Basically the title says it all.
Everytime i use ’’retreat’’ to move faster, my character randomly shoots whatever mob is in my line of sight, turning me into combat state, and making me move even slower than before.
How do i prevent this? it’s really too annoying and causing me to stop using retreat, because right now, it’s useless.

If they change (alot) i might purchase HoT again.
If not, i’m awaiting my refund already, and won’t look back.

Yeah, actually it is. You see, I’m enjoying the game, and you’re trying to tell me that I’m not allowed to enjoy the game. That seems a little arrogant. I’m enjoying the game and I think it’s great. How could you tell me that my experience is wrong? Am I having bad wrong fun?
Also, there’s a big difference between progressing your character and having grind. Every expansion in every MMO in existence just about with perhaps a couple of exceptions have added vertical levels and vertical gear in order for your character to improve. That wasn’t considered a grind either necessarily, because the idea of advancing your character is a concept that very nearly every RPG of any kind in existence has followed.
However, in this case, Guild Wars 2 is presenting horizontal instead of vertical progression so you don’t have to grind out any new gear that wasn’t already available in the core game. Just have to get some new talents, but that’s all part of horizontal progression. And for that matter, they said it from day one of the expansion set announcement that there was going to be horizontal progression. That means, by the word progression, that you were going to have to advance your character a little more. This should not have come as a surprise to anyone.

Every cutscene froze my PC for a min or two aswell, but eventually it worked.
I’m giving up, this is more like Dark Souls online then GW2, it’s a horrible experience to try and play this solo.
The shift in game style from the core game is like day and night, you go from a fun, solo casual, game to hardcore, group only in a second.
This x1000, they draw us in with the fun, solo, casual game then drop this bomb on us and we are all like WTF…
Game companies need to get use to the fact that these days most gamers are casual gamers and that little group of hardcore people will speak up, then they change it for them and lose their biggest player base.

How to ruin a good game, i don’t want to be forced to group with people, and solo mode is gone.
Don’t forget that a happy player usually doesn’t bother to let that know.
Unhappy player will make sure everyone and his dog knows he’s unhappy.
Even tho i’m also not too happy with HoT, take the score with a grain of salt.
If what you say is true, every release ever made would have a low meta score, your logic is flawed. I dont agree with the reviews mind you, just saying.
It’s just a minority that votes, shouldn’t even care for the score.
The only reason the score is going up now because some players are spamming 10/10 to make it look better, it was as low as a 3.0 score yesterday.
Even if the score is a 10/10, or 1/10 average, the scores are flawed as just a minority has voted, and usually 99% of them are unhappy players, they just rate a 0 or 1 without any real reason given, and a ‘’white knight’’ gives a 10, without any reason given. (A happy player remains playing, while an unhappy player wants to let people know how he feels, or just to release some salt.)
If i was having fun on HoT, i wouldn’t be browsing the forums, just an example.

ummmm this has nothing to do with the topic… Did you even READ my post? You can’t make a war room for WvW because one of the ingredients you have to use is something you can only buy from the war room…

The guildhall (preview) in Lion’s Arch might have the war room which could allow the purchase.
No… it doesn’t… The War Room isn’t in there. The Guild Initiative headquarters is exactly as he stated “a preview” It does not contain any unlockable or upgrade features from guild halls only the basics… Otherwise why would guilds be paying a fortune for these upgrades…
Fair enough.

2 char with 100% map complete and 11k AP only got 14 points to spend?
That must be some bug.
1 character at 100%, little over 2500 AP and i have 22 to spend.
Have you checked out the sound settings? In-game, hit the [Esc] key. Go to [Options]. Click the speaker icon on the left side of the window (I think it’s the third from the top). There are several volume sliders there.
Then I don’t know what kind of computer you’re running. Sound cards and even integrated sound on a motherboard will often come with Windows drivers and a program to manage the settings. On my computer, I have an equalizer that I can adjust. Perhaps you have a similar option if you dig around in the settings and installed programs. If you can lower the high end, it might not be as bad.
I’m not that experienced with the equalizer but i’ll give it a shot.

As the title says, i’m very sensitive to high sounds, the new maps are driving me crazy!
I assume it’s ment to be some sort of bird sound, but it’s so high i can’t stand it.
Is there a sound option i could disable to avoid hearing this?
It’s actually forcing me to play without sound, or not playing at all, as i can’t stand it.
Playing fully muted isn’t that fun.
Online banking option, it’s instant.
The base game sidenote is mainly for F2P players, it doesn’t charge you extra.
I don’t think that my network is the issue. I’ve honestly never had a problem connecting to the game with the network I’m on.
There was a windows 10 update today, might have somehow affected it.
Did you try to disable firewalls or exclude GW2?

If you’re on windows 10, it’s possible windows defender is blocking the game, even if you turned off defender, it will turn itself back on after a few days.
Windows defender might cause that by scanning the game.
Try making exception for GW2.

And while, yes it might seem unfair, it is worth pointing out that issues like these can end up costing ArenaNet a fair bit of money, thus most company have a rather strict policy about this.
They tend to be able to work it out with a ticket though, so ask your friend to submit that and wait for a reply from them.
He did but he’s not being taken serious, hence i ask Micheal to review it once more.
Friend can supply solid proof that he’s authorized.
So, my friend has been playing for 20 days like me, he recently purchased the pre-order of HoT with his mother’s credit card.
He made a small typo in the adress, which caused them not to match, and he has been suspended.
Now, this isn’t such a big deal, however, he gets no chance to supply proof to show he was authorized.
Instead, he’s being told to completely start over, losing his 500 armorsmith, gear and everything else he worked on so far.
I think this is a bit harsh no?
He doesn’t want the refund, he wants the purchase, and ofcourse, keep playing his account.

Pretty please? I think this system is really unfair, and demotivating for him to start over, what if you ban him again and he lose his progress again?
I’m also sad to lose my friend, so i’m begging you, please review him, and / or give him a chance to proof innocence.
