Auto learn? how does that work? Who said nothing is wrong? how can I be level 0 and not have but one ingredient show up in my discovery pane? I cant even put in copper ore and tin…the simplest thing to make.

On the left column of the crafting window is 4 icons. The second one down is a hammer – this opens the Production window.

In the Production window on the left next to icon column is the list of known recipes. You will find the recipe for mixing copper and tin already here, since it unlocks automatically when you spoke to the NPC trainer to start learning the craft.

By “autolearned”, I was referring to recipes that simply appear in your list of known recipes when you are high enough to make them. You cannot ever make those recipes in the discovery tab, because you automatically know them.

Mining Iron Ores Underwater: Character stops at 3 ores

You do know that WvW can give gathering bonuses, that allow you extra gathers at nodes? http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Power_of_the_Mists

In general, you only get one “go” at the node, which can give 3-4 of the item. If that WvW bonus procs, you get an extra go at the node.

You can also leave the node before you’ve actually finished it – and then go back to get the rest of what you would have had if you’d stayed there for the full gather. Lag may cause you to think it’s done and leave early.

Rich nodes give 4 goes at the node, for 3-4 items each go. Again, gathering bonus can trigger an extra go at those too.

[BUG] Lifetime Survivor Achievement

Even on characters that haven’t died at all, ever, show lifetime survivor at 0/200k. It is bugged.

My elite skill activates by itself

You can change the auto-cast skill by hitting “CTRL-right click” on the skill. I suspect you’ve accidently done so on the Elite.

To set it back to your #1 skill, hold the CTRL key down and right-click your #1 skill.

Your current auto-cast skill is shown by gold arrows surrounding the skill icon.

Cannot sell to vendor on 1 toon

What is in your inventory to sell? Pull up the inventory window (you can have both the vendor and the inventory window side-by-side) to check.

Karma-bought items generally can’t be sold to the vendor, and the vendor window will only list sellable items in your bags. If the bag doesn’t have anything sellable, it’ll stay closed like in your screenshot at the Vendor.

I strongly think it is a bug. I quickly leveled to 150 in jewelry, but I can’t even get to 50 in tailoring because there are only about 3 ingredients that will appear in my discovery pane, even though I have every available Tailor ingredient for my level. Ingredients like “Tiny Claw,” which are rated “Tailor (25)” will not appear in my discovery window even though I am a level 41 tailor and I have not discovered anything using “Tiny Claw.”

Seriously, something is wrong.

Nothing is wrong – these are not used for discoverable recipes.

  • Tiny Claw is used in the Precise insignia recipe – which is auto-learned. It’s in the Production window at level 25.
  • The Precise insignia, when made, will show up in the discovery window.
  • You combine the insignia with two components that are made from armor parts recipes that are ALSO auto-learned and listed in the Production window.

e.g. You have in Production:

  • Bolts of Jute (auto-learned at level 0)
  • Stretched Rawhide Leather Squares (auto-learned at level 0)
  • Jute Tunic Panel (auto-learned at level 0) – uses 4 Bolts of Jute, 1 Stretched Rawhide Leather Square, and 3 Jute Thread (thread purchased from the crafting trainer)
  • Jute Tunic Lining (auto-learned at level 0) – uses 1 Bolt of Jute
  • Precise Jute Insignia (auto-learned at level 25) – uses 1 Bolt of Jute and 3 Tiny Claws

The Jute Tunic Panel, Jute Tunic Lining, and Precise Jute Insignia combine in the Discovery Panel to learn the recipe to create a Precise Embroidered Coat (blue quality, level 15 to wear). The tiny claws themselves are NOT used in discovery – they’re used to make components that are then used in discovery instead. (Note that there are other insignias that are autolearned at level 0 – you don’t have to wait for claws at 25 to create armor).

