Dumb. You people don’t want people to complain before these things happen because “they might turn out different”.

Then you don’t want them to complain when they don’t turn out different because “It was just released and they might change it”.

And then the changes never happen and the people who are still trying to complain about it are told that it’s too late for changes now and maybe it’ll be better in the next expansion.

No. If the players don’t like something then it’s important that they make themselves heard – as soon as possible.

A good explanation but at least in my case it doesn’t quite fit.
I’ve counted the number of dyes of a particular hue on my characters and it does fit my observation.
With that being said, yeah i guess it’s just a really bizzare coincidence.

I agree. Necromancers feel a bit unfinished in that respect.
Personally i wouldn’t mind a few … flashier effects.
Many spells just don’t feel very satisfying to use, to me.

Considering how fear was originally the necromancer’s big thing (Just like confusion was originally the mesmer’s thing) it’s kinda sad to see how thieves, warriors and even ranger pets have better fear than necros.
If Anet insist on giving the necro only short fears then there should be more frequent access to it to compensate – although that wouldn’t help with fearing people off of points in SPvP.

So after leveling my third character I’ve started to notice something strange.
My guardian found loads of blue dyes.
My Engineer mostly brown.
And my necro tons of green.
A friend who plays a mesmer has told me he found mostly pink dyes.
Now, i was wondering – has anyone noticed something like that?
It could just be a really strange coincidence but it seems a bit like you actually get more of the color your class is ‘connected’ to.
If this is true I’m guessing warriors get more orange/yellow, rangers more green, eles more red? and thiefs more black and gray?

Again, this could just be a really bizzare coincidence so let me know about your experiences with this

You think you have problems with your rez skills. Try the guardian one – You don’t have it so bad in that department. It revives a single downed person nearby with an equally long cast time , longer cooldown and no secondary effects.

Engineer is Perfect as it is. As for the kit non-sense about no sigils for kits I have to say I hope they never bring sigils for kits because they would be extremely overpowered. As they currently are they deal alot more damage than other professions. Don’t you think they would have thought about the lack of sigils for engineer when they designed the class. Stop trying to make it what you want an Engineer to be. This is the Engineer, if you don’t like it leave it.

There is so much wrong with this i don’t even know where to begin.
First of all saying that all kits deal a lot more damage than other professions is just a straight up lie. The grenade kit does very viable damage especially for it’s range but if you think the rest does you need to try some other classes.
Second, the lack of sigils has already been acknowledged as a problem that they want to fix.

The engineer is by no means a bad class but has it’s fair share of problems.
Failing to acknowledge those problems is just as bad as what you are complaining about.

The fact remains that you get nothing for the actual support.
You are supporting people at the front-line with your boons, sure – but that’s not what you get rewarded for – it’s the damage that gives you tokens.
Problem is that everything i put into support leaves less room for things that DO give rewards – so there really needs to be something in place to account for that.

With Guardians excellent melee and superior support capabilities it would be overpowered to make them as powerful at ranged combat as their soldier counterpart the Warrior – who lacks the support and defensive abilities of the Guardian.

Reducing yourself to attacking straw men now? That’s poor.

Okay? You claim guardians have “excellent melee” capabilities and “superior support” capabilities yet the warrior can do these things just as well but warriors can have ranged weapons and guardians can’t.

You furthermore claim warriors lack defensive and supportive abilities which is nonsense. They are as capable of supporting as any guardian and they can become just as tanky. They simply have to trait and gear for it – just like guardians.
And then you seem to believe that the guardian can be everything at once – tanky, supporty and yet still do high damage – and that they can’t.

Guardians aren’t a weak class by any standards but if you compare the two classes then do it properly.

Oh hey also – Even D’n’D Paladins could use ranged weapons. I’m not sure which paladin exactly you are comparing guardians to? The WoW ones maybe?

Oh yeah. Poor warriors and their lack of support and defense.
I guess having some of the best sustainable healing on paper isn’t good enough for them.

Here: Get “Vigourous Shouts” and “Lung Capacity” then your 3 shouts with the lowest cooldowns. The base heal will be around 1k but with an almost 1:1 scaling on them you’ll probably end up somewhere around 2.3k giving you around 7k per 24 seconds in addition to the benefits of the shouts.

Or: Go banner support. The scaling on the tactics heal is great. 15k / ~60 sec plus the other benefits of the banners.

You go ahead and build a class cannon guardian for your “excellent” melee and see how long you survive. I’ll wait here…

Personally I’d like badges to be distributed via the events.
I think it would encourage actually doing the objectives instead of the zerg vs. zerg battles that contribute nothing and seem to happen all too often as of late.
I’m not sure if it would entirely solve the support problem but it would help a bit i think.

Personally, as i see it – the problem is that the scepter alone equals 3 skills – that’s not enough for it to be the main ranged weapon for the guardian. You best bet is to pair it either with the focus or the torch – neither of which is a really good ranged weapon.

