I don’t think he was talking about other races. He is specifically bringing up Charr issues but he also doesn’t deny that other races have issues too.

Let's talk about Range...

One older topic where the dev says: “Intended. All ranged and melee skills have a 15% buffer range to take account for tracking.”

I had access to the site until a day ago. Suddenly I can no longer access it. I also have Comcast. I’ll be following this thread in hopes someone more tech. savvy than I will lead me to a solution.

Cloth wearers need to use more cloth to make their armor, so it only fits they should get more from drops. Seems like a good change to me.

I like Force and Fire. Force for straight up 5% damage boost and fire for the extra AOE which Mesmers are lacking.

I run mostly solo and nearly always get the champ bag from world bosses.

On the other hand, I enjoy WvW but I despise dungeons and would never willingly choose to spend my time running them. Should A-net eliminate that aspect as well?

I’m 46. I also play with my 18 year old son. We play pve and wvw mostly, but he occasionally likes to do dungeons and I’m not really into those. And as someone above mentioned, he picks up on the game mechanics faster than I, but I make more money in the game and end up supplying him, haha.

I usually end up following him through jumping puzzles because I just can’t seem to remember the way, and he patiently waits on me to catch back up after I miss a jump or 2, lol.

Its all fun though!

I would use some of this right now.

One of the biggest things that strikes me from reading through all these posts / replies, is how little people actually read the blog and try to understand it. Many of the “concerns” have already been addressed. Go read the blog and read the dev. replies and you may see your concern already explained.

A few examples

You can right click a friend and automatically join them on the map they are on. Guild missions? Have your guild leader or mission organizer on your friends list. He / she goes to the map, right click and join. Not very hard.

A dev already mentioned guesting. I dont have the exact quote but basically he said that when joining a map, your home server OR GUESTED server will weigh into that map you get. So RP’ers that normally guest to TC can still guest to TC and join all the other RP’ers.

What will be the point of have precision?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: MachineManXX.9746

MachineManXX.9746

Precision will still be “crit chance”, same as it always has been. Ferocity will be the new “crit damage”, only calculated the same way as precision. So, instead of 10% crit damage on an item, you will get (totally made up number) say 100 Ferocity, which will calculate to 8% crit damage.

What is there to do in between events

I have hit the monsters tons of times and watched it give me split XP between myself my wife and a friend. Why am I seeing different then everyone seems to be telling me when I watch for things like that in all games. So I know if I can play with people I do not know or not. Its a MMO and thats just how they are no matter if it says it or not there is always a loop hole around it. I have watched it while I played and watched it while my wife played its happening so if its not suppose to then there needs to be a fix cause I sure as heck took my wifes loot and watch a split in XP more then tons of times. Anyway what I see and what others see has to do with people not caring about loot and XP and I do cause it matters to the character getting stronger and if someone else is getting it then I am not leveling or getting what I need for my character. I have seen myself get loot for my wifes class while she got loot for mine or others it makes no sense if its specific for us…if it was we would be getting loot for our class not someone elses. and if the mob was suppose to give us our own loot it would be the same for me as it would be for my wife and its not. never has been.

I now see the problem you THINK you are having. Say you are playing a heavy armor class and your wife is light. (example only) You loot a light armor chest piece. You now assume you “stole” your wifes loot.

Same thing in reverse. Your wife loots heavy armor boots and you assume she “stole” your loot. Am I correct so far?

What you fail to realize is that armor and weapon types that drop as loot are totally random. Sometimes you get something you can use, sometimes not. It was never meant specifically for you or your wife or anyone else for that matter.

Game shallowness caused by lack of teamwork

I’m anti-social. I’d love to be all social and in there and chatting all the time and stuff… but I’m just not that person. I’m in a guild of one and a half (that half being my kid, and she only plays to have fun, and doesn’t do any form of progression. She likes to bunny-hop around), although I did do a guild once or twice before, and they weren’t really my sort of people to play with.

Whenever I’ve gotten myself in a group (I tend to think this a mistake on my part), I start to panic somewhat, and don’t feel I can live up to any expectation I imagine the other players may have (admittedly when I’m on the ranger, I should think their expectations are low). I still try to succeed, because I, with all my anti-social ridiculousness, can believe in a greater good and working for it, even if that means in a group situation. I don’t want to let them down, I absolutely hate that idea, and that’s why I’d usually avoid it if I feel too nervous. As dumb as that may be. Sometimes I’ve got to force myself through this stuff – and yeah, if it goes well, I’ll feel better afterwards. Even though it’s just a game, I’ll take it as a win and even use it in RL if I have to.

I haven’t found any concept of guild I feel totally comfortable with, even if on some days I feel like “today could be the day! I could join a guild today and it will be a good fit!” I never get past just looking at a Guild Launch page, or an ages old server guild list. I also know I’m just too chaotic when it comes down to it, and sooner or later, cannot be relied upon. Even if I want to be approaching reliable, I’m just not. Something happens and I switch off.

Forcing me into having to play socially with others breaks my mind. Well… it doesn’t, not really, nothing quite so dramatic. But I do have to be feeling unnaturally confident to succeed. I know I can succeed, I’ve done it before, and I try to be open to ideas and new things, but I don’t like being forced into something. I’d rather decide for myself, not have a game or others do it for me. If what I decide happens to coincide with the game or others, then I’m sure it’s all good. But I don’t feel so bad if it doesn’t, and I will do something else instead. I am acutely aware of my limitations, and if something is trying to run counter to this, I just won’t do it (so a lot of jumping puzzles and things like SAB are out).

The best thing about this game is I don’t have to do things with other people if I don’t want to. There’s really nothing here like that. It’s only if I decide I’m focused on achievements, or ending the personal story, or doing marionettes, or whatever, that I have to co-operate. And yet I still decide if I want to do that or not. I’m not forced into anything unless I put myself in that position in the first place – and if I do put myself there, it’s with the foreknowledge of it involving others. I wouldn’t necessarily describe this as a social environment, however. With some of the backchat and nasty comments, it’s anything but. Sociopathic, maybe. It’s certainly not healthy.

If I miss something I find interesting (anything story or lore related for example), either due to time or “forced” constraints, I’ll look it up on the Wiki or similar. It may not be the same as experiencing it first hand, but frankly, I have a hard time reading/watching stuff first hand owing to the panic of doing stuff with other people who want it done yesterday anyway (dungeon story modes, I’m looking at you!).

And this is why I choose to play this game. If forced grouping (like 99% of other MMO’s) became the normal, then I’d move along to something else. One of the big draws of this game is NOT having to rely on others to do most of the content.

a well played ranger is godmode, sadly most people just dont care enough to play properly and play as they want.

lol god mode against what? ambient creatures?

You show your lack of understanding of what a good Ranger can do.

So a question to those of you who are asking for a gear change (celestial not withstanding). What exactly are you going to change into? If Zerker gear was highest DPS before, and as I understand it, it will still be highest DPS, what specifically do you want to change into?

This is a serious question. I’m having a hard time understanding the reasoning behind this request.

I had the same problem until recently. I just bought a Logitech G600 gaming mouse. It has 12 buttons on the side that I have bound to my weapons and skills.

It also has a third mouse button used as a “shift” key so you can shift click those 12 buttons for a whole new set of binds … More than enough options for GW2.

It took me a few hours of playing to get used to it, but now the muscle memory is building the clicks all come naturally. My game has improved ten fold.
