Anet was very foolish in the way they handled the personal story. Either all the story mode dungeons should have been made to be part of the personal story then including the last one would have made a lot more sense or else they should have scrapped the last dungeon from the personal story all together and just made it optional like the rest of the story mode dungeons.

Letting the players skip all the previous dungeons then forcing them to do the last one is just silly.

If all you want to do is Spvp, why are you complaining about farming and getting gold? Spvp doesn’t even use gold and doing Spvp is the same when your level one or 80…

I just don’t get some people…

there are times at 80 when i am gonna wanna just chill and do crafting but i cant far any mats because of how horrible the diminishing returns are on everything

hey, I’m just going off what you said.

I was never able to hit lvl 80 but i didnt enjoy never having any cash or being able to far any mats ever.all i wanna do is struc pvp at lvl 80 but if i cant enjoy my off time/relax,afk farm time then there is no reason for me to play this game.

I’m pretty sure your issue is you got marked as a bot while your account was out of your possession. you should probably try to send in a support ticket.

I just google it.. I’m curious, do you know what Frostbite is? It might be because it’s a medical condition?

Are you implying that frostbite is somehow offensive? And that’s the reason for it being restricted?

Yes.

Why would you ask such a question…

Probably because he’s thinking about buying gold and wants to know the risks.

So I now need to find another place name that starts with a ‘K’ in order for the guild tag ‘KAT’ to actually be meaningful

Just change Kessex to Krytan, problem solved.

Cooperative PVE and the Economy

You’re right Diminishing returns doesn’t affect gathering nodes, but it does effect the fine crafting materials and other drops as you said. I’m sorry if that was unclear. But my point still stands diminishing returns was implemented to curb the supply of certain items. They recently did something similar with Orichalcum spawn rate changing it to every day instead of a few hours.

Cooperative PVE and the Economy

GW2 has done a lot of things that differ from the traditional MMORPG, one of the major things being the mechanics that allow for more cooperation in PVE. This idea that the Devs have wholeheartedly embraced has affected the In-Game Economy in ways that make it vastly different than other MMORPGS.

The sharing of gathering nodes and the lack of tagging system have caused resources in the world not to be limited only by the mechanics of that resource but also by the number of people gathering. For example in traditional MMOs gathering nodes are based off the map and not off the player meaning if one person gathers from that node its gone for everyone not just that particular player. In GW2 however the gathering nodes are based off the individual player. So in a traditional MMO there’s only going to be a certain number of gathering nodes per day no matter how many players(obviously players do affect this, but only up to a certain point at which they will reach a plateau) In GW2 it’s based on the player gathering so basically more players gathering a specific resource the more of it there’s going to be. The same thing applies to mobs and drops.

So basically this means that the ratio of Items/Mats to players is significantly larger in GW2 compared to a traditional MMO. This in turn has caused the Devs to implement mechanics such as Diminishing Returns.

Personally I’m fine with this system and the economy has a whole but there is a lot of complaining and whining going on. Just wondering what other people think about GW2’s cooperative system and its effect on the economy.

Kopipoki.3542

I semi-support this, I worked hard for my Icon so the least that should be disabled would be on the minimap and not the icon above people’s heads. I know this may get annoying, but if you complain that the icons above people’s heads are annoying and want them removed, you may as well remove the icons from the merchants and karma merchants.

The Commander Icon is supposed to be helpful for WvW, not so you can sit in town with a “LOOK AT ME!!! LOOK AT ME!!!!” Icon.

Correct me if I’m wrong but cant the Icon be toggled on and off by the user?or are you a perma-commander after the book is used?

Do you think Personal Story is boring?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kopipoki.3542

I would say to personal story is interesting at the beginning and as then starts getting more and more tedious to do. At the start there was a sense that I was developing my character from a role playing perspective, then as the story focuses more and more on the dragons that’s when the story turns boring and generic. And the fact that the later missions are bugged to hell doesnt help either.

