeping / at work etc they pretty much have no chance or maps are flipped over and a few randoms porting in and out can’t do anything and just leave.

We see it every night, we login maps are all taken we pick a map port in, Outmanned buff, we take a few things, we lose outmanned buff, we take a keep or two we get a few more in.

This makes the other server look even more zergey and bloby, because they only have one thing to aim for the WvW guild raid so yeah a 20-30 man guild raid will get 40-60 player blobs chasing them because they are the only thing to chase focusing the whole map onto them.

So yeah the other servers may feel zergy but it has as much to do with PS’s makeup as anything they are doing, players go where the action is if we are only flagging 1 or 2 places then we can only expect the full focus of their numbers on us.

But hey the good news is unlike Warhammer Online or Aion etc if you were in a server mis-match like this the losing side players get frustrated and quit, the winning sides get bored with nothginto fight and quit,, here this friday new match up more balanced opponents more fun throughout the day and night as well as prime time everyone happy again.

This is why WvW rankings were made and server rematching, it keeps the servers fighting evenly and to keep players happier and retain them!

yeah Vii told us to head to kodash BL for this but we were already in EB, we never raid there but for a change BOON thought we go there and have a mess about with Afterlife.

A big /cheer to everyone at Kodash Valley Keep absolutely insane fight to take it so many players and so many ppl dying, I am sure some ppl were getting seasick and the number of downed / rallies going on. Great fight down in the corner all night from Kordash and Elona loads of three way action \o/ So gg all.

Had to call our raid so we all rushed Kodash spawn,,, I made it to foot of steps but we didi find out if u make it inside you get teleported back to your spawn :o

Elona just bought 50+ guys to fight 10, then made 5+ cata + ballista’s to take a tower with 4/5 people in it, me and some guy from VII stood across the bridge from them and they wouldn’t come fight the two of us….. if this is what it takes to be high tier server id rather stay in tier 4. GL Kodash maybe we will be in the same tier next week at least they fights will be fun

Yeah we were forced to split your guys coming in the main gate built siege on the bridge that was hammering us so I rushed BOON over to clear it which we did but cost us half the raid with the seige in boss room shooting into our backs at same time by time we got back in it was all going downhill, still great fights inside there.

Next week will be fun, we met Kodash last week and had lots of good fight there, but yeah PS core see prime time fun > server ranking so we kinda short on numbers outwidth that times so expecting to "take a beating " in WvW scores but have fun during prime time as always, but yeah T3-6 is good enough for us nice fights with no drama, stress or ques :P

BOON ported to Citidel to come defend Woodhaven as we ran to Woodhaven our scout spotted you golems hitting Outer door.

We quickly wiped the 5 or so I assume flagging at woodhaven as a distraction and ran into Bay but you melted the door so fast and we figured we would be well out numbered so I called for us to stop and go up and hide on the green cliff bit in the NE corner of Inner bay as we did u capped so would never have got inside inner in time anyways – basically you didn’t scout us or the scout missed us as ~25 of us "turtled on my icon with our fingers crossed. So yeah didn’t even use a portal although I think we did portal 4 guys close by.

As we hit your inner door you guys hit Garrison water gate,, we stuck to Bay and yelled for everyone to hold Garriosn. Then you got even more bad luck as we capped the Garrison waypoint was 15 secs of cooldown and we all ported into Boss room and hit you all from the side to add insult to injury :/ sorry, we almost felt bad!

Thanks for posting the screenshots of how Piken enters prime time in the real EU because if you kept taking screenshots for the Main EU prime time you’d get to see us going from 150 – 400 down to 280 – 245 up during Prime Time against fully upgraded Keeps with actual defenders!

So yeah thanks for giving us the oppertunity to show how well PS does during Prime time in WvW that required you to fight your way into Keeps and Towers.

