Not to spoil anything, but has anyone done Arah Path 4? There is a bloodstone shard at the ending. It’s red.

But anyway, I’m just a random thought here. Saw that screenshot as most people are convinced it’s an eye. To me it looks like a shard. A red shard. Who knows what such a powerful artifact can do to an Elder dragon. Enhance its abilities? Cause a change of color? Who knows, I’m just seeing a lot of red is all.

Arenanet! Have you seen this? Is this a small project that you are working on that will come as an update with a patch? I would like a way to watch awesome Cutscenes and still be able to get the rewards I’ve earned in the past for other characters.

'Historical' Achievement Tab Suggestion

So the idea is fresh on my mind, but this involves sorta redoing the ‘Historical’ tab on the Achievement Panel only slightly!

Instead it should be renamed ‘Timeline’ and each segment should have a Date next to it for when it began to when it ended. Maybe also a small paragraph explaining the Story of the said event.

Each one opens up its achievements, showing what you’ve done and what you completed as it already does.

The bonus is that it should show the Rewards that you’ve unlocked and earned by doing said achievements, making them a way for you to click the reward such as back skins, kites, balloons, etc. so to get another in case you might of deleted the previous one.

To add to this is also to have a way to play the Cutscenes, such as the Nightmare Tower, Queen’s Jubilee, etc. so we can watch them any time we want instead of carrying an item only used for cutscenes.

Home Instance Suggestion

Hey all,

So this is going to be simple. I’m seeing these Nodes that you add into your home instance as rewards from Living story or things from the gem store. For example, the Candy Corn Node / Crystal Node / Krait Shard Skill Point / and now the recent 3-Node pack of Copper, Gold, and Silver.

Now of course, these are just simple nodes. I’d think it’d be interesting however if Arenanet would make it so your Home Instance has a small little change for every unlocked Node / Etc that you unlock inside your Home Instance.

Instead of having some random node literally sitting out in the corner of your building, why not instead just unlock a new area, a stairway someplace that leads down into this cavern/mine where ALL of the nodes you’ve unlocked will spawn. Adds more of a realism of the nodes coming out of the ground instead of the floor of a building.

That could also lead to other small areas that become added for what you unlock in your personal story:

- A small game-arena where NPC’s of your home instance are playing that are involved in achievements of new activities that are introduced. I am speaking for example Belcher’s Bluff and having to duel a Belcher in each Home Instance of each race.

- A garden where, instead of getting only nodes, you also unlock herbs for gathering or trees for chopping.

That’s all I got for now, what do you all think though?

The Norn Elite Skills... Seriously?

So I don’t have a lot of time to read this, I’m just going to toss out my idea to improve the Norn Elite Skills. Nothing has to be changed, only this:

Bear Form – Every attack, including basic attacks, knocks down your target.

Wolf Form – Every attack, including basic attacks, stacks 3x bleed on your target.

Snow Leopard Form – Every attack, including basic attacks, blinds your target.

Raven Form – Every attack, including basic attacks, causes the confusion condition on your target.

This makes each Norn form useful in most situations.

Caithe's Secret. The murder of Snaff.

I’m looking over most of this and, being interested in a game’s lore, I have been thinking about that conversation with Caithe and Scarlet ever since the dungeon.

Something I do want to know about, what exactly are Scarlet’s motives? My only guess is that she plans to take over the world. I mean let’s connect the dots..

Possible Spoilers Below

— The Molten Alliance: First of the enemies that she controls right? However this was focused on the Norn and Charr, driving refugees into Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel and not to mention taking prisoners as slaves to work in the weapon facilities.
— The Aetherblades: Sky Pirates that actually had help from the Inquest, why do I say Inquest? I remember during the story mission that Inquest Golems were also foes you fought when the Aetherblades invaded Lion’s Arch. However, leading these Pirates was someone I think we should think about a lot more…

Captain Mai Trin who was not only leading the attack, but was trying to remain disguised as a healer to Win a spot on the Captain’s Council and when she had failed this mission, she finally mentioned the name of this new villain… Scarlet. What happened to Mai? She’s locked up in Lion’s Arch, she is still alive.. I see her being key character in this whole story.

So in general, what did Scarlet actually do..

