Is that the spawned weapon? Does ANet even have the letters Q and A in their alphabet?
yes its the spawned weapon and it must be broken or something..
a single skill that hits for 8k on heavy armor in PVP where you don’t have food/buffs etc etc and low ferocity.. something is wrong with that skill..
The guardian did not want to tell but he even says it hits 12k on most classes.
that’s insane for a PET!!!heavy armor/light armor/medium armor makes absolutely zero difference when it comes to how much damage you take. Its about which amulet you are using, not what armor you have that determines how resilient you are.
Class weight does effect base armor.
This boon would be great when timed to weaken a venom thief’s condition burst or even soft cc bursts (cripple etc) in choke points.
I think having an anti condition boon would be cool. I don’t particularly like this idea tho because it’s use would be spammy. You wouldn’t necessarily have to time it well because you can’t fully predict when your opponent is going to put conditions you don’t want on you. (Obviously you don’t want any conditions, but in every situation some are worse than others). I recommend an anti condition duration boon. 10-15% condi duration reduction under the effect of the boon tops. This boon isn’t so OP that the system would need reworking nor is it so strong that condi players will cry. Obviously, this will be very well balanced in wvw, with the insane condi duration foods like Koi cake. In pvp, it should be fine as well, as long as it isn’t like 100% uptime or something stupid. I really like the idea of a very strong boon, such as this, that becomes more and less effective based on skill level (timing).
I think I five man squad of any sort (of only rangers) can’t work. You have no AoE hard cc and your damage bombs on an enemy group would be pitiful.
Isn’t the wiki community run anyway? Even if it was lying don’t complain to Anet.
Guardians are hard to initiate on because of aegis and weapon based shields. Most dps guards run sword focus meditations. They can easily block the thief’s initiation and chase it down with judges int and sword 2.
This thread is hilarious. I have virtually perma swiftness of my guardian. What more do I need?
That’s great! Now if only staff and shouts and boon duration gear was good for solo play, where mobility actually matters…
Meditations and sword if you are solo.
All disable is countered with stability. It’s nothing uniquely weak about guards. Don’t complain about it.
Over said it perfectly.
Which is your back btw. So it doesn’t take a lot of skill, which is why it’s because of your incompetence.
The skill is in predicting an invisible theifs location.
Thieves are consistently kill able on all classes (maybe not ranger unless condi). You just need to know how to fight one. As people have said, use your cleave and aoe when they stealth. If you die to a thief, it’s usually because of your own incompetence .
Bottom line: almost every weapon is good at the right times with the right playstyle.
Countering condition players is just as doable as countering zerks. It just requires a different skill set, one that the game doesn’t teach, but one learns over time. People complain that they can’t clear condis, but that’s your fault. You need to work a clear into your build. It’s easily doable.
Lol. Warrior offhand mace bad? The knockdown wrecks. Necro axe has crazy vulnerable stacking and the 2 hits like a truck and the 3 is an aoe cripple. I’m curious as to what you define as good weapons lol.
I’ll admit the immobilize is easily cleansed. Still what do you have to say about a guardians gap closers? Which it has on every melee weapon but mace, which is ok since mace is more of a defensive based weapon.
You have a lot of weapon based gap closers and immobilize, thats usually enough.
Those mean little if you can’t stay on the target.
Gap closers and immobilize help you stay on target @@
Umm, that would break the game dawg.
Also, there is such a thing as being outplayed by a kiter, it happens.
You have a lot of weapon based gap closers and immobilize, thats usually enough.

I’m pretty sure everyone already knows about them. You clearly do not understand the issues.
What’s the issue? If it’s mobility he gave you the answer.
You already have perma protection dog. Nothing to complain about imo.
Power necro is viable for all parts of the game. I run knight/cav wellomancer in wvw. 30 10 0 0 30. It wrecks.
Lots of classes have long cool down elites. Necro elites rock. You just need to learn how and when to use them. Lich can be used to double damage of ticking wells, plague has crazy aoe blind, and flesh golem has the crowd control of Venezuelan police.
I noticed you said shouts for pvp. I think you meant “stances”.
As I understand, if you use save yourselves, you still effectively have Perma vigor.
Ya just about all guardian main hands that aren’t ranged have gap closers. As for dps guard not able to beat thieves, you must be using bad weapons. Most dps guards use sword focus. The focus shield wrecks thieves.