You should adjust your clock by 1 hour ahead, so you are out of British prime time and in to CET aka EU prime time, then you’ll see that your usual play time is well in to the night aka Night time capping.

yeah cause the score at the end of the evening is night capping, we were at 130ish at 7pm my time, when PS main guilds start thier raids, so 8pm yours, and 3-4 hours laters the scores are flipped thats calling evening capping, if at 11pm CET we were at 130 and by 1am CET it was 300 I’d get your point but 9 times out of 10 by 1am we have lost the score we build up throughout prime time.

BTW why are you so butthurt about PS? cause very post you make is angled against it? Must be some reason for it and I missed it.

btw the EU T4 WvW Community is great, no drama, lots of back slapping and nice chats about the game and fights o/

Yeah culling is a nightmare now, as a raid leader i can’t even see my own raid anymore let alone another guilds or raids close by so now you have no idea what you are fighting and also no idea who is fighing with you, talk about playing blind, at least when you could see your own side you at least knew what you were fighting with now we know nothign and just have to hope your raid has stuck with you and the others around you are doing thier jobs as you have no idea anymore.

As for Riverside dying, well Piken has now played all the way from T9 through to T4 and yeah its play style has damaged alot of servers, low ranked, low pop server with a very strong Prime Time, ppl expect to beat it and they do in “WvW scores” due to off peak capping, but they get sickened getting wiped time after time all evening by organsised guild raids, which like cause drama and frustration tbh as it can’t be fun seeing your map turned over night after night and find your score sub 200 during prime time as you huddle inside your last keep / tower hanging on for when they go to bed.

People like to have success while they are in the WvW maps and kill ppl not look at a WvW score at the end of the week and go oh look we won, ie WvW scores do not make players happy, losing all your stuff when you are online, and getting killed time after time does make players unhappy.

Piken has lost plenty of WvW matches up against higher new ranked busier servers but if they stay the same Tier for long it has a habit of grinding them down and breaking morale and breaking that server due to the beatings it can give out during prime time night after night.

We met Piken in the first couple of weeks of release and I have never faced another server like it since and we must have meet 19 of the other 26 EU servers now, but it comes down to it being a bit of a freak server, Offical Role Play server, with 8-12 WvW guild raids running about in WvW during prime time who can switch maps in an instant, ok not so much now, population is growing so EB and PS BL is hard for guilds raids to go to now.

I still think PS is on borrowed time now and likely turn into a new FOTM server and max out WvW ques and prevent the guilds raids it has always had during prime time and then be like any other busy server.

Looks like you can’t see the videos I posted above either were plenty of defenders there.

Just a quick shout out to everyone on RS BL last night, we’d had enough of farming AR BL the past ew nights and got sick of seeing RS sit in thier pretty fully upgraded map so thought we would pay them a vist with others and turn it to wood for fun.

Nice hold out at Hills first time round and kudus for all the effort RS and AR put in at attackign garrions and bay after we had the three keeps undercontrol, some nice threeway action inside the inner garrison at times, real crazy stuff, so much fun o/

Too bad we lose it all 5 mins after we call the raid, but thats life on PS and we wouldn’t have it anyother way tbh.

PS my fav keep takes we had last week vs FSP plenty of defenders there and no golems! But yeah no doubt the germans can even see them,, bah

I have to agree tbh we steamrolled their BL on reset and 100%‘d their map, they were there but just just didn’t seem to be able to put up much resistance.

Then on Saturday night we went into FR BL and took Riverside’s Hill Keep and decided to camp it and omg it turned into a wipe night for them.

First 4 wipes on the bridge to the boss room, stopped at the door, HoB comes in from behind and BOON pushes out at same time, after the second time we were man they did it again, after the fourth time we were wtf! So we started to see where else we could wipe them from after that, hiding behind the door, above the steps was just crazy but kudos to them they kept on coming all night relentlessly and they got the keep at the end of the day, 5 mins after we all left o/

Jame made a movie, but there was so much wiping she had to make it 20 mins to try and fit it all in!

