Just out of curiosity, what makes a dialogue bad? English is not my first language but I am good enough to understand the stuff being said. Aside from that, I have not encountered any dialogue that I thought was bad. I listen to a conversation, when it’s done I move on with the related story/event. Not once have I gone “OMG that was terible!”
Maybe someone could show me an example of a bad dialogue in game?
It’s about reading/hearing a conversation between two people and being able to believe that these two characters could actually exist in the real world. The tone most cutscene dialogue takes is very hard to take seriously, because it sounds stilted and fake. It sounds more like two people reading a script for the first time, rather than two people having an actual conversation.
And that sort of thing usually boils down to how the script is written. The words chosen, their inflection, that sort of thing.
There’s more to good fiction than just telling the reader about events that happen.
Thanks, I guess I’m probably just not listening enough to English speakers in a conversation to come to a conclusion like that. Reading is my forte, but not listening or speaking. But even then, I still don’t think it’s as terrible as people make it out to be.

Laufey.5129Well, I like it a lot! Looks really cool
And yes, I’d say more customization options are always welcome, but not a priority for me right now. In the future, that would be nice to see, though.
Thanks, really appreciate the compliment! I have no doubt more customization options will be available in the expansion packs, but I guess giving some ideas now is always better than when they have everything planned out later.
Yeah it’s really funny… and nicely done on the developers part. I went in for the first time feeling all nervous and stuff, but turns out I was on a rampage at the end of the match! lol
For example cherry trees look quite magnificent when they are blossoming so the idea of having flowers as decoration in the hairstyles isn’t that far fetched.
I agree, I really want to achieve the beautiful/poetic effect but it’s also quite difficult. I tried it with a male Sylvari with plum blossoms as my theme, turns out I got reactions from both ends of the spectrum. My RL friend was horrified, but a random stranger I met while exploring really liked it.
I wish we can have more species of plants/trees to tinker around with.

I had that feeling too, but didn’t realize it until after a long while lol. It was an odd sensation when I first entered LA, feeling that human civilization again. The lion statue in particular gave me the chills. In short I pretty much felt like how a regular Sylvari would feel walking into a place like this for the first time.
Oh and hello Skyrim player, your pal is a Norn, not a Nord.

Question, does Illusionary Persona (Shattering illusions apply the shatter effect on you as well) require myself to be standing next to the enemy for it to work? I know Distortion (F4) doesn’t, but what about Mind Wrack, Cry of Frustration and Diversion?
Help! Im 63 and I can't seem to unlock Dagger/Torch/Warhorn skills.

You do not have to attack with your off-hand. Just attack and kill things with your main-hand, but with your off-hand equipped as well.
Feels like a real sniping weapon now, but I noticed my clones are still attacking slow. It appears that they changed the responsiveness on your character, but not your clones holding the greatsword.
I would laugh and then cry if somewhere down the line, this Tengu business is nothing more than a “new dungeon and explorable zone” to convince the Emperor and his NPC soldiers to aid us in the struggle against the dragons.
Not sure if I can post pictures but here I go anyway:

The letter “E” with a line above is appearing in every mob property, and a similarly weird looking letter “A” with a tail is appearing in my NPC thank you letters whenver a name or some kind of greeting is mentioned. Did my game somehow become corrupt or is it a known bug?
