I bought it and it’s installed today. It’s heaps better.
Example: W/ same settings as I had with the gtx 580 a fight with Jormag yielded 50-95ish fps. gtx was around 20-45 at best.
This is not at all unoticeable. Fighting large scale battles with supersampling on was just not a plausible option b4 ever.
Yay!
currently running win 8.1
i7 3770k 4.4ghz 8gb w/ gtx 580 1.5gb @ 1080p
if i swapped the gtx 580 with a r9 280x sapphire toxic 3gb what kind of performance bump in pve could would i attain just in gw2?
thanks,
Same. Even with a nice ssd drive. It’s annoying but not overwhelming for me.
It really seems most mmos have problems like this that just get ignored over time.
Are any components; i.e. Cpu, Gpu overclocked in your machine by chance?
Why would GW2 attempt to take memory to the point of OOM?
While in game I just click the ‘PrtScn’ key on the keyboard and it’s automatically jpg. From a Windows based machine.
Also, some 3rd party software will allow you to specify the format you wish prior to taking the actual screenshots.

Bugs are often terribly frustrating. But somehow we keep coming back!
If MMOs were any other business they’d be kinda sunk huh?
“If Guild Wars 2 were a commerical airline it’d stall on the runway twice and we’d consider it normal”
For the past two days the Join buttons in the LFG dungeon queues are greyed out for me. Stating ‘You have joined too many parties recently.’ I waited 10 mins. being solo and still this issue has persisted.
Has this been happening to others or am I causing this ?
Thanks!
Only sharing my experience:
Guild Wars 2 is fantastic at crashing my cpu if the OC is not stable; chiefly raising vcore.
Any chance you can slam some more vcore on ur 4.7 to see if that helps or even lowering either?
I use i7 3770k 4.5ghz vcore approx 1.35 with LLC Very High

Are there any updates for Windows 8.1 that are still pending for you?
I use 8.1 without a single hitch in GW2. My performance between win7 and 8 is negilible. I do enjoy 8.1 generally though as my current OS.
Note : I’ve listed my Dx report just incase you could somehow benefit from comparison purposes.
Attachments:
Can you run a 3dMark benchmark and list your score, and also what resolution are you at? Please also list your dxreport if you haven’t.
Just change Ratio to manual and then 43 or 45 for 4.5ghz then scroll down to CPU voltage and change to manual then enter in 1.2volts, then find Load Line Calibration and set that to VERY HIGH, and hit F10 and save changes and reboot.
Load Windows. Check Temps.
Note:
Every chip is different; your particular chip is usually good until 4.5ghz. Some are lucky. I need around 1.385 volts for mine at 4.5 which causes too much heat at full load with NH-D14 cooler
Driver Model: WDDM 1.2
I think this is your issue. You need to update to the correct drivers.
Please update to drivers 327.23 and try a modest overclock of 4.2ghz
I’m completely unsure if it’s possible or not. Maybe just some kind of bug.
I’m speaking from the limited information you listed and perhaps a bit off the cuff but
I’d just start the graphics card, the gtx 550 ti is very low end.
Now, you only need to worry about your power supply being able to handle your new video card. Which should be relatively simple process.
Try not to go any lower than a GTX 760 with 2GB+ or more.
Keep in mind that upgrading your cpu would help too but it’s not explicitly necessary.
You’re in luck the LFG tool is coming in 5 days on the 17th of this month
For now you can use Http://www.GW2LFG.com with the rest of us, it’s a little laggy but works.
Does the tearing persist when you use your monitors default resolution and refresh rate?
Also, have you tried any ‘windowed full screen modes’ with vertical sync on and off to see if that has any beneficial effects?
Please update to the latest drivers for your specific graphics processor.
Please list more information about the machine in question.
Operating System, motherboard, cpu and cpu frequency etc. All that good stuff ?
Escape, Options, Graphic Options,
Character Model Limit : Low
Character Model Quality: Highest <, more important
There is no basis for your nonsensical request for any overhauling of their client. I mean really?
I certainly frequent the heavy populated areas and in game events and never crash due to this “memory conundrum” you’re having.
Is there anyone else having this issue ?
Blah. Blah. Blah.
The video is specific to the processor you currently have. My only point I was trying to convey is how ineffective the 1100t was in comparison to another chip that was released in the same year; that is currently still powerful enough to run 780’s in SLI.
I suspect if you were able to OC the eleven hundred t your cpu useage should be increased.
(edited by Maze.3825)
OP,
Below is a link showing some architectural limits specific to gaming with the 1100t processor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUkvhOhrDVk
Please be advised that even in August 2013 the i5 processor here still would not bottleneck even SLI 780.
The only other suggestion I can think of is to perhaps have you play at 1024×768.
P.S. I have an ivy bridge i7 at 4.2-4.5 (depending on ambient temp) and even though our game engine ( me no programmer) is not perfect, my gpu utilization is mostly strikingly high at 99%. I only have a measly gtx 580 instead of your beastly 770gtx. And turning down settings in game should help. If not, again, that’s indicative of serious bottleneck, which has already been mentioned ad infinitum.
Good luck mate.
I can’t even fathom how your i5 2500K can handle that kind of GPU power. Maybe there’s a bottleneck?
Just because you think it seems true doesn’t mean jack (####) Pfft
I’m sorry. Are you saying you can never achieve 99% gpu utilization with your AMD cpu and new 770gtx in GW2 ?
For now, ignore your CPU ’s and install something like MSI afterburner and add the onscreen displays for GPU utilization FPS, and perhaps Temperature. Then head into game and see how often (if it does) dip below 99 gpu utilization
Have you tried updating your video drivers from 311.06 > 320.49 or even the latest beta which would be 326.41 ?
http://www.geforce.com/drivers
Please make sure you install the correct version; I think you require 32 bit ?