Tailoring, Leatherworking, Armorsmithing, Huntsman, Weaponsmith, and Artificer all work in this way. Jewelery crafting is a little more complex, Cooking more complex again. Cooking has a lot more recipes that are karma-bought and has a lot more 4-item recipes and “make this to make that to make the other thing” recipes. That said, ALL rare/exotic level insignias for the 3 armor and 3 weapon crafts are ALSO karma-bought.

I seem to have the same problem. I am currently at level 0 for armorsmith crafting and I have tons of crafting matrls, I have tried to put the basic copper ore and tin to make xyz and neither will show up in the pane, They are both in my inventory and I have extra slots. I cant believe this big of a problem exists…basically I cannot craft ANYTHING. I have even tried a different craft and I have the same problem.

Have a look in the next panel down – “Production” – and create some of the armor components. The process described for Tailoring above is identical to the process for Armorsmith except you’ll use bronze instead of leather – create an insignia and 2 armor components, and use those in the discovery panel.

Edit: For everyone – once you’ve discovered a recipe, it is permanently available in the Production window – you won’t be able to recreate that exact recipe in the Discoverable window a second time (though you can craft multiples in the “congratulations you’ve created an XXX” popup that is shown when you first discover the recipe).

Iron Marches: Hellion Forest Task, Defeat Bria Event [Merged]

Issues in this map on Jade Quarry:

  • Dynamic Event in the house at Hellion Forest to kill Bria – all 4 doors of the house are sealed shut so you can’t access the inside of the house at all. Impossible to complete because Bria is invulnerable through the wall (since she can’t reach you because she’s locked into the house and you’re locked out).
  • Heart at Hellion Forest – disembodied spirits get stuck and won’t move towards their bodies. Have to drag other mobs over to the spirits to kill them to get them to reset.
  • Heart at between Sunken Hall/Harvester’s Glade: Hounds are stuck, won’t return to their cages, so you can’t release them. Suspicious bushes/trees are not being marked/unable to be interacted with. You can use aoe on the suspicious trees to kill the enemies though regardless of the dogs – on the death of the first enemy the second (and third if there is one) enemy will finally drop out of the tree so you can actually target it. Ranger traps were useful (necro marks would work too) as you could lay them there and wait for the respawn – when they were triggered it was time to aoe.
  • “Raid the Separatist Camp” is stuck, with 2 NPCs in the cavern below and no enemies/anything you can interact with down there.
  • Skill point north of Lamprey Grottos – Zzzig is not in the cavern when you get there, even though his event is active. He keeps complaining in local chat about being sleepy – I suspect he’s glitched under the floor/into the wall and is finding that there’s not enough oxygen in the rock for him to breathe.

You’ve got no attunement selected. I assume you were in an altered form when you started the instance?

Select an attunement, and your skills should all come back – happened to me during the betas when I died in pig form.

I received a strange email from ArenaNet, what should I do?

What that email means, is that someone in China:

  • knows your GW2 account name
  • knows your GW2 account password
  • tried to log into your GW2 account to steal it.

That request for authorization by email from ArenaNet is the only reason your account isn’t already stolen – and depending on what your email login is, it may actually have given them enough information to log into your email account to authorize their theft using the links in that email (if your email password was the same as your GW2 password).

Change your GW2 password to something you’ve never used anywhere before immediately. If you used the same password on your email account itself, also change your email password immediately. Don’t make these the same password when you change them!

Consider changing your password on EVERY site where you have previously used THAT username with THAT password, as every single one of them are now compromised.

'Buff' Utilities forcing auto-attack

Same thing happens with the Ranger Warhorn buff skill (5) – it triggers autoattack, and makes the pet run randomly at whatever enemy was nearby.

Which when you were using it as a speed boost to just run to another place is less than useful.

Should titles be more noticeable?

Titles in GW2 are cosmetic … Not being able to really show them kinda misses the point for a cosmetic item.

I miss the way they were displayed under your name in GW1. By all means make the display of titles under character names an option…but please do provide a display. Under the health bar when selected only is actually really disappointing.