Yeah that was a truely epic fight, had quite a few now, win some cheer, lose some, and omfg, lets try that again!

In fights like that and sieges like that no one loses its all great fun o/

Had some pretty epic Inner Keep fights last night on FSP Borderlands and was after omg I wish I had fraps’d those, turns out a member had.

We had so many hard Inner Keep fights this week defending and attacking I thought I’d throw it up here.

Last night just after Bay had fallen I was moving BOON up to assualt Woodhaven and looked at map and VII and Necr were inside Hills for the past 30 mins, HoB was ramming Garrison as a distraction and told the raid on TS, man I’d hate to be the poor guys trying to counter all this all night, they gonna get a good work out o/

You guys dug deep and did a great job making the Keep takes and Tower takes hard and managing to hold out at garrison using minimal Seige gear and lots of PvP in the boss room etc and weather the storm.

I still think HoB spent more time inside Garrison Keep last night than the Kodashians did! lol gg

Was a good fight in Kodash Borderland, brutal defences at the Woodhaven was great fun.

nah more like there not been a new FOTM server for a couple of weeks give it time and a few mass migrations will kitten everything up again.

Lock free transfers now!!!! DO IT! WvW ranking is working as intended to show who is the best pvpers, wait I mean matching similiar balanced servers, doh!

The T4-7 areas were all pretty good recently, no blowouts for over a month for us on any match up

Indeed Screen, BOON had a great night last night in Kodash BL, got there to find Jolly and INS, HoB and AFTL and the four guilds and others proceed to turn their entire upgraded map from green to red in 2 hours flat.

I always love that last battle in Garrison where all the defenders are focused and you have to bute force yur way in and it takes a few attempts, salute to all the Kodash defenders.

lol too bad we lost the entire map with in 15 mins of porting out but hey ho thats Life in Piken for you and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Kodash you have a Ranger in Titans of Revolution that’s using the must obvious hacker out teleporting / speed hacking all over the place in front of 30 ppl lol, mass report!

Hope all is going well and your having fun as always and getting some nice smaller scale fights etc you guys like, there are guilds like BOON that will be moving about in a 30 man raids during Prime Time, but hey we do split of groups for objectives, supplies etc and Piken has a lot of nice smaller guilds that move about in 5-10 man groups so you should find a nice mix of fights flaoting about as te guilds all tend to move about in thier own guilds most of the night all being well.

Edit – Hang on I was right I am saying the Euros are 1 hour ahead so for me thier prime time is 6pm to 10pm my time, which is ofc 7pm to 11pm their time. oh my head hurts.

Prime time to me is 7pm to 11pm for where ever you live. I am UK so GMT so the Euros Prime time for me would be 6pm to 10pm for them as they are 1 hour ahead of me.

I tend to take a screenshot of themap we are in and score each night at 9pm-10pm and look at it and go that is how well we did and the server as whole did against those server when everyone is on.

What happens outwith these hours, meh not really relevent to us we are old, work, wife kids, so not really bothered what happens when we are not there and certainly not going to kill ourselves or end up divorced over it, just let WvW rankings match us up with a similair populated server and enjoy.

We saw you helping out on JS BL last night, helped a lot so gg you for stepping up and giving it a go.

People shouldn’t really care about what happens off peak, there is nothing you can do about it either you have off peak players or you don’t, if players stopped migrating the WvW ranking system would do what its intended for “matching equal servers so we get endless balanced server fights” saying that the past 3-4 weeks the WvW has got alot better and the fighs more epic and balanced.

Prime Time was pretty epic last night, BOON tried to do a last stand in AR borderlands while others went to try get Piken Borderlands under control, died alot but omg some serious scraps inside keeps, Hills was epic had both AR and JS inside it and doors down for 30+ mins great fun confirming threeways are more fun :o

We can’t up our game when we are at work mate. We can only coem home, login and beat the crap out of them and take all back. o/

But hey that’s why we love Piken, No ques at prime time, kick the crap out of server, log off lose everything come back next night and repeat.

