you may want to talk to your player about appearing on top of walls without portals or gates/walls being down.

Judging by the wooden walls and lack of siege/supply, it looks like you took this tower pretty recently.

And from this video, it looks like that player is running over from the ledge behind the lords room [0:57]. It seems likely that when you took it, he hid on that little wooden ledge near the cliff side below the lord room and came running out there.

I think FA will ride the tier 2 roller coaster for a while until we get stronger in our weak time zones. Once TC rejoins tier 2 I could see us taking more 3rd place finishes. Last time we faced TC we couldn’t beat them.

I disagree. Even back when we first hit T2, I think we were better than TC. We were leading them by 10k points up until a day in the mid-week when the queue in our own BL bugged out. We had 10 people defending with an hour long queue.

We lost everything. Dropped 20k pts and couldn’t make up the ground before reset.

FA took it in the end, after it got flipped twice.

[RET] vs. [TSYM] fights today were intense. You guys are definitely the best guild on SoS. We’re learning a lot from you guys.

Great fights with [RISE] last night. You guys took SMC from us, and after a good hour long battle we took it back.

[RET] was there in force, but due to queues and the rest of the FA community it may have been hard to see us (We probably made up less than 30% of the total force)

Rest assured, you were fighting an organized FA—and everyone was having a blast. Lots of bags on both sides, to be sure.

i would like to how FA just portal bombed in Hills on Dragonbrands BL cause you didn’t have a wall down or gate down but you came though the stairs with 30 people. and no way should a mesmer or anyclass be able to do that.

We broke down that north gate 3 times in an hour. Every time we’d get in, get wiped, resupply and hit the door again. So you may have had a hard time sweeping mesmers with that kind of pressure on you.

Meanwhile, good fights in DB BL. It was good fun all around.

We tried to queue RET into FABL, but we think it was bugged. We got in there… there was basically nobody around. We found maybe 10 people total, and when we queued RET up, thinking we’d get at least half—we got 5.

So unless they was in the JP or something, there was something screwy with the queues today.

I enjoyed that video! I was rolling with the KnT crew while in TS3 with them, so hearing your communications and seeing your side of the battle was a lot of fun. We were impressed by how much damage you guys seemed to be putting out. Great fights! The BG/TC/FA fights that happened in Bay a little bit later were hilarious.

Hey thanks! Yeah, the fights that followed the initial takedown were great. So many epic battles. After a while we kept trying to pull groups into the water so we could have a water battle.

We got one against Icoa on Friday and we really wanted to have another crack at it. Videos of this epic underwater adventure to come!

Also – we haven’t seen many TC Guilds about, but [AL] made a showing on Friday night.

I have an unbelievable amount of footage from this weekend’s brawls.

This video is KnT/BG vs. RET/FA in our attack on BG-held Bay in the TC BL (So closer to our spawn). We knew that we’d have to defeat KnT to take the keep—and every time we did we had to push our advantage HARD to get those walls down before they could rally to defend it. Nevertheless, we got 3 engagements over the course of the siege.

I included, also, all the footage of KnT wiping us as well to keep it as unbiased as possible (as close to a battle-report as I could manage). But keep in mind that we fought KnT half a dozen times after-the-fact with mixed success.

GREAT fights, and I hope nobody misconstrues this as a troll. I have nothing but the utmost respect for KnT after these many engagements.

If FA would stop worrying about the castle for a bit and start taking more keeps, towers and supply camps, we could actually chase down BG in points a bit and not let them run away with the match. While yes, the castle is worth the most points, those points are worthless of that’s all we own. We can always take it down again before the way point is purchased. That upgrade takes a long while to get and is really the only great reason to have the castle.

Myself and another FA trebbed the wall down at ogre watch and only one or two other people responded to my call for help taking it back. After no less than 10 minutes of cleaning out the NPC’s with only the 2 or three of us, BG showed up and killed us maybe 5 seconds before the tower would have flipped back to us. That is rediculous.

Hey it’s always nice to see the update pics with the castle in our column, but then looking at the number to the right of the castle icon being much lower than BG or TC I seriously wonder about the priorities of most of our players in EB.

