I’ve gotten to a point where I don’t consider myself to have a main/backup. I got two weapons.
Not arguing with people who think staff is main/not-main weapon, but I think there’s something wrong if a necromancer doesn’t carry a staff with him unless he can make it up with utilities. From being the easiest weapon to gain LF, to having 4 useful CC at 2-5 (I save 4 if I know I will need to remove a condition), and being the weapon you will swap on before you turn on DS or go on Lich Mode (using other weapons beside staff when you use those two are indications of how dumb people are not knowing the staff basic dmg)… carrying a staff is a no-brainer.

Death Shroud has its own HP bar, a separate one that isn’t in any way an extension of your original HP pool. When you do enough damage that kills DS, it simply kills DS. Should it damage the original HP pool? The attack wasn’t aimed at that, so I don’t know what the issue is here.

It would be nice if when we went into DS it gave us a glimpse into the spiritworld and we could see everyone’s spirit. Therefore Thieves in stealth would be seen as a spirit form and would not be stealthed and a Mesmer would be also seen as a single target in spirit form and his illusions would be not visable. (similar to wearing the ring in LotRs movies) This would provide an excellent boost to DS and would allow the Necro to have a counter to these classes.
Oh, my. Any developer would have been proud to come up with this idea!!

The more the battle drags on, the more I feel safer going against thieves. Know when they’re starting to burst you. Try to hold on until they run out of initiatives.

CD wvw regular here. I just want to say that I don’t think the majority of players of the servers that house these hackers condone hacking. If it happened that some of our players were hacking I’d wish the other side would think like that as well. They can’t do anything about their hackers. It is, as we all hope, something that Anet addresses seriously in their upcoming patches.

Whenever I think of the problems that plague this class, the song that goes “everything you can do, I can do betterrrrrr” resounds in my head. But I still love my necro, and hope the bugs and problems get fixed, even if they don’t want to ever buff us. Just fix the bugs thats all.

Ok, never mind, I found another that has the same, and real, effect. But tooltip wording is still wrong and misleading. I burnt some coin buying those things in bulk.

Gain power [sic] equal to 4% of your vitality
+10 Experience from kills.
Except I gain Precision instead of Power… please fix, I’m using a build that depends a lot on Vitality and Toughness. The power increase will really help tonnes!

I can watch a warrior run into a group of mobs, do the spinny thing and one other skill and everything is dead and he’s at 1/2 health when he’s done. Balanced? Doesn’t appear so.
I think a majority of necroes would trade DS for that spinny thing. Seriously.

Isn’t it funny that in DS a NECROMANCER has a 1 second (LOL?) fear while a mugger or brawler has even better fears? So this means being a thug or gangster is scarier than a scrawny witch doctor?

The traits change quite a lot. specially when you get second tier major trait.
Eh? Traits don’t change depending on race. Or do they? Happy to be corrected.
You are right, there are no racial traits. What I think he means is your gaming experience changes once you unlock higher level traits.
