Definitely don’t need dedicated storage for components. If you make too many it’s your own fault.
For everything except cooking, I’d agree with you. For cooking…there’s just so many items that are cooking components, and you need to combine them so much, that dedicated storage for things like the spice packs, stocks, dough, etc, is kind of needed. Unlike other crafts, earlier components do not automatically become unneeded as you increase in cooking, resulting in an exponential explosion in the number of components you need to have on hand at any one time for discovery purposes. e.g. components that need level 50 to make are still used in recipes that need you to be level 400 to discover…so unless you’re following an out-of-game guide you don’t know how long you’ll need to hang onto that component for.
It’s bad enough that my Cook became unplayable while they were levelling up cooking. Those components and the discovered recipes took up all their bag space (with extra slots also filled – though admittedly I didn’t make them more than 8-slot bags for their slots), and almost half my bank space (with bank expanded to max slots). I’ve sold/combined/thrown away a lot of the excess now, but while they were still discovering recipes they still needed to keep those items…and truly didn’t have enough storage available to do so.
On the plus side…our guild bank has free food for guild members from people levelling up cooking and just dumping “completed” recipes in there (not components)
.

There’s been times in the past where the display of the guild build queues went blank/stopped showing, but the builds were still active in the background – usually triggered by the servers being overloaded.
Given that the event has just started (and lots of people are logging in for it), it’s possible that this is the same display issue returning when the server that provides the guild info is under load again. If this is so, the influence isn’t lost and the upgrades are still building – the guild interface is just not able to show it properly at present.
Well do you have the other things associated with world completion? You should have 2 Gift of Completion and the title “Been There, Done That”
The “Been there, done that” title is showing on Sinsko’s first screenshot, so I’m going to say yes they probably do already have that.
I have seen it mentioned on the forums that if you did a skill point that was an “eat this item” one, and ate the item on a different map to the one where the skill point was, you had to return to the skill point’s map to get the map completion bonus and the final rewards. Is that a possibility?

If you have 9 or 10 mails stored, new ones sent to you will be held back until you clear some space in your mailbox. (Note: it’s supposed to be 10, but it’s been locking at 9 stored for some people – so even if you’re at 9/10 this may still be the reason you get no more mails arriving).
Assuming this is the case for you, try deleting some old mails – the ones that were held back should start flowing in.
Here’s the list of recipes that use the Mithril Filigree: http://bit.ly/SZLZuX
Of these, only the green recipes are discoverable – the gold ones are karma-bought from the Jewelery trainer.
If you have discovered all 7 green recipes that use a Mithril Filigree, it will no longer show in the discoverable tab because there are no recipes left to discover for it.
A screenshot of the list of recipes in the Production tab is kind of needed since that shows what you do already know – without which we can only assume that you probably have learned those recipes already. You can filter it to “Adept” and “Master” recipes to restrict the view to those that require at least 300 in the skill (via the drop-down arrow next to the search box).

I discover all PvE and WvW maps on 100% but on the World map writte me i dont discover all vistas , point of interest and waypoint O.O
I discovery all i check all areas !!! its bug or what ???Point of interest 698/717
Waypoints 498/507
Vistas 261/266
98% World Completion
Have you also checked the 6 cities? I’m assuming you had 100% hearts since you didn’t list those, which would point to a zone without hearts as being the one without full 100%. Those include the cities, WvW (but you said you checked all 4 WvW zones), and the 3 zones in Orr (but they’d be PvE zones).
Rata Sum has 5 vistas, 19 POIs and 9 waypoints, which matches exactly the missing numbers you listed above…so I’d suggest checking that city first.
Don’t forget to check WvW maps too – the vistas in there are required as part of the 100% map. All 3 borderlands are separate, so that makes 4 maps in there to check.
Working well here…with one exception.
I’ve got multiple GW2 accounts that I log into from this computer. When it became possible to use 100 character long passwords, and we were being asked to change passwords by Mike O’Brien, I changed the passwords to longer passphrases, and then created separate shortcuts for each account using the -email, -password and -nopatchui options so that I could log into the right account easily (with multiple accounts, you can’t just save the login details in the launcher).