I respectfully disagre, sir.

SMC is the key to Eternal Battleground. Hold SMC, and you hold every tower within treb distance. No server can just let you hold it indefinitely or you’ll set up trebs and start taking fortified towers with impunity.

Besides, we held all our original points in EB for most of the day :P We (FA) even got enough dolyaks to get reinforced doors on it. 3-4 hours later, BG golem rushed it and cleaned it out.

Throughout the morning, SMC flipped 7 times (total) wth each side taking a piece of it at least once. The fights for it were epic. We got many-a-kill in the lord room with a surprisingly small amount of lag for that kind of fight.

In fact, FA held a strong PPT all day. Today we proved pretty conclusively we belong in this tier. It’s too bad for the server stat reset, but BG will undoubtedly be glad to be rid of us for a while

Flamesword is a GREAT tool for taking down rams. The #3 whirlwind ability does 3k damage to a ram from behind the door. And there’s still meteor shower to add to that.

The Ice bow’s volley is exceptional at killing siege equipment as well.

Amazing fights with AoN last night. You guys are a terrifying opponent and a shame that you decided to leave FA.

There is no doubt in my mind that if the numbers were closer that you’d have run that field rampant. We’re sorry for ruining the GvG with [BT], but we needed revenge for the wipe you dealt us earlier in front of the tower :P

Multiple (5) elementalists cast Tornado (I mean, the elite abilities suck anyways)
A necro drops Wells on the exit portal.
Elementalists take the portal (Tornado gives em stability, so who cares if they see it coming)

Dark Combo Field + Whirl Combo Finisher = Leech Projectiles x5 players with people flying everywhere

Towers that ford rivers/canyons. The fastest way across said-canyon would be to take the tower and use the bridge within.

Otherwise your zerg will have to take the long way around.

I certainly cant speak for an elementalist’s underwater DPS, but they’re kitten good at CC underwater. 3x movement controlling abilities. It’s quite fearsome.

Yeah, we had some great cross-guild communication going on in DB tonight. Great takedown of Hills and Bay and 2 failed Garrison attacks with the same 6 golems

Is anyone else from FA thoroughly amused that we are the zerg server now? So long in this tier and we finally reach the pinnacle of T3, being the server that the other two servers complain about for being too zergy, while we sit here and try to justify our skill.

My thought is this, the meta is stupid, go look for fun however you find it, do that for a few hours then log.

2 weeks ago, it was ‘the norm’ to log on and have to retake the EB keep and get the waypoint up every morning because CD had swept through overnight and flipped everything.

It actually makes me a little sad when I see the green keep in our hands.

… But not that sad We knew right from the day IoJ joined us that we were heading for Tier 2. It wasn’t arrogance, but a matter of coverage. This tier will fare better without us and I hope that Kaineng doesn’t get to just steal their way to tier 2 thanks to mathmagicians and ruin it for Mag/DB

The BT video shows a pretty even fight by my reckoning. 8-10 vs. 8-10.

BT was in tight formation, your guys were completely caught with their pants down, and when they rolled in—your guys fled into the fields before the first target was called.

Perfect example of how devastating first-strike can be—and why you should desperately try to avoid letting your opponent get it.

As was stated earlier, FA has been in tier 3 for a long time without any major zergs to speak of. We dealt with the bigger servers after reclaiming our keeps every morning due to them rampaging overnight.

We learned to use scouts with our smaller groups to avoid walking into culling zerg-groups.

We learned to stay tight together, and use proper target calling in smaller engagements.

But most importantly—we learned when to run away. If you can’t win a fight, then you shouldn’t be fighting it. If you’re fighting in a situation you can’t win—you screwed up. There’s no one to blame but yourself (refer to scouting).

Keep fighting. Stay in the tier, and persevere, and these lessons will come in time.

Transferring off only shows character weakness

If you have a problem with zergs then you aren’t doing it right. Zergs are like cows to the slaughter if you’ve got guilds that know what they’re doing.

