I made a charr mesmer for that reason, love it. Charr elementalists could currently be frowned upon, lore-wise, considering the Flame Legion history.
Another odd combo I quite like is a sylvari engineer. Nothing beats a plant wielding a flamethrower!

i have absolutely no problem finding a group with my 35+ chars, you still should have gear on your level, because downleveling makes lowlevel gear useless( level 35 gear is crap if your char is level 60 even though he is downleveled to 35)

This may be true for Arah Story, but there are several dungeons soloable.

Spiky.8403 also soloed all 3 paths of TA so dungeons are indeed soloable, just not all of them
him dying to cleanse orr would have been a great end!
Just a quick note—I said the odds of it dropping was closer to .005 than the 1 in a million or so that was tossed out. Those aren’t the exact odds, but if my math is correct, 10 players running the event every day might expect one staff to drop after about 7 months. (And we haven’t been out that long.)

i mained the ranger, but right after i finished my guard i just didn’t think of him viable of doing anything as well as the guard, you only have 2 working group support skills, being the healing spring and the stone spirit, every other skill is just not usefull enough for the group, the traps are not spammable enough to provide combofields in a useable way and their duration is to short, either reduce total damage and make it spammable or reduce dps and increase the length of the traps so you can actually use the combo fields for more then one finisher!
please add an option to store your pet while in combat, so u can better loose aggro if needed.
there is way more that needs to be changed or buffed so the ranger can be usefull to the group and not only be a freeloading dps class without huge dps(as the pet is mostly dead in harder dungeons)That is a HORRIBLE idea, and it gimps the trap ranger builds, which is one of the only good builds we have as Rangers. If they gimped the traps like that I’d probably quit maining ranger, because then I wouldn’t be doing enough damage to help out the party in dungeons.

rangers right now aren’t a good class in pve, they need several mechanics buffed, so they are actually able to compete with the other classes in dungeons(ranger is lacking support with the only support coming from the spirit of stone and the water combo field; ranger is lacking dps or needs to go full condition which has the problem, that the conditions still need to tick off, while other skills do the damage instantly; ranger can go melee, but bugged skill 1 on 1hsword also sucks)
so all in all i’d say, just don’t play a ranger in addition to the stuff posted above

I really do hate leveling and are happy when i am finally done so i can equipp the gear i got plenty of tokens for already.
I want to play effective and that i can only do after i reach level 80.
warrior has imo the biggest burst damage in the game
either you have the wrong gear or wrong traits or wrong weapons
mace in main hand e.g.
and u also have at least 3 viable options
berserker gear(glass cannon), knight gear(bruiser) and soldier gear(tank)
as well as a mix of them

now what i don’t like at all are people looking for speedrun groups and such who don’t know what they are doing.
so i wouldn’t have a problem with doing dungeons with you as you exclaimed that it’s your first time

I was hoping it would be a surprise, but sure. I rebuilt the “Defend Magg while he plants the bomb” event in CoF (path 2). It now involves a special flame legion assassin who must be killed before he reaches Magg, while dealing with never-ending spawns of (non veteran…) flame legion out to distract the players and add pressure.
Sounds like an interesting encounter, i love the way the dungeons are heading already
cofp1 is not doable because of the 4 torches place, if you could glitch through the door behind that switch you could do so, but i think thats not possible
or you need to be full ascended, like ascended armor and weapons
i think it is because in the early levels your armor only has 2 stats, so you don’t really have the possibility to get crit damage before level 55( when armors start to have 3 stats)
The problem right now is, it is way to much RNG.
I am doing multiple runs of CoE path 1 on a daily basis and sometimes i don’t even get 1 core while others get 5…
I really liked the DoA reward approach in GW1 where you would always get your 1/2/3/4 gems in nm and 2/4/6/8 gems in hm and sometimes as a random drop from a mob, but none cried if no mob dropped you a gem, as you were assured your gem at the chest.
Still they were quite pricey as the Area was not just brain afk button mashing as many other aspects of the game( still talking about GW1), but it still was PUGable.

I do like DoA a lot and am going back to GW1 sometimes just to play it, so i would be totally happy to revisit something like DoA anytime
thief+ele can do 25 might for everyone in a matter of seconds and maintain them, so i don’t see the problem with taking a thief to cof speedruns if anyone with fire combo fields is in the grp
@Zogyark I would only play Full Berserker if i knew the dungeon and it’s mechanics pretty well, otherwise you only will lie on the ground

2: path 2 the event is overtuned
path 3 at the flames kill everything but 1 mob at every torch, then hit the mob to low health(below 10 percent) and finish all 5 mobs at the same time, by writing 1,2,3 in the chat or so
then just do the 1,2,3 thing at the torch as you have at least 10 seconds until the mobs respawn again
the harder thing at path 3 is the defense of the area that comes a bit later, as some of the silver mobs hit very hard here and the way you need to walk is pretty long

Rework the outmanned buff to actually help the team

doing coe path 1 100x would take long enough
i think they are already focusing on the wintersday event/update
there is one in gw1 though, so hopefully it’ll be introduced next year with the talk like a pirate day
as already written by way to many people before me, i don’t like gear treadmills, u said in ur manifesto, that u won’t have one, now suddenly linsey murdock says there is one in the next update and it will go on, i think i’ll go back to gw1 and do some doa if this should happen
