Trasmute is rng, 8%. Cleansing burst is off the turret, its fair. Toss R? Really dude?
409 only works in an elixir build, so no turret heal as well as costing traits and utilities. Fumigate only works on allies I believe, super elixir is one condi same with drop antidote. The only thing there in elixir c but most builds are short utilities slots because of the reliance on kits.

Because he’s a necro that doesn’t have warhorn, so only has fear for cc.

With guesting people can already just guest to anvil if they want. Automating that would be nice for people that don’t know where people hang out but I think it would be a waste of resources to work on. Pvp has more important needs imo.

Particularly, if this game is going to push for streaming viewership, there needs to be some understanding that watching a class do strong condition just by strafing and autoattacking (or spamming on a short cooldown), and then watching the defender drop all the conditions randomly, and then have the commentators explain that you passively apply and remove them and then describe the builds so that viewers understand, is boring.

Agreed, there’s to much autoattacking. I like the big cooldown big number format. Promotes counter-play, as long as skills can be anticipated or are telegraphed. When Jsharp was talking about toning down necro’s I think he mentioned grasping dead and maybe tweaking those numbers. I think thats the wrong way, nerf auto’s instead and add a tell to gd(ground goes brown during the cast, samething with marks), give players a chance to respond to it. Weakening blood is a very obvious skill animation and I think thats a good thing in this game. When explaining how to fight a condi class it should be just like explaining how to fight a power build. Watch out for ‘x’, it has ‘y’ tell. Currently, I don’t think thats the case.

Just because rock always beats scissors doesn’t mean you gotta nerf rock because it always beats scissors.

And in this case scissors can still beat the crap out of rock. If you condi up a engi and fear at 25-30% health you can still kill him before that fear ends. Also, spam your ds1 when he’s dropping below 25%, even on a condi necro it still does decent damage. It will help your condi spike finish him off.

I’m fairly certain that the +stun duration sigils do not stack. Actually pretty sure Defektive said he tested it with one and with two…or maybe I watched him do it on his stream.

I tested it on-stream for the people who kept asking me to try it.

Doesn’t stack.

I’ll test it again tonight I suppose and will use a stop watch.

I don’t think there is a stun longer then skull crack right? If so, it’s impossible to test whether two sigils do anything(if stuns round). Also, there is no point to two sigils.

I don’t wan’t the whole “reroll engineer because they are op” but I’m tired of them running around the whole map just because they can’t be killed if the spec to troll

Guess I should be clear in the point im trying to make. The trait only seems strong because everyone has picked up faceroll condi cleave comps. The trait has been like that for a while, yet people said the engi’s running elixir r or hgh needed to be nerfed. Engies can still be burst down.

But to the point of 100% condi duration reduction, I havn’t tested it but even with +condi duration I have noticed full immunity on both zerker stance and automated. I shall test this later today, I could just not have noticed them fall off really quickly but I swear I never applied one condi.

Whether 2 are additive or multiplicative it shouldn’t exceed the 4s. 3*1.15*1.15 = 3.9675

Given so many classes play condition builds, this one trait can make almost all condition builds useless vs engineers.

Or, everyone reroll bunker engi and then maybe everyone will stop running full condi cleave.

I was under the impression that sop does stack but keep in mind the rounding rule. Stuns and dazes get rounded. So if that extra sop doesn’t get you past the next second you will not see an increase in duration. I haven’t played around with the sigil in months but I haven’t heard that it works differently.

Just incase you don’t pvp at all, keep in mind that armor has no stats in pvp, its all runes traits and amulets.

Testing pve/wvw in pvp is hard to do with builds that have high crit damage, which celestial does in pve. This is due to drasticly different opportunity costs for crit damage. As well, celestial has more stats in pve compared to its counter part. The celestial armor in pve is 60% of a corresponding minor stat with crit damage ratio’s at 7-8. In pvp its 52% of a minor with ratios for crit at 19. Ie: Celestial is much stronger in pve then in pvp

It would be kind of cool if they could route you to a district based on who you are facing that week in WvW or server rank, while allowing people to choose their district as well. Something like “Enter Heart of the Mists” with options: Auto, District 1 (Ranks 1-6), District 2 (Ranks 7-12), District 3 (13-18), District 4 (the rest). Where auto takes you to the appropriate district if there is space available. As a way to get know the folks you are killing in WvW, and there are a lot of people who play both sPvP and WvW. But I’m fine with any solution; I just hope the WvW borderland selection would work properly if its treated as an overflow, instead of Unknown Borderlands.