So what tactic do you recomend? Which tactics aren’t cheap, that is easilly to explain for new/unused WvW-Players?

I’m really open for pikens pro-tactic and if you explain it easy enough I might try to introduce AM to them. But shouting “cheat” “cheap” “poor” and “disgraceful” without naming alternatives is poor itself. Believe me we would also often really like to run around with big guild groups where you know each name, his class, if he got blueprints or not etc.. but our raidlears are working with what they got.. and just running around aimless and getting whiped by BOON isn’t what pugs really enjoy.

You likely saw the state of PS Borderland tonight? At one point I ported in to see wtf was happening, no commanders and only one small guild group, loads of omg get here and help etc.. went to port 30 man BOON raid in, 1 person gets in and que…. I am erm 150 ppl and they 1 tower the guild just took and no keeps on their Borderland vs one server.

So I gave them the this pro tactic, which was pretty much, 150 ppl kittening about doing jack kitten, go apply to a organised WvW guild that raids that way you can do it youselves and make a difference and have alot more fun doing it too.

WvW isn’t fair, and never will be, people have to adapt to what they meet, be it turtles, culling, portals, big guild raids, if your losing to big guild raids, make big guild raids and even the playing field cause while they are winning and farming kills they are not going to change.

Anyways as already said the Piken up to last week is almost gone now our strong WvW guild raids are now diluted, qued etc, another influx week like we just had and it will just become like another random server, but no point complaining we had a good 6 weeks or so, and it won’t change anything, either live with it or leave and try find a new home to try and recreate it again.

Funny when the GH guilds bailed this week we were OMG we helped break a server :/ , ironic that it fact the server being broken was our own! lol.

So.. guilds like BOON, Necr and VII want face to face fights.. so tell me how should our leader inside the TS face your guild-group with 25 people from different guilds who have never really player together? If you want us to stand around naked and shout “please hit me and loot me hard” then do that.. I think you are just pissed because the turtle makes it harder for you to kill our randoms.

Speaking for BOON, we don’t care about people turtling when raiding to date we have killed 100% of turtles be it in the open a supply camp on our gate in the boss room attacking and defending, my personnel view is very clear, working as intended until they patch it otherwise.

As for culling, rendering, portaling whine? It’s part of the game people have to deal with and l2fightinvisables! The sole reason in my videos I run about at front spamming staff skill one is to see the numbers and figure out where they are and make the call on TS and let the raid deal with them.

Its not our job to tell other peple how they should play the game, its open world pvp people can do whatever they please, just like we do ourselves and would tell anyone telling us how we should play to go and take a big long lick so would expect the same back.

As above, what we speculate and discuss in our TS, private forums, guild chat etc is one thing, what we are prepared to call out as a fact is another and I can’t recall any BOONs posting anywhere about AM cheating etc? If they have I have missed it.

Every server has cheats, people just need to seperate a communuty from idiots rather than branding entire servers.

What time were you camping PK in AM Borderlands?

Just asking to get a better idea of where I can fit the BOON raid in tonight, we don’t raid Wed’s and so far this week we have pretty much failed to get into any competative BL at the start of Prime Time.

The 40 man spawn zerging Corran talks of might have been us on Tuesday, we went into that map early because it was under pressure to a 30-40 man AM Turtle group tyring to force their way into the map, by time they gave up and the BOON raid had formed everywhere was qued and 30+ BOONs were stuck on Piken Square BL for the night, called the raid very early due to boredom.

I have no problem holding my hald up and say we diliberatly try and spanw camp server and build siege etc to make them gtfo the map due to us being a med server with no off peak, and knowing the second we leave everything would be taken back in 30 mins, these days, the off peak has improved alot so that level of deterence is not really needed and tbh PS needs to start losing again, lol yeah lose!