— Drove Norn and Charr refugee’s from their home, making them seek shelter and work which brought the sudden problems going on with the Consortium at Southsun Cove.
—Tried getting this Captain Mai Trin on the Lion’s Arch Captain’s Council, what for? Why do this if Scarlet is some insane woman seeking for the world’s destruction?
—Caused chaos during the Queen’s Gauntlet. She was after Queen Jennah… why? I can understand that she finally wanted to make her introduction into a Grand Event. Why would she have hatred for Queen Jennah? Or was she just having a psycho-fun and Queen Jennah happened to be a random target?

Now we have this new Twilight Assault.. and another piece of the puzzle fell in our lap. Caithe. Scarlet knows something about Caithe, and I think Caithe is not only annoyed by it, but the fact she pushes herself in hunting down Scarlet tells us something. Caithe believes Scarlet knows something, and Caithe is trying to hide it by killing Scarlet. What could Caithe of done that even Faolin doesn’t know? This comes up with just a few theories

—Nightmare: Is Caithe dwelling further into the Nightmare, so far that Faolin didn’t even realize what was going on?
—Murder: When it comes to mysterious secrets, murder can fall into that category. Did Caithe murder someone, someone special and/or innocent for her own means? Caithe herself is a mysterious character, it is even said that people do not know if she is truely good or evil. Do I see her putting the Sylvari above all the other races? Do we see her putting survival above allies?

Saying all this, it is just theory. But connecting the pieces, it’s good to see what we may of missed or forgotten. We can’t forget about Captain Mai Trin, a possible purposeful hatred for Queen Jennah, and this ‘nasty secret’ involving Caithe.

Activity - Kegbrawl

Just to ask, looking at how easy it is to complete Belcher’s Bluff achievements. Is it possible to make Kegbrawl achievements easier to accomplish? According to most of the tiers it requires for the ‘Kegmaster’ title, it basically ends in the 500 range..

Some of the Kegmaster achievements are easy but time consuming, some are rather difficult which leads to A LOT of time consuming.

Is it possible to look forward to a fix for Kegbrawl where instead of getting 500 fumbles, scores, steals, etc.. we can at least ease it down a bit to 100 – 200? Or is Kegbrawl going to be revamped in a way where people stop throwing kegs out-of-bounds which makes them disappear or aiming a shot to haul the keg where it was picked up and hauling it halfway across the map to score it?

How about power-ups scattered throughout the field? How about sudden falling ice that knocks people down? How about spectator mode where the player is with the audience on the other side cheering you on and throwing you power-ups?

If not.. can we at least just get some of those achievements taken away? It might just be me, but I see Kegbrawl Recoveries being the most difficult.. playing Kegbrawl full on for three weeks with about all achievements being in the tier 5-6 only to see Kegbrawl recoveries in tier 2 with 8/10? Ouch.

Anyone else agree? Let me know, it is a fun game but some people out there can be sore losers and ruin the game for everyone. Not to mention I really want that ‘Kegmaster’ title! Maybe it could come with a complimentary ‘Keg Back Skin’ to spice up all that effort of doing each achievement to the 500 number!

Dungeon Challenges Idea

I’ll try to keep this simple.

Dungeon Challenges – This would be challenges/achievements that a group can perform in a way to gain extra dungeon tokens in a dungeon! Some examples are shown below…

‘Godlike’ — Complete the dungeon without anyone in party dying.
‘Survivalist’ – Complete the dungeon without anyone in party using each of their healing skill more than 5 times.
‘Ultimate Slayer’ — Complete the dungeon without each boss living past 5 minutes during a fight.
‘ASAP’ – Complete the dungeon in less than an hour.

These are just examples to open a challenge, I’m not saying these challenges would reward so many tokens that they only need one run.. but enough to actually interest the group to perform them for an extra 5-10 tokens. A small bonus, but as they continue completing challenges, it could lead to a worthy bonus.

Other challenges could lead to the type of Dungeon being run. For example, Honor of the Waves would unlock a challenge of…

‘Ice Crystals’ – Collect an amount of Ice crystals scattered throughout the dungeon.
‘Dragon Shrines’ – Destroy all of the corrupted dragon shrines in the dungeon.

Past the Dungeon challenges, other smaller bonuses could be Boss Challenges. These could center on all or only final boss fights for a chance at extra tokens or better ‘bag of goodies’. Some examples could be:

‘Defiance’ – Remove Ten Defiant stacks on the boss.
‘Condition’ – Apply (50-100 total) conditions on the boss.

