I’ve played the game since LS1, quit a month after HoT released, and now I started playing again, and the more I played the more I realized how changed the game is now.
And by changed I don’t mean content, features or mechanics being shifted around or added, but the core of what GW2 used to be seems lost.

I came to GW2 after years of hardcore raiding in WoW, it was something new and different, and altho it wasn’t the “WoW killer” everyone expected it to be, it was fresh and interesting enough to be unique and have its own place in the crowded MMO world.
Everything was focused on cooperation, I was literally shocked by how nice the community was ingame compared to WoW, the content was designed for large numbers of players, etc…

Now, I don’t know anymore, it just feels like all those things are just there in the background, with GW2 now focusing on raids, and the community shifted massively with this change. That old content is still there ofc, but it’s just that, old content, that…it’s there.

- The amount of salt, elitism and player base split makes this game no different than any other MMO now, especially with meters being introduced to the game. Players will always choose to be first in a numbers competition over helping someone else. It’s the nature of competitive gameplay.
- You also now have mandatory holy trinity as well if you want to succeed in top tier content. Not needed for open world content, but like I said that content it’s either old or not really relevant. You don’t really need a holy trinity if you do old content in WoW either for example, or for mindlessly killing horses to skin them for leather.
- You don’t have any gear treadmill, but you now have the mastery treadmill if you want to succeed in end content, it’s like potayto/potahto, still a treadmill that will get obsolete eventually. Tell me how I can use the Itzel mastery in LS3 please, or the Exalted one, or the Nuhoch. Doubt they will be useful in any new content ever again. But you needed to get them because Anet gated some content behind those masteries, so they weren’t really optional. It’s the same as farming for a tier of gear that will get obsolete when the new fancy one appears, e.g. the new LS3 mastery track.

TLDR; What makes GW2 different than any other generic MMO right now?

How would you convince a WoW player for example to come and play GW2 today? Because I can’t think of anything else but “well it’s like WoW, but different…it has asuras instead of gnomes, and you don’t need 100 addons to be able to get into a raid…yet”

I 100% agree with it been playing 5 years i can now stop and can tell you this HoT broke the game in a way. For pve not so much but better. But for wvw and PvP it’s chaos. Skills were not hiting as hard like it is now (aka powercreep). Classes as before HoT was more skill play and the trait lines like leet specialization didn’t carry the player you actually had to be skilled as player. Now with the leet special trait it requires little to none to play. Also, good luck playing core now cause leet is broken vs core users.

I get it hought why they allow the state of the game. To bring in new players so they feel just as good as the vet players. So, now its been over a year… anet it’s time to tone it down or release a new trait for more skill play or make full core traits relevant again.

I’ve been reading all these posted forums about rangers or to be specific druid trait. To be honest the ones crying only made ranger because of druid and cries when it was legitly adjusted. Sotp was an obvious one and shout heal as well. Cele form fix is perfect because it became to forgiving for mistakes with ‘We heal as one’ gaining cele form fast with Regen boon not even counting staffs healing skills. The shortbow was needing some love and we got it. Finally we have a unblockable skill/trait for our pets. Greatsword had some attention. Also, I got to say is if the Cele form and the two shout skills really ohurts your only build you play it seems from what I’ve read; you’ve made the ranger class for the wrong reason. So just leave the class to the vets and stop crying about your HoT influence toon or actually play the ranger class besides playing your bunker pet carrying druid build. This is coming from a 4 year old ranger with no problems with adapting.

Its not fine not until you fix the AF build up scale a little better with damage. If that does not happen, Druids are still pigeonholed into NM/BM/Druid Staff Menders.

I am talking bout higher MMR matches here against skilled players/organized teams. So please think over your rebuttal.

If you know how to play ranger or at all besides meta build like me you will do fine in ‘higher mmr’. Your reply is not productive but trying to rationalize that I’m speaking on low tier terms aka suck. Guess I hit a soft spot on your nerves.

Again you are rationalizing. Those players use meta builds. You keep assisting that BM/NM/Druid is the only stat path to make it. You can make wild/BM/ Skrim work, you can make wild/BM/nm work, you can make BM/wild/druid, you can make bm/mm/druid work, you can make bm/Skrim/druid work and you can even make wild/nm/Skrim work all using smokescale and bristleback using longbow/staff with either greatsword or s/d depending on traits and what works for you. Try playing the class more besides one stat path aka meta.