Yeah there can be multiple solutions to ele burst but I think we can knock out 2 birds with 1 stone by doing this to arcane spells. Lets look at this realistically and compare arcane spells to all other utilities in the game… pretty uninteresting. Ele surge is what actually makes them a UTILITY and not just a way to up the elementalists damage haha. Also if you go try to do the elementalist burst combo without arcane spells, well, it feels really wimpy.

Fair argument, would be nice to see utility skills to gain some utility on my ele. Really just arguing against burst without cast times. People don’t really complain when they get chunked by a phoenix or a fire grab, they can always say “why didn’t I dodge/blind that”. With instant casts you have to be either a telepath or can see the future. I think instant cast damage skills are a bad design, can’t really expect anet to change that though. Idk, with the new lf earth-air is still pretty mean without the arcanes.

Changing ele arcane could be a solution but by themselves I don’t find arcane op. It’s more that they and earth-air burst is basicly all instant cast. Instant cast skills are always going to cause issues in gw2. Too much is reliant on dodging and it’s hard to dodge which happens instantly with really no tell.

S/D Thief’s- It’s another vigor spam build with evades on weapons. They get what 10s of vigor when they use there heal? Which is it’s self a evade with 15s cd. I kind of think they need to nerf vigor to something like 66% instead of 100%. Seem’s like all the top classes rely on high uptime on vigor to survive(except necro).

Stealth – I would like to see a 8s cap as well. Always thought ranger sick’em should follow people through stealth. I know the wvw’ers would love that.

I ran a condi-ele spec in october-november in tournaments. Back then the meta wasn’t filled with condi cleave like it is now. It was really hard to keep pressure on most classes back then and I imagine it is 10 times harder in the current meta. Ele’s have no way to mask condi’s like a engi and necro’s can. As well, water and air don’t apply condi’s (besides frost aura). Also, most of your condi is single target, unless you think your going to land a churning earth without lf on mediocre to decent players. Why would you have a condi ele when you could bring a engi, necro, ranger or hell, even a longbow warrior?

I see that most people are building:

~20k health
3k+ attack
~2.5k Armor
~50% crit
~30%-80% crit damage

The builds vary a lot. What are the minimum necessary stats? I noticed that most guards all build over 3k armor. Why do warriors only need 2k-2.5k? Also, why don’t people build over 20k-22k health?

Different role’s. Guardian’s run high armor because people use them as bunkers. Warrior’s don’t have viable bunker builds so they spec for damage.

Engineer’s are still used. All though due to the last patch they seem to have disappeared as a team fighter. They are now either far point assaulter or bunking close. Quite a few engi’s in EU doing far point with bombs/ft.

Right… No one has ever been effected in WvW by moving 4 times slower. Clearly a l2p issue for those people that can no longer outrun zergs or catch up to their targets.

Please share your masterful wisdom oh yee of great PvE power. Teach us mortals how you WvW so well from divinity’s reach.

If you are playing d/d you still have very good mobility, stop the qq. S/D got hit hard by the rtl nerf but that effects your ability to run not your in-combat effectivness. So we get owned by zergs, so do a lot of other classes. Reroll thief then. That auto-seeking #2 is probably better suited for someone like you. I appreciate your exaggeration, ele’s can’t move they can only rtl point to point!

That will never happen. Laurels are not intended to be farmed but rather they are there to lure people back on a daily basis. They could offer some of the tonics/skins that are available through laurels for glory though.1 million glory for endless mystery cat tonic? Yes please. Maybe the booster’s and letter’s of commendations as well. Dye’s are already available but making them purchasable rather then having to craft them would also be nice. Maybe add skills books so if people want to level there characters they can unlock skills much earlier to make it easier. Also, if they added a gw1 style cape for 1 million glory I would get that so fast.

I don’t know why pve’ers/wvw cry about ele nerfs. Hardly any of the ele nerfs exist out of spvp. I have put my ele on hold in spvp because sor was over nerfed (I don’t like glyph heal) but it wasnt touched in wvw/pve. Healing ripple and Evasive Arcana nerfs as well were just in spvp. My ele in WvW and PvE is kitten good and Im not even in ascended gear yet. Are you crying about not having 3 stun breakers? That’s just a l2p problem.