Add the authenticator…and this is no longer possible. -nopatchui means that you won’t get a prompt for the 6-digit code, so you cannot login. Not using -nopatchui means that -email and -password options do not work at all. Further, the launcher has remembered the original password for the main account I use, and point-blank refuses to learn the updated longer passphrase for it instead (I’d use that as a work-around for the main account if someone knows how to get it to update properly).
I’ll gladly take the authenticator anyway, but the loss of account-specific login shortcuts in combination with long passphrases is frustrating, given that those used to work.

This thread probably needs to be merged across:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Mobs-Reset-Mobs-Take-No-Damage-Downed-State-Skills-Cause-No-Damage-etc/first
I’m seeing this happen on average at least once every 5 minute or so – it’s getting extremely frustrating.
If the Charr is launching cows, the Cattlepult is not able to be interacted with. Wait for the set of cows (I think he launches 6) to be finished launching and then you can interact with the Cattlepult from the front.
The “disabled content” is the ability to bet on how far the cows would go when launched – because players were not reading it and thinking that would launch them, causing them to lose a ton of money (for a low level character) on a lost bet.
To use it on multiple devices, you need to set them all up at the same time I believe – enter the secret code on each of them before putting the 6-digit verification in at the bottom of the page.
I’ve used multiple devices for something else that used Google Authenticator, and that worked fine – they just all have to have the same Secret Code.
Once the code has been verified, the accounts section for GW2 doesn’t display the Secret Code again. So you’d have to have entered that code on all desired devices right at the beginning before completing the link. Unlinking and relinking is probably the only way to get it set up on more than one device if you’ve already done the link.
I’ve noticed that too – Sylvari Ranger, and she shouts “For Great Justice” instead of “Yarrr” (4th bonus on Superior runes of the pirate, so it affects both Major and Superior).
Other alternative to fix it is to put your weapons away (there’s a keybinding in the Options window, but by default it’s not set to anything). Once you have no weapons out and are not under a condition/taking damage it seems to reset.
I’ve seen this many times on my Ranger too – particularly in the water. It’s really frustrating to have a mob that is actively hitting you and/or your pet become “immune” and still continue to hit you (for general in-the-world mobs activating “I can’t path to you” protections, not special event mobs).
Other things that cause it:
The severity of the “immune” has seemed to become a lot worse/more frequent in the last week or so for me. I don’t know whether that’s an artifact of where/what type of fighting I’ve been doing (e.g. becoming more skilled in kiting/using CC), or due to some change introduced in the patch a week ago.
(edited by Melana.8345)
Do you have a pvp set of armor with 6 of that rune equipped? I’ve seen hints about the forum that the pvp set’s runes sometimes seem to be included in the total count.
The problem with this is that events – particularly end-game events – are generally chains. This is by design, yet actually following the chains through to the next events ends up penalising the players due to “too many events in a short period of time”.
Likewise, the end-game zone is dominated by a single enemy type. Risen, whether fish, pirate, krait, drake, etc are all still Risen (as shown by the Daily “monster types killed” achievement) – so DR penalties based on “the same type of enemy killed repeatedly” are being accumulated simply by playing normally in the only level 80-specific zone available.
I’m at the point from the last week where I simply get few to no drops in Orr other than a porous bone or two. I can leave the zone and get stuff elsewhere, but coming back to Orr results in almost nothing again. It’s noticeable when you go from 20-30 item drops in an hour down to 2-3 item drops in an hour – especially when it so far has been completely reproduceable (and doesn’t seem to reset regardless of how much time you spend in other zones). I think that’s why my first ever explorable dungeon run ended up being penalized last week, and I’ve never done a second explorable mode dungeon run as a result.
I’m still working towards 100% map – but at this stage, when that’s done I’ll stick to Frostgorge Sound. At least there the types of mob vary so normal play doesn’t result in being punished just for being in the zone.
Note: I’m in Australia, so I have been at work since the patch today. I haven’t been able to test changes, but the whole design of DR for “too many events” and “same monster type repeatedly” is in direct opposition to the design of the game’s max-level zones.
