I agree that adding a WvW Tutorial map would be beneficial for the game. In fact, I’m pretty much down for any mechanic that rallies new players into WvW and keeps them engaged and educated.

The King of Bronze:

In WvW Seasons 2 and 3, we claimed victory and earned the prized title, “King of Bronze.” These were not easy victories. These victories took the blood, sweat and tears of prime time players, EU and OCX players alike. Everyone’s contribution was valued, no matter how big or how small. That is the strength of the Gate of Madness Community.

Highest Win-Streak:

In March of 2014, we decided as a server community on one simple thing: We were tired of losing. So, we dug our heels in, and until late summer 2014, proved unbeatable in WvW combat. Unlike many victorious servers, we didn’t necessarily have a numbers or population advantage. We were dealing with an EU and OCX weak-point that had existed with us since the beginning. Still, the OCX and EU players that came to play with us were arguably the most effective of their time, harnessing the newest in WvW strategy, siege defense and build compositions to secure victory. These were YOUR predecessors, and they are still as highly valued and remembered today as they were then.

The Revival:

As the years have gone by, some have said that we’ve lost our server identity. We veterans disagree. With the return of several of our old guilds to the server, GoM is making a real comeback. And you can join us.

Players of all skill levels, timezones and playstyles have shared a long and illustrious history as part of the Gate of Madness Community. Don’t let them down; continue their legacy.
Always remember that Gate of Madness will remain a strong and tight-knit community, accepting all players that arrive at our door, regardless of skill, history, or timezone, to join the ranks of the victorious.

As we have discussed above, Camelot Unchained is still very far from release. Black Desert Online is steadily losing players, and ESO lacks serious competition to GW2 due to its combat mechanics.

Therefore, ArenaNet still has sole control of the RvR market.

As several people have stated before, WvW players of all backgrounds who have left the game can and will return to GW2 if the proper reforms are made to the game-mode.

This is a serious business opportunity, ANet. You have the chance to monopolize on a lucrative market with little to no competition. Please, listen to your WvW community and make the kind of fundamental changes necessary to revolutionize your game-mode.

I believe instead of having players pay to use unbalanced elite specializations, ANet should balance the Especs with vanilla builds so both are about on par with eachother.

This situation does remind me a lot of dungeon tokens before the Wallet was implemented.

And just like the Wallet, I believe the account-wide Keyring is a good solution to this problem.

The forefront and selling point of your MMO.

This is because, quite simply, WvW provides a unique experience that other games simply haven’t matched yet.

Black Desert Online, Archage and even World of Warcraft are examples of games whose PvE environments compete with Guild Wars 2.

League of Legends, DOTA 2 and Overwatch are Esports games that compete with GW2 in the competitive PvP market.

Yet none of these games provide the kind of RvR experience that WvW has offered us. For now at least, ArenaNet, you have sole control over this very lucrative market.

But not for long.

The success of Dark Age of Camelot shows that large-scale PvP is in high demand, and that when fostered correctly, a RvR format (like WvW) can grow and prosper alongside a loyal playerbase.

ANet, in a time when GW2 is steadily aging and other developing titles seek to compete in the valuable RvR market, think not of short-term profit, but using your collective talent and abilities to foster long-term growth.

Address the tough issues of scoring, population and profession balance. Take a stand and show your playerbase that you’re ready to accept WvW not for what it is, but what it can become.

I’m sorry that your experience on SoS isn’t going well, Spell. I hope that you find another server that will make your WvW experience more enjoyable.

As for the situation with GoM, there are unfortunately only a handful of commanders left willing to pugmand, and many of them (like myself) are busy with school or other RL priorities.

However, whenever I get the chance to play GW2, I tag up. Playing WvW has always been a blast for me and this doesn’t change even if we’re outnumbered and outgunned.

It just means that we improvise, whether that means heavily sieging objectives, condensing our forces in the home BL, or backcapping – anything to keep the morale up and allow our allies to have fun.

Changing the commander tag color is a 5 second job – leave the squad, tag up/down with your color of choice, join the squad and take command. The squad system remembers the last color used.

That said, it would of course be even simpler if we could simply change it on the fly, true.

There were one or two instances this week where I attempted to do that, and it didn’t work. I’m unable to post pictures at this moment, but here’s a general description:

“Commander A forms a Squad and tags up Red. I join his squad, alongside 25 others. Commander A assigns me as Squad Leader and leaves the squad. I leave the squad. I click the color change UI and select Yellow. I am invited and rejoin the squad. I select “Lead Squad.” My tag is red, not yellow.

I’m wondering if anyone else has this problem. It might just be a bug.

Did you just select it or did you tag up/down yellow alone first?

I just selected it. I’m sure if I had tagged up while choosing yellow, I probably would have tagged up yellow when I joined Commander A’s squad.

Still, I believe having the color change UI on the Commander’s Squad UI will eliminate the unnecessary hassle of tagging up and down repeatedly to get the right color.

Exactly. This is not really on my priority list for WvW, but it would be a nice Quality of Life change, as I stated before.