I use to buy chests and salvage for dyes but it got boring rather fast so now I sit on 290k glory. I have like 200 glory boosters as well. Glory is worth as much as a Papiermark

Lcs has 17+ and Wcs has different age restrictions depending on the country I believe. I think 15 year olds can play in Korea WCS but not in EU. My guess is the lawyers decided to take the easy route and have one global age restriction then have to deal with various countries. Anyone thinking the age restriction is out of the ordinary should get out more. The region limitation is much more worrysome. If it is about prize money can a team nominate one person from the accepted region to be the recipient of all prize money? Then the team can deal with gift taxes/declarations on there own?

I been having the same issue. That was the first thing I was checking too, I ran it with Task Manager and my DSL connection running up so I can track the computer performance and the connections upload and download speeds. No point was there any kind of hiccup or spikes anywhere that could make for this to happen. I’m thinking this might be a result of ANet’s systems unable to maintain a high volume of players at this new area.

To be clear I do not get this kind of issue when it’s a full zerg on zerg in WvW, with AoE spam from Hades.

Rarely is game lag due to bandwidth issues. You need to be monitoring packet loss as well as latency(to anet).

I had terrible skill lag and rubberbanding for a while with this game, having a lovely ping of 700. Instead of blaming anet I did a traceroute and found a l3 node kittenting the bed between me and the servers. I run battleping and my latency is now 50. It’s probably your internet. Sometimes its not even your isp network. Get some evidence before placing the blame though.

I’ve seen quite a few. Some spec offensive traits, some defensive.

There are many other builds but I don’t know them off by heart and I havn’t played any myself so I can’t really give guidelines either. Seen hammer/gs, hammer/mace/shield, hammer/axe/mace, gs/axe/mace.

I honestly don’t think warrior is as bad as people make it seem to be anymore.
I don’t feel like a real liability or free kill anymore vs most classes besides necro(unless they screw up/bad) and certain engi specs and mesmer/teef at certain areas where they can abuse teleporting to high ground/LoS.

Not the best rankings and it’s mostly engi/ele play with warrior since the cleansing ire patch(played warrior abit before frenzy nerf but no one wanted to play with me ;D).
Have only solo, duo, trip(with a guy who have <100 tourny games since launch) queued the last 4 weeks. Actully with the current state of my warrior i think i would have been more useful as warrior than engi(beside elixir R..) in my previous team…

This isnt about warriors not being viable in tpvp. Its about the op’s idea that the “classic burst” warrior is “overwhelmingly dominant” when played correctly. It’s another hotjoin hero who goes “Im soo good i one shot people all day you guys should just l2p”.

I don’t mind playing premades of people with lower rankings. The real problem is when you face a premade with people who have higher rankings then you. Not only do they have better players but they have coordination. They need to lockout matchups where individual ratings of the premade are higher then the solo que players. It’s rather silly that I’m sitting at 4-500 solo queing and getting matched up against premades of the top 100.

Elementalists gets an advantage on their stats depending on which attunement they have activated (power for fire, precision for air, etc) which makes them flexible with all skills they have available. For example, they get a boost on healing ability when attuned to water and some of the water spells they get can heal.

??? I think you are confused. There are no stats for attunement besides the 5 minor trait in earth (not a usually taken trait). You must be thinking of conjures, which are like very terrible clunky versions of engi kits that no one uses except autoattack spammers (lightning hammer) in pve.

To be fair Elixir R has been nerfed: it is no longer a stunbreaker, but the toss Elixir R ress hasn’t.

I think it should’ve been the other way around personally: longer cd, casttime, slower ress, smaller radius, shorter range, etc…

The nerf has definitely crippled the class just when they had solidified a spot in the meta.

Toss R use to have a 80s cd. R has been nerfed plenty of times. CC, poison, dps, delay kill. All options. Its time for people to learn to play.

You missed his point, Defy pain doesn’t last forever if the warrior remains under 25%. I really don’t think this is much of a problem in tpvp. Bursting through 25% health isn’t hard. The trait works amazing in 1v1’s against condi pressure but is ok to mediocre in team fights. Engi’s are viable backpoints, so what?

