What is this used for? Can I replace it with better back gear without losing any of my functionality as a Engineer? I hope that I am not stuck with this because of needed tools.
I agree with OP, chest rewards are garbage! For people doing events with a chest, it is a slap in the face to open the chest and get blues and greens. I have tried doing those events multiple times and it is always the same result… junk.
The Plinx nerf just poured salt into the wound. My god, it it too much to ask to leave an event chain alone where people are having fun?
Waypoint travel cost, and precursor cost itself, is preventing me from ever hoping to buy a precursor. I know that one will never drop for me, that is just my luck.
The high cost of materials has put a grinding halt on my characters leveling up their crafting.
I too, along with countless others have recently experienced a drastic drop in loot, I run MF gear and use consumable boosters too.
Something is going on with DR in Orr, because I used to do way better even before I bought MF gear.
I have also found a significant reduction in ecto’s salavaged.
They have either nerfed something big time, or there is a bug in the system somewhere. Either way, I am fed up.
No one wants a level 1 for FoTM, so I doubt that I will ever have a chance to get in there.
Why would people help someone else when the rewards are nerfed to hell and waypoint costs are way to expensive? Anet probably does not even realize that they are killing their game enjoyment for a lot of people, I am not sure if they even care.
They need to either add a lot more spawns, from different locations for monsters, or nerf the friendly AOE, just for those events (I bet that goes over like a lead balloon ). Many times I do not get a single drop with my ranger because the AOE players have the mobs down too quickly, often before I can hit more than a couple of times with my Ranger.
Another solution might be to have the chance getting a drop from someone that does just one hit and someone that hits for much more damage equal.
Enemies spawning at 6 different points at the same time would reduce the AOE per group since players would not have to gang up on one spawn point.
Another good solution is to have more big events happening like that all at the same time, giving people a choice.
I absolutely love what the patch has done for exotics and legendary precursors! They are something that normal players will soon have access to instead of elitists. I also thing that the drop rate is slightly better, and I think that was long overdue and most welcomed.
Now if only these lower tier crafting materials would settle down, so I can start crafting again.
I really enjoyed the final event rewards, after such a long and drawn out battle, it was welcome to see some good items. I have played daily since pre-release and this is my first exotics that I did not have to buy myself. Even though I did not get my precursor myself, I saw that the prices are coming down, and I hope to be able to buy one soon. These are exactly the kind of rewards that the players want and crave. I had a great feeling of satisfaction after opening the chest, I am glad that I decided to stick around for the end. I was tempted to quit several times, because the actual monster drop rate is horrible in lost shores.
Thank you Anet! I feel that I might now, someday be able to afford a legendary precursor because of the drop in prices. The prices before the event were so ridiculous, that only elitists or gold buyers stood a chance to actually get one. It is also good to see exotic prices drop too, now I can afford to get my level 80 character properly equipped ! My only complaints are that the actual monster drops need drastically improved, and the damage output of the monsters needs to be toned down a bit, those beasts wiped our whole group several times and I thought people would just start quitting.
I was quite pleased with the reward at the end! Even though I was not lucky enough to get a legendary precursor, I thought the reward justified fighting for two hours in hell.
I am very pleased to see the precursor prices have finally started to come within my grasp, now lets just hope they keep dropping so that they stay that way.
This is the first time since the beginning that I have gotten an exotic, and I am thrilled, especially with the 20 slot bag!
new build…self invite broke
crashed with everyone invite please
I loved the rewards! The battle was a bloodbath, our team wiped several times, I had most of my armor damaged, so I finished the quest chain with my armor removed to offset the high repair bill. I did not get one drop from those monsters, but the chest was worth it. People stayed on the ground to wait for a rez because it was simply too far to travel to re-join group. I almost quit a couple of times, especially near the end because of the one hit kills and the sucky drops, but I am glad that I stayed with it.
Great area, very difficult enemies, they hit extremely hard! I have tried 2 different characters and the drops are horrible. Without sufficient drop rate, I do not see this area getting much attention like Orr. I spent over 7 hours between 2 characters and at the end, I had maybe 8 or 10 junk items in my inventory.
Bottom line: Beautiful map, but drops really suck badly!
I was leveling my level 27 Engineer and when I was supposed to advance to level 28, my experience bar just reset and a game message told me that I was now level 27…. Again!
I also did not get a skill point and did not get a trait point.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a patch related bug?
I filed a support ticket.
T3 materials are just as bad, I had to postpone my Armorer trade today until the prices come down
After doing it again, I managed to get it with just one down, I rallied right away and continued. The real difficulty is not the mobs themselves, but the AOE circles! They are almost overwhelming, reminds me of the Arah dungeon!
Good advise above about NPC’s.
Thank you Jeffery! I will load up my pistol and sceptre and use it as an alternative.
I know that my mistake was not pulling, I was frustrated with all the previous deaths and I just dove in head first at the boss, I just wanted him dead.
I am using a Mesmer and switching between Greatsword and staff. The shear number easily overwhelm me, the NPC’s get wiped. Also, whats with all the red circles? Those just make things worse.
I made it past the part where he completed the ritual. I struggled to get over the bridge to get to the boss, I walked right through probably 20 bad guys, they did not attack until I attacked the boss, then things went downhill real fast.

