What if all the damage received will, after the duration of protect me, causes a huge aoe damage proportional to the damage the pet receives. And if dies, that damage soaked up doubles. It won’t be too op smart people would be careful of how much dmg they deal to the ranger, and it will punish dumb people who will also of course qq in the forums.

Does the Spectral Armor from the trait Last Gasp benefit from the trait Spectral Mastery? I would like to think that it would, but I’ve seen other traits which have things like that being described clearly… so this might not.

Ballistas are just gonna shred all these golems. but since they require no supplies people are just gonna lay down new ones and hop into those. The strategy will likely be how to catch and kill the ones that jump out… which will be hard to do as most wvwers have masteries that ensure they get ejected safely in stealth. This would mean stealth traps and open field ballista teams will be required on top of having everyone equipped with siege disablers.

I haven’t used HS for quite a while… Did it always stack such a disturbing amount of Regeneration?
Yes, it pulses it so if you stand in it you get a bunch.
One HS and some pew pew into the air gave me about 1 min of Regeneration.
I was able to get 1 min of regen at borderland spawn area/safe zone, but outside where people are able to kill each other I could not replicate it.

Having Hornet’s Sting → Healing Spring → Monarch’s Leap part of my rotation whether it’s small skirmishing, repositioning, or getting out of a tight spot for as long as I can remember, I’m not really looking at it negatively.
Sure, it was the fastest casting (burst) healing skill, on demand condi removal, potentially the most amount of HP healed if you know what you’re doing, group heal/condi which helped make clutch plays when you need it on the money…
but we’ll adapt!

It will be hard to be aggressive as trap rangers against classes that will just kite you (gs mes, lb rangers, even engis ). Now we have to pray and ask them to come to step on the traps. With all the clones, minions, pets running around, you are no longer rewarded for taking the fight to them. If people want say it’s not meant to be like grenades, well it isn’t even spammable or as strong, can’t even thrown very far. All ANET wants to do here is please the people wanting stealth more reliable on trap runes. Yes, they are nerfing the trap ranger .to buff a rune set. GG anet.

Was about to mention the same thing. It doesn’t help that it looks like something we can mix and match using skins already available. But we won’t, out looks ugly. I wish if they still want to come up with trench coat looking skins or outfit, they can try a lab coat.

One little known thing is that the mad king runes hunters call will hit multiple invisible targets (normal hunters call will only hit if you started before they went into stealth and only one target). It’s great to know the position of all the stealthed targets running at you by just looking at the birds animation.

Animal cruelty applies stacks on the Ranger. When stacks reach 5, animal runs away from owner, probably to some PETA group. Ranger gains 100 points in every stat. Stacks disappear on death.

- Traps having activation time…sigh. This is directly to combat trapper runes, runes which they just ‘balanced’ less than a year ago. If traps are not ‘grenades’, why can we throw them? Making an activation time just makes them ignorable, there is no benefit to this.
It doesn’t combat the runes, more like giving trap rune setups a slight buff where you won’t get revealed as soon as you enter stealth when you drop traps that deal damage. But it hits hard aggressive trap rangers which have to chase classes that kite/stealth around them. It’s more like praying people will stay in the trap, or hoping people would step on them now… I strongly am against this change, and will completely stop playing traps if this goes live. I only play this in PvP/wvw roaming and will have little or no interest in the game if something seriously kittened/malicious towards us happens. Traps don’t scale well with power either, and people won’t just stay in traps.

From the perspective of a person who runs condi and also hybrid…
With all the CCs flying around, we cannot always just depend on stun breakers. Side stepping, evading, dodging are parts of PvP which largely rely on how we evaluate the situation. Lets say I see warriors, I’ll try always be just inside/outside of their stuns/hammers, and when I see the animation, I will attempt to just side step/strafe. That distance to side step CC is what condi rangers always have in mind when they kite. It’s not possible to side step everything, but minimizing is key here.
When faced with anti-kite setups, it’s a different ball game… we can’t just sidestep things/try soak up hits here and there without acknowledging that we’ll get hit more often than usual. Hydromancy sigil which procs at every swaps (kittening annoying!!!) just leaves us vulnerable to stuns, try keep immob/cripple us. I have 3 evades, 2 natural dodges/more from energy sigil, and stunbreaker, sometimes depending on the person I’m going with it just doesn’t feel enough! So just hampering their movements which enables them to kite makes a big difference and can force most to blow all their cooldowns.

I’m just trying to clean it up still, I have thoughts in my head, what ammy is best? More damage or more tanky? Do I need regen somewhere? etc. I LOVE the might stacking, having about 15 might stacks constantly is great and the drake dishes out some amazing damage.
I added +15 might in the build and the total (meaningful) DPS gained by utilizing Cele in a (some kind of) might stack build is ridiculously more than say Rabid/Settler/Dire or maybe any other build…lots of survivability/tankiness… you can also then swap out SoR since you got a ton of HP to start with in fights, maybe to SotW to secure a few stomps every game.
About WH, I used to run a/t, s/w but later I found I can’t live w/out dagger offhand…but that maybe subject to preference.
Have at least paired dog w/ drake for over a year now. The day I swapped one of my pups for a Drake I felt my life as Ranger got elevated abit higher — the big gecko hits like a truck.
Many things me and the subsequent posters have/will write are definitely things you know already/in your head/aware of; you’re one of the best rangers here

Your examples are far overexaggerated. It took me less than a week to start clicking F3 all the time without thinking about it xD Annoying? Yes. Gamebreaking? lol no.
I’ve pressed f3 so much on my ranger I subconsciously do it on my other classes when I go past things or be in situations where my ranger had to it (in front of a paper tower my ranger wants to ninja solo)

If only you put the other things into perspective like if other classes’ toolbelt/attunements can be killed like our pets? No cleansing ire/shatter/virtues most of the time. That’s how much they loathe us.