Other examples could lead to how the boss fight mechanics are. Like removing shrines that boon the boss. Reflecting projectiles back at the boss. Using any items (rock, boulder, stick, etc) on the boss a number of times.

Basically it could lead to a way of providing extra challenges for dungeon groups which may help to lowering the risk of ‘farming dungeons’ along with skipping bosses.
The final dungeon advice I would like to add has to do with mobs in the dungeon! To make this simple, dungeons have areas and groups that clear an area of mobs spawns a mini-boss/champion. For example, there is a total of 3 possible spawns which leads to a challenge of defeating them all for more bonus tokens.

In the end, if a group does -all possible challenges- they may lead up to a bonus of double the normal token reward at most. So from 60 to 120, they not only get more tokens but experience in teamwork as well as different challenges in each dungeon.

Let me know what you all think, I’ve reposted this but with a better title so people expect what they are reading. I hope to see comments, thanks for reading all.

I can possibly see that as well, but beginners learn just as the Story mode of a dungeon teaches them the outline of it, so can they learn the more they do the dungeon. This is to pretty much boost up experience in the dungeon and to give players a chance at challenging themselves for more tokens then just skipping everything and finding ways to bug/glitch the system just to complete it.

So all I have is a simple question related to the information below…

Major Rune of Sanctuary:
(1) +15 Vitality
(2) +10% Boon Duration
(3) +35 Vitality

Superior Rune of Sanctuary:
(1) +25 Vitality
(2) +20% Frozen Duration
(3) +50 Vitality

My main question is this.. how come the Major Rune of Sanctuary gives +10% Boon Duration but the Superior Rune of Sanctuary -DOES NOT- give +15% Boon Duration and instead gives +20% Frozen Duration?

Is it because of Superior Rune of Water and Superior Rune of Monk? Does Arenanet not want us to have that +45% Boon Duration with all of those runes?

I mean, Major Rune of Sanctuary is still +10% Boon Duration, so in general I can get +40% Boon Duration on my character. Is this a small bug with Superior Rune of Sanctuary? I know it’s only 5% less Boon Duration, but I would like to know if it really is something that needs to be fixed, I wouldn’t mind an extra +5% Boon Duration and also that extra Vitality that comes with it.

Please, give me some feedback, anyone who uses the +% Boon Duration runes and such.

Getting some great comments here and such so I’m going to give this a bump, the Hammer is a great AoE weapon and the Protection chain is wonderful, especially to help it boon up your fellow melee players.

I would say that Zealot’s Embrace would be nice if it was wider, perhaps it could be a small cone of immobilizing chains with just a shorter distance? In my opinion, I would either want increased damage or remove it and just give us a vulnerability or even a crippling condition, better to immobilize him for those few seconds only to be able to catch up to your opponent no?

As for Ring of Warding, that is the main problem.. it’s such a long cooldown to only use a skill that does no damage, lasts for just 5 seconds and from what all the rest of the comments have been saying, easy to escape. What is the point of laying down Ring of Warding with you being lucky enough to catch someone inside of it only for him to dodge out of it?

I know there is a fine line with fixing this skill but to not make it too OP but there is a lot Anet can do with it, perhaps those who cross the line, dodge / walk / teleport / etc, get crippled or suffer burning. Well then they would just stay in the circle? Exactly, enough for us to start smashing and crushing them into the dirt. Even 3 extra seconds added to its duration would be a help, make it an instant cast, able to move while casting it, reduce it’s CD, anything really.

Anyway, I would like more comments!! The more we get the more Arenanet will see this and that gives us a possibility for them changing it to something we can enjoy, let’s bring the Hammer back to Guardians!!

The Hammer is said to be a balanced hybrid for both PvE and PvP for the Guardian. I would just like to toss an idea to say update only TWO of the weapon skills to make the hammer have more variety in battle then only using a limit of two to three weapon skills.

First is Zealot’s Embrace. Skill 3 that immobilizes enemies in a line. This is a solid ability for PvP yet I don’t see it being used as much in PvE, very few mobs run away in combat. Perhaps the damage it does could be removed and a condition would be added? Example would be a stack of Vulnerability (1-3).

