Is spread shot on the balista bugged?

Tried it a few times but don’t rly see any damage from it and doesn’t seem to go over 3k range just short infront of it, anyone else has this wvwvw perk and tried ity yet?

Nm, seems i managed to get it work, it’s just that because of the low shoot angle in certain positions it won’t shoot that far.

Imo they made the right call with this change, culling fix + and extra second reveal will give people a lot more time to react.

On top of that if they had gone through with the change as intended a lot of thief utilities and traits would become counterintuitive as to what they where supposed to do, and punish our only form of substain and make us even more predictable.

in 1v1 a thief that chains c&d is either a condi thief or a hybrid power as pure burst should never and can’t stick around long anyway duo to the way it’s build.

in 1v1 a thief using c&d like that is a lot easier to deal with as c&d is still a melee skill that eats half initiative and he has less targets to c&d on.

In bigger groups fight this still means thieves could chain a stealth to lay low and substain in the fight without having to retreat straight away.

Imo that is good as almost all other classes have forms of substain or ways to absorb/deal with damage through longer fights, so overall i’m glad they reverted that change.

How about actually making the defensive part of Bountiful Theft, ( Trickery VII ) a bit more usefull, each time i rip those 12 second protections or long stabilities i feel a bit depressed to see those boons only return to me for 3 seconds, which makes the defensive thought behind this rather lackluster.

I’m not gonna ask for a full duration steal or full stack steal on might and whatnot as that would make this rather broken how-ever it would be nice to actually utilize on the stolen boons rathen then it just being a plain strip with a really short return, perhaps upgrading it to 5-10 seconds would at least make the defensive side on these boon strips a bit more interesting.

No kidding the server today seems in a bad shape, skill delay, skills speeding up and slowing down, things being out of frame, i must say because of these things i’ve been dying more then usual ^^

Hope they fix that soon, as usually with these battles it’s not this bad as it has been today so far.

Upset =/= annoying

same as RNG happening doesn’t equal dying,

It’s just RNG that changes battles in directions that make no sense, and have no place and hyberboling emotional illogical counter examples won’t make it any less RNG.

( your examples aren’t RNG in the first place as they are circumstances you have control over)

Nor saying this hardly happens when there’s plenty people around in the area this will happen quite frequent.

As someone else noted it’s also fairly annoying on one’s own side when it interupts channeled abilities, simply makes no sense to have this in besides for the RNG lols, which i personally don’t find a good reason for messing up battles.

So as my suggestion said can you remove these effects while in combat, that would already prevent a lot of this type of RNG.

of xp bars lvling up creating an AoE pushback and full heal while people are in combat, there’s enough rng as it is, and while it can be amusing quite a bit i’m slowly getting annoyed myself by the rng it creates at times.

and feel this has no place in wvwvw no matter how amusing it can be.

If one of your Illusions does damage then i also want your mes to be revealed out of stealth, it’s the same logic you apply on choking gas and caltrops as both are indirect damage.

I posted this aswell in the wvwvw stealth change topic, but i guess since this the discussion place about it might aswell drop the post here.

In smaller fights and Spvp the revealed change won’t be that bad it will suck however in the bigger fights, as thieves don’t have the range other classes have, nor have the hp, tankyness, immunites or buffs the frontline have, so they now simply can go in once and run away, or stay and die, while before you could harrass in the backline, and chain a stealth to get that aggro off and go again.

Also if they do remove Mug in it’s current form they take a big part of the thief burst, while the burst perhaps could use a little damage nerf overall, removing a big part of the burst on a 36-45 sec cd, while mesmers engi wars etc can still spam for these amounts on aoe every 10 seconds at least is rather silly.

I thought the Devs would assume just culling fixing regarding stealth would be enough for now but seems they have given in to the Columba’s on the forum, enough people could and knew how to deal with it but instead they now choose that it’s not the enemy that has to deal with it but the thief simply has to decide to run now and not have any form of substain like other classes have.

Overall a bit dissapointing with these upcoming changes but let’s see how it is when it’s there.

I think AoA just like Blos and all other guild groups do fine doing their thing they communicate enough from my standing, maybe some people are still a bit bitter on AoA leaving before.

Either way i hardly see any point on complaining to people that put effort in and try their best for Fsp while having fun doing so.

Another minor thing that annoys me is that too often i get random obstructs on throwing out a dancing dagger when there is nothing obstructing it or when you’re even 2 steps behind the target rly annoying if you want to get that slow in and you see 2 attempts in a row obstruct trolled ^^

What is your stance on this?

Personally i think it’s a bit unbalanced to have 10+ golems appear out of the blue, or a keep being saved by supply from another border.

I’d rather see us have 4 supply tabs for each map one so supply doesn’t get lost yet prevents the abuse of supply carrying over even though it might be fun for the side doing this i feel it still is a bit too unbalanced to be possible.

That’s a visual bug that i think only happens for me if i shadowstep with stealth on, can be annoying if you don’t watch it i guess ^^

Another thing i noticed that i wonder wether intended or not is when you have the steal 2 boons trait equipped when stealing boons like protection and stability the steal duration is rly short, even when you steal over 10+ sec boons.

On another note one other minor annoyance of mine is that when i have a steal with a cast time and i swap weapon during it it cancels that action, same for induction utilities, again dunno if intended or not.

