Focused on bringing its members top tier content in a mature and friendly environment we look towards the end game and all PvE/PvX aspects of Guild Wars 2 while placing the highest value on the actual person behind the keyboard. Vanquish is a no drama, RP light and content driven guild centered around having a good time and enabling the fun of one another through wit, selflessness and the occasional drinking game!

•While end game PvE and PvX is our goal we enjoy all aspects of game play and the road that leads to such including light RP and a range of social events within the guild
•We cater to an “older” crowd with an age requirement of 18+ (our average age being 30-50+)
•While the guild founder resides in the PST time zone we will cater to and support players from all over including events held across various times of play

Wintersday is upon us and holiday cheer abounds! On behalf of myself and Vanquish, Merry Christmas Tyria! The guild is going well as we continue making a name for ourselves on the Tarnished Coast. From the perspective of a long time guild leader and one who likes to run a tight ship it would be GREAT to be able to look over my roster and know when a member:

1) Joined the guild (yes our own website lists this but between site names, Anet account names and IN game names its difficult to track)

2) Last time they logged in as this is valueable for keeping the guild pruned and knowing who is MIA and for long they have been such.

While Im on it… how bout player notes next to their names either Officer added or individual. i.e. “Out for 2 weeks while on vacation, see everyone soon!”

A huge welcome to our newest members, good to have everyone on board!

With the release of The Fractals of the Mist we have been pushing hard to move through the tiers as well as keep on top of our daily explore runs! That said we are on the look out for new and great members to help fill out the ranks, especially late night gamers or those in Oceanic time zones. While our prime time remains 5pm-11pm PST we have a solid core of “2nd shift” players and are looking for more!

When we (my guild) started running dungeons they seemed insanely hard, to the point we thought they were bugged. Now we have ALL dungeons compleated on story and the majority of paths on explore knocked out as well, including Arah. I wont lie, the dungeons are freaking hard but once we started to TRULY understand the mechanics of them we are now running them daily and compleating many in under an hour (explore) Dont give up and KNOW that you are going to die…a lot during this learning process = )

Trust me when I say I feel your frusteration, a number of us were ready to give up thinking that they were made impossible by poor design or simply bugged. Its just not the case, again…they are hard but its all about understanding the mechanics and taking it slow.

An update on our guild and to prospective applicants!

Since my last post we:

- Are looking for 10-15 more like minded individuals to join our ranks!
- Have compleated all dungeon Story modes and the majority of Explore modes
- Have established a strong pressence both in sPvP and WvW
- Have continued to make a name for ourselves on The Tarnished Coast
- Have built our membership up to ~ 70 active, no drama adult gamers looking to get the most out of their time in game!
- Have implemented static event nights across multiple days per week
- Are planning our first server wide, open invite event!

Two things you need before starting a guild, above all else:

1) The ability to make confident decesions on your own
2) Creativity and confidence (ok thats three!)

To answer your question -

A name should have specific meaning to the direction, style and culture you wish to build into and for your guild. The names you listed all seem semi random and unrleated? Please remember, running a guild is VERY hard work as you are dealing with REAL people with real wants, desires and goals in game…as a guild leader your JOB is to take your members from where they have been to where they have not!

The Brick Wall

Keep in mind I ENJOY and have ONLY played healers and support types for near 20 years of MMOs now. Its what I do!

This build is all about standing toe to toe with the enemey, while tossing out boons and healing to the group…you do however, hit like a wet noodle! The flip side to the lack of DPS is being near unkillable, even if things go BADLY you can almost always get away.

This build is boon based, the more you have up the better the flow of combat becomes. I wont go into great detail unless asked. Armor and gear play a major role in this as well – My entire set of gear, weapons and armor is based around + Toughness, Healing and Vit. I attain this by applying matching runes to the armor.

In WvW my main job is to run the front lines and draw fire…yep…Im bait and I love it!
