The only reason the event fails often is because it seems nobody is aware of the Enrage that happens once 1 of them dies.
You have to kill them both at the same time to ensure a smooth run, if you quickly go ’’solo’’ 1 side you’re gutting over the other side as their Wyvern will enrage, reducing incoming damage and increases outgoing damage.
I have found that the DR kicks in way to fast in Lake Doric for this type of farm to be of any real use, I personally find my drop rates in LD going down to near nothing after about 20-30 mins, I don’t know how some people are saying they farmed it for hours?
I find it strange that some people seem to get loot from 1 map even after farming it for hours, and others get nothing after 20 mins, seems DR doesn’t affect everyone the same.
Thats simple. Because everyone knows diminishing returns only effect events, not mobs.
Don’t talk about the concept when you don’t appear to understand it fully.
Diminishing returns only applies to events. Not individual mob kills.
Maybe you should do research yourself.

After doing this for about 6 hrs the other day while working on a painting. I will have to say this is categorically false. I’m one of those people that measure how much loot i get over time because i always have my bag clean once its full, its extremely constant, and while the wiki may say that. Results are proving otherwise. The wiki says a lot of things that are incorrect. It’s not really a source. Nor is it exactly what i mean. It seems we are on two different pages.
It depends on how you define diminishing returns as well. I’m not using the wiki’s statement, but the actual concept. The rewards for events get worse and worse the more you continue to do events. While dungeons its a once a day chest, and then a static reward for further runs. I wouldn’t call the diminishing, but thats just me.
Doing a 6 hour long sample doesn’t really help, do a 3 hour sample note the loot, then do another 3 hour sample right after, see the difference.
In 45min of leather farm i already hit DR.

I spam clicked so fast that i broke it.
Cloud in inventory that can’t be donated.
Lost count on the amount i’ve found in fractals.

They can be obtained from alot of chests/boxes, just very rare.

I have bought the core game (long ago) and have not played in a long time. I am thinking of coming back and see the new things that are in the HoT expansion.

Uhm, Gliding isn’t close to flying at all, and doesn’t offer the same freedom, not even near.
Movement while gliding is so limited, i don’t even see how you compare Aion’s free flying that allows aerial combat to this rusty gliding.
I much rather had the option to freely fry around and save countless of frustrating minutes trying to capture a updraft.
Just await the reply from support, they’re usually very fast.
If the item really is destroyed, they’re likely to give you a new one.

These 3 bugs, especially the first one should have been fixed long ago, dying because of random immobiles isn’t fun.
Having to do maps all over every time, for achievements, isn’t fun.
Ending up at bugged events after participating a hour, and wasted time before on resets, also, totally no fun.
More bugs that aren’t in tracker:
Tangled Depths, Shreal Backstab will chase any Moa you attack nearby, cuasing him to lose his pattern and bug events. (can be fixed by pulling a moa to him and make him chase the moa, while moa chases you, to the event spot)
Tangled Depths, Nokta the Wanderer gets stuck fighting trolls and spiders after completing the Matriarch chain event, while being stuck, the next matriarch chain event will bug out, giving no event rewards because the event isn’t really active, while Nokta does follow the pattern and spawn Matriarch again.
Tangled Depths, Gulper Fish in Rata Novus appears on the surface next to the water.
Tangled Depths, Legendary Chak Gerent can die to conditions while burrowed.
Tangled Depths, Massive upscale on ‘’Lure the beetles near mushrooms to calm them by releasing spores from nodules’’ at Teku Nuhoch.
Anywhere, Mini pet keeps disappearing and need to manually enable again.
Anywhere, After down state and being revived, you’re sometimes unable to use skills for a few seconds, tend to result in another death.
Out of all, please…