What is your resolution and exact video card? 7850, 7870?
ANET fixed the loading time issues.
Thank YOU
Anet so advanced rendered SSD technology useless !!
Hello A-NET, do you copy? Yet?
SolarNova.1052
When on a tight budget an SSD is a big no no. Its just a drain on ur wallet. the money spent on an SSD would be much better spent ,with a budget like this, on a better GPU or CPU.Spend money on things that give a high performance boosts 1st.
man i kindly disagree with this.
a faster cpu would make your pc better only in certain situation, a better gpu will make your pc faster in even less situation, beside gaming.
i’m pretty sure that if you build a pc you don’t want to use it only for gw2 and an ssd is by far the best upgrade you can make on a pc, boot time is way shorter, programs starts b4 u realize u made the 2 click!
think of it, anything that is saved on a disk needs to be put in ram memory to beused.
sure, ram is dam fast memory, but the bottleneks is the hdd in this case (ram speed is to be considered also when comunicating withthe cpu).
when you open gw and load a map (i guess!!!!!!) is loaded into ram, so the total max speed achivable is your hdd speed.
an ssd in general would make a loading screen like 5 time faster (for offline games i guess), even tho is true that network has a role for mmo.
ssd are dam cheap compared to 2-5 years ago, and have different ranges and models.
for 200$ you get 5x better performance (hdd average 100MB/s ssd 500MB/s) 80% of the time you use a pc.
no compare this to an upgrade from latest i5 to latest i7 “extreme”, 250$ to 1k$ and i’m not sure you get that multiplier even in benchmarks!
I like this, good points 4 sure. If the consumer isn’t just going for GAMING then this is some sound advice. I like the other point earlier in thread as well just depends on what the consumer wants.
64bit will use 32bit programs as well, as most programs are 32bit, you should be fine
These settings I have to use in the new Crown Pavilion zone to have any chance of decent play. Specifically LOD distance, Reflections, Shadows and finally the new ‘Effect LOD’ checked.
However, outside of this new zone I can raise Shadows to high and LOD to Ultra I would keep reflections the same and I would disregard the Effect LOD.
I hope this helps you some.
Windows 8 64
i7 3770k 4.2Ghz GTX 580 1.5
Have you ever tried overclocking your CPU to at least 4.2- 4.5 Ghz to see if that helps ?
(edited by Maze.3825)
ArenaNet,
Please stop trolling us with average suggestions like:
“Repair”
“Or make sure there are no potato chip crumbs on your keyboard” and at least acknowledge the loading times have been altered and are unacceptable. TIA.
Will you ArenaNet please inform your community that this is an issue being looked into at least?
For some of us this is like buying a new car and one wheel is an invisible square shape!
My car moves but kitten that is bumpy; i.e. 99% of all players experience since Queens Jubilee.
Same here. Even with a decent SSD 550/mb this game is @ “mach turtle” while zoning.
MMOs are great but their engines are so fickle or just worse than that. Ahem. Even “new” ones.
What is your current resolution size you use in wvw and what is your i7 3820 cpu frequency set at ?
Also, are you current on all updates and drivers for your system and hardware i.e. GTX 590?