Sc2 managed to find my place accurately in 5 games. So it can be done.

The key here is pain ? Just get a knife and cut yourself, it will make u stronger!! No decent game will make u lose 20 games in a row, not even Etrian Odissey does that.

Sc2 is 1v1. ie: all individual skill. Unless you talk about teams in which case the games matchmaking is not that great. Teams that are changing are variable (class,roles,synergy,communication) which causes huge variation in rating. These systems are not designed for a game like this. Matchmaking might be accurate if we get locked rosters, else there’s just to much variation. They talked about having a different game mode for solo que, which could reduce the importance of the variables I listed above and instead focus on individual skill, then ratings will be much more stable and reliable.

Why not two? Everyone has different idea’s of what a warrior needs to be effective in spvp. Have two guests that give different points of view on any changes or suggested changes. Let’s persuade Grouch to make the next sotg focus on warrior for the majority of the show. Warrior’s have been out of top teams for too long. The community needs to say that fixing the warrior’s problems is a priority.

There’s a lot of teams that will scrim with your team and give you guys some free advise. It does sound like you guys are pretty new to this, what did you guys do in game before? Unless you’ve done lots of small group wvw I suggest you guys hit up hotjoins together to work on spiking targets, securing stomps and peals. Once you get the basics down try some scrims with some teams to get feedback on your strategy/teamplay.

Besides warrior and longbow ranger, which other classes are clunky? To say gw2 fails in this area is rather unfair imo. I main engie and ele. They both feel extremely fluid, especially since the new patch(Engie rifle, Ele staff). Yes there are clunky weapon sets, but I put them in the small minority. Never would have figured wow would be considered fluid. I played a mage and I had to stand still to cast. Not my definition of fluid. But I do agree with your general point. Anet needs to keep up the work on making more weapon sets fluid. They had good progress last patch and they mentioned in sotg they were looking at ranger longbow. So I expect more improvement next patch.

He’s the the reason we keep getting nerfs. They have no idea what they are talking about, why do devs listen to people like that. I have played staff Elementalist for over 1500 hours, why haven’t any devs asked me my opinion? :c If they want it, I want to quit the game so baddly because of my frustration with my class. You have no idea how many builds I go through just to try tPvP and get my Elementalist title from it. I’ve went through every possible build that is available, all the bunker ones, condition damage, glass cannons on every single weapon set up. Nothing feels right, everything on them feels SO weak. I just want to get on another class for PvP, but I can’t, because I love the elemental mage type class too much.

People go on about how the d/d or s/d bunker build is OP, but every other bunker build does what we do, but better. Even the freaking necro MM bunker does more then us. The guardian bunker can actually kill people as a bunker 1v1.

I love this game so much, but I’m at might wit’s end.

Have you ever thought maybe the problem is you and not the class? D/D and S/D are still very good in tpvp. SoR may have been over nerfed, maybe rtl as well but ele’s still provide heals,boons,cc and burst all in one. If you think a bunker ele has less damage then a bunker guard you are playing it wrong. I don’t think the devs want to listen to someone who thinks a minion master is more viable then a bunker ele.

I don’t think it exists…. My friend hasn’t played tpvp since the leaderboards were released and he’s still in the top 1k. Does that make any sense?

Like I said, I suspect the decay timer having started when they said the implemented decay, which was what 3 weeks ago? If they made decay strong to the point of people dropping off the boards after going on vaction for 2 weeks people would complain. I can’t remember exactly but I think MiM was top 25 before the “decay patch” and have dropped down to 60’s. Check next week, if they have fallen then I suspect decay is there, if not its doesnt exist.

Pretty sure decay is there. I haven’t been tracking people but ive noticed some people in the top 30 have finally fallen out. My guess is that the decay timer started last patch rather then be applied retroactively. If that’s the case, people will start decaying at a faster rate within the next few weeks.

Pretty much this. Standard S/D wasn’t touched last patch, staff got buffed, new traits for pve land and pvp. LF is still a really good skill, same with cf. People have been saying ele’s suck even when we had 20’s rtl, blasts on all ea’s, strong healing scaling. You look at every class forum and all you see is people blaming anet and the class for there failures. Ele has some issues no doubt but its not a bad class.
