I got this Oontz’s necklace of the Cat from a ToT bag and it has a curious upgrade:
Poly-Liminescent Undulating Refractor (Black)
when equipped it makes your character much darker.
Might these upgrades be the new items? (Black) hints at other colors or even effects that we can have based on the upgrade.
Also you can salvage the Necklace probably giving you the upgrade but i’m too scared to salvage it :P
Hi guys,
Although I never asked for it to be approved (I prolly should have, sowwie) it was and still is not my intention to sell these in any form.
I just wanted all the artwork in one place that I could flick through whenever I felt like it.
I had it printed and bound by one of those photobook companies and although the quality is very good it is also quite expensive.
The 21-28cm version I have was more than € 50,- though I didn’t pay that much because I had some promotion codes for an album.
Making it smaller didn’t do the artwork any justice so that wasn’t an option either.
I’ll try to post a link to the online version the company sent me so you can flick through it yourself, but there might be some add from the printer attached.
And yes Rubi, I saw it on the POI show
all thanks goes to you guys that made everything that is in there.
And I’ll have a second one printed at the end of the month and have it shipped to you guys at Arenanet!
Link to the digital album:

Ps: The online version doesn’t do the album any justice as I was amazed by the look of the actual thing when it arrived.
It looks way better than the online version, but it gives you an idea of what’s in it.

I made a suggestion about housing somewhere in the bowels of this forum which expanded a bit after I posted it.
The most recent part I added was about mounts and i’ll repeat what I wrote here:
Mounts
People have been craving this since the beginning, others have hated it from the start as they don’t fit in the game and are not needed because of waypoints.
In your ever expanding property in the mists and the only waypoint being that one just outside your castle moving about can get very tedious.
Just pick up a mount at your stable(which you have to build first ofc.) then pick one of the mounts you have unlocked (ingame or gemstore) and make travelling fun.
So, people that want them can finally have them and people them won’t ever have to come near them or even see them ingame if only in anothers home instance.that hate
Hi All,
I made a collection of all wallpapers, loading screens, concepts and some screenshots from the entire first season including all events.
Decided to have it printed and bound
60 pages, w28cm/h21cm
An interview got posted on GuildMag which says we won’t see SAB for a loooooooooooooooong time considering they want to ‘focus on other parts of the game first’ (we all know what that means, precursor crafting anyone?)
Sad day to be a SAB lover.
Do we know what those other parts are? or should we wait untill they have announced the entire sept 9 feature pack?
Before we all start a riot, oh wait O_O
Week 2 pleeeeeeeeaaaaasssseeeeeeee let it be player housing
Same here
-Mysterious Vine Made a week ago (stored in inventory)
-Seed was also in inventory
-No steps of DR:P2 done
I though that is was just a rename for the seed until I read the forum.
Good luck fixing this
Wow thanks! on one of the chinese sites I could click on the small image and got the large one.
Thanks a lot!
and that is a big link hehe
Hi there,
since they aren’t making and Art of the Living World Season 1 I decided I’d make my own with one of those photo album programs.
I try to get as much of the Artwork in there and some screenshots but can’t find a specific artwork/loading screen from the Fractured update.
They have it as a thumbnail on the releases page.
Does anyone know what this work is called or where to get a large version of it?
Thanks in advance.
I have a severe case of Packrattus Extremus and tend to hold on to stuff from events instead of opening them.
There is an egg collection in there and am still sad that my “Tassi’s relay golem” said poof when I recently tried to use it
it used to spawn the golem which then had a small spoken dialog.
Still, Im not rich though
Agreed, I for one really like the storytelling and all the new stuff they keep giving us.
More story but you have to read to get that, clickkety click kills every story real fast.
New-ish kites
Updated area’s
New stuff to craft which will grow when we progress.
Items for the backitems feels like a scavenger hunt, which is ossum.
I was just discussing with my guild that this episode felt like questing in guild wars 1, which is a great thing imo.
I like it and that’s enough for me, I also like mounts and housing which others seem to dislike.
To each his own I guess which is fine too
300+ here tokens and 2 tickets
It’s not much but if you see how many some have used this has to be some kind of bug I think.
Season one was nice except from a few misses like the halloween and wintersday reduced events.
Don’t forget this was a fist timer for all of Arenanet too.
Now going into season two they will have a much clearer view of what they want to do with the living story and how they are going to do it, they have over a year of player feedback on season one.
Congratulations!!!
A truly Legendary achievement!
Same here. I’ve had the opportunity to read the book, but I don’t actually own it, which makes me very sad because it’s prohibitively expensive on the secondary market. The only thing that bugged me about the book was it was very obvious that the bulk of the content in the book was collected early in production. Not really a downside per se since the book’s gorgeous, it just would have been awesome to see later concepts and such.
But! It’d be absolutely amazing to see a sort of ‘volume 2’ come into print covering the living world season 1 concepts like SAB, Scarlet’s stuff, Cutthroat Politics, Dragon Bash, Halloween, Wintersday… sorta like how that… other MMO brings out a new hardcover artbook every year or two with their expansion packs covering the new concepts and art
This very much!
Would be great if they released a Season 1 artbook with a sneakpeak with what’s to come.