Also like to add is druid was ment for support not heavy DPs but for healing not both so it makes sense to adjust default healing so that using healing power trinkets/armor would be a more logical path. So either zerk stat for DPs and support yourself or healing stat for bunkering and team healing; not both.

Pets that are not bristilback and smoke scale need a rework period.
Not only do they have issues hitting moving targets but they also die in 2 seconds. I am fine with a glassy pet such as a tiger dying easily if it gets focused (compared to bb or ss) what i am not ok with is it dying because it gets cleaved down by random aoe not targeted at it. In this situation (teamfight) you are playing without a class mechanic, and if you have 1 pet that can participate in a team fight (basically only bb or ss) you are forced to not swap from it because the other one will die instantly.

I don’t expect every pet to be able to blink to a target or to have the same survivability as smoke scale but i am not fine with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIQZb-iuLmk&feature=youtu.be
the wyverns are the worst offenders when it comes to actually hitting moving targets but all other pets suffer from this in some capacity. The only pets that come close to being useful are the feline and birds (they are not free from this issue, they also end up running in circles after targets not hitting anything) but like mentioned they die in 2 sec.

A easy solution to this would be to give pets the pve buff which makes them take 90% less dmg if they are not targeted by the source of damage (this way they will never die to aoe unless the opponent locks on to the pet while the aoe is ticking), and making the 30% increased movement speed trait from bm baseline while replacing it with supper speed (so it reads your pet gains supper speed when you swap it ~5sec and increased ferocity). This way non smokescale melee pets would be able to actually participate in fights.

If none of these changes happen (or similar changes) then every ranger in the game will always use smoke scale and bristilback in pvp (and wvw) no matter what you do to them, you could nerf their damage by 70% and they will still be the only ones used because they are the only FUNCTIONAL pets.

As the video show it would seem bad. But what you fail to realize that each pet offers different play and you have to work with and combo with. Pets are not meant to carry you. Sad thing is druid trait and bb/ss pets have made influence HoT ranger/druid players to overlook the different gameplay each pet brings and these players assume the other pets should carry like bristleback and smokestack brings. It’s not the pets it the players. With wyverns it’s not meant for its auto but for knock back and it’s f2 aoe pressure (fire+might blasting)/knock back (lighting aoe for swift blast or leap stun).

As for pets dieing fast. The HoT pets have more health which make them more unique. So, they could up the health for core pets; other than that watch your pets health. You can call them to you if they take to much heat if you’re a vet ranger pre you would know this. So part of the pet dieing is you kitting and leaving your pet behide; it’s you letting it die most of the time.

New AF question

Since AF is now on a 15 second CD in PVP, would Staff/Dolyak/Sow/Regen or whatever combination you like, still be mandatory?

I mean, there is no reason to have AF filled faster since you are still stuck with the 15 second gate?

Will non-AF focused builds, like one without staff be viable?

Just have a longbow with either greatsword or sword/dagger with Regen up and keep pounding it will work out. So, yes a none staff build will work.

Just waiting on all the HoT influence ranger/druid noobs QQ. As a 2012 ranger player and that’s all I play think these nerf/fixes are fine and I can adapt to these changes because I have in the past 4 years. Plus the changes/nerfs is not bad at all. Just roll menders if you are not good at ranger/druid or stop QQing. Plus, Healing power for druid is actually a buff. So, either you play on a skillful level or menders if you’re worried about healing.

I need help. Please help spread the word.

I’m going to keep this nice and simple. I logged on like I do everyday like everyone else. I notice mail notification. Checked it and yes its my 4th year gift Iv been waiting on. Opened it and boom everything is A o.k. but there is a catch I did not received my backpack. That’s fine so I double click the birthday card (5000 karma). Still did not receive the backpack or the achievement. So, that’s fine I send a ticket. Gave all the necessary information needed. Despite all the effort they (GM Stinky Ghost (Guild Wars 2 Support)) said, “Please keep in mind that I’ll be unable to unlock the achievement for you but I’d like to investigate this further in case of a potential anomaly.”