Second is Ring of Warding. Skill 5 which creates a ring around you that enemies cannot cross and those trapped inside the ring cannot escape. This is an amazing skill in PvP, almost like you’re creating a personal arena, melee-wise, or for an enemy player to not escape. However in PvE I have seen very little use of it.. the most I have activated this ability for is to create a Ring of Warding and knockback a mob so it doesn’t go past the ring that way I don’t have to go and chase it wherever it was knocked back too. Another is if I have a dozen of melee-mobs chasing after me and I create a Ring of Warding as a barrier for those extra seconds of escape.

What could we do with Ring of Warding? Well, it is possible to add a condition to those who are caught inside the ring, such as a short Burning condition or Vulnerability, I say this because the Ring of Warding only lasts 5 seconds. Another thing that could be added would be a longer duration and/or the ring not only makes foes unable to cross, but also stops projectiles or even reflects them.

Let me know if anyone else fights with a Hammer who is a Guardian, please leave a response of what you think and if you agree with these ideas of changes.

I know this is a small little matter to bring up but it’s something I noticed between summoning the Spirit Hammer in the game compared to the video I watched of the Guardian summoning the Hammer of Wisdom…

Is it me.. or did they change that? Did I miss something? Change it back please, the one from the Guardian videos looks so much better, more mighty and paladin like compared to the basic one in the game that we have right now. Make it the hammer it should of been!

What the Orr.....

I have to add something to this.. I understand Orr was made to be like a pure No-Safe Zone Battlefield.. and it is! First few months of Guild Wars 2 showed me and I enjoyed all the huge groups of both NPC and Players doing their part to unlock Arah.. but then of course, it just became event grinding and farming for karma and loot..

How could one bring this back? When you hit high level, you have to have a goal for something.. I know dungeons and WvW and legendaries and all.. but a place that truly is a place players -want- to go too where there is all out fighting and enjoying the real -war- of the game. This is ORR! Elder Dragon territory.. the events are amazing but no one wants to do so.. perhaps the Temple events should be worked on? More loot.. higher chance of loot? More Exp and Karma reward with more fun mechanics? Perhaps a gain in bonuses will bring back the teamwork and goals that people actually want to battle the Risen Priests of the Temples and defend settlements?

Who knows, this could just be me… the land itself is amazing but I can understand people tend to get a bit bored of the same events and such.. perhaps that is what needs to be looked at? I hope future content for high level players don’t become like what Orr is.

I’d like to think they would plan on revamping existing guild wars 1 classes.. They had their way of changing up the assassin into a thief (Or perhaps just a lot similar, didn’t play the assassin much) and sort of just replace Monk with a heavy hitting magic user – Guardian.

So what else would we possibly see? Well, if we did see a new class, my opinion is that it would be a Soldier / Heavy armor. Why? We only have 2 heavy armor, we need a 3rd to balance it out with the 3 mediums and 3 lights we have.

So, what could a possible heavy armored profession be that isn’t already direct melee (Warrior) and magic-melee (Guardian)?? Well, quite simple.. even though those two classes can have their multiple builds of damage and support, I see the 3rd heavy class having most of their skills being of Control.

So examples? Well, there is a chance that there would be a return of a…

Class Name: Dervish
Type: Heavy
Weapons: (Melee & Ranged/Caster) Greatsword, Hammer, Staff — 2 handed only.

General: A heavy fighter using the powers of Control and Conditions in his favor to turn the tide of battle. His main abilities — Possible Shapeshifting into Avatars of Balthazaar (Melee) or Lyssa(Caster) — Would cause a change in the 2handed weapon skills into the Avatars favor. Maybe even add an extra Avatar as (Range) damage. These would not be elite skills, these would be like the elements that the Elementalists can switch through, water/air/fire/earth. It could possibly balance out when only using 2handed weapons.

His fighting style would be to Control the battlefield (( Immobilize, Cripple, Chill )) while his damage comes from the multiple conditions that come with the Avatars favor. Pulls, Knockbacks, Walls, Chain ability that has the person switch places with the target? His specials would obviously be his use of Avatars like a common mechanic, like Engineer kits or elements. As a Melee Avatar all of his skills, even with a staff equipped, will only be melee skills that focus say on (Hammer) knockbacks, (Greatsword) Pulls, (Staff) Walls — while applying what conditions they have to keep up with damage or support. And as a Caster Avatar it would only lead to less melee fighting and more to direct Control and Condition effects.

