Btw, if you wanted decent ranged damage for PvP, use Fiery Great Sword, with 10 points into Fire traits, to increase the amount of charges on conjured weapons.

Otherwise we have really poor AA with anything else.

Yep, we were supposed to be versatile, but after all the nerfs, we ended up being in a very poor situation, where we have this versitility, supposedly, but its really weak so it doesn’t account for anything anymore.

There was a time when elementalist was versatile and good, and the strenght of the class was defined by player skill, but now at this point the class is extremely sub-par, and the player skill factor only helps you a bit, get up to par with other classes, even then – other classes do what an very skilled elemenentalist can, with little to no effort, while we have to be literally veteran players.

EDIT: I’ll just say this, a new elementalist player will get rolled by each and every class, PvP is not very enjoyable, so deal with PvE till 80.

Damage, survivability, cooldowns, effects, everything needs an overhaul.
Currently playing elementalist, i feel like this Jack of All trades, but not even novice in all.
You can do basically everything, but that everything is so sub-par and weak, that it doesnt even matter, because it makes no difference.
You would imagine that a class with long cooldowns, high animation, long delay and no mobility, would have some sick damage, but it doesn’t, there is no reward for being a elementalist currently, but thats the PvP aspect of the game.
In PvP we do not even do as much damage with our strongest nukes, as a thief can do with his auto attacks, so yeah.

Only problem is that all those stone skins, mist forms, ect have very lonw cooldown for something crucial, and with such low duration.

Doesnt make any sense, if toughness is the same as armor, why have it as two separate stats, because thats the way you explained it.

As i see, mainly comboes are with staff, with other weapons there are little to no combos.

He meant the utility skill.
Not sure how much it gives because numbers change higher you are level.

Its really annoying how people just scratch off elementalist as a viable class, sure its viable, its not perfect but its versatile, which is always good in my eyes, you can throw a heal here and there and do some pretty decent burst and aoe.

It probably has to do with using combo fields or something then, and i have literally no idea how that system works, i only learned that if you use on your Fire axe, the circle then leap, you get a fire shield, i assume there are additional effects to a lot of elementalist skills but i have no idea how they work :/

Yeah, i found this too, Ele auto attacks are like non-existant, would be nice if Anet would actually take time to rebalance the class in some aspects, like the actual spells, and damage ratio’s on the ele spells, maybe tweak cooldowns a bit as-well as some people mentioned, because most of our kits, deal negligible to no damage at all.

Crafting is character bound right? As in, if you have 500 craft in something, its not shared over all your characters on your account, or is it?

Is it me, or are the water spells really weak and useless? I mean we have like few healing water spells for each weapon, but the heal on them is almost non-existant.

Like for example healing yourself for 100 HP with the ice breath on dagger, while having 1400 hp?

Staff heals really low too, and in PvE its like, almost not even a difference if you try to heal, i mean, monsters do so much more than your pathetic heals even recover, or am i missing something?

The only downside i see as Ele, is the PvP being weak, PvE wise i love it, and most of the game is PvE till 80 anyways, then there is the daily PvP where i suffer a bit for a while xD

All of this sounds like spanish to me at this point but i guess i’ll try it, by the way is there any way to reset your traits later at 80? PvE ones, i know you can reset the PvP traits easily.

So i see there are all these guides on skill traits and all, but they are all for endgame level 80, while i have no idea and nobody is actually making a step-by-step guide to tell you which traits you should use for PvE while leveling, what would you guys suggest to get while yo uare going trough levels 10-50+, ect?

Nah i didn’t mean WvW, i was talking about Team PvP, been doing a few to get daily done and i’m really getting rolled as an Elementalist, haha

EDIT: I’ve also seen in a old youtube video mentioning about regeneration passive gotten in water atunement, for each roll/dodge you would regenerate some health, but i cant seem to find it, did they remove that? cause the pvp video was like 1 year old.

Is the elementalist really this bad in PvP, or am i just low level?
I know you get lv80 when you get into the battleground and you have pvp gear, but when i fight whoever, they just kill me much faster than i get them to 80% HP even, some people i’ve fought, i would deal damage to them and i would literally not scratch their HP at all, it wouldn’t even budge below 99%.

Is it really the class that bad, or is it me just being a nab?

I have no idea how each profession works, but i need to pick up some for dailies, which one is best suited for Elementalist and you can actually benefit from?

cause i mean, yeah sure you can be artificer and something, but are they actually useful?
Cause i’ve seen tons of games where crafting is just a waste of time and money, and they do not give any proficient gear that can compare to dropped one.

Is that the case here too?

Thread, how many points would you have by the end of the game, as in lv80, to be able to buy how many support spells?

If you want to play some ugly yoda like gnome (asura) then go for it. As others have pointed out, this race is dominant in PvP because it is harder to read its moves, it can take full sight cover behind smaller obstacles and it is harder to target thanks to GW’s dodgy targeting system.

Racial skills are worse in 99% of the cases by design because the designers explicitly wanted to prevent any race from being superior due to having a skill that surpasses the profession specific ones. So that should not really influence your decision.

To answer your question: Eles can only be played properly as human females (in T3 cultural armor).

What does being female have to do with anything? xD

The human heal racial and boon one seem pretty good, also sylvary healing seed looks good, are they actually used?

I really want to play Asura to be hoenst, cause they are cute and small <3 but i see their racials like really useless :/

Also heard norns have a good transform that gives stealth for WvW but i cant find it anymore, or was it removed?

I’ve been thinking of making an elementalist, but what would be a good race?
I have really no idea if the racials make that big of a difference anywhere, be it PvE or PvP, do they really matter?

Since i’ve been inclined on making an Asura, but their racials are not really that good, i saw humans have some heals or something, Norns have transforms and asuras have some golem pets, or something, how impactful are the racials?

I’ve been interested in asking, are there like mixed maps, combined where all the races level, or is the whole PvE content like distributed with maps for each race separately?

I mean, i’m current like level 14 Nord and i’ve been wondering when/if there will be a map where me and my Asura friend can level together?
Or do i just have to go to their version of the maps if we want to do same quests?
Is there at any point in time, at some level where we level on the same map?

So as question stats, which is the better EU server to start on?
Preffering EN speaking base and that the server be well populated, but there is quite a list of servers, so which one is actually better in this or that regard, or are they all the same?
