No. It SHOULD include EVERYONE’s builds. the design IS BAD because its based on WIN=COMPOSITION/BUILDS/GEAR
Gw2 most of the content is SOCIAL, while this is stupid adverse from the rest of the entire buildup of the game.
I can play a tank from 1-80 get all the tank gear and after 5k hours of character development I have a player saying “Your not good enough.”
Thats stupid, I’d take a refund in a heartbeat.
Can you imagine a design where any build works that is still challenging?

DPS for win is stupid design.
If an even number of tanks were required on this new raid instead of mass amounts of DPS it might have been more interesting.
If damage wasn’t 1 shot in the raid tanks would be viable to a degree.
IF tanks were important to keep the DPS alive they wouldn’t come into a tank thread talking about “just dps”. DEVELOPERs dropped the ball with the design, NOT the player. The stupid developer didn’t make the class role viable. I hate you Anet.
The developers suck, and people like blaming people over the developers suckage is stupid.
Make a better design that includes everyone ANET not just cater to DPS=WIN crowd.
An equal amount of tanks and dps in raids? Not sure why that would be even slightly fun. Not to mention that tank is the least favourite role in most MMOs. Even with the just 1 or 2 tanks they need in a 20+ raid squad it could take long to fill if they used an lfg. DPS is the role with the largest amount of players in any raid for a reason.
Also bosses 1 shotting in raids? It’s clear how clueless you are about GW2 content.

The game has been getting harder all along though. Silverwastes is harder than most of core Tyria. The living story and the achievements are harder. Triple threat is probably as hard as anything in HoT.
People have been given the opportunity to play harder content. Anet has spoken about giving people more challenge in the past. This hardly should come as a surprise.
And HoT isn’t really that much more difficult. It has a learning curve, but lots of people who said they couldn’t do it and it was impossible are now playing. One guy made a thread about his issues and I whispered him in game, asking if he needed help. He said, he was getting it now and it was much better.
There’s really nothing wrong with a game taking people out of their comfort zone….particularly because it really isn’t as hard as a lot of people make it out to be. No, I don’t consider I have to use a different weapon to a be a legit grievance.
It´s true that the difficulty always went up. And how went that on? The Alliances of evil races are long gone, Soutsun is deserted most of the time. The only success from that perspective is SW.
Where I disagree is with the idea that there is nothing wrong with a game taking people out of their comfort zone. I think there is plenty of wrong with that idea.
If I can´t have a comfort zone in a game, where then?
I play characters because I like the effects or the idea behind them, not because they are awesome in game.
My Guardian carries for example his ascended soldier gear because that is the way I see him, a stalwart defender of his people and a Soldier. And even if Dragonhunter is superior to other options, I´d never use that for him because it is inaproppriate for a Soldier/Knight.
On the other hand, I like the torch effect of Guardian and often thought about making another guardian zealot.Not sure why playing a character doesn’t involve some form of practicality. This argument has always confused me.
I have a character that has a certain look. It’s them. I like how they look. But my characters are smart (except for Olaf Hamfist who’s a norn clutz). They try something, see it’s not working and adapt, because they’re “real” to me.
What kind of heroic character goes to try to do something, cant’ do and doesn’t come up with a plan b. That doesn’t change the character from being heroic, or even tanky. It just makes them smarter.
Anyway I don’t see why you couldn’t use a PVT guardian in HoT. I think it would work fine.
“I”, my character Does Not like PVT gear. He also shuns anything META, curses the “DevGods” for creating poor content based on the player’s gear instead of the environmental mechanics that could replicate a DPS or TANK or HEALER…
Put everyone in golem suits that make them those classes, give them a gun, give them a trinket that makes them a tank, SOMETHING other than the gear be a REQUIREMENT to kill the boss!
Stop making me build FOR A RAID ANET, I don’t like that at all, I hate it and its not GW2. That is WOW. RAIDS are WoW, Meta stupidity based on gear is WoW.

I want to play like I PLAY and the stupid raid is already built for meta so THERE IS NO CHANCE without reworking my character and re-learning how to play as a DPS or something to make this work.
That’s not my problem, I didn’t design the raid around a player meta. I have a role to play in the game as my character.
People be like “build like dis” NO. I don’t like that. I want to use what I know and have always used and I can’t and it’s FRUSTRATING when placed against this poor design.

