Unlike most other (all?) servers TC has a WvW militia culture, not a WvW guild culture.
Case in point: Commander tags for guilds only (i.e. “don’t follow us”) are frowned upon on TC.

sure, but the opposite is true, I’ve been told twice to not follow certain group because they are running havok team. I dunno if that’s a legit reason, but just come across as big ego.

Hopefully whoever told you this wasn’t rude when they did, but if you’re running havok, extra folks who don’t know the comp and tactics of the group are really just rally fodder for opponents. When you’re in a small group, one rally for adversaries generally results in a wipe for the group.

Just figured I’d share the mentality behind asking folks not to tag along – like I said, hopefully they weren’t jerks and took the time to explain why.

pretty much this. EP will run Havok now and then, when we do we will not even tag up. We have a specific goal in mind and we get it done. The more people that are with us, as odd as it sounds, the harder the task becomes.

A minor buff to AC might have been ok, but this is ridiculous honestly. If you’re not on siege you cannot help but feel useless as a player. Before you could throw down your CC and stuff, AC’s on the outside can easily take you down (with heavy toughness build and 3 levels into Siege bunker – not sure what’s their purpose now). Siege wars would’ve been fun when both defense and offense teams had equal level of fun. Now it’s just stupid.

The reason they got so strong is they got buffed. Then add the new WvW skill to it. If they didn’t buff it alone it would probably be ok.

DB has done a very good job in attracting new guilds to their server, As well as FA. They seem to have better coverage now.Although DB seems to have a stronger presence in all the maps more consistently.
TC has not reported for duty it seems this week. Yes we do have our NA prime time, but our off hours is lacking greatly.
The EB battles have been well fought! and none of the servers have taken the upper hand for long.
But as you said it is a long week ahead!

Curious to know this influx of new guilds to FA. Only really heard of a few individual transfers here and there, nothing massive like DB or TC has gotten in the past few weeks.

Yah…people are confused. We have gotten some individual players, but no new guilds in weeks.

Our net gain vs loss is probably the same in any case. ZN bandwagonned to TC, and we probably gained about as many players as they fielded.

They picked the winning server in their tier. That is a bandwagon, and honestly crappy for the game.

That being said, I’m sure they just want to have fun, and I can’t begrudge them what they find fun.

No great loss for us either way.

Thats pretty much what I am reading. Not saying we would be winning or anything, cause honestly DB and FA are bringing it this week. But generally we can field decent numbers in all BG’s during our prime time. But we seem to have little to no presence anywhere atm. Not sure about EB. Have not looked in there.

No, depends on what FA guild you are facing. There are FA guilds that wipe ANY TC guilds 80-90% of the time, and there are also FA guilds that are 50/50 to TC guilds.

There are no guilds that are even 50/50 with [PiNK] that reside on FA. What guild are you in because I’m very interested where your delusions of grandeur come from. Please provide a little more than forum warrior speculation.

I agree Sunspots, Tear was trying to be diplomatic. PiNK has improved though over the last couple of months. Just don’t give up yet and you guys can get there.

Thanks for the praise. It really tore me up inside when your old guild cracked under the pressure of t2 and fled to tier 8 to escape it. You guys came back strong though and are now capable of some pretty even matched fights with TC militia.

As I said earlier, TC seems very angry today. You all should be enjoying this fun match up. I think this video is a fair representation of PiNK and TC’s prowess. Feel free to leave some pointers so we can continue to learn from you.

I truely feel for any server that loses a core group of players to transfers. I remember however the absolute stomping ( spawn camped at every exit for a week) we got from kn when they had the massive influx. Do not know how things will pan out next week theory fighting not my style. However I am sure Mags and Yaks would love some payback.

Payback indeed! Though I don’t think they are really that weak still, given the current score. Their numbers may be dwindling but that’s not enough to prove to me that we can actually go easy on them.

Today in WvW we were following a commander while on TS3 and another one was there following him too. The other commander was not on coms and refused to take off his tag when asked. This caused us to lose ten golems in a stonemist push as the other commander did not push when we needed to causing half of our numbers to be confused and ultimately lose our opportunity to make the push. Is this something that is reportable? The other commander did nothing to help and effectively cause a fifty man group to have to repair.

Have people join the commander squad. If they do this they will ONLY see his tag.

FA is definitely losing coverage…

Just now TC golem rushed our keep in EB. There was a total of three people inside to defend it… with one arrow cart… and they Golem rushed us…

As 20-30 TC players bashed down one door, I ran through another and right into another 20-30 TC players.