We did discuss for a while porting back to the Citadel and waiting 20 mins for them to take some stuff and get more ppl flowing into the map and then counter attack and maybe get a good fight going, but meh we had done that in Aion and it didn’t work there :/ Maybe next time.

Well if tonight was any sign of the impact of all these transfers, we certainly felt it.

Primetime in EB was stressful as hell. We had little organisation, chaos everywhere. Everybody in Piken normally knows what to do but it just felt as though we had a lot of clueless ones here this night.

Was the same for AM borderlands last night BOON jumped on extra early but even then 10+ spent +1 hour quing and Tainted at one point even gave up trying.

Left BOON, a decent sized group of Nerc and mix of others trying to take down three upgraded Keeps and AM were not gonna give up lightly.

Our golems helped take Bay and Hills but we had to teb our way into garrions as golems too damaged for both gates, we were under so much harrassment form AM we could not leave and must admit I was raging while BOON treb garrison we lost both south towers, Hill and Bay to GH dispites Nerc’s and a few others best effort, I was WTF are then 100 other people doing? Other than blocking out half my raid and Tainted from WvW.

Rushed it inside garrison and got owned being stupid and had to start again from scratch at 8.30pm and took it all back again but by this time Tainted had managed to get into the map in decent numbers as did the rest of the BOON and fresh assult of AM garriosn ensued with a massive fight that lasted a good 45mins or so inside.

This was the second night in a row AM Garriosn has had the most awesome and hard fought fight inside it so big Kudos to AM defender they really dug in and threw everything at us including the kitchen sink!

But yeah here’s hoping thing settle back down to normal for Piken and people move on, really hope we lose bad next week and go back down!

PS – As for the hackers target them and right click and report them nothing much the other server can do about them and you can’t judge a server based on the actions of a few idiots as every server has a few idiots.

To stop the player hopping all they do is add,

Pay to server transfer, discount from High to Low WvW que servers
Can’t play the remainder of that weeks WvW
1 month cool down

There sorted, the sever hopping will slow down dramatically, the WvW ranking system which was designed to match equal strengthed (ie population and time zone spread,, oh and slight influence with player skill).

Thus WvW should become pretty balanced with the server with night cappers all fighting eachother, and all the high pop servers fighting each others, the small servers with strong guilds all fighting eachother and the very weak quiet servers all fighting eachother.

So yeah its not the scoring system or any game mechanic thats the issues with WvW rankings its out of control player migration thats the problem creating FOTM server at the expesne of other servers.

Likey due to Piken’s Strong Prime time to compliment it and make a nice small strong server, which it did. BOON and AFTL were also on Vabbi back in the day and moved down the rankings then to join Piken then so might have influeneced a little too as they know some guilds here.

But the Russians were only half the story, the Piken night time players started a small informal nightshift that came together and got a bit more organised for this match up and has remained.

The AM guys weren’t joking when they said they would just wait for 11pm and do the “piken guild raids have logged lets take back all the stuff until they come back in 18 hours raid” We fought Piken for a week hold the map at 7pm and it was a matter how much you could limit thier 4 hour onslought knowing that by 10-11pm you could eventually take back all the map for over night when they logged thier WvW raids and we figured that out in 2-3 days, servers like AM have had 3-4 match up with Piken.

The russians coming and this was good news as it keeps us fighting high pop servers so plenty of people to fight too far down then the wvw interest is so ow you take thier stuff in a hour and by the end they have either swapped map on you or left WvW entirely leaving you to stand doing nothing.

Yeah well BOON couldn’t even get into AM BL tonight and ended up stuck in PS BL baby sitting it doing nothing or queing as I am doing the past hour good kittenen game

While losing a strong and dedicated WvW Seige guild is a loss I didn’t think RG leaving would make much of a difference tbh, mainly because they played off server so much the previous weeks, the weeks we went from T8 to T6 they were spending half the week off the server or indeed fighting against the server! and we still won every night regardless.

