what kind of nerf do u want? if u nerf it too hard no one will use traps again

i dont need to proof u what anet minds , there is just no real 1 vs 1 content that is created by anet so a balance around 1 vs 1 would be stupid as it would also have an effect on other situations like pve oder conquest pvp. they can make a 1 vs 1 balance if they add a duel content but only if the changes for that only affect that content. gimme a reason why anet should be putting 1vs1 balance above group balance ?
IMO balance is not the theoretical possibility to kill any other build but to have a fair chance with ur build vs most other builds if they r played by a decent player. maybe i got to add that build is for me not just trait but also equip,utility,runes,sigils in wvw also food so there is still room for useless builds.
and yes ur right i dont need a button to switch my build if i had a chance with my build vs all other builds. but as u have admitted urself there is no current balance so i want a button to seitch my build or maybe even class pre fight.
oh and for the camps i took over 9k camps alot with ppl inside but compare a camp circle size to a pvp circle size ( not just the middle one in foefire ) that circle size has a huge effect on how u can play there. in pvp u can cover the small circles very easy with some aoe – not in a camp also the npcs in a camp have a huge impact on the outcome of the fight.

i tried trap thief / ghost thief or what ever today too.
if u stay on map a while, ppl adapt really quick, they get more condi removes for example
also for me they placed like 10 stealth disrupter traps within 2h tho mostly in my field of view so that i could prepare shadow trap , trigger their trap and port away 10k range.
if i want to kill my oponent i prefer power builds in wvw coz even with full offensive s/p build u kill most ppl in wvw – and that really quick. but ghost thief is a really fun troll build many ppl stand still in caltrops even without immobilize. ofc against some ppl without condi remove its just op – SOME of rangers ,eles ,mesmer or war ..other classes i faced had all enough condi remove to get away. and if u keep moving while changing ur direction randomly its IMO hard to place a trap in the way.
btw eles trait to be immune vs condis above 90% is really annoying for ghost thief
for a true 1 vs 1 balance everyone would have same traits and same weapons. take a ghost thief vs power shatter mesmer. a 1 vs 1 balance IMO is when every build has a fair chance vs every other. or i want a button for build + equip change at least while out of combat so when i see an enemy aproaching i can flip my build according to his class/weapons/buffood/ previous fights ( n still this would just end up in mindgaming and not 1 vs 1 balance )
i also dont get why ur fighting ‘on points’ in wvw ..ofc in them circles of lordrooms u might do so but thats mostly after the real fights when then attacking team won or previous to fights when the defending once come late.
Using the just convert/remove the boons argument is irrelevant, not every profession has this kind of skill access.
so ur talking about 1vs1 (this game is and will never be balanced 1 vs 1) ? coz else its a setup problem i cant for example demand a group of 30 thieves to kill every 30 man group in wvw or even have a decent chance.
also stability was too strong before they changed it – now ppl in wvw stand a long time of the fight on max range and spamm the space in between em coz there r too many CC’s (VERY dynamic fight) I actually dont see a problem in a warrior with perma quickness siting 2k units away in the grass staring at me and dying once he tries to get close. IMO current state of Stability Vs. CC is a larger problem then Quickness when it comes to team fights.
or just wen converting boons to conditions keep em stacks: 1 min quickness to 1 min slow – have fun
there is a already a stack limit on buffs
every player using stealth is being hated kinda since launch coz most ppl dont seem to enjoy fighting vs stealthed players. now nerfing stealth will IMO only hit thieves – mesmers will get tons of invuln with HoT. PLS go to thief forums alot of thieves complain about thief now being a +1&decap class in pvp and UNABLE to 1 vs 1 even skilled player that is not a mesmer/thief ( who have access to stealth). Many ppl in thief forums think its oke coz its not thiefs role to 1 vs 1 but now if u also want to remove or totally destroy stealth the only thing that is going to happen: ‘Oh a thief! are u going to suicide or do i have to put out an evil look?’
i’d prefer a skill like ‘Come here Baby’: – Shadowstep ur Target to ur position.
with that skill thief could get a target out of AoEs that would kill him , if target gets only shadowstepped (not pulled) its not a cc so u could get out ppl with stability – that would be a fitting mechanic for an assassin IMO.
and to shortbow:
just rework shortbow 5 or remove the weapon and then balance the thief again would create some more options in how the thief could be played as some ppl seem to like decap&+1 , while other want to be an assassin.