That’s fine. So waited a day. No feedback. 4 day later still no answer. So I’m asking any GM and players to help me spread this message to solve this issue. I’m a long support vet guild wars player I never ask for any request or help unless it is a bugs/in-game items missing or botting issue.

Would it be cool if we had more armor skins to play around with other than the “regular skins” found in-game? I main that would be more unique. I don’t know that’s just me. Last best thing in my opinion was the Zodiac Armor because mainly for me it was the unique animation from the Helm, glove and Chest Piece and it would fit with some of the other armor pieces from in-game. It just makes players more unique besides having a forced outfit. Plus, most people hate the Helms on some of the outfits and also we like our Snowflakes and Bats animation with our armor. Guess I’m asking for more armor skins with unique animations in the game store.

Just an idea from a long time Guild Wars Fan.

To be honest you don’t need legendary weapons. I’v played sense pre-beta and don’t have not one legendary. Why because I don’t have my parents credit card to drop in the gem store and have a life so I can’t dedicate the time to do legendary’s. People that can get them get support from stream watchers for cash and even get gifts from the viewers. So any from above say its not hard are fools because their the ones the suck up to either get cash from donations , item gifts or even suck up in guilds for help for legendary’s. Guess one, guess you can do that; get help from ones the don’t care for legendary’s. So you’re looking at spending in gem for cash or grinding hours on in for it. Not casual at all even more now sense release of HoT. I have to be honest I was excited for the legendary changes till now. Guess two, guess I’ll wait for another 3 years. Plus the time I put in doing Tangle Depths is a pain at the moment to complete mega event. Guess three, guess ArenaNet will play their game legitly to see the mistakes they overlooked so far for casual players. Hey ArenaNet got to make their money somehow from all the ignorant hardcore players if you want to call them hardcore players. Not mad completely just annoyed from the 25% of the community that say its not hard. Hate away haters.

I like that weapon skills cost energy. Adds punishment to uneccessary spamming and the costs are not that high. 5-15 is completly manageable.

Skills require work and number tuning, but idea is legit.

I disagree. The energy cost is to high. Plus with that and recharge on it makes you more useless. You have to wait tell it recharges and if you don’t have the energy after it’s done recharging it will leave you open, weak and running away.

Plus the Revenant support/healing is low and radius to small in centaur stance. No blocks, no regeneration and better/improve stability . Not impress with trait lines none works to better the current weapons or the stance (some trait lines help stances only on swap but not noticeable). Energy management need to be better and the energy on weapons is holding the skills back even after the “recharge” which makes it pointless. Healing recharge is to long for what it offers which sometimes don’t help vs condition spam and stun, daze, and etc. Hammer skill 1 way to slow. Staff skill five needs to be lock on or ground target based skill; not forward motion which is easily avoidable, you don’t even have to dodge just your foe walking to the left or right will end up you missing. Skill 5 on axe seems buggy, not pulling target. Skill 2 on Mace seems slower to cast than skill 2 on guard Mace.

Even with all that it’s still interesting but not impressive. Just flashing with animations. Kind of disappointing and I hope this is not the complete offer of the class. I’m assuming Anet is holding the class back cause its beta. I don’t know we see.

Dear Anet,

I’m sure its just me, because I didn’t already see this on the forum, but how hard would it be to let my pet names be stored with the pet?

Actually, Rangers have been asking for this since August 2012.

It is the 2nd post on this forum and was answered by a Dev back then too! I cannot believe they have not implemented it by now.

Here is what I do, when I change my pets. I click the option to change pets name before I switch pets. Once that window is open I select my pet than I click OK button in the pets name window and boom quick and easy and you don’t have to retype your pets name.

That is all well and good, but what if you do not want the same name for all pets? Many people would like specific names for each.

I don’t understand. The name well be the same that your want to keep. If you want a totally different name than the comment don’t apply to you.

[Edit] Think I understand that you’re asking for a list of saved names for each pet but that would be a lot of work and data room for Arena Net to do that is irrelevant to be honest. My way of doing is perfectly fine and I don’t hate Arena net for not doing so cause that would go out their way for just pets which is a very small issue to even worried about.