Elementalist condi removal sustain and defense still too strong.
Many Guardian traits/skills still need a good look at and rework because they just aren’t functional.I can tell just by looking at the patch notes that Scrappers are still to tanky.
Nice that quickness and slow no longer affect revival and stomp but that was an issue with the downed system being disbalanced in the first place, not with the boon and the condi.
New Shatter fights great, Not hard but very interactive and its easy to get killed so even if you don’t have to worry about the event failing you do have to worry about you personally dieing and I think that’s great.
I like how gliding was put in. Hopefully in future expansions there will be other things put into the main world as well
Thank you for letting support finally count towards event completion. I remember raising a stink about that back during the attack on LA event when I healed dolyaks to no end and didn’t get credit. Glad that’s changed

HoT raid is a pile of trash.
It needs mechanics over metaplay or people will discriminate by class and gear.
By mechanics over meta play I mean – You should not need class roles of tank, healer, dps – No other dungeon or world boss is like this.. Guild wars 2 has never needed gear checks. Those are WoW mechanics.
The raid should have traditional feel to Guild Wars 2 where the group performs actions to complete the task.
I don’t mean like a Zhaitan press 2 to win fight either.
It should be like dungeons or world bosses where there are interesting mechanics to perform to win and not discriminatory to class or gear.

Dungeons are not like this raid, world bosses are not like this raid. Gw2 has always been more about the group preforming acts to complete a task.
Time trial dps on a boss to win with meta-class roles IS WOW’s STYLE, not GW2.

Instead of a raid-meta where you need specific classes and gear, GW2 pre-HoT was more about dungeon functions, hitting switches or standing on plates…doing things.
This raid I haven’t tried yet and I probably won’t.
People are telling me my guardian doesn’t fit the common meta already.
I remember old games with meta dungeon play and adolescence kicking out people due to gear checks.
Out of memory of that horrible game and the people in it, I do not wish to be forced into a meta-style.
As a player I want freedom to choose how I play.
This raid is different – I have to support a meta if I want to participate.
In other dungeons the mechanics were usualy interesting.
Path 2 Explorable Ascalonian Catacombs – The team doesn’t matter so much, the people just have to know how the boss is made vulnerable. No meta required (though zerker is nice, it’s not needed. Specific classes aren’t needed.
HoT raid feels like someone hired a former WoW designer.

One and a half Seconds to cast it
Cures 1 condition every 5 seconds…..lasts 20 seconds…that’s just 4 conditions and it has 5 person limit. So that means it just fires wherever the condition are 4 times?
The healing command is ok but after you think you need to summon the bow to use it the moment you need to use it passes.
It doesn’t attack so it can’t add the condition portion of Expeditious Spirit – the only spirit weapon related trait.
Can this one if not all the spirit weapons get a revamp?

Well…Since PPK is turned on there is a high flux of stealthy groups picking off strays. Looks fun from their end and that’ll press further into the group up to survive strategy.
Want to talk to them about repairing anything? NOPE..they just want to kill and PPK is a good start to encourage PPK-ONLY groups.
Who wants to do anything with the map if you can stay next to someone’s spawn and kill them on entry with the ability to just stealth and run away whenever something threatening comes around?

Some suggestions -
have them radiate boons
spirit shield would be nice if it was a consistent bubble and mobile
hammer would be nice if it did the same as guardian hammer skill 5 – add some CC on the field.
sword…since its a greatsword, how about it does pulls or spins like guardian greatsword skills?
bow – i don’t know….its got a fast ticking healing field for a command skill, but if its clearing conditions for myself and party members its firing the arrows at a really slow and useless rate. Maybe if the arrows did healing on downed friendlies it would be a compliment to the rally changes?
Edit: Bow of truth only fires arrows once every 5 seconds according to the wiki…clears only 1 condition…lasts a whopping 20 seconds….Thats just 4 conditions cleared over 20 seconds…whut?

Hey, love the changes today.
I have a lot of experience playing a defensive guardian.
The skills that are rarely ever seen, used, or considered are the guardian’s Spirit Weapons and I think they should be re-evaluated.
They have long cooldowns even when traited, the cast times make it difficult for situational use, Shield pops its bubble in unintentional locations, bow is kinda useable in a healer sense but the condition removal might as well be swapped with a better utility. Hammer/sword melee and die fast leaving the player with nothing special but a wasted cooldown.
The last time I remember anything happening with them was when they used to be invulnerable and they changed them so they could be killed…might have been 2 years ago now.
I have over 5 thousand hours playing a guardian for experience reference (proof attached). Thanks for reading.