(edited by Melana.8345)
I love my devourers – currently using the whiptail and lashtail ones (I didn’t realise there was a third one, I’ll have to hunt that one down too).
However, they can be somewhat of a liability in Orr. Each time they use their burrow retreat, they end up agroing another 1-5 enemies (usually 2-3)…turning a simple fight into a much-larger-than-expected melee.
And they hate those poison-lobber things (fish-mouth things) that make that odd noise – they’ll happily run through and ignore a dozen enemies just to try to be able to reach the poison lobber…abandoning you and leaving you to deal with everything they annoyed.
The times when I’d really like to be able to keep a pet stowed is in jumping puzzles.
Jumping puzzles become “go away pet so I can see, jump, jump, jump, get out of my way pet, jump, jump, I said go away pet, jump, kitten off pet – I’m not fighting and you’re in the kitten way!”
Today’s Patch notes: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Update-Notes-October-1st-2012/first#post317543
General
It seems that your options at this point are:
I’m facing the same issue – my first ever explorable dungeon run was DR capped due to the bug (reported with times/SS in the sticky thread here ). I’m choosing to wait for the bug fix, because I refuse to continue to be penalised – and have the penalty build up further – when I’ve done nothing to deserve the penalty in the first place that I’m aware of. I’ve still got some map completion to do, and 7 other characters to play, plus collecting the other materials for the legendary weapon I wanted to earn (which was why I did the explorable dungeon in the first place), so I’ve got a lot of other stuff I can do while I wait for the explorable mode dungeons to become playable (with this bug penalising me for normal game play, they are not currently playable for me).
Support are unable to create items/gold/reimburse tokens lost due to this or any other bug – they don’t have any tools available to do so. In part, that ensures that ArenaNet employees that play the game can’t get Support members to create items for them and cheat (which I’ve heard of happening in other games in the past) which is in itself a good thing…but it also means that when there is a bug like this there is no way to recompense players either.
So, if you continue doing explorable mode dungeons, do so knowing that:
a) your DR penalty will likely build up/get worse every dungeon run or two despite running them normally, and
b) Support are highly unlikely to ever be able to replace the tokens that you lose due to this bug – what you get is likely to be all you will ever get for those bugged runs.
(edited by Melana.8345)
So maybe it might be a lot of people had diminishing returns going into the fixed system, and the fixed system is unable to properly reward them.
No, because people who have never done an explorable dungeon before are also getting reduced/bugged rewards for their first dungeon.
Twilight Arbor Explorable.
Path: Up, then ??? (Worms, Spiders, Spider Boss, Tree)
Number of dungeon runs: First EVER explorable mode dungeon.
Time taken: 1hr 40 minutes
Reward: 45 tokens.
Character Name: Melana Nighthawk
Server: Jade Quarry
Start: 20:30 GMT+10 (AEST)
End: 22:08 GMT+10 (AEST)
If it matters, I was the instance owner for the group.
Having NEVER done an explorable mode dungeon ever AND taking more than an hour and a half because we were trying to work out what we were doing, I was bitterly disappointed to have my reward reduced by 25%. There is nothing I’ve ever done that should have triggered any form of diminishing returns ever that I’m aware of. For story mode dungeons, I’ve done AC twice (helping other guild members through), CM once and TA once. The last story mode dungeon was done Sunday afternoon Australian time (Sat around 10pm ArenaNet time).
All other party members got their 60 token reward.
Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j8ptdeeq8zmrl8o/gw132.jpg
Edit: And to support that I haven’t done other dungeons, here’s my achievements list:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/pbovdxu2qfoi7vx/gw133.jpg
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cp1dyul9ovg6qn5/gw134.jpg
Given that I’m getting bugged rewards for my very first Explorable Mode dungeon entry, I won’t be risking doing another explorable mode dungeon again until it is confirmed that this issue is fixed. It’s heartbreaking to do the effort and get penalised due to a bug like this, when I know that support have no way to reimburse me for what the bug has stolen from me
.