Pets and a Lack of F2 Responsiveness

I wish the pets were something we could chose to not use. Their overall ineffectiveness and constant micro-management are a burden. I wish they were a Trait we would spec into, similar to GW1.

the option is there >.< just stow the pet! thats why they added it like in bwe3.

Pet pops back out the moment you take damage/enter fighting stance. Stow Pet is only useful for things like jumping puzzles, where the combination of the pet and camera issues mean you simply can’t see.

Rangers! Tell us how you play

Weapons: Longbow + Axe/Warhorn
Land Pets: Jungle Spider + Devourer
Underwater Pets: Blue/Rainbow Jellyfish – swap on cooldown then hit F1 followed by F2 for their ability – if they start the fight with F2 it’ll usually go off, but it won’t activate reliably if they’re already fighting. F1 first because otherwise they don’t hit your target with F2, they just useless spin off in a random direction – which underwater tends to grab a whole lot more agro than you wanted.

Land utilities: Flame Trap, Frost Trap, either Spike Trap or Poison Trap
Underwater utilities: Signets (can’t remember which) – more for their passives than anything else.

Elite: Rampage as One, but not really set on it yet. More for the speed boost moving between places while the warhorn is on cooldown than anything else.

Stats: Power/Precision/Toughness, with a bit of Vit.
Current traits: 25 Marksmanship, 30 Skirmishing, 5 Wilderness (endurance regen), 10 Nature (longer boons). Longbow pierce/trap throwing+aoe extension/trap recharge/vit(?) to power…can’t remember the rest, those are the main ones I was after.

Keep moving, line them up for longbow pierce, knock them together using knockback and trap ‘em so that you have combo field to fire through and so they’re slowed/burning. Spider can web them in place and spits a poison field, devourer can slow them with spike, switch to axe when they’re spread out since it bounces around and use hunters call on tougher targets for continual hits while using other skills.

Typical start of a fight in PvE is throw the 3 traps between target and self (not agro’ed yet), then vulnerability, rapid shot, knockback if they are about to hit me or activate a nasty skill at me or pet (usually takes this long for them to reach due to traps slowing them initially), refresh traps, rapid shot if they’re still alive…Tougher foes start with the 2 warhorn skills then switch to longbow for the above.

Group fights add in barrage when you’ve got the 2 secs to be rooted in place to get it off – much easier in big events than in solo play.

I frequently use knockback to group enemies together too, so that traps/barrage work better – or circle around them to use knockback to knock them into a trap if they’re ranged or I misjudged the trap placement.

Dungeons I start switching in the aoe heal and stone spirit, and looking at other elites and condition-removal stuff. I switch out the fire trap for another one when dealing with destroyers/embers/etc.

Underwater: almost exclusively harpoon gun. Skill 1 to make sure I actually am in range and get the pet moving, then 3, then 2 once the enemy has stopped moving so it doesn’t get dodged. Swap pets and get the second F2 off as the new pet’s first attack, then just keep 3+2 up as much as possible and start using skill 4 when the enemy is low on health. Skill 5 if I really need to dodge/get some distance – but it’s unsafe in some areas underwater due to how tightly packed the area is, so I often don’t use it – I keep circle-strafing if the enemy is focusing on me instead of my pet.

Pets and a Lack of F2 Responsiveness

So perhaps a list of the ones that are particularly troublesome could help to get them looked at =)

Blue Jellyfish + Rainbow Jellyfish: Chilling Whirl

You either have to start the combat with F1 then F2 (F1 first or they don’t use their special on your target, and just go spinning off into the water on a random angle instead wasting the skill anyway and agroing everything else in the area), or it is almost impossible to get them to use F2 at all during the fight.

I’ve noticed it some, but I’ve also noticed on f2 plus other abilities the bar begins to flash a kind of sucked into a wormhole effect that I’ve come to understand that the ability is next in queue waiting on another ability to finish.

