Well I still use it often. Works every time when the TP (buy/sell) and/or Gemstore doesn’t load.

I agree with most above. My problem is not so much the lack of progression for the beta port (mostly because it runs quite fine for me). But it is the major LACK of communication on the mac forums. There are times that we get no answer from any Dev for like 4 months. I’ve put in several tickets around these times but get replies “We can post when we have something to say” But this is not the right attitude in my opinion. Just confirming that you’ve read it and are working on it is worth so much! You must see why players find it hard to believe that a fix is put forward about 6 hours after a player solved it.
If you were working on it you should’ve told us so. Better communication on the Mac sub forum will solve a lot of negative attitudes here.
I agree. Trough support I’m often told they try to read all posts here on the sub forum. What would they think when they read this and still don’t feel like dropping a line “Don’t worry guys we are working on it” but rather say nothing. I can only think that if they say nothing they are not obliged to release a fix anytime soon. No words = no promise.
This issue has already been posted lots of time. A lot of mac users have the issue atm. And previous experience I think it will take quite some time before this will be fixed.
If you want to get any kind of contact with devs about these issues, this is not the place to be! I have to say their ticket support works great and they reply fast but often just send you to the forums anyway. They told me all the issues posted here were known and that they are working on it (so how much is it to ask to confirm the on the forum/post it in the sticky… Unless they feel like that is too official and they can’t do that if fixing it isn’t a real priority. Why else…).
Anyway lets get to the point :P A lot of players can solve the mouse issue by using cmd-tab. Does this not work for you?

I’ve combing the posts trying to see what kind of grievances Mac players have. This item number one that I’m looking into. I haven’t posted on this yet because I didn’t have anything relevant to communicate.
I’m poking hard though, and as I have any information or update to give you guys I will share.

lolz it is kind of sad but so sad that I almost find it funny in a weird way. If “as soon as i have information” means 4+ months I think it is safe to assume they are not working on anything for this beta.
I’ve had all the exact issues you describe. I don’t buy gems atm but fine, their loss… And I too had § on weapon switch. So annoying suddenly can’t use that anymore (after reinstall, I now use middle mouse button).
I’ve had that shortcut problem before when I wanted to reinstall GW2 and see if loading would increase a bit (about 2 months ago) but then too the shortcut didn’t work anymore. I reverted the version using Time Machine and it worked fine again. However now I don’t have that version anymore so can’t do anything anymore. I do wonder though, if these problems are errors of Anet, or did a external port team create the mac version. It doesn’t seem like Anet has an official spokesperson for the mac client either so I guess it is an external company that makes it but doesn’t even test it because they can’t be bothered or something? I just mean to say, this last update for the gem store, it didn’t work for about 80% of the people with the problems and created more problems for every user. How can they have created this and though “aw well… we put some work in it, its probably fine”? Can they really be that unlucky that these problem are not occurring on their test pc’s?
I’ve got the same problem. lets hope they can fix this within the week and not ignore it with the quote “We don’t support mavericks.”
Yes it does, they just confirmed on lifestream.
hm sorry I can’t say that I do. It runs descent on my Macbook with character quality and limit on lowest settings.

Open activity monitor and search and close these processes while you’ve shut down Guild Wars 2:
– wineserver
– CVMCompiler
– cookied
– (two instances of) Guild Wars 2
Then just restart gw2 and see if it worked.
(If this was the problem, please let us know! These lingering processes are bugs. A patch to the mac client that forces a shutdown of these when closing the gw2 app should solve a lot of TP issues)

Just wanted to say I love the new ‘death’ music. Sounds so beautiful and I’m happy we hear it in all maps now (as far as I know). It seems to say, “shame but this is not the end!”.
It will not harm it, but weirdly, I had the very same problem the first time I launched the game. However after a restart it was fine. Try another mouse too. It doesn’t mean that the mouse isn’t good but something in the setting isn’t right. Resetting like previous comment said might fix this.
oeh man I think that will be very difficult to pull off… If you really want it you will have to go bootcamp.