It really is time for capes imo, my ascended armor is screaming for one!
I understand that there are a lot of clipping issues, but I’ve come up with an idea that will eliminate most of the clipping issues although it will make the capes a bit less traditional.
This will be a nice option for the four humanoid races, and I hope they come up with something cool for all you Charr lovers.
Maybe add an option to stand upright like some of the Charr in EotN did?
Capes have to be divers enough that not every player walks around with the same one.
Would be nice if we could craft them or get them as special reward of the living story (like all other backitems)
Below is an example of what I mean, watch out for my superior drawing skills
Am I missing something, I have a few skin leftovers but can’t seem to put them up for sale.
Or was this a bug that they quickly put a stop to?
Replacing the guard with clockwork knights is just asking for trouble.
Those things going haywire somewhere along the event (2 weeks in) is bound to happen.
How do these npc’s keep falling for this stuff is beyond me.
My friend that hates JP’s was not thrilled to hear that the entire sanctum was actually a very large JP and he’s just bad at jumping.
Normally I do all the jumping for him but this time he insisted that he wanted to try himself and last night he had amassed 34 crystals!
This proves that although some of them are very hard to get, if you are a little above average on the JP’s it’s doable! (note: he is way below average)
Best map I’ve seen in a while, shame the rest of the island isn’t involved in some devious jumping >:)
Indeed I am, every few days I refine all my amassed mats for smaller storage.
If the player home ever gets here I can build one from Mithril ingots
All this refining and now I can’t even use them for this.
On the bright side: the recipe you can get out of them are cheap on the TP and the droprate for the kite fortunes is very low so exchanging all your mats will result in a loss of investment if you plan to buy a lot of them.
In GW1 at the Wintersday event you could exchange 250 of an event item (which was fairly easy to obtain) for a low stat Candy Cane weapon, 2 others were obtained from certain quests during the event.
For GW2 I would like to see a system that works a little like this.
The Zhaitaffy vendor was a step in the right direction, but then completely lost it with the Jorbreakers.
I would say:
5 pieces for consumables and party items
250 pieces for the party hat or other novelty clothing pieces
500 pieces for the same skin but now with actual armor value
1000 pieces for a minipet or a weapon skin
5000/10.000 pieces for an ascended weapon in the event skin
It’s an event which must be enjoyed by everyone imo.
Want the shinies?, play and you will have them.
Want the extra shiny shinies? Work for it, but you will get your reward.
Have a great event everyone!!
Ok I was in LA today and yes there was one of those guys spamming the highest note in front of the bank and yes it was annoying as hell and yes it crossed my mind to report him (seriously) and then I thought.. wait a second, what am I doing here if something so little can mess with my feelings in a game.
The item is new and the shine will fade away as will the spammers that are just a little frustrated they can’t play a proper tune.
But, they will learn ànd there will be people annoyed by it.
Only now the trumpeteers payed for their instrument so muting them in towns is a little too much and will cause them to rebel.
So how to give everyone what they want?
Solution:
Keep the sound in all explorables (no brainer really)
Mute the sound in all main cities, BUT (here it comes) except for a stage where they can play their tunes and people can come and listen to them if they want to.
So, no annoying sounds when messing with the crafting or bank etc.
if you miss them just go see em.
Other musicians will gather at the stage stimulating group music and whatnot
Add a vendor that sells flowers and rotten tomatoes, like it?, give em a floral shower. hate it? try to hit them in the face pomodori style!
The idea is a little like the dance manual which requires one player to start it and he/she can invite others to sync with them.
This upcoming Dragon Bash really set’s the mood with that wonderful theme song and it reminded me of how bad I wanted to make some music in this game and how it lacks the emotes from gw1.
The manuals can be bought from the gemstore and each event can have it’s own song or two in it.
When used the owner chooses which song and starts inviting others the same way as the dance manual.
Once started/invited your skillbar changes giving you 4 options:
Flute, violin, guitar, drums (these can change with each manual to match the type of music)
And maybe add an option to clap or stomp to the music.
Players can choose which part of the song they will play based on the type of instrument they choose, but if they please to do so they can all play the drums.
Since they are in sync, they will always play in tune and no hard efforts are needed to play along.
Songs play for 30-60 secs before they loop and everyone can join in whenever they want.
This upcoming event calls for some community music!!
Although I wvw sometimes and frac sometimes it’s not something I’m doing on a regular base.
But if I want a +5 infusion just for PvE I either have to buy one from the merchant in wvw or forge one which either gives me a plus for wvw or AR which I don’t need.
Still the +4 bugs me when I know there is a +5 version (which is more expensive because of the extra’s)
Is there a chance the basic(no extra stat) is changed to +5 in the future, just for people like me who almost only play PvE?
A new recruit from the consortium accidentally salvaged the ship with a crude salvage kit and it only yielded one wooden beam.
Ashamed of his action he wandered the cove looking to make things right and make the consortium proud he stumbled upon a rather strange sight outside Kiel’s outpost.
A little north from the outpost someone had put op their laundry to dry, hanging them on a rope tied between a tree and… air?!!
That’s not right thought the recruit and soon his eyes began to shimmer and he thought of that one wooden beam he salvaged before.
He ran off and collected the beam to carefully place it at the end of the rope.
It took some time but it looked almost perfect, nobody would suspect that rope being attached to air, because ropes hanging from air is just plain silly.
Gem store RNG chests.
^This combined with them being limited time offers only makes you feel the pressure to spend your money NOW or miss out!
I have the money, I want to spend it, I want the items, but let me buy it when I want/can.
“Hey, having one of those months where you can’t make ends meet?, well too bad.”
“And we’re doing it again next month, stay tuned!”
I farm to get gold and ecto’s to gradually crawl towards my months away achievement for a legendary.
I’m in no hurry and with this recent change gold is a bit harder to come by, but on the other hand the mats are dropping in price.
Same crawl, diffferent approach.
Just, please remove the white drops from Orr, they fill up my inventory way too fast
[Hmm, somehow I must have placed this in the discussion forum, it should ofc be in suggetions. sorry about that please move]
So I’m running around in my full Berzerker gear killing stuff along the way suddenly the enemies start growing stonger or a vet/champ is in sight and I want to change to some more vit/tough gear and traits.
After that it’s easy going and decide to try and get that little extra by switching to my MF gear.Except for the MF (which is just gearswitch) all this respeccing is tedious, sure you can change gear or weapons, but the traits stay the same and you have to have all different set’s on you at all times.
Why not let us buy more books (3?) which act as the hero panel with a trait button integrated.
Each book can be filled with all the appropriate armor/weapons/trinkets and traits can be set with each book.
The book can be named (6 (?)characters to keep it clean): poprcr: power/precision/crit and funtions as a storage device so that when you switch books all your equipment doesn’t get scattered throughout your inventory.
Wanna change a book? sure just open it, put in other gear and traits, rename it and GO!
Kinda like the buildsystem from GW1 with some GW2 changes.
Book 1 selected and fully set:

The bow community is joining your crusade!!!!
Still, the game is young and more skins WILL arrrive!
The fifth Staff skill sometimes causes enemies to fear me so much they just keep on running and running away.
Although I’m obviously to be feared, I’m also lazy and hate the chase :P
I have the fear lasts longer and the fear does damage trait on and also have greater marks.
Full berserker set.
Only happened about 3 times in the last 5 days but when I told it in the farming party the other necro confirmed this happening to him/her too.
Although very stylish, I prefer the GW1 login screens which had a living background representing the style of the expansion.
It would change whenever a new expansion came out.
although not animated, in this thread are examples of what they looked like:

Yes please, right next to the Mount slot ^^
(yes I’m still hoping for those :P)
player to player trading
books to fill and flick through
HoM or anything like it
and I’m really sorry to say this but: Quests!!!
I loved doing them and I understand that the new system is more advanced and alive, but can’t they coexist?
I’m quite sure I walked through some rain in bloodtide yesterday, it was cloudy and heard thunder while it was pouring.
Could be area specific though have to check again if it’s always there.
I totally agree on the night’s, they have to be much darker!
I remember in Dragon’s Dogma that night’s were very dark and you had a lamp that you put on your belt, going out at night was scary as hell in that game
In the video you can see the player taking out his lamp and the scary effect this has on the dark surroundings.