Please Arena Net do not.. do NOT remove this trait. People still use this trait and it helps a lot. I’v played ranger from day one of release and even during beta. Removing this will not only make people upset, it will break the ranger that is still somewhat weak. This is a PLEA to not remove this useful trait. PLEASE KEEP THIS TRAIT (Hide in Plain Sight).

There are actually a few simple things they could do to fix the bow issue.

Change Eagle Eye to:
Increases range of Short bow, Long Bow and Harpoon gun
Increases Short Bow, Long Bow and Harpoon gun damage by 5%

Swap it with Remorseless Moving it from X to XII

This change would put it on par with other classes as nearly every class has the ability to increase the damage of all of their weapons by 5-10% as it is.

Change the effect of the trait Remorseless from “regain opening shot when you kill a foe” to “Short bow no longer requires you to be flanking or behind a target to apply bleeds.”

No other classes bleed attacks with a ranged weapon require that you be behind or to the side of a target. At least with this trait rangers would be on even ground with warriors and thieves ranged attacks that apply bleeds from every direction.

Allow rangers to stow their pets and gain a buff for doing so. There are so many issues with the pet AI that we could write a small book about them. If rangers were given the option of a buff to stats and no pet or a pet I think Anet would be amazed at how many rangers would be running around with out a pet… They would exchange the “utility” provided by the pet for raw power and precision. Most Sigs add 180 to a given stat. Perhaps by putting away their pet rangers could receive 180 power and precision.

I like the “option to have or not have pets”. I like your train of thought.

Some of you are missing my point. Let me clear it up for you.

I started this game 4 weeks ago. I tried every profession and seemed to love the “ranger profession” more than the others. I invested time and money into, Not just play time, but time to get good. First indication to me how bad this class is should of been when i really couldnt find any stand-outs or any really good information concerning the profession. Most ppl i talked to or read were very unclear as to how the ranger worked specifically. Not alot of technical skill videos, montages, or at play vids could be found that werent under 3 + months old. But I ventured on.
Now I have come to understand fully that this class is really broken on so many levels. The truth is, Not one of you can purley tell me how this class is to be presented in the context of this game. There is no definition to this profession at all by ANET. There isnt 1 build that works over another build. There isnt even a build that stands out more than others. I promise you, take any other class skill for skill gear for gear, and you will find it does most of the sand box better than this class.
look online and you can see stand outs all over in the other classes with virtually 1-3 possible builds that work very effeciently.
Point is – in 2 weeks i was 80 and working hard at my gear. The gear i decided on was to out range, evade in up close combat, kite and allow my pet to do 50% of the work. What i found was astonishing. I found that play style does now work. So i compromised. I went to melee, and that my friends is where the patch came in. Now, to enjoy this game i had a choice. 1.) do WvW to get all those badges back to buy gear that may or may not work with a new build, or 2.) run PVE to get that same gear (which i loath), or 3.) buy it from the auction house.
This is unacceptable to me. If someone told me, “hey come play this game, choose a professions, level it up, and then spend countless hours tweaking, gearing and regearing till you find something that actually works to meet your play style, but oh you wont find it”. I would of told them to kitten off.
So, here we are. None of you guys can legitamatley tell me what works and what doesnt work. We are all argueing about whether or not the profession should excel at range or close corders….but your all missing the point.! We dont excel at anything for any reason. And for me to spend another countless amount of hours trying out another build, running around gearing up for it, buying runes, getting legendarys, just to find im kittened? no thanks… If i want to play this game it will have to be with a class that works.
Dont miss understand me, every class has some limitations. I truley understand that. But this is broken and you guys should be mad as kitten for it. You paid good money and here we are with a pet that can not even stay on target, a bow that stops auto attacking for unknown reasons and 5 different pairs of gear to that take hours to equip, plus countless other glitches and designer mishaps, just to try out the class.
My time is valuable to me. I choose to play online games for the fun of it. This isnt fun. Less than a month ago i paid money for a game that was suppose to work. It doesnt IMO. And we as a community can allow developers to develop a game while we sit and wait patiently for “our turn” or we can demand it to work now!