There are 4 Maps and we would dominate all 4 every night prime time, well they were only on one and usually not alone, so there was always plenty other people dominating the other 3 maps.

It would be exactly the same if BOON or one of the many strong WvW guilds on Piken left now, it would make little difference to the overall server as your talking about a 20-35 man raid out of 600 players prime time. The server can have 8-10, 20-30 man guild raids going at the same time every night working together and working well with the randoms who are used ot the same people every night.

Us getting flooded with randoms and masses of guilds coming from servers we beat during prime time to join our prime time, will block the WvW guilds from getting on and doing thier thing during prime time and our prime time will just become the same old clusterkitten of the full/high pop servers leaving us to rely on our off peak which is still pretty small.

Result back to T8 with ques, messed up community and no way to do proper guild raids in WvW = no reason to stay.

Why are they coming to Piken? It simply doesn’t have the population to go up much further and if it does explode and starts moving up with ques and loads of idiots and whinners BOON will be looking down the rankings for a new server tbh.

I don’t know why ppl let “winning” and “losing” in WvW score bother them so much, unless your the Number One server in the EU then every second week you should lose. on average, so get used to it.

The WvW rankings are here to prevent server mismatches, and try avoid it killing the game like Warhammer and Aion etc where one side would eventually crush the other, they all quit,, the winners get bored quit, server mergers after 6 months, repeat, 12 months game dead…

WvW ranking let the servers get rebalanced they just need to lock down transfers perminately and make ppl pay to move and let the WvW ranking match up the servers as intended for awesome fun.

Mismatches only occur now due to players en mass moving about, like Blackgate, Blacktide etc which cause massive misbalances when it happened.

The fact we have had such good fights the past few weeks is due to the three server beign so well balanced for eachother, Guilds and people moving will screw that up ><

Zerges u can’t zerge there is a map cap 150 players? so your by default your always 150 players vs 300….

Last I looked AM and GH are HIgh Pop and PS is still Med and as I type this I am in AM Garrison fighting off both AM and GH with the OUTMANNED BUFF that means there are three times as many of you as there us. fact.

So yeah PS a zerge server your having a laugh.

No I was meaning GH -BL,, about 30mins after that was when we chose to switch to AM BL to attack and the red stuff

I dunno what happened around the Camp and Tower, as BOON was kinda stuck up North in Garrison, I went for dinner and came back to be amazed we still have garrison and that others had trebbed down teh outer wall was a massive Piken zerge on inner door runnign out of supplys so pulled BOON in the build another 3 rams and help cap it with like 60-70 ppl? ouch

And yeah I agree even if they had not attacked I doubt we could have taken Bay as well, we planned to see how long we could stay alive in there and just trash everything we could without getting ourselves killed :P

Aw, sweet, he uses sarcasm. I just like how the second one with only one tower left on the map gets focused by both. I dont accuse anyone of making any alliances. There just were some weird situations.

I am pretty sure I made that call to try and get you to quit the map so we can turn our focus onto GH and make them quit the map so we can sit and RP tea and crumpets in a suitable tower.

AM will likely get focused by Piken so we can be first and then by Gunner cause they have given up on first and chasing second, so yeah I would suspect AM is getting focused more, but if your taking cloak and dagger stuff well BOON don’t know of any.

But yeah BOON was in GH BL and AM was only 100pts behind Piken on scores so we switched to AM BL to break up the nice three upgraded keeps etc and knock down your score on purpose we went from about 10k in the lead to 15k, so worked as intended, sorry.

Infact this afternoon actually GH saved AM, Piken had taken Hills, Garrison and we were inside Bay getting ready to work it over when GH became active and started attacking hills. From then on making it impossible to cap the three keeps and after that as all we did was run back and forth trying to save both keeps with no time to resupply so yeah things started getting crazy because we had to leave keeps with no doors at times to try and save other ones resulting in some crazy three way action at times.