For some reason sometimes if you ignore the map closure notice and don’t jump maps the map wont close.
Today i was in Auric Basin, 5m into the meta and the closure notice poped up, there was a solid 20ish 30ish people around me doing the meta chain, so we all mostly ignored it and kept going.
We went and finished the meta, then taxied people in for the Tarir meta and finished the whole thing.
It takes a hour before it will close itself and force kick everyone out, maybe you got lucky on time.
And still no word of Anet.
And yet another question on reddit about changing crafting disciplines got answered by a developer…
But topics with real concerns that actually make people quit are getting ignored.
Priorities…
I would recommend a Writ of Experience each time you reach full exp.
So you atleast get 5% of it back to use on another character.
Auto loot has a huge range, if you pay close attention you’ll notice you get the loots right before the death of VW cinematic happens.
Open your achievements tab and check the ’’Daily’’ achievements, you’ll see the reset timer ticking there.
Since map closing has been stupid since mega-servers came into existence one has to assume Anet don’t care how badly players are affected by it.
Seeing they ignore this topic, yet spend time to mess around on silly topics, or reddit.
I can only assume you’re right and Anet just slaps us in the face with this system.
Dungeon reward are nerfed and no longer worthwhile, also it has been confirmed that we will not get any new dungeons anymore.
Fractals have 100 levels now, and has been changed to individual runs, so no longer required to do 3 maps + 1 boss in a row.
I don’t see a reason for people not to use elite specs, if one has HoT, he will use it.
You’ll enjoy Dragon Hunter.
I suggest you to do some research on HoT maps before starting there and ragequit out of frustration on day 1. (Mobs are alot tougher and the map layouts aren’t that casual friendly)
For PvP, they got leagues now, you might enjoy it.
It’s the ERA of money, adding convenient features only cost them money and don’t directly earn them money. (Because they don’t realise a happy customer is a spending customer)
You can tell a huge difference between GW1 polishing and GW2 polishing.

Some classes, like bunker mes, or trap DH, are just too viable vs everything and therefore require a nerf.
“Too viable” is a weird way to say 0 Dragon Hunters in the 80 player roster of the Pro League (outside More Guns Than Roses trying 2 War + 1 DH + 1 Thief troll composition last Monday in the first match against Rank 55 Dragons just to be rolfstomped).
The issues with the balance are that Arenanet doesn’t proper balance things; instead, when they have a headache with any part of the game they just remove it (in example: water combat, dungeons, WvW matchup sub forum and now celestial amulets). But removing some amulets in PvP will not fix de unbalances in the skills which are the root of the problem. So became aware that in 1 vs 1 roaming (if that still exist) probably you will NEVER be able to beat a good Tempest or Chrono due the cele stats still exists and Arenanet thinks that they “fixed” the problem.
I don’t play in such high league myself, but as DH i can kill any class in a matter of seconds, place traps and pull them in is just silly OP so i understand they get nerfed. (traps getting a nerf)
Also Bow skill 2 can crit up to 10k’s in PvP.
No idea why players don’t use it in high leagues, but i’m not ‘’pro enough’’ to judge.
I even obtained a 21 win streak as DH, but i guess my teams carried me.
I’m amazed they didn’t even adress this to the next patch notes.
I’m not the first to complain about this, and i’m not the first that will refrain of playing HoT due to it.
So why is this not being addressed, at all?
They mostly balance with an eye on PvP.
A necro doesn’t dominate as much as other classes, while it may seem strong…

While in TD, doing META events with a squad of 20+ will get the map closed, removing my participation bonus, and my motivation?
Why are all HoT maps so poorly designed to close when there is less than 50 players? or what ever the amount is..
TD ALWAYS has people willing to do META, but you ruin this by kicking us out and again making us lose participation. (And we get zoned to a map that didn’t even start META, so we got to do the quests again, how can this be a more active map?!)
I’m now no longer interested in playing these maps because of your poor ’’volunteer’’ design, i had enough of it. (Volunteer? more like forced reset of participation)
I tried long enough, heck i even got 4k Ley Line Crystals of TD, but enough is enough…
Fix it, or lose the few players that are actually playing HoT!
Perhaps give us a note that the map is low on numbers and we should taxi people in, but stop bloody closing maps people been working on!

