Overall the event exceeded a lot of my expectations, which wasn’t so hard considering I wasn’t sure what to expect. I liked that it came in phases; it gave a sense of progression and story. The game play was great. There was always a lot to do.
I thought, however, that the rewards were lackluster. I was really disappointed to find that most of the cool and useful event souvenirs were out of the reach of most people due to either lack of time or money (in game or otherwise).
1) The mad Kings Memories book was pretty cool, at first, until I realized that I had a large book awkwardly pasted on my back. Cannot un-see. Hopefully the next event will have a back piece that doesn’t look like I have a growth coming out of my backside.
2) The Mad Kings exotics should have had a custom skin… the rune that comes in them is rather meh. I have no reason to keep the boots once I find/craft something better. As a reward for completing the Mad Kings Clock Tower I thought given the above, the Mad Kings Slippers Fell short as a reward.
3) The BLC gambling skins was a very bad idea. I bought a set of BLKs before I knew the drop rate was so low and that’s a purchase I now regret. If I had known the drop rate was so low, I would have bought the set of mini’s instead. Worst of all, for Anet, it’s made me re-think whether or not I will put real money into future events. I want to put money into the events, so Anet can bring some more cool things to me in the future, but there needs to be more that can either be ground for or purchased directly.
At least The Crossing, Arachnophobia, and The Mad Moon are doable given enough time.

I have rather enjoyed the event. My game play experience has been fantastic so far. OMG, I want to take all of those adorable trick-or-treaters home with me melts

It’s not like the skins are the only content that was released…
And I thoroughly enjoyed the other content and am not complaining about it. But, instead of saying “oh well” to the things I didn’t like, I would rather try to provide Arenanet with feedback so my overall experience in the future is better, and in return Arenanet gets more of my money. Win-win.
After spending thousands of euros in casino I asked where is my jackpot, wtf is with low win chance?
…they threw me out!
This is why I don’t go to casinos, I don’t support the casino mentality. I want to however support Arenanet, I want to feel like it’s worth my money to buy Black Lion Keys. But if the casino mentality is the course that Arenanet is going to take with event souvenirs then they can count me out when it comes to spending real money on events in the future.

For me it has to do more with the fact that they already have the crazy rare skins…. they are called LEGENDARIES. With those at least in the end you have something to show for it. Halloween is supposed to be a fun side event, which only lasts for a week a year, and after spending a week farming for the skins/items, and dropping money on Black Lion Keys (because as it was pointed out, this game is free and I made a conscious decision to support the developers), I have NOTHING to show for it except six stacks of candy corn and a bunch of all but useless tonics.
All of the special skins/weapons in my opinion should have been given out in a way similar to the Mad Kings Clock Tower. It was extremely fun, wonderfully hard, and after a few hours of working at it, you get a guaranteed special reward. Nothing handed to you, you still have to work for it, but at least you have something to show for it in the end.

I support leaving the clock tower as is. It was incredibly frustrating but, at the same time, incredibly fun. I haven’t done many jumping puzzles but this was my favorite. Though I wouldn’t have minded the norn and charr being shrunk to mid-size… I fell so many times because a norn or charr would jump on top of my toon and I couldn’t see where I was >.<

Yes, I am experiencing the same issue

I could have sworn that in The Ghosts of Ascalon I read that she was a Legionnaire, however in the Crusader Arevir Soulhammer skill challenge the correct answer is
Tribune. Which is official lore?

I actually don’t know if this is a bug but it seems to be. The blue skins for both the shield and the sword from this vender are unique, while the green skins seem to be generic. Shouldn’t this be the other way around since green items are masterwork? The following screens demonstrate what I am seeing. Thanks!

I have noticed the same thing. Whenever I gather the materials I am using the correct tool, but when I see other people gathering they are using the pick for wood and axes for mining.
