Sometimes when I click on a thread, it’ll start me at the bottom of a random page.

For instance, a minute or two ago I went to look at a thread about Eles, it had 4 pages, when I clicked on the thread it took me to the bottom of the 2nd page.

Not sure why, and it isnt a big thing, just letting you guys know.

I'm not good at Dodging.

Well, I’m going to try my luck here. I asked for some tips in-game and got nothing but a bunch of people calling me an idiot, telling me to press “V” and being trolls. I know /how/ to dodge, I just suck at the timing.

Any tips you guys can give me?
I think it is easier when you know the enemies really well, and know their timing, but going up against stuff I havent spent a long time killing, I never do it right.

Personally, I used Warband Support often. Going into any fight with more than a few mobs I’d pop it. I thought they were VERY useful, not only for dealing damage, but for taking damage away from me.

I’m actually enjoying the thief attack style, I’m currently using D/D but I’m having a few issues and I wanted to see if anyone can give me any tips or anything.

1. I seem to be running out of stamina often. I have the skill that when you roll it restores it, but it has a 60 second cool down.. which, to me, makes it slightly useless.

2. If I get more than two mobs on me, I go down quickly. Why? I constantly hear thief is an AWESOME solo class. What do?

3. Is glass cannon build good for Solo play? Or pure condition?

4. Any other tips/tricks are welcome.

Thank you

Thief Gameplay

Hey guys.
I was thinking about starting up a thief, as it is the only class I haven’t played, and was wondering if you guys would mind explaining the gameplay of them.
Maybe suggesting a build and what not too.
I love solo PvE, not a huge fan of WvW so dont worry about that.
I liked Glass cannon build for my Greatsword ranger.
I also do not like carrots being thrown at me.
Thanks, everyone

My biggest issue with pets is how they just seem to get such big jollies from fighting, that when I kill what I needed killed; they run a mile away to kill something else. Seriously, stay at my effing side unless I actually hit something.

I need some class help.

Guys, I need help picking a class.
Just some tips, from people who play the class. You know, builds and how different classes stack up.

I’m currently playing a Guardian, but I dislike that I die a lot, or do poor damage. I’d like to be able to deal some decent damage, while staying alive. I prefer solo work, and don’t mind being melee.

My favorite so far was Greatsword ranger, but I hated how the pets worked. Very glitchy at the time.

The only class I havent tried is Thief, and thats because I was told my a few friends they are extremely hard to control and very squishy.

Any tips or anything is welcome. Thanks, guys.

One of the main things about Guild Wars 2 is that they claim to have removed the “Holy Trinity” by allowing any class to become a healer, DPS, tank, or any hybrid they choose.

If that is true, why do we have classes that are CLEARLY aimed towards the Trinity?
Guardian, for example; They are obviously aimed for a healing class. DPS Guardians aren’t awesome. We dont hit like other classes. We have healing skills out the kitten though.

So, why exactly do they claim to have removed the Holy Trinity when there are classes still aimed directly for the Trinity?

I hate Waypoints. (constructive cristsism)

I don’t think you really dislike Waypoints, you just want mounts; and you figure if you complain about Waypoints you’ll have a better leg to stand on. There is nothing wrong with Waypoints. They’re a good way to travel for a low cost, anyone who complains about the cost needs to game better. My first 3 characters I never sold anything in the Trading Post, I just NPC’d all my crap, and I would always hit level 80 with around 5 Gold, even after buying swords here and there through the Trading Post.

Dynamic Events- To Rez or not To Rez

Majora.6028

Domxnik, I disagree. The time it takes to res a truely dead player is a lot of time. Now, if they are just “down” you have tons of time, but if they really die, it takes forever to heal them.

Also, this was suggested before. There is really no reward for healing, because it doesn’t count towards your gold reward.

Melee Suggestion

I just got done doing an event where you must smash posts in Molgrand to collapse a tunnel, and I encountered an issue.
Now, this may be me just doing something wrong, and if it is, please correct me.