I’ve also noticed that flash – I have been looking for it specifically – and for the Jellyfish most of the time the ability still doesn’t activate despite that flash going off. The UI shows that I tried to queue the skill…but it seems that the skill queue got dropped.

The only thing I can think is that my Ranger activating their skills seems to be cancelling the pet’s queued skill. If I stop activating anything myself (just leaving the auto-attack going), the Jellyfish seem a little more likely to actually activate their F2 in combat. Any time I hit the harpoon gun skills 2 or 3 after asking the pet to do it’s F2 skill, the pet skill never goes off. (Skills 4 and 5 are more situational – I don’t activate them anywhere near as often).

The Jellyfish have a long auto-attack animation…if the pet skills are being put into the same skill queue as the player’s next skill activation so that the player’s skills are overwriting the request for the pet to use it’s skill in the skill queue, it could explain some of the unresponsiveness of the pets. If that is the case, it desperately needs to be fixed – the pet is supposed to be in addition to the ranger, not instead of the ranger.

Stow Away Bug

You’re not allowed to play without a pet in GW2 as a Ranger.

They let you put it away so it’s not a pain in things like vistas/jumping puzzles, but it comes back out when you attack/take any damage.

Since they are the Ranger profession mechanic, they’re required.

Ranger's Pets not functioning right

The patch did not fix it. My Jellyfish in particular are still hair-tearingly unresponsive. F2 only works reliably if it is the first action of a fight. Once they start auto-attacking, forget trying to get them to actually use their special attack, they just refuse most of the time (it averages 5-15 tries before it’ll be successful).

Ranger Pet's

Even after the update, the Blue/Rainbow Jellyfish will not interrupt their auto-attacks to do their F2 skill (Chilling Whirl) most of the time.

The only time their F2 skill works reliably is when I begin the fight with their F2 skill (they’ll use it reliably if they’re not yet attacking). Otherwise I’ll end up pressing F2 (I’ve tried activating it both by keybind AND by mouse click) between 5-15 times before they’ll actually bother to stop and use it. The skill flashes to show it got queued…but they won’t use it. Instead of activating it they usually stop what they’re doing, hang in the water motionless for a second, then go back to auto-attacking. Half the time when they finally do get around to actually obeying the command, the enemy is already dead.

Their unresponsiveness has been driving me a bit crazy. The other pets I’ve used haven’t been quite so bad, but those jellyfish are just awful in terms of responsiveness (though they survive really well, so I’d like to be able to use them properly).

Edit: Are pet skills queued with the Ranger’s skill queue? If so, that may be part of the problem with Jellyfish – their auto-attack is pretty slow, and by the time they’ve finished it my ranger has activated 2-3 of their own attacks…if the Ranger’s attacks are overwriting the queued request for the Jellyfish to use it’s special it may explain the poor responsiveness. But if that is the case, it desperately needs changing, because the Ranger’s auto-attack will just keep overwriting the request to activate the pet special all the time – pets are supposed to be in addition to the ranger, not the ranger having to cancel all of their own attacks in order to get the pet to work!

Do not see Small Fangs, nor do I see Small Totem and those items are listed for lvl 100.

Aren’t those used for auto-learned recipes though – ones that you get at 100 crafting automatically? I don’t remember them being in recipes that needed to be discovered.

Discovery for tailoring/leatherworking/huntsman generally consisted of:

  • Combine insignia (auto learned or karma bought recipe) with 2 item parts (e.g. tunic padding and tunic panel) to get item based on the insignia used.
  • Combine base material (e.g. iron ingots) with a gold material drop that doesn’t go to the collectables storage (e.g. charged slivers) to make a rune/weapon upgrade item
  • Tailoring/Leatherworking: Combine base material + other material + rune of holding from the crafting npc to make bags

Other recipes were either auto-learned, or had to be purchased. Most base materials themselves are often not used for discoverable recipes (cooking is an exception). e.g. Leatherworking never used bolts of cloth as discoverable items – it’s “base material” for bags/etc was usually leather pads.

