I love using turrets. Much more useful then people give them credit for. Been using a point defender build that does well at healing the party, knocking opponents out of point and wearing them down. Here is what I have been using if anyone’s interested.
Was using net over flame but now prefer the flame for aoe stealth and blind plus extra damage.
Only having the heal for pvp I think would make sense.
I would be happy if they nerfed mesmers and thief’s abilities and shorten the time on our explosion before we can use it.
If you are doing pvp. you need a stun breaker, i go up alchemy all the way and get exliris grant might and 20% less exliri time, this applies to you f1, f2,f3 exlirs also.
Fast acting elixirs don’t effect our F key abilities.
I have been using a full turret build and doing very well actually. Always thought they were useless. Completely in love though. Been able to hold off 2 to 3 people with this set up thanks to all the healing, knock backs, and high armor. Only thing I don’t like is the long unnecessary CD on turrets.
So playing around with builds and came up with this. Probably has been done already but I was very surprised by how well I did. I’m a average player for the most part and have had a hard time breaking 200 points in matches. Last couple I was around 250. With a little work I can hold off three people for a decent amount of time thanks to the large healing, push backs, and knockdowns.
To be fair though us engineers were clearing the most OP class in the game.
I’m not really bothered by the nerf as much as nothing about our class has been fixed. Turrets still seem useless, buffs are to random, regular weapons do low damage and our supposedly great versatility is non existent yet we are gimped for it. They buffed some kits a little but flamethrower still seems unusable. I have played several other classes and none are so clunky or play so poorly. What the hell do I know though.
So disappointed. A few small improvements to a couple of kits doesn’t seem to actually fix what is basically a broken class. Love my engineer but just about out of hope for the class being worth a kitten in pvp.
I just found out a new reason to hate. Fast acting elixirs doesn’t affect thrown elixirs or the elixir gun. I kind of understand the gun but thrown? So lame.
Love my engineer but I do have a lot of class envy. Playing double pistols condition with elixirs and love it but feel so many other classes do equal or better damage and have better survivability. On the reverse if I go defensive I feel others are just as hard to kill and do better damage. After playing several classes though I still keep coming back to my engineer.
Been running duel pistols conditions build and finally finding that I can hold my own against them. Glue shot keeps them from running to much elixir s stops there burst and potentially gives stealth and the 3 conditions tear through there heath. I’m so in love with this set up. For me its the perfect amount of survivability damage and control. Only thing I miss are knockbacks.

This is a game. Games are ment to be fun. Nothing is more fun for me then bashing someone in the face with a prybar. Although the Nut kick in star wars is close.
Love the engineer. Who else would have the balls to pull out a pistol and make it a flamethrower.
I have had a lot of luck using the flame, rocket, and rifle turret to protect points. Most people ignore them and chase me so i mix dodges and shield abilities to keep safe and let my turrets wear them down. With supply drop and the extra turret damage from traits I have a pretty good time with my turrets. Think I’m going to try rifle and elixirs though.
Am I the only one who thinks its unfair that engineers don’t get a weapon swap and then have to give up a skill slot just to swap weapons. At least elementalist get 4 unique weapon sets for every weapon and still get all there skill slots. Why don’t they give engineers the ability to equip the extra packs and kits they use into a weapon slot swap. Why are we the only ones who don’t get weapon swaps.