During the daytime hours, FA just doesn’t have the numbers. We might be able to get 10-15 players per map; including the one or two spies that call out “TC zerg at bravost get here fast!” while TC takes langor and kain takes QL…

All in all, it’s just getting old

Well, at least its confirmed now. We’ve always thought they were there. Sometimes thier squads respond faster than we do. Pretty sure they are on the voice server too.

lol – you must be new to WvW. That’s a supply camp, not a spawn point. Also, just because a mixed group has a few tags in it doesn’t mean it’s a “guild’s” group. I think I counted 7 different tags in that screen shot.

However, as always, if DIS would like to GvG [VK] is always happy to oblige. I know I’ve asked a bunch in the past, but since you seem to be directly calling my guild out I thought I would bite.

Most people… maybe not yourself but most people will see what guild a zerg is primarily comprised of and call it as that just to generalize it. I think that’s what he was doing. Mind you I wasn’t there. Just going off the pic like you.

I am really at a stand still lol. I have been SB/LB user since the beginning. Obviously not because it was the best. But because I like using bows. Now I WvW ALL the time. Its really all I do and frankly I have noticed the limitations of SB/LB. Your video does seem nice but how it is in a zerg setting, that was he only thing I did not get to see in the video. One could argue I could just try it myself. But sadly it has taken me weeks to get 20g and I would rather not spend all my gold to try out a spec I am not at least a little certain of.

I hate getting involved in another tier’s matchups, but I can’t help but remember it wasn’t even 3 months ago when TC gave SoR so much heat and hate for recruiting and then complaining how they ruined the matchup and how SoR was the bad guy.

Ok I will bite. We didn’t give them heat for recruiting. Well most didn’t, what most people were upset about is they gamed the system to stay in tier 2 as to be able to continue farming.

I hate writing in detail… maybe I should try to remedy that so I stop having to make several posts on the same topic. SoR gamed the system. This is something they admitted too. The reason they gave was they wanted more time in T2 to practice with the new guilds before moving to T1. Now, you can either agree with that, or disagree. Most of TC obviously didn’t like it, I myself was sort of meh towards it. I generally try to look at things from different point of views. I even get why FA is upset. Now, T1 has a good lead on T2, so if in a few weeks we start to no show to simply stay where we are, I myself will throw my hands in the air and call foul as I am sure you will too.

1. Its not BG because the poster talking about the gold gossip eliminated them basically directing us to ‘another server’.

2. I highly doubt JQ would pay more gold for more SEA guilds? They have the most insane SEA in NA by a long shot anyway, I do not think their SEA guilds would want to deal with even more queue times than they already have.

This leaves us with SoR who are coming close to competing with JQ and all they need is more SEA/European. Also they have recently upped their recruitment and managed to get AFS and Tsym so they are probably going all out.

When I was on Dragonbrand – We were up against TC in T3. My guild leader at the time expressed interest in FA on the FA forums. I got a personal message from someone on TC inviting me to Mumble, where they pitched TC. My mind was already made up on going to FA, whether my guild went or not… I have a lot of friends from GW1, and IoJ here… My GL had also told me that he wasn’t interested, so I basically went to hear what they had to say and kind of let it go. So, saying that TC is against recruiting from the matchup is a bit false, as I also heard that they were planning on subtly approaching others on Dragonbrand as well… But I don’t know how true or false that is. Just personal experience.

Well like I said, I am not saying its false. But since no one knows names I will put it out there here. I do not approve of openly recruiting from the server of which you are currently playing against. So if the person you did do that reads this then yea… Do not even know if it will change anything but that is how I feel. I don’t like it. Going to other tiers I am far more open to. Right now though with our recent transfers for our Off hours, I do not think there is really anything else needed.

IMO pets should share a certain % of the players attributes, many other mmos have done this with pet classes and it’s not OP or imbalanced.

This is not those other MMO’s though. So you can not base OP or Balance like that. The pet system does need to be looked at. Pet management does help a good bit especially if you stay on top of it. But even so the pets still die to quick for my taste. Heck in WvW I generally run around with my pet at my side, rarely do I send them in to the fray cause they die in a matter of seconds.

Commander Jadon from Pink – Excellent at communication, reacts quickly to scouts. Also communicates in mumble and chat.

Nightlight from CERN – almost and exact copy of Odinzu.

Zudori from iNf – Excellent communication skills reacts quickly to scouts.

There are probably more that I am leaving out = ( but these are the main ones I run with.

Just so it’s clear, all those CD guilds which went to TC shopped around first. They did approach us at JQ and asked us to pay more than what TC was offering and they would xfer over. We respectfully declined, but for fair warning to you guys they did say that if things looked glim on TC they would come back to talk to us.

Honestly, any server that resorts to paying guilds to move over to them does so at their own risk and at the sacrifice of everything they’ve worked for up to that point.

When I heard TC was paying guilds to xfer over I was quite honestly shocked. Might as well call yourselves BG 2.0 now.