Not seeing the small totems or small fangs in the discovery tab sounds right – there were no discoverable recipes for those if I remember correctly.

Having items that were previously listed vanish may be a bug – but only if the last recipe discovered did not use that component. Otherwise, you just ran out of discoverable recipes for that ingredient – other recipes using it may need to be purchased from a karma vendor somewhere.

Guild Buffs not working.

I had noticed that the Magic Find buff is never actually shown in the buff section for players, and had wondered if it was actually not working as a result. Didn’t seem to matter whether we were on the home server or on an overflow either, it just never got shown (and yes, we’re ALL on the same world, so guild influence/upgrades being world-specific won’t be affecting that). Guild interface said it was active…

If that is the case, it represents 1500 wasted influence points for our guild so far, as we’ve just triggered off our 3rd activation of this buff.

Those items sold through the night but I have only 9 silver 53 copper in the pick up tab. Where is the rest?

I believe there is a listing fee, and a fee on sale but I may be wrong.

The listing fee is consumed from your money instantly (when you put the item for sale), so this fee should not occur again when it is sold successfully (at least nothing in the TP lets me know, that there is a second fee). So I assume this is either a bug (double fee, whatever) or another UI-issue (like not displaying there are multiple fees, being charged at different times)

Although it’s not documented in the TP interface itself, the fees appear to be:

  • 5% up front to list
  • 10% from the profit when the item sells

I think the most basic but working solution is to grey the buy-button out uppon clicking (maybe display an alt. text like “processing”) and turn it back on success/failure. This avoids the “click-twice” problem, because the user might be unsure if he clicked correctly

The important part here is the little detail that grey-out is done without any networking involved, it just happens regardless of connectivity and response-time to the TP, while turning-back requires an appropriate answer from the TP.

I don’t think it’s that simple – at the moment the button does stay greyed out after being clicked when hit by this delay…until the user goes to another tab to try to work out what happened. Then the button is back, and you can rebuy. If you leave the TP open, the page just stays with a greyed out button for what seems to be indefinitely (I’ve tested to 5 minutes wait with no update, and can only assume that no update was ever going to come through).

When it just doesn’t update from the grey, the user that is not familiar with the issue tries to check “is it in My Transactions?…Nope…Is it in Pickups?…Nope…I’ve still got my money…oh, it must not have gone through”. At that point, the button is no longer greyed out because they left the buy tab to try to check what had happened to the purchase. I believe that the state of the TP is not stored within the game, so by clicking on another tab to try to work out what had happened, the “this item purchase is being processed” is lost for the game client (though the server has it and is working on it, albeit slowly).

The right thing would be for the My Transactions page to be listing the purchase (and scrollable so that we could see more than the last 10 transactions), but that’s caught up in the delay issue in the first place.

tl;dr – if you placed an order on the trading post and you think it has taken your money, check the pickup tab to see if your money and/or the items are there. if it’s not there, check to see if you have an open order in the ‘items i’m buying’ section of the My Transactions tab.

There is also a delay sometimes on things being listed in the “My Transactions” section of the Trading Post.

It has not been uncommon that the user tries to buy an item, the buy button gets greyed out, no confirmation is received, no money is removed from their inventory, nothing is listed in their “My Transactions” “Items I’m Buying” or “Items I’ve Bought” sections, and nothing is listed in their “Pickup Tab”.

This causes the user to think that the purchase has not gone through – when in fact it has, but the user interface is NOT showing ANY evidence of the purchase having been made. Not even their money has been taken at this stage.

What typically happens after this, is about 5 to 30 minutes later the money suddenly vanishes from their bag. There will STILL be nothing listed in their “My Transactions” “Items I’m Buying” or “Items I’ve Bought” sections, or their “Pickup Tab”.

