Well, Summoner is an extremely generic idea for a profession, whereas Chronomancer ties in perfectly with Mesmer. Summoner could be made to fit with every profession that relies on “pure” magic (Guardian, Revenant, Mesmer, Elementalist, Necromancer, Ranger) and then Engineer, because it basically just says that the profession creates AI to kill things as its main “thing”.
I dunno, maybe we get some kind of uber overcharged version of a mesmer’s portals.

Grenths Call
Execute up to 3 downed enemys with less then 50% health instantly, you gain double the normal “on death” lifeforce + 5 stacks might for every enemy executed this way.
Having a skill for outright executing enemies would be so necro.
Unfortunatly, it wouldn’t work so well in PvE at it’s fundamental level.

The easy answer is to have traits in the elite line that give some strong defensive and offensive buffs while the break bar is up. 30% decreased damage, more raw power, and maybe make it benefit from some (Some!) of the same traits as Death Shroud.
I really don’t think we’re gonna get it, though.

Our death shroud F5 will toggle it as a defiance bar.

It’d definitely be strong, but that would be incredibly uninspired.
I actually think it would be VERY inspired. With how pinbally and escape-less we are right now, having a defiance bar would be kitten ed interesting. Especially with traits that could, potentially, allow necros to say… Take significantly less damage while defiance is active. Now instead of burning necros traditionally, you have to dump ALL your CC on them, while they may very well be generating more, before you can do significant harm. We’d be facetanky as hell, and well… That’s kindof our thing, apparently.
Unstoppable and unyielding, just like the very thing we claim to control. We’d be like the terminator. But we’d still have to be careful, since we’d be as vulnerable as a current necro without DS when that bar breaks… If not more.

Good case scenario but it doesn’t match our utilities/traits, they pointed that changes would be made but that was more precise on signets. I just wonder of how they would implement it. Would it prevent DS draining it self out? If CC,damage and natural drain stack then it’s GG.
Make it an F2, maybe. I dunno, it would fit the so-called design of necro. We’d be stomping machines, and kiiiinda scary. Maybe make it where it doesn’t actually drain unless you get hit with CC. Stability on crack… Would make FiTG kinda useless, though.

But then, I don’t think Anet would ever give us something so good.

Here’s an idea.
New Utility (Maybe trait? Dunno how that would work)
“Bloody Resolve”
What:Gives Resistance for 5 seconds.
All incoming direct damage will be converted to bleeds, dealing their full damage over 10 seconds.
Why: Serves as an immunity, something necromancers could really use, and synergizes well with our excellent condition control. Get five or so scrubs whacking away at you, take something like 80 stacks of bleed, and then toss that on one of them. Make them hate their life. Has counterplay, since you can simply choose to not attack the necromancer, can remove the resistance boon, or power through it and just get your damage later… But with the understanding that you may get something in return.
Death Nova
What: In addition to current effects, casts Epidemic, using the caster as the initial target, when the caster is downed.
Why: I have to suggest at least ONE OP change, right? And c’mon, it’d be cool as hell.
Necros are, currently, eminently focusable, why not use that to our advantage? Yeah, you CAN focus the necro but… Do you really want to? No. No you probably don’t. Instead of being a turtle, a jackrabbit or a chameleon… Let’s be a porcupine.

I know I’m super-late to the party, but hey. I think I’ll drop a couple of ideas down…
What if necros could transfer lifeforce to health? An F2, or an in-DS skill called “Dark Equillibrium” or something like that, which equalizes your health and life-force percentages. Would make the mechanic work more like the second healthbar it’s ‘supposed’ to be. And hey, why not be able to do the reverse and drain health to fill our DS?
Also, I don’t mind being an attrition class, but we could at least stand to be good at it. An important part of attrition is being able to gain ‘momentum’, especially since this game doesn’t have things like mana bars to burn out.
I think we could ALSO use some means of not only mitigating, but actively punishing enemies bursting and focusing us. A traited shadow-aura that applies fear when struck, activated by the necro taking too much damage all at once rather than on health thresholds.
I’d also, personally, say it would be nice to get something like…
A trait that lets us steal a percentage of incoming healing on targets effected by some of our conditions.