When attempting to smash the posts, I spent the majority of my time swinging and trying to find a spot where I could hit the post. Everytime I would swing, it would miss. Even if I’m right in front of it, or in the middle of it, on either side. I finally found a spot that would allow me to hit it, but it was very precarious and difficult to stay in that one spot. At one point I even changed to my Staff, which sends out a wave of energy. (Note, this is a LARGE area of attack) and it still said “miss”.

My suggestion is make things like those posts easier to hit. In real life, it doesn’t matter where I hit it, if I’ve got a large kitten sword, I swing, and connect, it’s going down. I shouldn’t need to die 2 times trying to find the “sweet spot”

My asura ranger yells this a lot.

It’s a reference to “Searching for Bobby Fischer”

How about you watch your tone?
They created this game, so what if there are a few hard parts?
If you don’t have the capacity to get through them, tough kitten.
I absolutely love this game, and I look forward to difficult parts.
Ever play games like Legend of Zelda? kitten, puzzles are a HUGE part of the game, are you going to write Nintendo a letter about how kitten you are because you couldn’t solve something?

I really think people need to watch what they say to the Devs. They spent a lot of time and effort into this game. Hell, they’ve put more effort into one map then you’ve done in your life. Be respectful and thankful or go find another game to play, might I suggest Hello Kitty Online? That seems more your level.

I disagree with you.
I’ve got a ranger using a Greatsword, and yeah, I died, but not an excessive amount.
I was always able to complete my storyline easily.
The only one I had to call friends in to help me was to defeat Zhaitan.

Putting the poor grammar aside, I agree with a few of your points.

WvW is pretty much a “rush in and kill” type of system, but the issue with comparing GW2 to WoW, is that WoW still revolves around the “Holy Trinity” whereas GW2 does not. You can’t take out “healers” and win, because everyone and their pets(Literally) are healers.

PvE I disagree with you greatly. You don’t need a huge zerg to take down all the bosses and to complete events. I am more of a solo player to start with, I find it more relaxing, unless I’ve got a nice group of friends on Skype then we can go take on AC or whatever dungeon someone is out for at the moment.
Being a solo player, I can still complete most events and Bosses by myself. Even if it takes some time, the point is; it can be done. Strategy is a huge thing. Use NPCs to your advantage, if you’re near a town. Let other Mobs go after the boss too. Everything helps.

You complain a lot for nothing. As other people have stated, you’re playing wrong. This is my very first 3D MMORPG, and I died a little when I first started, but it’s about learning your class and how to play it. I have played many “Up close and personal” classes (Warrior, Gaurdian, ranger, and Necro) and I’ve died very little. You need to learn how to play your class and learn how to play it correctly. Stop whining about nothing and just play.

Arrows

I think this is just getting a bit picky.
They’ve got the animation of the arrow going through the wind, which, I think, is enough. That wouldn’t add anything to gameplay, in all honesty I focus on my combat, not trying to triangulate my arrows based on how far the bow is drawn back, the angle of fire, direction of wind, and wind speed. (Exaggeration, of course but it gets the point.)

Next you’ll have people wanting the sun to gleam at correct angles from their swords. It’s just a silly little thing that doesn’t need improving.

Ranger Bug List

Majora.6028

Not sure if this is a bug or intended to be like this, but it’s rather annoying;

If I’m on a platform slightly more elevated than the mob I’m using “swoop” on I end up not even hitting them. It seems the attack motion is swinging the sword at the end of the “swoop in” motion.

I think a better, and more realistic, way of doing this is to have the sword swing downwards as you fall, that way even if I’m above the mob, I bring the sword down with force and hit them.

Ranger reworkings.

I’m not too awful familiar with the game yet, only been playing for a few weeks and I’m only level 47, but I had a general idea to throw out that I was hoping to be put into the Ranger’s reworking.

I’ve become extremely fond of using Greatsword as a main weapon with a Shortbow as a backup, and I’ve got to say; There is certainly a lack of skills/traits to be affiliated with Greatsword. A lot of the traits focus on the bows, which I completely understand- Ranger is generally a ranged class, but why give them the ability to use the Greatsword if you don’t give them the ability to make a build around the sword itself?

Maybe bleeding a bit more during hits, or faster attacks. Just something a bit more.. helpful, I guess..