12-24 hours later, the bought items finally arrive in the “Pickup Tab”, and only then begin to be visible in the “My Transactions” tabs as well. These tend to trickle in, they don’t all arrive at the same time.

If when the buy button greyed out and never seemed to complete, the user tried to purchase the item a second time, the above happens for every attempt – if the player is really lucky the item will have been sold out at the price they were buying at and they’ll get their money back in the Pickup Tab when it finally gets processed. More commonly, they end up getting multiple copies of what they tried to buy.

Later purchases on the Trading Post (by later, I mean an hour later/etc) can go through properly without any delays, despite older orders still being “stuck” in the system.

This seems to happen in spikes – the Trading Post will be working fine most of the time, then all of a sudden every single person in our guild will get hit with this transaction delay. An hour or so later, and the Trading Post will be working fine again.

The biggest problems with this are:

  • Lack of feedback that the transaction has been placed at all.
  • Money not being taken for the transaction until much later, causing a great deal of confusion when the player suddenly loses a large chunk of their money.
  • Transaction is not listed in the “My Transactions” pages – and in fact does not become listed before it has been filled some 12-24 hours later, so it is impossible to cancel a buy order that has been affected by this.
  • Delivery is delayed anything up to a full 24 hours, potentially making the item that was being bought no longer of use to the player (outlevelled it while waiting for it, got an alternative drop, etc).

Please don’t get me wrong – I love the Trading Post, and am trying to help in tracking down whatever is causing these issues. The delays are a major part of what is tripping up players so badly and the cause of a lot of these “OMG the TP stole my money” posts.

These are not old issues either – we had this happen to guild members about 40 hours ago with the last of the affected items being finally delivered about 25 hours ago (so on the patch prior to last night’s major maintenance – we don’t know yet if that maintenance fixed this).

I figured that a summary of the above symptoms could be useful, both in terms of explaining to ArenaNet what (is? was?) happening, and in terms of warning other players – if that buy button goes grey when you pressed it, assume you HAVE bought it - even if there is no indication in the TP interface and all your money is still in your inventory – the system WILL catch up to that purchase later, and you WILL end up with multiples if you try the same purchase again. And on that note – if this delay issue starts, go and do something else for an hour or so to let the TP catch back up so your next purchase doesn’t have the same issues.

Issue: Deposit all collectibles & missing loot

Collectables storage is in the bank, but in another tab rather than the main storage slots. On the left pane, there is an icon with 4 squares – click on that to open the collectables storage pane.

For dye colours, when does it disappear? Before finding out what the colour is, or when you double-click on the identified colour? If when you double-click on the identified colour, that colour is now permanently unlocked for use on that character. In the “H” hero window, just above the icons for the armour you are wearing is an “eyedropper” icon. Clicking on that allows you to change the colour of your armour using any dye colours you have unlocked on that character.

I’m not sure on the loot – I’m assuming that you have been hitting “f” to loot the bodies. If you have auto-loot turned on, you still need to hit f – but things are then put in your bag immediately when you hit f, and a list of the items are displayed above the mini map temporarily. There has been mention of a bug where the list moves up if you move the minimap from the bottom of the screen to the top – effectively putting that list off the top of the screen. Maybe test by keeping your inventory window open on the side before looting the next body, and see if there’s anything appearing there?

Monthly Survivor Achievement Bugged

This is intended. Disconnecting, changing map (like going back to town, other area), and dying (but not just going into downed) all reset the progress. Using waypoints that lie on the same map is fine.

You have to get 100,000 experience in ONE GO IN THE SAME ZONE.

I suggest crafting, events, or finding mobs that haven’t died in a while.

I do not believe it is intended – it is a bug. The Survivor title is supposed to be “xp gained without defeat” – and travelling to another zone, or logging out for the night is not being defeated. Based on previous iterations of Survivor in GW1, there is no logical reason for anything other than defeat counting to reset the title – it’s ALWAYS been about xp without death (originally xp gained without a single death, more recently just xp gained since last death).