You do know that you can log into different accounts from the same computer (one at a time, of course)?
So if she’s going to play a character on your computer, there is no actual reason she can’t have her own account now and just log into that from the GW2 client on your machine rather than your own account. Then when you do get a second computer, she’d log into her account from the new machine instead (all character information, keybindings, etc are stored server-side, so it doesn’t matter which actual machine you connect to the server from).
I do understand that you won’t be able to be playing at the same time…but that does let her start a character and keep the progress later.
Have you used a transmutation stone before? If not, the transmute button is greyed out until you select each part that you want on the final result – i.e. select the appearance box at the top from the two options, then select the stat box in the middle from the two options, then (if available) select the upgrade box at the bottom from the two options. Only once you’ve selected all three of those so you know exactly what the finished item will have appearance/stat wise will the button to transmute become usable.
We have 19 guild members, and got a “33 members logged in” bonus one day. I don’t know if it’s characters logged in, or a bug, but that wasn’t number of accounts.
Universal tokens is a terrible terrible idea. The people wanting this probably are the same doing arah shard farming and Cof and Just want all the armor in the fastest and easiest way. It is already bad enough now that everyone are only announcing those dungeons, places like CoE would NEVER be done with universal tokens.
I’m all for one to increase the rewards, specially the money. But making universal tokens will not incentive people to do different dungeons or paths.
I have no issues with needing to work for armor…with it taking time. It took me 5 years (2.5 actually actively working towards it) to earn my GWAMM title in GW1, and 1 year actively working towards it to earn my Obsidian Armor in GW1 – and for that I didn’t farm the Underworld heavily, I earned about 20% myself in the Underworld and the other 80% from playing the rest of the game to earn the money to buy the rest of the mats from other players.
I have huge issues with having to repeat the exact same content over and over and over without a break until the sheer monotony of the repetition sends me into a screaming fit and I quit the game in utter disgust. I detest being locked into doing the exact same thing in order to progress when there is a whole world out there to explore.
I’m looking forward to spending probably the next 1-2 years working towards a legendary weapon…but the requirement to have to repeatedly farm the same dungeon 40-50 times pretty much makes me want to puke.
There’s 8 dungeons each with (at least?) 3 different paths…why should I be locked into a single set of 3 paths instead of being able to gain progress from all of them – especially considering how many runs are required to earn the mats for weapons/armor? If I’m after something specific, the current set up means that I get no progress at all towards whatever I want to work on if I don’t stick to the same dungeon, thus reducing the whole game to a single instance. Yuck!
And no – I haven’t done any Arah shard farming, or CoF farming – I haven’t started explorable dungeons at all yet. I’ve been waiting for a few more Guild members to hit 80 so that we can do the explorable modes of dungeons together.
I have no problem doing content more than once…the fact that I had 24 characters in GW1 proves that. I DO have issues with being able to only do a single piece of content on a single character repeatedly with nothing else I can vary it up with. That becomes a grind, and I have quit other games as a direct result of it.
Edit: And as a Ranger, I have zero incentive to do CoE as you’re wanting. For the longbow, I have to stick to TA. I strongly dislike the medium armor CoE skin, so apart from one run of each explorable mode to get the achievement, there is currently absolutely zero incentive for me to do CoE at all – it’s actually detrimental to progressing with what I want to achieve in game and provides no rewards that I’m interested in earning. Making tokens universal changes that, as it opens CoE up as being something else I can do.
Edit #2: Today’s update fixes a lot of the repetition issue – having to do each explorable path for a piece of armor, or 3 times each for legendary weapon tokens, and actually needing to complete the paths is a lot more reasonable than the huge number of repetitions previously needed.
(edited by Melana.8345)
Bugged on Jade Quarry too.
Same at Jade Quarry. In fact, a ton of stuff came up bugged after the login server crash and rollback that happened yesterday.
Not only did we lose progress, but it was then impossible to redo some of what was lost.
They’re also displayed in the Sell tab of the Trading Post, when they probably shouldn’t be (at least, they were a few days ago when I accidently listed my not-yet-soulbound dagger).