They should add guardian symbol utilities. Similar to necro’s, but more support based, while maybe doing minor damage. That would be really cool in my opinion.
As a guardian, even if you aren’t condition, well timed burns and crowd control should beat a thief every time, or at least force them to pull off. As for necro’s, necro’s(especially condi) are a hard counter to guardians. That’s just the way the game is and it isn’t particularly unfair in my opinion. The game needs a class to tear apart supports, and necros fit the role.
First of all, all classes have their different applications for spvp. Typically, at least at mid to low level (not meaning to insult you but you said that you have only done a few tourneys), elementalists and guardians are bad at 1v1s. That being said, staff ele’s are amazing for off-pointing in midfights, and a good one can typically help hold mid point all game. Also, bunker elementalists are crazy tank, especially with a 0 0 10 30 30 cantrip cleric build. Elementalists can heal crazy amounts already if they trait into it, which is why they don’t have the new grandmaster trait for healing applying to them. All of this being said, I’m not saying that ele isnt one of the weaker classes in the game at the moment (for spvp). Also, in the current state of the game (spvp) necro’s are broken, which is what you are reacting to, and you shouldn’t base what all classes should be like off of that.
Conditions’ have internal base damage, meaning if you have 0 conditions damage, they still do damage. Direct damage scales off power. If you have 0 power you do 0 direct damage.
What? Are you serious? You aren’t serious with the 0 power thing right?
Also please tell me how you get 0 power in guild wars 2?
The way direct damage scales, one needs base power. Conditions already have base damage without condition damage from gear and traits. So you don’t start with base condi. Obviously, 0 power is unobtainable, I was just explaining why one has base power but not base condi.

Hey I got one for you since we are just throwing things around!
At level 80 you have 916 power to start!!!!!!!
At level 80 you have 0 condition damage!!!!If I told you I was giving you almost 1000 of any stat for free you would take it.
That 916 power to start means you put 916 points somewhere else.
Say you like 2000 power in your build that means you can start moving points somewhere else earlier because you got 916 power for free.
Obviously the game isn’t balanced around this at all.
Are you sure it isn’t?
Last I checked any other rune gives you 165 of its primary stat whereas a condition damage rune gives you 183. Why do you think that is?
So you are telling me that they don’t balance the game around 916 power to start? Maybe they should take away the 916 power and everyone starts at 0 I bet everyone would love that. I bet 916 power to start factors into balance because it factors into everyones build even if they don’t realize it.
A condition build wants to reach 2000 condition damage he has to invest 2000 stat points toward condition damage. A power build has to invest 1084 stat points. Everyone knows that power> all offensive stats it is the most important offensive stat when building direct damage but you seem to imply 916 power just doesn’t matter. Ok.
Condition damage is the only offensive stat that starts at 0. The base critical damage is 150% so even if you don’t invest in critical damage you will always do more then base damage when you crit even if you don’t want to. You start with 4% critical chance but you say its a fluff stat.
You forgetting condition ignore armor,I be happy with 0 points at lvl 80 and ignoring armor with my power hits…
Not forgotten just not mentioned because I brought up 916 power because people are saying that condition builds only need to invest in 1 stat when power gets a 916 point headstart for stat points. The 2 just can’t be compared point for point but people keep trying so I threw 916 points in the ring.
You are correct so since direct damage and condition act different why are people still trying to compare them as if they act the same? They don’t kill the same, they aren’t effected by defenses the same but still people keep using the argument as if they are the same stats.
Apples and oranges tbh.
Conditions’ have internal base damage, meaning if you have 0 conditions damage, they still do damage. Direct damage scales off power. If you have 0 power you do 0 direct damage.
Guards are in a great spot. Say what you wish, but their boon support is second to none. No damage you say? Meditation pvp zerk build guys, hits like a truck. If you aren’t satisfied you aren’t playing it right. It’s not an easy class, but it’s very rewarding.
if that link doesnt work, this will: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7JQ_TD1jxo&feature=youtu.be
When a thief uses basilisk venom against someone using perplexity runes it has a very high chance to apply confusion. In addition, if the target is a warrior running distracting strikes, that will add another four stacks of confusion to the bug. (The thief applies 9 stacks to the target running the runes (the confusion says the source is the target himself)). Video: http://youtu.be/p7JQ_TD1jxo