That said, at the moment the achievement is currently bugged, and it will reset:

  • When you rezone (including moving from an overflow to the home world for the same zone)
  • When you log out
  • When you enter an instance
  • (Sometimes) When you use a waypoint
  • When you are defeated

Only the last of those 5 things should be resetting the Survivor achievement. When it resets, the counter stops at the previous highest-level of achievement until you pass it again – so if it’s showing 65,000/75,000 the counter will only start showing your current progress increasing once you’ve passed 65,000 xp without reset. It’s still counting in the background, but due to zoning/logging/etc keeps getting reset before you reach the previous best of 65k.

God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals title issue

I had the same issue originally, and did the following to fix it:

  • Log out of GW2
  • Log into GW1, and load the character with the GWAMM title
  • Log out of GW1, and back into GW2.

I don’t think I had to take the GW1 character into the HoM, just to get the game to load them so it triggered recognition of the title when they logged back out. Give that a try, and let us know if it fixes it

"Represent" button doesn't work

The usual way we’ve managed to fix it for an individual has been to rezone to another map, or to log out and back in (sometimes one of those fixes it, sometimes the other) – or to wait an hour and try again then. It’s intermittent, and one of the known issues with Guild & Party interfaces that they’ve been working on since release (acknowledged in the “current status” posts each day).

When it’s been broken, it stays broken for a period of time. When it works, it works reliably for a period of time.

IT DOES NOT RESET AT THE END OF THE MONTH.

I did it late august and it still shows up as 100% (as it’s done since I got it). I still need to wait for a couple of weeks to confirm my suspicions, but it would seem that it is not tied to calender months but rather a 30/31 day timer.

The monthly achievements reset at 1st September for about 1/2 our guild members, but not for the other half. So it’s more that the reset is bugged – there is no logical reason why it should have reset for some people but not for others except that the reset failed/bugged out… but that’s being discussed in the thread here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Monthly-achievements-not-reset-from-August

For drop differences: Is there a difference in character levels between the two of you?

The reason I ask is because one of the game “hints” (as shown in the hint section in the menu bar at the top of the screen) is that if you kill creatures of a higher level than your real level (not the downscaled one), you will have a higher drop rate of good items. If you were a higher level than he was, and the enemies were in between your two levels, this could have contributed to a difference in the type of drops you were both getting. i.e. Was he killing enemies “higher” than his actual character level and thus had an inherent magic find boost that isn’t shown as a buff?

Otherwise…RNG is random, you do get runs of good/bad stuff.

Your other option at that point is to log out and back in again. It resets the agro, but it really should not be necessary. If the mob can no longer hit you, it shouldn’t keep you in fight mode. We had problems with that during beta when people fell through the map and couldn’t waypoint back because some mob was trying unsuccessfully to hit them through the floor.

When you log back in, you’ll be standing in the same place.

Most of them need special gold materials (like destroyer fragments – things that don’t go to the collectables storage). The ones I’ve seen so far have all been unlocked via the discovery tab using those materials + standard crafting ones.

Camera control issues - a documented list

I agree with all of the points you made – but there’s an additional point I’d like to add that is related.

The “bright flash” of screen to white at the beginning/end of the vista views – occurring right after the camera has just spazzed out while jumping to get to those vistas – is acting as a trigger (“straw that broke the camel’s back” type). With the camera issues – particularly bounces off walls or walking up those square tower stairs with the camera zooming in and out on the stair railings all the way up – by the time the vista is reached the player is already feeling a little off. We’ve had a couple of guild members that then responded to the vista “white flash” with vomiting or migraines and just had to stop playing (for the day).

I’d add the request to please provide the option to go dark/black rather than bright/white on those vistas, because they are physically painful in their current iteration – particularly in combination with the camera issues to get to them.

It doesn’t seem to matter whether the owner is there or not – I always see the “charm” option for other ranger’s pets…which obviously never works.