Should this game have raids?

@Kopipoki

Can I ask why you’re against Gear progression.
I am very interested to know your point of view on the matter please.
Cheers.

I think Gear progression is a not the right way to keep people interested in a game. the game should be played because its enjoyable and fun, not because someone is afraid they are going to fall behind and not be able to participate in events. Its rather silly to me to have to put in the effort in order to get a piece of gear only for it to be rendered useless in a few months time.

It saddens me that people actually want something akin to gear progression, to me it seems like a really really lazy way for devs to prolong a game. As raids progress they only give the illusion of getting harder by requiring better gear.

Also a lvl 80 in full exotic gear is already pretty strong compared to someone that was brought up to par in WvW. I would hate for the discrepancy to get any larger as its already very noticeable.

Don’t even get me started about sPVP. The other day I read a post from someone that wanted gear progression in spvp, the very thought of that makes me cringe. Success should not be dependent on how good your gear is but on your actual ability to play your class.

Trading Post: Listing Fee and Selling Fee

in Black Lion Trading Co

Kopipoki.3542

No, No, No. The trading post is not supposed to be a simple way for crafters’ to turn a profit if it was then everyone would be doing it. Crafting in this game is a lot easier to max out in this game compared to other MMOs. Buying Materials and spending 10 seconds to craft something then list it back on the TP should not yield any profit at all.

The reason the prices are the way they are is because the materials are relatively simple to get for any level 80. And finding a crafter is even easier. So basically what I’m saying is that if one were to do all the work in order to craft the weapon collecting the raw materials would be the most difficult/ time consuming part. At which point would be at their highest value because at this point they can be made into numerous types of weapons/armor. After the item has bee crafted the value drops because even less people would be interested in getting that specific weapon.

Its pretty easy really, you’re going to have to do your own research of course but the main idea is to buy items on the trading post and sell them for a profit. Make sure your sell price is at least 15% higher than your original purchase price, since that is how much the TP costs. Your going to find that certain items are traded a lot faster than others, focus on the ones that sell fast to maximize profit. Crafting goods are a good place to start.
As long as you can maintain that 15% margin you’ll make bank.

No mounts - I simply don't understand...

why no mounts? which argument/s would speak against that? they wouldn’t be more like a fashion item, so no unbalance or whatsoever (if they would NOT give them some OP speed hack buff skill :P)
i’m a fashion victim – also i’m a ranger who wanna ride on mah animals like a boss
some mounts could be race-related – for example: asura rides on golems, charr on tanks, and so on…
also give them some sort of exclusitivity

to quote the TC: “No mounts – I simply don’t understand…”

This isn’t a fashion show/modeling game. Perhaps some browser based games would more suit your interest than this one.

$5 for 1g is too much arena.net :(

Kopipoki.3542

I’ll tell you how, 1g is a sinlge siege golem.

some weapons cost 80g or $400.

End game armor in this game costs 2-3g for a whole set of rares. Maybe 10-15g if you want exotics. By the time most players are level 80 buying a set of exotic armor shouldn’t be too big of an issue.

Sure, some weapons cost 80g+ the reason being everyone and their mom wants one. Those are the exotics required to make legendary weapons.

You’re basically just complaining that luxury items are too expensive, sorry buddy that’s just how the market works.

Maybe not for every single Dynamic Event

Could you please make all event mobs invulnerable for a few seconds, or until they reach a certain spot?

Thank you for proving my point.

And I’ve already given up on trying to AoE the same mobs. Unless I can predict when they’re about to pop up and use it beforehand, I get no credit.

Which type are you having problems with? Defending from waves of mobs? Escort events? Better yet just name the specific events your having issues with.

No, they don’t, else I wouldn’t have made this thread. Some events are pretty much inaccessible at the moment because the mobs are dying on spawn.

Yes, they do. Maybe not for every single Dynamic Event, but this system is already in place. TBH I don’t see why you can’t just AOE the same area everyone else is.