If you’re runnin in smaller groups, stick to EB and have your fastest player running in front of the group to scout. Worst case scenario he culls into a zerg and dies, the rest of you hide until they pass, and you pick him up again.

EB is notorious for having smaller-guild warfare. At least from what I’ve seen.

But I won’t get to until Monday. Keep up the right FA! Doin good.

I am really looking forward to giving Maguuma a proper Tier-3 welcome. Next week will be FA’s 11th week in Tier-3. Over these months we have held strong against bigger foes and slooowly battled our way into finally taking 1st place in the tier this week. But suddenly here comes Maguuma, vaulting ahead of us in a single leap, up 4 spots from Tier-4 due to mathematical quirks.

Why is DB fun to fight? Is FA not fun to fight? I find both FA/CD servers equally fun. I dont see a difference on who we are fighting.

There’s a huge difference between CD and DB—especially this last week. Don’t get me wrong, CD has some good players (mad props to those who are staying). But the loss of their core guilds has left their zergs somewhat headless until they can get their community back up on their feet.

And Kary’s right. Just looking for some good fights. Hoping to see some guilds out in DB BL tonight for some good action. I don’t think our actions will affect the outcome of this tier—I’m pretty sure DB is staying in it for at least another week.

CD and DB are pretty tight together to see who remains in tier 3 next week.

I think [RET] is very likely going to be in DB BL today assuming queues don’t suck. Not because we hate you… in fact, we love you. Fighting you guys is way more fun.

I think we need to refocus on the more important issues here.

Tier 2 has 613 posts and gaining fast. We have 689.

If we’re not careful, they’re going to pass us.

No doubt in my mind that DB deserves to be in tier 3. The only reason you might drop to tier 4 is due to server consolidation due to paid transfers. With all the transfers, it means the higher tiers (higher coverage) may become more saturated thereby dropping you guys to tier 4.

But you guys fight like hell, given the numbers you have.

I can tell ya though that we were definitely fighting DB. In one attempt, when DB started attacking your inner N door, we defended the outer breach for you We didn’t want DB to get any more players into the keep so that when they finally broke through and made a push for the lord—they wouldn’t have enough players to wipe FA and CD out. So we’d catch em in a sandwich and then fight CD.

Didn’t pan out though. We may have been too effective in killing DB’s reinforcements. The DB force that was attacking inner couldn’t breach it for us

I’m not surprised about the 0 points thing while we slept. I’d be upset too if a rag tag group of ~15-20 people were able to hold DBBL Bay against a larger than us FA and DB zergs who were not engaging each other.

TBH, most fun I’ve had for a while. I think there were three our four portal bombs right after each other on the lords room.

Fights for the Bay last night were epic

We actually saw saw DB knocking down your northern gate. So we just let them do it. When they went in, we followed in and went to your south inner to try and beat them to the punch while you defended against them :P

We managed to get into your inner, but we just didn’t have the numbers to take you down. Meanwhile, the defeated DB massed up and took hills while we were fighting you :P

Long story short: we were being big jerks—and it didn’t pay off So what’s the problem?

I think we tried to ninja in 3 different times using DB’s hard work of knocking down gates. 3 different times we failed. But it was hella fun.

I’ve got a video which I may post once I get home—depending…

Bigger maps would be a lot more fun. Would make for more intimate battles and wider breadth of strategy.

But I guess they catered to the 12-second attention span of preteens just looking to get into the thick of it—smaller maps means more conflict and, yes, easier for zergs to form naturally (with bottlenecks and conveniently placed sentry circles)

Good fights in the DB BL last night. Every time DB tried to take Bay, we tried to ninja in there and steal it from them. Every time, DB pulled out and went straight back to hills before we knew what was going on.

But we got it all back in the end. Still, props to the DB commander for making the right calls to get out of Bay when they saw us coming in for a 3-way fight.

We’d get into a scrap with CD and someone would yell on teamchat: “DB AT HILLS!” and it was already too late to get back in time.

But for some reason, you guys had a really tough time holding the keep once it was yours. Still made for some epic fights, though.