What do you mean that new " unfilled" hearts do not give you xp, karma and coins ? As far as I can remember, I have always get medal with karma, xp and some coins for doing heart for the first time.
Now I do not receive any except mail from “heart” and some coins.
Something is wrong.
The ones that give a medal are events, not hearts. Hearts do not, and never have (at least never in release or the last 2 BWEs) given medals at completion.
Hearts themselves do not give Karma. The random events that pop up around them do.
You can tell the difference between the two by looking at the colour of the notification text (and icon beside it) on the list on the right. Hearts have a heart icon, and the text is yellow. Events have a variety of icons with orange text. Hearts you can only do once per character, Events you can repeat multiple times on the same character.
Hearts do not give karma, but do unlock people that you can spend karma with.
There is a limit to the number of mails you can store. It’s supposed to be a max of 10 – but I think some people have run into issues if they’ve had 9 mails stored.
If this is what is affecting you, try deleting old mails that you don’t need anymore – the new ones should then start being delivered.
Are you an elementalist?
If so – check that you have an attunement selected. Hit one of F1 to F4 to select one.
There is an issue that can occur with elementalists where they end up with no active attunement. Since all their skills are dependant on what attunement is selected, having no attunement selected means that there are no skills displayed/available. This usually happens after being in an altered form (for example, being turned into a Snow Leopard, or a Pig) and either dying, changing zones or entering an instance while in that altered form. The game removes the altered form, but “forgets” which attunement you were in previously so leaves you with no attunement selected.
That is a deal breaker when coming to server transfers for me, especially after me and my guild-mates used our tomb of influence at the start. Not to mention all the upgrades.
Same for our guild. ArenaNet can suggest moving worlds to address WvW queues all they like, but the fact that we’ll essentially lose all our Tome-bought upgrades and take months in a small guild to rebuild to where we are now due to the amount of influence we will earn without those Tomes (and the quest rewards) as a starter makes moving too much of a punishment.
The guild roster is universal, but ALL guild influence and upgrades are world-specific and will be left behind on the previous world. If you transferred back to the previous world, the influence/upgrades would still be there waiting for your return.
7 female, 1 male (I wanted the Sylvari mohawk for my necro, and that was male-only).
3 Sylvari, 2 Asura, 1 Human, 1 Norn, 1 Charr.

For the rewards, they are going to fix them – and are going to try to retroactively fix them for people who have already opened them too.
ArenaNet Post:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/story/End-Story-Loot-spoilers/175633
and read down about 4 posts later too.
We had that happen too – thought it was due to timing in the boss because they were at 1/2 health.
Hit them with one more of the pod cores, and they go back to small and killable again.
Each time you click the “buy” button, the purchase has been submitted. However, if the Trading Post was under load, it can take some time for it to catch up. As discussed in the link above:
Cancelled sales also get caught in that 12-24 hour delay when the TP is like this.
It sounds like they managed to choke the TP with the updates earlier today/yesterday so that the above has started happening again.
For the banners,
Our guild decided they were not worth bothering with, since to be able to touch them you had to stop what you were doing, try to reach the map where they were spawned (which with overflows at the time was pretty much impossible), pay to waypoint back to where you were…and then repeat that in 25-30 minutes to renew the buff again.
So we worked on unlocking Economy 3 & 4 for the 24-72 hour buffs that are NOT banners.
Only one at a time, but you can swap them over any time you like if you have them in your bag with you. You right-click and select “Use” to get them to follow you. They reset to not following each time you change zones/etc.
They count as collectables, so they get deposited to storage with the “Deposit all Collectables” option. You can avoid this by putting them inside an “Invisible” bag/box to be able to keep them with you.
This is ridiculous. 3 days after release I beat this zone with no problems the skill challenge wasnt bugged at the time. I made a new character hoping by the time I level through higher level content all the stuff would be fixed. I went through many zones and many stuff were still not fixed and there is a 10page thread about this and it still isn’t fixed but they decided to only fix some of the skill challenges
Guys, I know it’s really frustrating (I’m stuck on it too, and can’t transfer world without risking not being able to get back – and I refuse to be locked out of my guild’s upgrades in order to fix a skill point) – but it’s not a case of “they decided to only fix some skill challenges”.