Having a real 2-handed ranged weapon would allow for proper balance in my opinion.

That being said, i find the current scepter to be really boring to be honest.
It just feels very uninspired and bland to me – in addition to the fact that it’s really not effective at 1,200 range.
So yes, I’m most definitely a bit biased.

You say it’s by design.
It was in fact stated that they want us to have viable ranged options in one of the BWEs.
Every other class has options for either short or long range combat.
The engineers toolkit is not their only “melee” weapon. The rifle is meant for short to mid-range combat. Then there’s the bomb kit too.

Fact is, lack of proper ranged options is a problem.
Most notably in WvW as you mentioned.

“In reality the place it needs ranged in WvWvW when defending a keep. But that means the Guardian should be the one on a Cannon or Oil because of the natural regen and other stats and gear like Heavy Armor.”

So , apart from the fact that you believe people will let guardians use these things because they’re guardians, you think it’s a good idea to have one class be excluded from proper keep defense (or any form of proper ranged combat)?

Please don’t mix up your own ideas about the class with the design behind it. You don’t know what they were thinking and neither do i – but i do not claim to know what they we’re thinking.

Okay, gonna put this into a spoiler tag, just in case (It’s about the event you mentioned).
The event you were talking about later on leads you to a glowing wall past some oozes. The NPC you're trying to save in that event will open it and it'll lead into the centaur camp up north where you have to fight a few centaurs.

Now, I’m still not entirely sure if we’re talking about the same thing or not but this is all i can think of

I did not expect the ranged options to be this bad – It’s a problem that needs to be addressed.
I honestly couldn’t care less if it’s a longbow or a rifle or a flippin’ sling.

People seem to have this idea that all classes should be able to do the same things. I don’t.

I kinda remember A.Net mentioning that they do in fact want everyone to be viable in every situation. This is why the trinity is gone.

Giving guardians a viable ranged weapon hardly means that all classes should be the same. It simply means that guardians would have a viable ranged weapon.

Who’s to say that it wouldn’t fit in with the rest of the guardian?
It would probably end up with a fair amount of support skills on it.

Limiting classes to a certain range in a game like this is simply bad.
If you honestly think that i should have less fun in WvW because of my class choice then i don’t know what to tell you.

The random boon on the runes of lyssa triggers when the healing kit is equipped, not when an actual healing skill is used.
I’m guessing they didn’t account for kits in the healing slot and just treat every skill in the healing slot as “healing skill”.

It’s unfortunate that supporting really does not give you any rewards.
I think the entire reward system in WvW needs some work but giving guardians a proper ranged weapon would help meanwhile.
Yeah , you can go melee but personally i enjoy large scale battles more – and charging into the enemy zerg will get you killed real fast.
Besides, when defending something, melee is not really an option either so we’re left with plinking away at the enemy with our little scepter – not very satisfying.

Try being in Australia and using ground targeted skills, it’s not too bad in PvE, because enemy movement is more predictable, but in PvP it’s virtually impossible to land hits with the latency….

For a moment i thought this was gonna end in one of those ‘upside down’-jokes.

In any case, people don’t understand that you can not both be super tanky and do high damage.
They simply assume that we somehow magically keep this tankyness (is that even a word?) when we go for full out damage and I’m not sure why that is.

But this is baffling. What is this magical ability to survive that everyone assumes is there all the time?

Is it the shields? Is it the shouts? What really defines it?
If i take shields and shouts and i want to do primarily damage that’s wasted slots right there (Exception being one shout or so to break stuns). Not to mention that i probably won’t have the traits to support those properly.
Those slots i have dedicated to defense can’t be used for offense.

It seems to me that people assume that we somehow magically posses this additional survivability that no one can actually pin down. Surely it does not come from the Virtues?

Why was the blast finisher on Big Ol’ Bomb removed anyway?
I’m not sure what’s so powerful about single blast finisher every 30 seconds from it.

It seems kinda random that all of the explosives hardly have any blast finishers.

I don’t know why people go on about how we’re the most durable melee class and hence can not have good ranged abilities.

If you want to be “the most durable melee class” you need to gear and spec for it.
If you want to do good damage you need to gear and spec for it.

This does not change when a proper ranged weapon comes into play – Either you go for damage with it and are a glass cannon or you go for defense and hit like a wet noodle.
If you decide to mix both you end up with decent damage and decent survivability but there is no way to be super durable and do high damage.

Besides, the warrior is in the highest health tier (guardian is in the lowest) and also wears heavy armor while still having very decent ranged options (that arguably do more damage than the scepter).

Alternatively, give the guardians a proper 2-handed ranged weapon.
That way it can be built in a way that compliments the support nature of the guardian more while still being a viable ranged weapon.

I have also heard people claim that the elementalist skill can revive defeated players.
Personally, i can not confirm either claim.
With that in mind – I still think it’s way too weak.