I totally agree and with you on that statement. I my self have a Ranger (main), all I play, still trying to play around with my traits and gear. Spend to much rl money and in-game time (WvW) and still get out played from 4 classes ( you all know what they are). And I refuse to to re-roll, that’s just to much time and effort. Maybe they have future plans for Ranger? I sure hope so.

Ranger Vs. Thief (s/p & sb), Mesmer shatter, Engineer and necro cd are little OP.
I dual several times with my ranger (s/d or s/t & sb (before nerf) . Don’t get me wrong some thief’s a ranger can take; the others from above sentence, not so much. Ranger can give them a long fight but at the end the ranger wont make it. For ele’s , wars, ranger vs. ranger, and guardians are more fair fights for rangers. This is just my opinion on the matter.

Teleport hacking started in the game early in its release. How long do they need to wait until they are going to get “the bulk” of players who are reluctant to use these hacks. There is a reason why most AAA games don’t have these issues like Anet does. Because they use Anticheat detection and put effort into detecting cheats without relying solely on detailed and time consuming community reports. Anet only seem to care about botters and truth be told, IDGAF if players bot as long as it does not mess with my PvP and my WvW.

It’s all about they money is why they only care about tackling the botters than getting cheaters that break this game. Maybe ArenaNet will wise up to this issue, just maybe or let us know more about their process on this issue.

Eles got a buff. Clensing wave trait is now every 5 secs instead of 10. Thats like extra 1-2k heals every 10 sec plus condi remove. d/d ele is super tanky now

plus 15 to 10 secs for it to recharge when you switch attunements still don’t look like a buff to me.

Just want to vent via qq, like everyone here. I logged on, hopped on havoc duty on my d/d ele. Usually we roam with 3 thiefs and 2 d/d eles. Never had a problem keeping up with the thieves in the past, and I wanted to see how bad it would be. After 15 minutes, of constantly falling behind and being an overall hindrence, I got off havoc duty and rejoined the main guild group, holding my head in shame and lamenting being relegated back into 30 v whatever fights. I shouldn’t be forced to roll a thief to roam. The early days of getting insta gibbed by backstab/heartseeker spam built up too much hate in my heart. Come on ANET, give some love back the eles direction. I mean even if we could get away from anyone its not like we could drop 13k damage in 3 seconds after coming out of stealth, and still run away.. cough

Lol yeah I had a thief doing that to me yesterday on my ranger. Man I was raging so hard. Is was so stupidly funny.

Traveling the open PvE world with RtL was one of the most fun parts of this class. It wasn’t even as fast as some other professions, but it was more entertaining. There was absolutely no reason for it to be nerfed in PvE. All you did was make the game less fun and more tedious.

I have a hard time fighting great elementalists, and i’ve yet to see one use mist form in an 1v1 battle. If the game was balanced, 1v2 or 1v3 would be hard, but the fact that it isn’t should tell us something.

Yes, what it tells us is that a S/D or D/D Ele as the 1 versus the 3 is playing totally bunker which is how he is surviving. Usually, the 3 are full zerker. Its the natural evolution for expecting a squishy mage to fight at melee range with zero inherent class defenses like stealth or distortion.

I mean, have any of you watched daphoenix? Taking on 1vX in many videos, very infrequently downing anybody, plays very defensively, uses inventory consumables constantly, etc., etc.

A build in full bunker spec SHOULD have an easier time surviving in a lopsided engagement (1vX) then a zerker build. Obviously.

People keep bandying about the term “balance” without actually thinking about what it means. They say Eles are OP and unkillable then ignore the fact that the Ele was built solely to sustain and harass via a bunker build which is doing exactly what it is built to do.

Just because every braindead Thief and Warrior player runs full glasscannon does not mean Eles do or should. Have you ever wondered why many Eles stick to Knight’s or PVT gear? Its due to Eles having no natural defenses and having to build extremely defensively to survive.

Oh and for MOST Ele players, 1v2 and 1v3 is very difficult. Not every player is daphoenix or osicat. You cannot balance a class around what 1% of the population can do, just like you don’t balance a class around what 1% of the population plays (i.e. sPvP). I mean, you CAN, but ANet has to see the negative impact they’re having.