Only reason we were able to compete with Kain last week was because some of our commanders and dedicated players played some insane shifts almost to the point of burnout.

Understatement = (. I and others in EP pulled 16 hour shifts. Odinzu was on 30 hours, Nightlight I think was on 38. Do not know how they were still talking.

no, your point gain is from having about twice as many people in wvw than the other two servers have. your point loss is from said commanders having no clue how to play wvw other than massing 80 people into a zerg and losing every point they aren’t at.

That made me laugh really really hard. We have several commanders on our server that are of excellent quality. Odinzu and Nightlight are 2 of them. I am certain your server has its fair share of excellent commanders. Despite the jokes and stabs at your server you wouldn’t of made it to T2 with out them.

Haha we are outnumbered pretty badly right now. KN and TC zergs rolled through our BL fairly handily, all while we were rocking the Outmanned Buff. It was pretty awesome how TC was trebbing/cata’ing our Garri and KN ninja’ed it out from under us because we were so focused on TC.

Overall though this is pretty fun, very “back against the wall” against all odds feel. =)

That ain’t 2 v1 though…that is opportunity knocking and someone jumping all over it. 2 v1 would have the KN & TC commanders plotting together and agreeing on attack or agreeing not to attack each other.

This isn’t happening. Red is Dead on every server outside of the fight clubs.

Where did I say it was a 2v1? Nowhere… I feel like some of you are way too defensive. One person posts a 2v1 complaint and 6 different people reply to decry the accusation. Then you try to say a post not about 2v1 is a complaint of 2v1…?

Those whose claim 2v1 clearly do not understand how WvW works and that point has been hashed and rehashed multiple times over multiple threads over multiple months of gaming. If they don’t grasp the concept by now they never will. The best response to 2v1? Nothing. My advice is to ignore it, as all ignorant posts should be.

Oiiii 2v1 talks again. Its a 1v1v1. Which means in the process of 7 days, you WILL get 2v1 at some point. Its going to happen. Hell TC map chat says at times “They are 2v1ing us”. This is in EB. Does that mean its an official 2v1? Heck no, more often than not, it means our targets are easier to take at time, perhaps they are wooden towers. Or perhaps its the opportunistic commander who see’s server ‘A’ putting up a big defense against server ‘B’, at which point the commander says, hey lets hit em here while they are stuck at said tower. Both servers do that to us here at TC, and you know what. We do it to them too. Meaning… IT HAPPENS. 2v1 is always a temporary thing.

Ursan is essentially correct. Players will always want their class to be stronger – but devs have to temper that with overall balance on many different levels. Sometimes a simple number fix will suffice, but sometimes there is more to it.

We see the problems and read the threads. We all play the game and experience it like you all do. Prioritizing what gets fixed, when, and how isn’t a simple task, but we are making headway.

Oh I know its not a simple task and I do not in anyway shape or form Envy you. I do however hold great respect for being able to put up with the angry mobs. Heck I have been in them before.

I’m still here and lurking about (as is the balance team), gathering information to bring to meetings. For the first couple days after a patch, people are still figuring things out and getting used to changes. We didn’t kill rangers (I was doing some PvP last night, and have done a couple dungeon runs). It’s just that there’s a predictable reaction to when we change something, that we have killed classes and destroyed builds, and there’s nothing I can say or do to help in those situations. Sometimes you have to sit back and let the community sort themselves out… people depend on something (quickness) and then when that gets changed, there’s an initial period of confusion, but its always followed by “look what I can do” because people are being forced to try new things, and they do a bit of experimenting they may have not have done before.
Sure things need more attention. LB, pets, spirits.. they all need some love on our part, and they will get it. I may not be the best PvP’r out there, but I was first/second place on my team in the three games I played as a ranger (deer rank!), and I was still effective against other classes. the new quickness speed will take some getting used to, but it by no means destroyed rangers.

But me going into every thread about someone claiming bad things and giving expressions isn’t going to help (there are also a lot of those threads that I just wouldn’t be able to keep track of due to time constraints). So I sit back, watch, take notes for meetings, and try to find a good time to post to help guide the conversation.

Hey man, I think that part of the problem at the moment is that there is a big disconnect between the developers and the community. Many of the players feel Rangers should be heading in “X” Direction, while the developers feel Rangers should be heading in “Y” Direction.

And I am not saying that’s a bad thing. I am not saying Y is any worse than X or Visa Versa. Both could be great in the end. Just feels like we are not on the same page even remotely with the Devs.

Ok have been playing with the Catsassin build all day. And while I do decent with it, I just dont like it. I actually find it rather sad and very unfun to play ranger when my pet is doing more damage than me…. I always thought the ranger should be more 70/30 damage in favor of the ranger.