It’s a 60 sec cd for most as not everyone runs the deception trait, also refuge is a lot greater in risk then a gaurd popping stability any cc that pushes it out or enough dps is gonna make sure that res won’t get off and likely get the thief trying to res killed aswell.

It was pretty obvious just ago yea that some gunners ‘’ hold ’’some grudges against fsp

The golem rush just ago was called early already when we saw your commander party @ north camp so we had the idea what was gonna happen but not many of us are gonna stay up that late to counter your pvd, we rather fight during the day

Was fun nevertheless and well done on the golemrush but we maybe only had 10 people max on the map by the time you finnaly went for it

Just a question to all those omg a glassthief bursted me down in wvwvw while we where fighting in a zerg situation, how often does this type of thief actually get the stomp off in those situations with quickness maybe and then straight port out or die aswell, but it seems a lot of people here are forgetting that downed state is also part of the balance and the battle doesn’t end on a simple down in those situations.

Don’t wanna reread all atm, but is it just me or when you use a skill like shadowstep early on a knockdown or pull, it somehow ignores your called position to step too since appearently there’s a frame where it doesn’t recognise your position and just go on cd below your position instead making this rather frustrating to die when you react to fast with it on such stuff.

The difference between the nights before in prime was that we had our keeps upgraded while you had yours tiered down in your borders, you got a taste of your own medicine, as for teaming up Millers went in with 4 omega golems @ the start of prime in our borders and had Bay attacked loads of attempts with lots of siege (about 30 of em), on the other side we had 20 or so of you of Gunners hitting hills and dawns, while we managed to hold out for a long time as soon as your zerg also got over 30 and started heavy sieges including golem rushes we sadly starting losing some, and this while we only had a small guild group early in prime on our borders and after that mostly pugs being led by some commanders, so all in all i’d say we did a pretty good job on our border despite the odds heavily in our disadvantage, and probably getting the most resistance awell there compared to the other borders, as the home border when active on both sides will always get double teamed so to say

Xoac for GH currently might still be great and fun for now but as soon as tiers balance out and Xoac will carry the points for GH to a higher tier where their primeforce will have trouble fighting the numbers of that tier, they will likely have less fun during that time then those that play in the morning , while we will be balanced in a tier where there’s less offpeak powerhouses, so overall i assume we in the end will have more fun once things balance out compared to GH , but ofc this is all assumption and for now the matchup currently is still relative balanced despite an offpeak powerhouse shifting things to their favour ^^

Must have taken you guys at least 30mins 4-5 trebs loads of cata’s and a bunch of rams before you finnaly took Briar back against the few of us on GH border, was amusing but eventually you got it, held it much longer then expected with the numbers you had ^^

Same here on Far Shiverpeaks in wvwvw, animations showing are behind a little of what’s actually happening and damage skills delay and speed up out of the blue at times, which makes playing rather annoying when you try to hit a target that is where it shows for you but in reality is 1-2 steps nearby.

Didn’t have any issue’s before outside the random dolyak rubberbanding out of animation and being ahead of it sometimes.

No issue’s with other games currently, and had no issue;’ with gw2 before so i assume something on Anet’s side changed on the servers that caused this, makes playing rather annoying and not worth it for me as it currently is.

The issue is also appearent no matter the seize of the battle wether big or small it just seems the server laggs behind on data and speeds it up again, to many hiccups in it.

That last example is wrong using shadowstep after refuge goes down will break stealth again. so you don’t have 10s stealth after you use a step.

What does work is using shadowstep dropping refuge then porting back after refuge goes down that doesn’t break stealth, the other example does.

Fun matchups imo these last weeks against UW RoF Dzag and now FR, enough bigger battles and enough smaller battles not many blowouts either, will probably take some time till GH and RoS have passed before we have these matchups again and see what the closure of the transfers creates on other servers around our tiers.

The only abuse in this vid is the bad AI going in numb mode for most of the fight, seen that happen more often and obviously makes killing the lord a lot easier though i doubt they intended that ^^

Is there some secret Anti-Thief syndicate out there?

When i keep seeing the same people in all subforums complain about thief over and over i feel they’ve spend more time here complaining when they could have been adapting or learning, infact i’ve already seen so many people give enough ways of how to deal with them but rather they make their 100th post filled with incorrect info about these magical thieves.

Nice to see positive feedback on this,

As for what objectives to set for it i guess keeping those suggestions coming in is a solid base to start from.
For the daily i’d say to keep those fairly casual, maybe for the monthly have a harder achievement in it like flipping stonemist once or so.

And yea it would add another way to get some badges along the way to play wvwvw which a lot of people feel has a slow gain to it.

And most of the time it somehow are the german servers that do this from my experience, which is a bit weird to me, i expected other nationalities to do it more then Germans ^^

It’s a shame we barely have any numbers these days the numbers of deserters on fsp is still increasing, i hope Vabbi is rdy for us

The Pugtrains led by dedicated commanders still go strong from time to time though

Same for the few guilds that still stick around, much credit for those.

Dunno if these have been listed yet but these are some that come to mind for me and annoy me.

-disabling shot keeping you in static place sometimes instead of leaping back when a target is close.

-lots of places where ports are bugged because of terrain issue’s.

-steal bugging out in the water if we have a skill stolen that can’t be used in the water.

-steal skills that have a cast time getting interupted if you weapon swap.

-porting back being interupted even though it’s instant and losing your port back location being stuck in the place, either make this intented or not based on luck/rng.