You also cannot resurrect someone in mist form anymore (that really helped everyone in WvW and keeps the battle running) and you cannot finish someone down in mist form (I loved doing that – removing it is unjustified considering the thief can still finish people while invisible)

I honestly think people screaming about the nerfs are prone to hyperboles. It’s really not that critical. I’m much more annoyed by the persistent lack of buffs to areas that desperately need them, like Air Staff.

It sometimes feels like they only look at items that are potentially overpowered in competitive pvp and pay no attention to anything else.

To me and others it is if you ever decide to use d/d or s/d in pve or WvW than you should reconsider your comment.

Spending a lot more time reading and posting on forums complaining about the heavy handed nerfs ANet is handing out that have no logical or rational consistency with either the classes themselves or actual game balance.

The desire to login and actually play is beginning to be a fleetingly rare event. I never wanted to play Warrior-Thief Online, I thought I was playing Guild Wars 2. The push against Eles now is strikingly similar to the marginalization of the GW1 Ele to an ER boon prot heal/support as the only viable build.

For a class type that stereotypically in most forms of media is the “nuke from range” character, ANet’s design decisions make little, if any sense. The idea of an Ele as a “jack of all trades” would be nice if it was the case, but its not.

Its times like these that make me wish game companies would stop making MMOs, because it seems that even the fun ones tend to poop all over themselves after a while by listening to a very small vocal minority because they scream the loudest. I mean, the whole point was to nerf the S/D bunker in PvP, and yet these nerfs were applied globally and actually make Ele players in ALL game modes bunker further to compensate for the lack of mobility and survivability.

I just don’t get it.

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say here. The point is that MF allowed us to mess up, get completely outplayed, eat a huge burst, and then reset. Now you need to pop MF before you get hit by the burst. This holds true in every game mode. It has nothing to do with whether you (the ele) can kill a group of 5 quickly (are you talking about players or mobs? eles can kill 5 mobs faster than most any class).

And of course the nerf is “relevant,” otherwise you wouldn’t be complaining about it.

Just don’t complain when you can’t kill a Ranger.

Killing a ranger is about being able to put out more damage than he can heal back. The biggest factors here are how consistently you can land your burst skills as soon as they come off cooldown. If you only use burning speed every 20-25 seconds because you lose track of your CDs and you only land 2/3 of them, the ranger is going to outheal your damage. Mist form has nothing to do with this.

Either way the nerf was unnecessary on my point of view prier from the before nerf of the MF skill. I respect your input.

Since Eles now have less mobility than half the classes in the game and no special defenses like stealth or distortion, does that mean we get the Warrior’s health pool and armor value? No? Oh. Well then how are Eles supposed to survive in melee combat with abysmal mobility, no escapes, and even more reduced healing ability?

Anet apparently wants you to make a bunker build, because they do not want you to stay alive the same way you are used too. So you can expect not less but more bunker builds because that’s what everyone is going for now after this disastrous patch.

Personally I’ll just move 10-12% of my power and precision into my health and vitality. It sucks but that’s all I can do, played last night and died much more than usual. So I either stop playing the game or boost my eles health to around 18500 and see if it can stay in a zerg battle and not run away.

It’s funny how with RTL they are supposedly preventing you from running away but with Mist form they are forcing you to run away. Apparently they cannot make up their mind abound it.

One thing is certain in my opinion, they are in a process called normalization. The spells are getting compressed into a limited range of effectiveness. Overall it makes the game less fun to play, because everything end up doing the same thing and only the visual effect is different.

now that I think about. It does seem like anet is trying to make it easier for melee classes to bash kittens.

Also the med and heavy armor need to be checked cause my ranger has more or the seem armor sets of my guardian, I just think that funny. Maybe im setting up something wrong on my guardian. Rangers armor at 3,050+(3,200+ with signet) and guardian armor is about 3,000+ or bout seem as ranger standard armor. And yes both have exotic armor on them.

Anyways yeah seem like the melee is the thing now.

Thank you very much for your advices. I play the ele since release and have some tricks in my bags. Yes we are spoiled and that s why we were in the top three roamers. You can get away even as a guardian if the enemy doesn t persist to chase you, but if he persists you wont get away, that s why you see 0.2% of the solo roaming population beeing necros and guards. This is what saddens me, we have had a whole aspect of the game removed and the left over roaming classes will be the ones with access to stealth. Closest tower would have been spawntower and i chose the water route in hope they would give up, and actualy got quite some distance between me and my attackers. exept well, the bloody bear… but honestly running always to the nearest tower is not what i understand under a roaming class.