Unless it has changed overnight, you see the item’s normal tooltip if you put your mouse over the icon of the item. That shows stats, damage, etc.

Moving servers of guild leader removes all guild influence

Guild influence and guild upgrades are tied to the server they’re earned on. Therefore moving to a new server means that the influence doesn’t move with you.

When you say it was “removed” when the leader moved, was it missing on the original server for players that hadn’t moved yet, or just 0 on the new server? Because if it’s just 0 on the new server, it’s not a bug – it’s a deliberate design choice by ArenaNet.

If that’s the one I think it is, it isn’t bugged – it's in an underwater tunnel below you. You need to swim through the tunnel from the waypoint in the water to get to that point of interest.

100% world completion bug?

I’m wondering what is gonna happen when new maps will be added. Obviously the world completition will suddenly become lower than 100% so just by complete the new map will you take again the world completition reward?

If they do it like they did in GW1, each new expansion/campaign tracked the maps individually. So full completion in one map was not affected by the addition of a second map. The second map would have it’s own, separate, 100% completion rewards.

Raidiant Elite Luxon Armor Not Giving HoM Rewards

You can check for the tapestry by talking to “Kimmes the Historian”, and setting the Hall of Monuments into character based mode. If there’s no tapestry on a particular monument, that character won’t be able to add items to that monument until they earn and apply a tapestry. The tapestries are earned by doing the Eye of the North primary quest lines on that character.

Character Slot Expansion in Gem Store - received more than one

There was also issues with character slots not resetting properly between the betas and release.

During the stress tests after the last BWE, I bought 3 character slots. When these got activated a day later, it gave me 5 character slots. I reported both the delay, and then the extra slots at the time.

At release, my account began with 10 character slots (reported to support), and I didn’t initially realise that the number hadn’t changed for everyone, so I made my 8 characters (one per class). It was only when talking with guild members that I realised what had probably happened, and that the extra 5 were a left-over of the bugged purchase of 3 slots in the stress test.

I still don’t know whether the extra 5 slots are going to be reset/removed. Since I wanted 8 slots for one of each profession, this leaves me as unsure whether to buy 3 character slots now (taking it to 13!) just to ensure that I don’t lose 3 characters if the issue is corrected – I have the gems set aside for it if I need to (as bought during the stress test because I knew I’d want 8 slots to start with). I tried asking support…but while I was thanked for reporting the issue, I got no resolution of the question for whether the additional slots would be being removed, or were safe to use.

It currently seems to reset when you:

  • Rezone (including moving between overflow and home world for the same zone)
  • Exit the game
  • Enter an instance
  • (Sometimes) Use a waypoint

It’s supposed to only reset when you are defeated.

Current way to get the monthly is to earn all 100,000xp while remaining in the same zone without waypointing…which is easiest to do by crafting. You’ll likely need to swap between multiple crafts to get there.

Edit: Crafting at level 35, I had to gain 4 character levels and get between 70-140 in 6 crafts I think to actually get to 100,000 xp from crafting. So if you’re not seeing it change from getting one craft to 100…you possibly just haven’t done enough yet to pass your previously obtained survivor xp value. Crafting at higher levels will not need as much I believe, since the craft xp seems to be a proportion of the xp needed for your current level rather than a fixed amount.

Using ALT to get some items, rather than all.

I noticed in the beta weekends that if ALT had been rebound at all – either used as a modifier key or bound to an action (I tried using ALT as the “target lock” action), it seemed to stop working for things like splitting stacks (which I would consider a bug). Have you modified your key bindings?

It’s supposed to be “hold ALT, then drag the stack to an empty slot in your bag” to get the split stack window to show.

I’d suggest that the split stack option should be added to the right-click menu for stacked items.

Same here – it reset for about half our guild members, but not for the other half. Since I got the monthly achievements done for August, not being able to do them for September is a little frustrating.