I would avoid people that charge like the plague, if someone won’t help out of kindness, then I would wait as long as it takes to do it. The problem is that some people will actually pay them. This ruins the game.
This quest has got to be the stupidest thing that I have ever experienced. I ruined too much armor to try this silly story line again.
Are these legal to use in GW2? What about macro keys that I might assign?
I have a medical condition with my hands and I find jumping almost impossible for me to do, making my maps impossible to complete. Storing macros for jump and other tasks would help me a lot, but I do not wish to get banned for using one. Has there been any official response from Anet about these keyboards?
I am looking (possibly) at the Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E. 7 gaming keyboard.

I think things are fine as is and need to be left alone. At least for my ranger, I find the lower level areas still challenging.
Try using white weapons and blue armor to make it more difficult. If anything, make a hard mode like GW1.
I second this, I have been frustrated by this from the beginning.
This is a waste of time to try and do without help. I spent an hour trying to kill the imps and put out fires but they spawn faster than you can eliminate them, everytime I thought I was making progress, they respawned ! Of course I asked for help, but no one was around to help. These things should be easier if only one person is working on it.
I never tried, I hate jumping! I will never complete my maps because of the difficulty in completing some of these jumps.
Is there really a big difference between the following runes?
Superior rune of the pirate
Superior rune of scavenging
Does magic find actually help increase the drops of rare items?
I noticed on the Scavenging runes, it also says something about better rare drops.
If you are attacked and interrupted while chopping, you could actually end up using your weapon to chop, which will result in ruined logs. Happened to me.
Thank you for the info.
Seriously? Why not just zoom back in? I happen to like the zoom and I know many others do too. That is why it is adjustable. Also, after the FOV change, I still think a slider should be added to give everyone a chance to set it the way they like it.
I noticed that the Karma merchant does not have the recipe for the exotic Shaman insignia’s, do these even exist at all anywhere?
@ Esturk, If everyone followed your idea, this game would be much better off. I hope there are others are like you… You rock!
I would like to see an automatic grouping tool too. This game is getting like GW1, I have a level 80 toon, but I do not want to be excluded on my lower level toons.
The problem that I was having with this is that on every single login attempt, I would have to re authorize from my phone, has this been fixed? Once the security key is sent to the phone, your computer should save this key so it does not have to be entered again unless a different computer is used. Also, I play GW2 from 2 locations at different times, so hopefully I would not have to repeat this on either machine once the codes were set.
If I had more reliable cell reception, all this would not bother me.
This “punishing PVE players” thing is confusing me a bit..
I guess I’m doing something wrong then because I have never changed server or felt the need to.
What am I missing here?
You are missing the fact that by not being able to change servers for 1 week, it makes playing with friends on different servers very unpleasant. I really thought that Anet learned its lesson from GW1 about seperating PVE from PVP.
Why couldn’t they have implemented a system where if you have played WvW recently, there would be a cooling off time before you could change servers?
Why not allow server changes every 24 hours only to players that have not done WvW recently?
Instead, the rest of us are punished and have to wait a week to change servers.
Unless Anet figures out a way to make both crowds happy, this game is going to spiral downward into the mess that GW1 was in with the PVE vs PVP people.
Truthfully, neither group should get short changed, Anet should come up with a solution to appease both groups.
I hope the drops were not nerfed, I agree with others that if I am to ever have a tiny chance to get an exotic precursor at the ridiculous prices, that place is my only hope.
I am really glad that they fixed the mobs though, before the warriors and elementalists spammed the spawn point and made it impossible for most other people to get any drops. It is better now, but still could use a few tweeks.

I like the improvement, like others though, a slider with a bit more would be great for my monitor.
Awesome news! Hopefully the bow skills will be fixed so I can really start to use my bows.
What I have noticed when using it, is that even if I am facing the enemy, I sometimes end up moving in another direction all together instead of backwards.
When did they reduce the shortbow damage? Is that reduction for PVP or PVE? As a ranger myself, I am disappointed with the short and longbow skills, I seem to have better results with an axe.
awesome, thank you!
Does anyone have a picture of "The traveler’s Orrian bow of rage? If so, please post a picture.
I too think the cost of teleport for a level 80 character is exorbitant, I walk as much as possible too. I don’t mind a small fee, but it is silly to pay so much to travel among points that I have unlocked.
Will all of the special skills that come with these costumes continue to work after the Halloween event is over?

I too am trying to disable mine, I can’t justify getting locked out of my account because of poor cell service, it would not have been so bad if it would remembered my computer.
Same luck here, after the nerf, nothing!
I really don’t see why it could not have stayed as is, there are many places in Orr like that.
A question about the new mobile security.

Can this be fixed to where it sets a cookie on the computer and only needs activation if an unrecognized computer tries to access my account? My cell service is spotty at home and I would not want to get locked out of the game simply because of a poor signal. I think I will disable it for the time being, this is a great idea btw.

I better wait to buy one to see if they will nerf it.
I agree, I would pay for it outright, but I won’t spend my money gambling for a one in a million shot. Keys should drop more btw…
Figures, can’t allow people to enjoy themselves can we?
It used to be enjoyable and fun to take on mob after mob of skeletons, candy corn elementals, spiders etc…. Not its a total complete waste of time chasing down the portals, which disappear after 1 or 2 single enemies. If this is a bug, please fix it, if this was nerfed, then I am waiting for the next big let down. Now to find something better to do…..
Very upset!
That is why I will never use gems on keys….sorry to hear that man.
Mistake above^ I have had only 1 key drop since head start, and I play every day.
