I always feel like focusing too much on one aspect for a build will always be your downfall. Boon removal will be a big annoyance to you.

4/2/0/4/4, Dark Path is awesome, bleeds do as they’re supposed to, and the chilling+teleport is just freaking awesome. Say the enemy teleports, I can teleport too, get em to condition cleanse early and go HAM
Spectral Grasp! Axe is fine. That is all.
There ya go~ It’s got a bit of learning curve to it, but its really good for 1v1’s and small group fights.

Theorycrafted and freaking awesome! Competes with every class and conquers most. Boon removal for any boon lovers, condi swap for not just cleansing, but also TRANSFERS condis! (awesome). Might on signet usage, and awesome damage output.
Great survivability, I am very pleased with this build.
If anyone gets the jump on you, spectral armor will activate at 50% giving you the life-force you need to survive, plague signet will give you instant condition removal AND break stun AND grant might. Need to do even MORE damage? Signet of vampirism gives an awesome spike in damage and will add to your already healing hits. Oh they stealth? Switch to secondary, get more might, and bam, easy access to aoe attacks before resorting to death shroud.
Tired of people running? Spectral grasp ya’ll >:3 Stability? not with spinal shivers, which is also traited to activate when attacking and enemy below 50% – goodbye boons.
Not sure how I can break it down any further, everything else can be learned through practice of the build. Good luck to all ya’ll necro’s! Give me a shout if you see me in PvP (Ambitious Ashley)
Lastly, perfectly viable for PvE (dungeons) survivability is just dandy, and dps is plenty acceptable

I love spectral grasp, it pulls off people attempting to rez (in PvP), and off points if capping. It’s chill is ALWAYS useful as well. Its great with the dagger immobilize and then Flesh Golem’s charge (or well of suffering) .
Spectral grasp is the only spectral move on my bar however, I just made this new build (theory crafted) and my win rate is like 75-80%. I’ve gone into 1v1’s that turned into 2v1’s and still won (if the timing is right).
I run d/f + a/d so it always pulls em into my range, and the chill is just great!
Check out my suggestion:

I think you could say our posts are somewhat around the same topic, yea? Throw in some more tweaking and we could have a great idea in our (and their) hands.
So I had this idea of new weapon skills, and I thought a cool way to get em would be specific quest lines – given by the unplayable races (Kodan, Skritt, Hylek, Tengu, Quaggan, Krait, Centaur, Ogre, etc.)
The weapon skills learned are also varied, pending on which quest line is completed:
-Hylek/krait quest line rewards new moves for rifles, short bows, swords, and torches
-Kodan/ogre quest line rewards new moves for maces, focus, hammers, and greatswords
-Skritt/centaur quest line rewards new moves for pistols, shields, axes, and war horn
-Tengu/quaggan quest line rewards new moves for longbows, scepters, staves (staffs? whatever)
I’m not suggesting full 1-5 brand-new weapon skills, but possibly 1-3 new moves that add a different play style + a new dynamic to how classes can choose to play in WvW n PvP.
Also, after completing quest lines for the new moves, you could unlock a trader from whom you can purchase a cape back-item (with a pattern/design unique to the quest line which’ll give more incentive to complete each quest line) for gold.
This idea is fresh from yesterday’s conversation in TeamSpeak, hope you readers like the idea and show support. We all want capes, here’s a BA way to get em, and some more new stuff to do.
