Just had a match against 4 guardians and 1 warrior. During the fight, the warrior popped fury + hundred blades and killed 2 of us instantly in a 5v5. Why did we not dodge it? Well he had 27 stacks of might.
Im quite confused. First if he had 27 stacks of might I think you should report him for hacking. Considering 25 is the cap. But why did that prevent your dodge?
I have not tried this one but “when hit” is usually when you are hit by an attack. Not when you attack. Probably was changed sometime during beta but the tooltip got messed up
That’s kind of the problem. You can rap necro’s roll in a fight to “use epidemic”. That’s kind of it. They could run any build they wanted to as long as they have epidemic on their bar. Other than Epidemic a Necro really does not bring anything that another Prof can’t do.
Well, besides boon removal/corruption. Other classes have it but not in the quantity necro’s have. But I agree with your general point. Necro’s are weak right now. Fixing bugs may fix that, it might not. But the reply was really towards his remark about how everyone is going to be a warrior. I guess he’s getting caught by too many hundred blades.
I know it’s bad to feed trolls but on the off chance that this guy is serious ill respond. Because your team needs one. I’ve seen some teams run full condition + epidemic. And once they fix a bunch of the bugs with necro’s I think teams will start incorporating them in other ways too. Bring on the full team of warriors.
I forgot to note. The only time my mesmer friend beat me (on the staff build) was a well timed moa. The counter to anything strong is always a mesmer :/

The staff ele’s dps is really low. I doubt 3-4 people could be that bad and lose a 3v1.
If you are fighting a bunker staff ele you need to stop healing rain. Its a short cast but my mesmer friend managed to daze me every time i used it in duels against him. Probably because I never stand still but you have to in order to cast. It gives amazing regen and cleanses condi’s. The ele has many ways to cleanse in both the s/d and the staff bunker builds so never have a condi player match up against them. Once they switch out of water attunement go for a immobilize and burst. Don’t face them because they will go air and knock you back. You won’t be able to burst them down in one go because of the utility skills they bring, which if spec’d will cleanse the immobilize. So you will have to put those utility skills on cd before you can get the kill. Best to only fight if you have a 2v1 with each being either a power/crit build or cc build.
The s/d bunker is not as tanky, as you noted. They do have instant cast cleanses and heals though (not #6). Once again, these builds don’t do much dps. Yes, I have played many games with them, try it for your self. S/d has two knockdowns. One in air (40s cd) and one in earth(45s cd). You make it sound like its a hammer warrior with the “bounced around,dazed” part. If you really were dazed then thats s/f not s/d which does not have ride the lightning.
The problem isn’t that ele’s don’t have good specs. Its that many play styles are not viable due to poor trait lines or poor symmetry between lines. Looking at you fire! Water,Arcane and Earth work well for bunkers but for dps or hybrids traits just are not that great. That is why people complain. Not everyone wants to be a punching bag. Lots of people had different idea’s of how an ele should play.
Switch downed 2 & 3. Make the new 2 similar cd’s to mesmers downed 2. Fixed. It will be weaker then mesmer’s and thief’s down states but it will be way better then ours now. Due to the fact we could be followed easily. Even if they don’t want ele’s to have the survivability that thiefs and mes’s have when down I’ll take a knockback/down on 2. Like gale on the focus or gust on the staff.
RIght now I feel terrible when i get downed in a tpvp game because i know im a free stomp. They don’t need to invest in blinds or stability, just push f.
Personally, I think all classes should not have down states that can’t be countered by blinds or stability. I know you can teleport to a thief mid stomp but good thiefs time the tele to just before you land giving you no time. Mesmer’s are impossible because they go stealth when they tele. I think the only way to stomp a thief or mes is quickness stomp right when they drop. But im not sure if its due to the cd you drop or the players are not paying attention. If so, I guess ranger will be common on teams.
Down state on engie’s actually pretty good. Especially compared to my ele’s down state. For stomping on my engie i use the smoke bomb, makes itkitteneasy. If thats on cd i risk applying a single blind and hope they don’t throw rocks. As others have noted there are other ways to get stomps on the engie, you just need to consider it when you make a build.