If you hit a rabbit when you use RTL you do not have to wait 40 seconds…
yay! However that will probably get nerfed in the next patch, it’s too overpowered.

“When an elementalist kills a rabbit, a champion risen is summoned that agros and has a 2500 range immobilize with 5s duration. 2s cooldown”

The changes that have been made are good for PvP, but makes the elementalist alot squishier in PvE. And when you switch your equipement to PVT the damage will be ~5% of what a warrior can deal by just pressing 2 and 3.

I’m talking about the changes made to ride the lightning and mist form. These changes don’t make sense for PvE content since the ele’s alrdy have it though in most dungeon’s to keep up with other classes DPS and survivabillity. Ranger pets got buffed by 40-50% but our elementals still die in 2 shots by most bosses. Also the consumable fire elemental (ember) is still far superior then any of our own (elite) elementals.

The buffs we received by buffing the signets aren’t even noticeable + 75% of our traits are still pretty much useless. Conjures are still weak and are very situational.

Reading the description of the elementalist brings a tear to my eye aswell. It says they can deliver powerfull attacks and can do devastating aoe attacks. A warrior still outshines the elementalist in AoE and in attacks in PvE.

Also I would like to take this chance to adress some of the pesky bugs that ele’s have since the launch of the game:

-Dragon’s tooth: Damage gets nullified when you get interrupted after the cast has finished.
- Phoenix: Dodge gets nullified when the vigor animation triggers and thus cancelling your dodge and it will not grant you the benefits from evasive arcana.

I hate submitted multiple bug reports since launch about these bugs, but patch after patch they still excist.

How about some PvE love for the elementalist ANet?

I know that we have an elementalist board but it seems that dev’s have abbandon it.

I like the mistform change, as well as the elixir S change for engies. The purpose of the skill is the same as it used to be — to avoid a burst by acting pre-emptively.

People were using mist form as a crutch where they would eat the burst then mist form + heal up to reset.

All in all, I think the mistform change encourages more skillful play.

Besides, you can still swap to water + EA roll to clear some conditions and get a moderate amount of healing.

True on the healing aspect but MF was fine before patch. Like I said before make it a pvp version to keep from screwing up for the PvEers and WvWvWers.

I’ve kept my ele @ the bank in LA as a bank toon. I wish Anet would just come right out and just tell people, “We made a mistake putting the ele in the game. Just delete them and roll a warrior.”

This is not a whine thread, I actualy agree with the nerfs to the elementalist class. Yes we were overpowered and still are at top level in 1vs1 combat. My problem atm is that the most joyful part of my Gaming experience has been taken from me. I love to solo roam, and take or defend a camp solo, fight with thiefs and mesmers who are on the map and even take a 2vs1 fight on. But with the new changes I am not able to run from a zerg. I have just been chased by about 6 people over half the map. from East camp to west, all along with me a freaking ranger bear pet keeping me in combat and a thief crippling me with his teleportation bow.
I do not understand the argumentation that the thief should be the most mobile class when they allready have stealth. they have the 2 best get away cards, while the only one we had has been taken from us.
Is solo roaming reserved for thiefs now?
Honestly nerf my healing, nerf my burning dmg and fire grab, nerf protection and condition removal, but pls do not take away a whole aspect of a game by not letting us choose the fights we want to pick.

Idk my ranger vs a good d/d ele was fun and equal. and they are not OP just has well mobility which was helping he/she to keep fighting. But the thief is pretty crazy with its major damage capability. Had one doing 13k damage in 1-3 seconds, talk about ragging.

Only reason I recently made a elementalist was for the Ride the lighting skill and mist from. Now the you fix RTL (understand that… don’t understand the 20 to 40 sec increase). Now you can’t heal in mist from when you are getting hammered. Currently at lvl 24 and that’s my stopping point cause of this nerf. Ele just not fun now. Guess I’ll just delete it. Good job on the other bug fixes.