As for skills I can’t name many off the top of my head. But for Elite skills? Probably more Avatars that focus on their own area. Long ranged physical damage (Melandru) Avatar? Support/Medic (Dwayna) Avatar? Perhaps an Avatar of all of the Six gods.

HOWEVER! I do know I have gone too far with the Avatars and such, because Dervish are from Guild wars 1 where only humans were played, so lore-wise it would not make sense for a Norn Dervish / Asura Dervish to become Avatar of Balthazaar and whatnot. But that can easily be changed in the name.

Thank you all for your feedback! I figured you would like most of it! Most of them were things I’d be seeing as a long-term upcoming deal for Guild Wars 2 such as Zeppelin Battles and Public player homes / Guild Halls.

New Weapon Ideas?

Okay! From what I’ve been reading.. a lot of you people have been liking the Whip idea! I think that has won first prize!!

WHIP – Short range / Slightly longer range – Can work with possibly -ALL- classes – front line defense for many – Can due interesting tricks ( I do like the idea for it being able to switch places with a clone / illusion ).

GREAT AXE – Yep, no need to say anything else…

Now I kept on reading and yes, a crossbow wouldn’t have much of a point.. but then again, what other ranged weapons would there be? Throwing spears? Slingshots? Swinging a rock around and tossing it? But of course.. Throwing knives — Could be seen in the Cantha expansion yes?

BRASS KNUCKLES – Another lovely we all seem to enjoy! But as I think of it, a small possibility… I see them coming into the game as more of an activity over a new weapon.. Activity being – PITFIGHTING! Please add this!! PLEASE!

But I am liking the feedback and other comments, always fun of course to think of new ideas. As for my own to toss? I guess I would say looking at that Orb idea was quite interesting, a mechanic of abilities that focus around the character than at a distance? Hmmm… and let’s not forget the Urn! A Ritualist favorite from guild wars 1.

So.. I’m sure someone made this kind of post in these forums but I’m too tired / lazy to really search through it. If anyone wants to merge please do! But anyway!

These were some ideas I’d want to toss out when it comes to new weapons! I’m sure we would like to start seeing stuff like Katanas and throwing stars tossed in, but such things need to work with Lore right..? Or just.. with fighting mechanics / balance and whatnot..

My suggestions were these four because it gives a taste to all professions!!

*A Great Axe* - Yes, I heard that Anet was already working on it.. I mean, Hammers smash and knockback, Swords whirlwind and leap attack.. so Axe would.. what.. cripple and cause lethal single target damage but slow? Balance I say! A great weapon for Warriors of course and Rangers! Not so much Guardians.. I mean, why would a Guardian use a great axe and not a one-handed axe..? Axes are not really.. what’s the word.. Knightly? I dunno!

*Brass Knuckles* - Okay.. to those who played Guild wars 1 I’m sure you know what I mean.. we all would love some fist-fighting attacks going on! A punch to the jaw that dazes the enemy! One to the gut to cause invulnerability! Who knows but we all want to feel like Rocky!! Warriors, Thieves, Engineers maybe!? Hahaha!

*Crossbow* - Okay I didn’t give it much through towards a ranged weapon, throwing Javelins were on my mind but.. well, unlimited arrows makes sense.. unlimited giant spears thrown in the air? Eh.. not too sure. But crossbows would be an interesting mechanic! A range between the longbow and shortbow, a solid lethal single attack and can easily see Thieves, Rangers and Engineers using this.. Mecha-Crossbows.. Cooool!

*Whip* - Alright, I don’t know a huge amount of mystical weapons.. I mean, everyone knows about the staff.. we all need a staff.. "You shall not pass!" Yeah, duh! And then you got the one handed focus thingy..? I dunno.. but a Whip! Would be interesting to see your share of casters having some cool whip animations going with their short-range skills! A necromancer could whip out deathly swarms or corrupting lashes into the ground. A Mesmer could make that whip make a place where an illusion or clone could spawn before twirling it in a the air to send chaos bolts around them! And don’t get me started on the Elementalist...

Anyway! Let me know what you all think! Good? Bad? Doesn’t make sense? AWESOME ANIMATIONS!? Put down some of your ideas and thanks for reading!!

Same same, played a few games before noticing that my achievements didn’t even gain anything. Hope this gets fixed soon.