How could lowbie pass level 80 if he’s lowbie?
[/quote]
I thought you were referring to my post above yours suggesting a weekly with more powerfull enemies in certain area’s
Very bad idea.
What about new players with low-level characters?
The number of players in said area would be big enough for lowbies to easily tag along with other players.
Evil Mode
Plus we could get our daily heals for ressing them
/Evil Mode
The Laurel award system is not complete yet and they might add more stuff for getting them and even retroactive reward them for achievements we have done.
Hearts now also give karma and although it’s a shame I have my main on 100%, it’s a good thing.
They better reward laurels for 100%-ing an area or completing different sets of achievements.
Also make region specific goals/mini events to complete to migrate people to certain area’s of the game, these can be done weekly and reward say 2 laurels.
Example:
Weekly: The Skritt of area X have been reproducing out of control and are now threatening to infest the area, due to their great number they are very smart and powerfull and are a force to be reckoned with.
To all heroes: “This is no noble deed, but one that need’s doing, we must reduce the Skritt population before they take over the area and destroy everything in their path.”
Objectives:
-Slay xxx Skritt in the whole area of X (which increases your slayer achievement, which will in time get you completed sets of achievements, which will get you laurels)
-Destroy xx of their newly invented warmachines
-Collapse xx Skritt burrows do disperse the populus and lower their intelligence
The Skritt will be around in greater numbers and are higher in lvl because of this event, they also use more advanced weapons and tactics because of their increased intelligence.
Well this is just an example of a weekly how I think it could work.
So per month:
30/31 Laurels from daily
8/10 from weekly
10 from monthly
XX from 100% area’s
XX from completing set’s of achievements
Depending on how your playstyle is you can get over 60 laurels each month.
I remember in GW1 they removed the sounds of tonics and minipets in towns and outposts because of griefing.
Sadly I coundn’t play the flute anymore as a Gwen doll, that was the cutest thing.
And yes there are some peeps that do this to annoy, but I’ve also seen the most amazing bell players near the bank in LA.
I would hate to have those people punished over some griefers.
Well time has moved on and it was sort of logical these elements were gonna be in the game.
I agree with you on the thundercat mobiles, but they do look awesome
All in all if you consider the sheer amout of content in this game and then look at the amount of steampunkish stuff it’s neglectable.
You can walk for hours without even seeing stuff like that and for the Charr regions it really sets the mood for the industrial revolution they are in.
Any other EU players having login issues atm?
I can’t seem to log in

This wintersday I got lucky with an Endless Gift Dolyak Tonic, at first I thought I had bad luck because there were none on the trade post the next morning there were people asking for one 100 gold+
Don’t give anything about tonics so put it up there for 110 right away and it sold in a few mins.
Lol, I even had to suck dry all my alts to scrape enough gold together to even put it up there :P
Spent all the gold on sup runes of holding and now have 160 slots of inventory!!
Great event guys!
It’s the mayan calendar did they build the EotN? and did they predict the coming of the dragons?
Well just my 2ct, but I’m playing a lvl 42 guardian and atm i’m wielding my second greatsword I got from a drop.
Other drops are ok’ish but I’m having a really hard time getting a greatsword that is slightly my level.
Sure I can buy one, but i just love to upgrade my stuff along the way.
Spending 20 levels without a greatsword drop is a bit dissapointing imo.
Gunnars Hold
Prinsen van het Zwaard [PVHZ]
We lost all our upgrades; guild stash, armorer contract and some others
we did change servers a few days ago, can that be it?
This may be a bit of a huge change, but I believe that the game has an enormous, and very well done environment, but we don’t get to spend enough time in a place to appreciate it. I spend all of 6 minutes doing a heart, then running around looking for events until I get to the next heart for 6 more minutes. There are so many different almost castle-like areas that I feel aren’t emphasized enough. They don’t really serve much of a purpose. Which brings me to my next point:
Quests. Honest to god quests.
Maybe don’t make them what the entire game is based upon, but a good combination of hearts, combinations, and quests would make for a very fun leveling experience. Quests aren’t a bad thing…. they give you a REASON to go exploring into all of these places that your environment designers slaved over making. Not only that, but they give us something to do while we’re there, making us spend more time in these areas, and therefore, making these areas more memorable. In every other MMO I have played, there would be at least one thing about different zones that would set them apart for me, and I don’t feel like I have that in this game because I don’t spend enough time in each zone, so I don’t feel like I really get to KNOW the world I am in.
Finally, quests aren’t a bad thing if they are cleverly done. When they have unique objectives, when they require us to use vehicles or siege weapons, etc.
P.s.: Quite a few siege weapons’ operation could use a little work.
Quests YES!!!!!!
I love the heart’s and DE’s and the world looks fantastic and alive, but it’s just scenery after you have done them.
Also, I loved the books you could fill and flick through in GW and collect, maybe each area can have it’s own book/ledger where the locals have written requests or oddities they found, you pick up the ledger and start to do all the requests gradually filling it.
Each page with a small story and screenshot/artwork so you can flick through it again sometime.
Small rewards for single (re)quests, good ones for completed books/ledgers.
Copleted ones get a gold rim and can be stored in a bookcase/cabinet/home instance/collectible tab or whatever to read through whenever you like (like in gw1).
As the game grows they can even add more volumes to already existing area’s ever expanding the library of the world!