Question is already in the title, i didnt test it but that question kinda came to my mind as i saw ppl discussing if alacrity has effect on runes and sigils.
IMO it’d be pretty strong if u can reset rune cd with it, that way u could for example get up to 16 stacks confusion from perplexity rune in wvw within few seconds.
oh well i found the mistake in alphas math he said base cd / 1,66 = 0,4 x base cd.
but 1/1.66 ~ 0,6
the extra second is only wasted if u dont use it instantly again
so with well of recall and improved alacrity u already got perm alacrity .. u just need to shatter at least 2 illusions / 12s
4 Wells With Recall (11-13s Alacrity)
Untraited: 0.66 * 11 = 7.333
Traited: 0.66 * 13 = 8.667
Untraited “Gained” Cooldown = 7.33 seconds
Traited “Gained” Cooldown = 8.67 seconds
New Untraited Cooldown Time = 20 – 7.33 = 12.67 seconds
New Traited Cooldown Time = 20 – 8.67 = 11.33 seconds
if u need to wait 13s to get the cd to 11,33s then the actual cd is in between 13s and 11,33s. or do i get that math wrong ?
edit: with alphas math its 8s coz 20×0,4 ..so one of u guys is wrong ?

You guys are defending it for now because you only see it in a small scale scenario but when this goes on the big scale of professional guild comps. You’ll be crying so loud the words I told you so wont even be heard because of your noise.
well if there is a guild running 20-30 rev ‘professionally’ then another guild will run 20-30 chronomancer to perma stealth and then burst em apart in a blink of an eye.
if a 30 man zerg has let say 7-8 rev and they port that way from other side of the map into the enemy group – i have no clue why u would call it professional.
as phase traversal has a casttime u still wont use it while cc’d like the other teleport skills it was compared to in this post.
no but its thief, let em poor souls have something they r superior in (+ it doesnt require a target)
it is also slow line aoe , a melee enemy walking around u wont get hit by CoR , while it will get hit by MB.
u say its too strong to hit 10k on squishys ..u need to be squishy urself to do so and a squishy thief/mesmer can bust higher + out of stealth.
or take killshot for example a ranged skill with rather low cd , u can make it 100% crit and a few more improvements, it will hit more then 10k on squishy targets + u cant just walk out of the dmg – u have to dogge ( reflect wont work if war uses signet of might).
if u increase the energy cost and or put a cd on it then please make it ground targetet, instant and stunbreak like shadow step from thief. u can use it only offensive or need adds – revenant has pretty bad defensive mobility if he has no enemy on range to target.
i also killed a lot ppl chasing em with that skill, but those did not fight back and just tried running faster – i had very hard time if they suddenly stopped and attacked me.

No class has a teleport greater than 1200, neither will Revenant. 2/10 thread does not need buff.
thief has 10k range port with shadow trap – i rarely use it full range coz u mostly get stuck somewhere trying, but i often use it like 2k range+.
if there is the need for a tank to distract or to take some unevadable dmg while others do dmg then i think reaper might be a high dmg option for this role, even better if we get a new stat combo with cavalier stats but power as main attribute. because reaper dont need precision with that new trait decimate defenses.
else they need to change reaper in pve only.
@Petrol it is only 8s projectile absorb with poison cloud but still reflect > absorb so either there r not many projectiles then its not worth running reaper for it or if u got alot projectiles a class with more reflects mesmer/guard is better.

apart from some improvable gameplay, i wonder if most of ur opponents fight that ‘good’. i think none of em removed the imibolize so they all got hit by dragons tooth + phoenix (oke not those guards coz u failed ur earth signet by using it as they still had their aegis up) . If u play a freshair build and ur opponents gets hit by thoses 2 skills ..they are most probably dead. so if the majority of ur opponents fight that way u might try a fresh air build
most roaming vids simply show only fights they won, so if a person only wins in his vid against real bad opponents, then one might think the videomaker lost every fight against ppl that were slightly better than the ones in ur vid…
IMO to give u a feedback it would be great to see fights u have lost in order to see weaknesses of that build or ur gameplay, coz in ur vids u do some mistakes but ur opponents do a lot more.
btw i think u dont use icebow in ur vids..if they stay in ur dragonstooth i bet while they r immobilized u can even cast icebow 5 on them. and skill 4 provides a lot of bleeding + skill 3 for chill
i got that on my guard like 5 times today..never had that befor. it happend to me while fighting , just running or even while afk 2 mins .. hope they fix this soon
as a main thief im sure a good thief wont loose any 1 vs 1 if he doesnt fail.
but i also know that ~99% of thieves can be killed easily just because their lack of skill.
according to my experience the best way to kill a thief is suprise him and make him fail

so it was my fault
but i mean every guild chasing one will have a reason for it. for us as i said it was reset day and he was in the wrong third of the map

i am roaming too . and yes it sometimes happens that u get chased by an entire guild group. I got chased by HoB several times last week ..but its oke . if u cant escape with ur roam build u might have to change it.
and a hint for next time :
as u may know on reset day our supplys are very important to ugrade our towers/keep so : yes, we are chasing every single player trying to kill our dollyaks or cap. our supply camps.