Map completion is one of basic things in this game and it is locked behind event which require completion on high lvl!
Even Tyria maps have POI hidden behind events.

This applies to all maps, pretty frustrating how i keep losing my 200% progress because it’s going to close map.
I’m usually very fond of outfits but most of them in store just don’t appeal me.
Especially not when you see another player wearing them with massive clipping issues.
Since i use Copper-o-Matic i actually like getting runes and sigils to sell, makes up for the copper costs of salvage.
Yes they take some inventory space, but you can easely acces a merchant from anywhere. (Guildhall, WvW, HoTM, Summon Stone(s))
I don’t know what attack / thing has to exactly be done to finish it.
But i do know that Shatterer can be blinded by player skills, meaning he will be blind the whole fight, and possibly never hit a single attack.
It’s the main reason nobody ever dies vs him, permanent blind.
So try an empty map.
If it worked fine before then i suspect your CPU is overheating due to dust, especially if you have pets, you need to clean it often.
You can do infinite achievements aswell, complete them once and they count.
I’m sure a dentist is totally against the candy canes aswell, shouldn’t advertise eating that much sugar.
Why are 8 mastery points hidden behind a paywall, named Living story 2?

This is such a slap in the face for people that purchased HoT, to get most of it we have to BUY more content?!
I can’t even finish my tyria mastery because i lack points, 8 hidden in LS2 and 3 in TT that’s nearly impossible to do, unless you get lucky to get a taxi in organized map…
Losing motivation, gained all the exp to rank up any mastery, but i can’t obtain the points for it. (Unless i pay to get 8 mastery points)

It’s a great game, still very unique and played by many.
I don’t notice a speed difference.
And Rune of the Traveler still works, i run very slow when i take my armor off. (Human Guardian)
The thing is, Guild Wars 1 is still loved and played by many.
It’s sad to see it in maintenance mode, awaiting Anet to pull the plug.
Many of us have invested hours, heck… YEARS into that game, i’ve played it for 7 years.
If they would add new content i would try it out for sure, because Guild Wars 1 stays unique, can’t really be compared to Guild Wars 2.
But yeah, modding rights should only be given to someone proven worthy.
And maybe lower the achievement amount. I mean, geez. 2500?

Play Guild Wars 1 for a bit and you’ll change that mindset.
Guild Wars 2 achievements / titles are alot easier to obtain.

As F2P you can actually whisper ‘’non mutual friends’‘, but they must be in the same map, and it’s limited to 1 whisper each 30 seconds. (Do not add people as friends or you get the mutual friend error, just whisper them without befriending.)

I’ll suggest you to rush nothing and have fun.
Nothing is a ’’must’’ you should just do whatever you feel like, and enjoy the most.
My Guild Wars 2 day since i’m lvl 80: 2 hours of bosses, some daily gathering (love to hoard goodies) and possibly some PvP daily achievements.
While the game offers alot more, these are the things i enjoy.
Oh, and don’t forget leveling those masteries, but that wasn’t exactly fun. (just my opinion)

Captain is correct, just toggle autoattack off and done, that way you can even use your GS #3 next to a mob and not attack it.
Will my ’’1’’ skill with continued use still work then, or does that also fall in the ‘’auto attack’’ category?
Basically the title says it all.
Everytime i use ’’retreat’’ to move faster, my character randomly shoots whatever mob is in my line of sight, turning me into combat state, and making me move even slower than before.
How do i prevent this? it’s really too annoying and causing me to stop using retreat, because right now, it’s useless.
Using those skills puts you into combat, draw your weapon and if a mob is near, you’ll attack him. There is an option in the menus where you can disable auto targetting, not sure if it will help though. I just immediatly press “C” again to put my weapon away.

This game is pay to play, not pay to win.
If you’re not willing to pay for content you simply have no acces to it.
Like F2P can’t buy sigils or runes, doesn’t make it pay to win compared to P2P players.
Also as stated above, GW1 had the same disadvantage if you’re not willing to pay for content.