Fire and Air sigils on S/D set, Your autos along with the sigil procs are your DPS; shadow return is when you wait out for sigil cooldown. Realization that bursts matter more for glassy setups is what’s making fire/air very popular now in pvp/wvw compared to sigil of force (now considered merely a pve sigil). Because of this factor and how many times you’re hitting, it also goes well with Valkyrie parts in your setup (pm if this part is abit unclear). Also fight leading away much further from where you cast infiltrator’s strike.

Both you and your pet will use stability uptime to revive without iteruptions, QZ (uitilty and on pet swap) for even faster revive. You have like 4k armor while eviving, let’s c them bring you down.

I really like the zoomaster It looks fun for giggles and kitten. Maybe could use Superior Sigil of Demon Summoning if going with a zerg… works even with other stacking sigils on the other weapon too.

Longbow projectiles should have no cast time and hit enemies instantaneously. Also when they dodge, the arrow stops and freezes in mid air like the Matrix movies, multiply to a hundred, and rains itself for an AOE barrage on target.
This is how I feel when I read suggestions like OPs.

Okay, this is related, I posted this in another thread:
So far, what we know about this is that:
1. GMaster trait (Trap Potency) will now also increase trap cast time by two times (which is bad), while also increasing radius (good but at the expense of the cast time? noooo).
2. If you don’t use either Master (Trapper’s Expertise), or GMaster trait, you can bring the cast time back down to the normal 1/2 seconds.
So — If you choose to untrait the Master trait, you only lose ground targeting but get another trait of your choice while maintaining the added radius (from bugged GM trait). If you un-equip only GM trait, you lose the condition duration. So for those foregoing Master, it might not be such a big nerf to those holding points in PvP — they basically get a free Master trait out of nowhere.
For now my choice is taking off the master trait. It temporarily fixes the winter’s bite cast time, while trading ground targeting for another extra slot in Master Trait slot (we still get the added radius if you read my quote). In WvW it will be missed… but still OK in PvP where we fight on points.

Its a bug guys…it only happens if you have the trapper trait equipped. Of course that doesn’t mean it will get fixed any faster..lol
The traps radius is larger now, it could cover the whole home/far pvp nodes. I hope people would complain about it so that we can get our cast times back, I don’t need the super increased radius.

I’ve played traps nearly 2 years roaming in wvw and after today’s update, the trap gets cancelled if you dodged after it was thrown (but still hasn’t hit the ground).
edit: I guess it got nerfed when they fixed the broken skills of other classes where they were able to attack mid air.

Now when for example I use some skill and press another skill while the other one was still casting, the next one doesn’t get cast… I find that now I keep having to spam the next skill because my timing’s off. I don’t really wait for the current skill to finish casting before pressing the next skill…
Is it just me? Happened after today’s update.

Nope, it’s x661x with 1 point I’m not sure but think its 06620 because I can’t see the minor trait going off in marksmanship or beastmastery. He also didn’t get stunned after a Bulls charge hit him so it’s a shared anguish in the WS line. Could know he didn’t spend any points in Marksmanship because no opening strike. What traits with these numbers not that hard to figure out too. Armor/Trinkets Celestial mostly because of HP, crit rate, toughness/tankyness (I have full ascended Cele too, quite similar) with bow zerker with fire/air sigil (could see the combat log), Shortbow maybe Rampagers/could also be zerkers with 1 torment sigil, the other not sure. He might have a few odd parts here and there but that’s the gist of it. Some fights emphatic bond didn’t go off, might have swapped Bark Skin/Emphatic bond out, but never see effects of Poison Master.
Also I find the way you fight is mostly reliant on SB condition burst, and LB is just a distraction weapon for more stealth, pushback, and cripple. Maybe another weapon will fit even better than LB?
If you look at the combat log when he uses Longbow you might think twice before saying that.

I still see the same people who use language/words that would have got the person floored no matter who they say it to play freely and continue to say what they like. To me I think that if they really get punished, we’d see them complaining about it in the forums, but no. So until that happens, I don’t really think anything has been done. Sorry ANET, the environment is toxic.

I exclusively WvW, and lately do more SPVP, and I don’t care about Living Story one bit. I do PVE only to help guildies do dungeons and that’s the only thing in PVE I know about. I think zerging doing PVE stuff is for the braindead and dumb and is one of the dullest activities in the game. I am nearing 11k AP; none of my characters have map completion, most are under 10%. I have no interest in anything that has to do with “farming”.
I don’t know the game the way some people think they know it, but please understand that some play the game the way they want to so don’t go around accusing people of buying off accounts somewhere else.