There’s something like 2 towers, 6 keeps that druids can “glide” into, over the walls.
That pretty much breaks the competitive aspect of having walls or gates…So can we fix that?

The HoT launch was nice smoke and mirrors and I hope someone on the dev team bought a new Tesla S out of the customer deceptions.

SCRIBE needs LEVELS, and SAND is what is needed to level SCRIBE. SCRIBE levels = WVW Upgrades. You need TONS of sand to level scribe – So sand should be available in wvw!

I’m sorry but you actually don’t know what you’re talking about. You don’t need sand to level scribe, and you don’t need sand to unlock WvW guild upgrades. I’m the one in charge of unlocking upgrades for my guild, I would know. The only thing you need sand for are glass mugs and sheets of extra coarse sandpaper, neither of which are used for WvW guild upgrades. The only remote case you could possibly make is you need a token amount of glass mugs to unlock the “+WvWxp %” guild enhancement, which would cost you about 4g on the trading post.

Well, that is the thing. the GH is mainly a PvE thing, not a WvW thing. Want sand, there are places to get it pretty readily.
It is NOT a pve thing when it its FULL OF WVW UPGRADES you can only get by DOING pve.
Where is the sand in WvW? The rewards I should get for playing the game mode should attribute to my guild. So where is my sand for playing in wvw?
We should not have to go to PVE for WVW Guild upgrades!

Hardened Gates doesn’t allow damage from alpha golems. Last time I check, they counted as a piece of siege and they should damage the gates.

Oh the irony, considering Alpha can only hurt doors, compared to Omega that can hurt walls as well.
Honestly, I cant think of any other 3 year old game that suddenly went back to being an alpha version. Will we see GW2 re-release soon? Another beta?!
I think there been games in alpha for 5 years + now so GW2 dose it a lot better then most.
Any way how are ppl just now finding this out HoT and the new wvw effects have been in the game for some time now.

First I’ve seen it was last night, someone prepped for a golem rush on Stone Mist and SUPRISE – None of the alphas could damage the door due to that buff. It says “Can Only Be Damaged By Siege” – Since when is a golem not siege Anet?
Can we fix it? No we can’t! But can Anet? Stay tuned on kitten wars 2, the quest for devs to put wvw back into alpha testing~

In regards to some skills that resurrect:
Sometimes downs are bursted down faster than the skill can activate.
Think the guardian signet for rez is somewhere around 3-4 seconds to activate and it can be interrupted?
The opportunity to use skills that resurrect is very rare in a fight, maybe decrease activation time or increase toughness of downed characters.
TL;DR – Re-evaluate use of Resurrect-like skills to make them useful.

Its like they think we are lucky the game exists and praise for the eye candy enviroment i only look at while no action is going on…is necessary for expansion. Why? I look at the environment yes…but most of the time I really just play and concentrate…whats with all these environmental things? Gameplay is big in any game, its the core! And WvW totally has dropped the CORE of the playing!

Imo i’ve DONE most of whatever to gain that same thing a PVPer is seen flaunting around a wvw zone! why is that even there? Did the even hit gold rank?
Anet abandoned the previous mode in favor of these maps that people hate. they didn’t VETERAN in the previous playmode in most ways….it literally changed the game and nobody wants to play it because it changed for BORING. Why run so far, why defend this, why do anything but follow the big fat zerg. Its the same all around servers. All i want is a sign that says “I was there, before it sucked and nobody played it.” right smack next to my name in game.

They give Pvp something pretty special imo. They get their own insignia basically, an identifier with some kind of value.
I want something like that for wvw. I could care less if others could disable viewing it because that would be a feature. Just a simple stupid square box or something. They gave it to people who are competing in simplistic timespan compared to wvws.
Where is WvW’s icons? Its blatant neglect of a mass used game mode in favor of the CASH that anet isn’t going to get from promoting pvp in this way! I don’t want to watch people gain anything, I want to DO it and they took most of that away when they killed roaming!

Pvpers in wvw just won’t know…they have 2k, 3k ranked people around and just socialy bunk the entier mix with those icons! they are nothing to compare old wvw vets to, expecialy since the maps and the entire game mode changed with the HoT patches.

Like, gimme something memorable that I can look at and say “yea that sweet little thing took a lot of work but its mine.” WvW Titles…sure those are ok but anet you messed up when you showed me those PVP icons in WvW…I felt like my country was invaded.