A bug is something unintended. If it’s unintended, it’s not always simple to work out what exactly is causing it and fix that particular issue. Sometime the attempted fix creates new bugs, or they think they’ve found the issue only to find that what they believed would fix it hasn’t, or the fix has flow-on effects that break something somewhere else…
I’d rather ArenaNet release fixes for the bugs they have managed to find and address as they become available, than have them hold all bug fixes until they’ve solved every one – some fixes being better than none.
They’ve acknowledged this one, they’re working on it, they think they have a fix in testing...assuming it passes testing we should see it soon. “When it’s ready”.
(edited by Melana.8345)
Same here – Opening Strike and Alpha Strike usually do not work at all.
I’ve read elsewhere that there seems to be a range limit (900 or thereabouts) for Opening Strike to actually work.
Given that these traits are Marksmanship based, you’d expect it to work at bow range (1200, or 1500 if traited for). Having to be at 3/4 bow range, especially when the longbow’s autoattack will already doing reduced damage at that range, for Opening Strike to work is simply wrong.
These pets provide no functionality that you do not have with other pets – they’re reward skins that recognise effort from prior play.
In the case of the BW Spider – it’s currently a crippled reskin with broken stats (it has rougly half the vitality of the pet it was reskinned from), which means that using it is making things harder for yourself. Which is a shame, because I loved the skin – but the spider just dies too easily compared to what it was supposed to be based on.
The people that have them earned them. GW1 is still available and played – you can do the same work to earn them that other players have already done if you really wanted them.
If they provided a power bonus or unique skills you didn’t have access to any other way, I can understand being upset about not having them. They don’t…thus they’re in my opinion a reasonable way to reward fans of the franchise without penalising new players – what reward would you have had them give instead, nothing at all?
How many mails do you have in the mail interface?
There is a limit to the number of mails you can store. While it is supposed to be 10, sometimes it blocks the receipt of more mail at 9/10 as well.
If you have 9 or 10 stored mails, try deleting some to make room for more to be delivered. If you don’t, then it sounds like a bug.
The satchel recipes are learned by getting the recipe scroll from the mystic forge, not through the discovery tab at the crafting station.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge#Armor_Box_.2F_Satchel_Recipes
I’m getting 1c for completing zones, which seems a bit… low… but I’m only level 19, so I can’t confirm it’s a bug. Item rewards seem fine, though.
Cities give 1 copper, fighting zones should give 10 silver or more. If the 1 copper was for one of the 6 cities, it’s normal. Otherwise it sounds wrong.
I’d add:
(edited by Melana.8345)
Every POI, every Vista, even the Skillpoints that myself and my guildie got in WvW last week now show as undiscovered/unearned on the map. How am I supposed to complete the zone if everything is going to reset every match?
Each of the different borderlands are different maps – i.e. the “Red World” map is different to the “Green World” map. (Not tied to world, but to team colour).
The POIs/Skill points/vistas that you got last week are probably on one of the other 2 borderlands maps.
Walnuts, Basil and Salt all do not show up in my Discovery Tab at all. This is at 0 cooking with only the very beginning recipes known. So to all you people who keep saying that there’s nothing wrong, there definitely something bugged. And those are just the three I saw. Hopefully a patch will be forthcoming soon to fix this problem.
P.S.: Yes, I learned cooking on a fresh character JUST to test this very issue. Stop saying nothing is wrong.
Walnuts won’t show as far as I can see, because the food recipes using them have to be bought with karma and the dye recipes using them unlock automatically.
Salt and Basil should be shown if they are in your inventory (not your bank)…if they are not, then that does sound like a bug, since at level 0 in the craft there is no way you could have learned all their recipes.
Could I suggest attaching a screenshot with the discovery tab and your inventory both open showing the salt/basil in the inventory but not in the discovery pane so that ArenaNet have something to work from to see that this isn’t just confusion about how the discovery pane works (which has been the case for a lot of the previous reports).