I’ve been able to purchase gems the normal way. Strange that you get these errors. I feel sorry for you that you can’t get your gems, but Anet deserves not getting your money atm! They won’t even help with Mac Gem Purchase issues anymore apparently xD
When in your applications folder right click Guild Wars 2 and select ‘Show Package Content’. Then go trough the following maps. Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/GW2/ And that is where the Gw2.dat is located.
But i’m not really sure if Travis uploaded this file. Too much to download just to check. So either it is this file or it is the complete gw2 application, in which case you just copy and replace it in applications.

If you get this while starting up the game / logging in, Unplug the power cable. Once you’re in you can reconnect it. Insane that bugs like these are unimportant to Anet. Or any mac bugs for that matter that don’t concern the BLTP. I’m so fed up with their whole attitude here.
I’m definitely seeing some improvement. Tested it mainly in LA. Standing on the fountain for example, when the water fountain sprouts water in the air it caused a frame drop. (just higher particle effects so this is not a specific example) It went from 32 fps to about 22 before. Now it doesn’t go below 29. Also the overall feel of turning the camera is better. And the ‘tiles’ thing, where you see tearing in textures sometimes seems to be solved.

It is your gamma going back to 0 I believe. It is indeed a bug but since it doesn’t prevent us from being able to use the gem store. You might need to wait another year before a possible fix xD. However a annoying but quick fix is to slide your gamma slider a bit again and it will be back to normal.
Haha, I just noticed that the official sticky mac updates’ last post is from october 2012. :P 1 year anniversary of no progression coming up! (yes I know a few minor tweaks have been done but still)
There seem to be update problems on the EU servers again. Yesterday the fire-elemental 5 min times was on -55 mins. And now it claim Modniir is up for 1 hour too, but nothing.
I totally agree. It is a great fight and tequatl shouldn’t get nerfed. But the mechanic that 6/80-100 are responsible for the outcome is totally wrong. And just ‘let them get killed by mobs’ doesn’t work because you can’t communicate that trough to the other defenders. Most people don’t seem to notice chat while fighting :P. Anet please consider this mistake for the other dragons! The mechanic at the karka where everyone can rebuff him is much better then only 6.
It is indeed dissapointing, but what gets me most is that we had to get this news this way. And not trough a nice official post on these forums…

Some days back I’ve posted about the PAX event. That we tried to put questions on the guild wars 2 facebook page in order to get some new info about the Mac client. However I seem te be the only one who did that.
No matter though, it was ignored anyway (or overlooked ofcourse since there were A LOT of questions on there).
However since MattVisual was invited to the PAX event too and wanted some viewer question, I’ve asked him to ask it for us and he did!

Just on Facebook gw2 posted about the anniversary Q&A. How about we post questions there? I’ve already asked about mac client development but feel like the guys that manage the gw2 facebook skipped my question. They thank a few for their questions and this seems to indicate it maybe being asked.

I’ve only had that issue the first time I ever launched GW2. Never again after that. I didn’t change mouse or anything
They are supposed to drop rare. else everyone has the skin and it is no fun anymore. Maybe they should make the ticket tradable to compensate for the hardcore players but not increase the rates imo.

So i’ve been searching and found it. It is left from Broadhollow waypoint. A big mountain with a weird sound coming from it. Also if you follow it down you come to a spot where you get teleported to a location further down. That is strange in any case.
Any Theories what this can be? I’ve already found some people saying this festival might end with the awakening of a new dragon! That would be amazing!

I just stared the game after the patch and logged into LA. Right away i’ve got the achievement that gave me the 3 dragon helmet skins. I though these were a reward you got after watching the Fireworks show?
I agree that Anet is responsive for providing a good experience. I still would like to mention that it isn’t that bad atm. However as we Mac users are paying customers as well they can not ignore us. It would be better for their image to simple state that they haven’t given up on improving. But another thing to notice is that it non the less still says “Mac beta client” when you play. Also they seem to respond to certain bugs that get reported here and have a sticky for the common ones. I’m not losing hope but, now speaking to a possible Anet employee that reads this, it can’t harm to give some info about what is going on, even if you say that it is not a priority now. I will check this post regular from now on and would consider it rude if no reply is given here but will be on other unrelated posts.
