How is that different from what hardcore GvG enthusiasts do already?

We have WvW raids every day for 4~ hours…so do most GvG guilds.

Really? Odd i don’t see most of our GvG guilds doing daily 4 hour raids, maybe they didn’t get the memo.

When there is a will there is a way. I will search for a way after orbs come, I hope you all do as well. Come together as a community and share ideas when it hits. It will halt gvg for a little bit, but there will always be loopholes.

The most important thing is that we stay resilient for our beloved gametype.

20v20 is fun as hell, our nightly activity does not = good composition options yet. We’re workin’ on it though.

I forgot how fun it could be until we did the scrims. Anyway, heres to hoping we can bring the same entertainment in 20’s as 15’s soon.

You never played GW1, I played both, yes I’m serious.

If I’d lose with PvP builds because some of them doesn’t spam AoEs fast enough, then you agree that WvW is a non-coordinated PvE spamfest.

There is a place for brawler builds in gw2gvg, it’s on the player- not the class.
You have to have a backbone of support (in your group composition) but after you figure that out a good player can run anything as long as it is run correctly.

Yeah theres 1 spam in the frontline but you’re watching the wrong videos if you think that is all it is.

This is why the videos we release are going to include voice comms/other perspectives for people to see the behind the scenes fight that goes on in the background so people understand that the surface show of heavies isn’t the only (or smart) focus of the fight.

We try to get away with the smallest frontline we can in this deathmatch play while still keeping it as a factor the other team has to deal with.

I think watching videos with voice comms gives you a better idea of the pace/focus difference of WvWGvG and ZvZ- but thats just me

Sorry about the music for those who dislike it.
The point is, this is much different pace than zvz at 15v15 deathmatch. Auto cleave doesnt work when there are thieves countering your waterfield providers.

Honestly I wish more spvpers would get involved in this scene, with more individual skill- you can do more risky compositions and it pays off. Our composition sounds absolutely stupid with how many glass we ran this fight, but I am proud to say our glass cannons are extremely focused and can pull it off. One wrong step and that hammer cleave kills us.
The better your small scale = the better your large scale, assemble the crew, join the deathmatch! Play risky and bring fresh ideas to the mix up!
Show me a 15v15 made up of 3 top tPvP teams in voice comms, I would love to deathmatch with a group like that. Of COURSE the frontline/ele builds are supporty, but the selfish ones are also necessity for focus fire.

No one likes to mention that we gkicked the thief that was doing it, or that people attacked EP afterwards. Constant targets on EP without exploring 2 sides of situation. That’s all I’m going to say here. Forum flaming go!..but the only ones listening are the same type that believe mainstream news without googling.

So, in regards to GvG and openfield, I don’t see a lot of “rampant speculation” going on. If nothing else, you chose your words poorly. The complaints about this new system potentially killing the GvG scene is entirely grounded.

This forum and this topic in particular are about WvW. WvW is about sieging and controlling objectives and about open field combat. All our changes are with that totality in mind and will continue to be.

Then I will encourage you to reconsider your focus in regards to WvW because the only thing that has kept it alive for a majority of guilds, despite anything and everything you do to ruin the mechanics, is the attempts by guilds and their members to organize open-field combat and GvG.

If you’re honestly trying to look at what you could do to keep players hooked and interested in your game, you need to start realizing the potential that Guild vs. Guild has, and stop worrying about your silly siege mastery additions and wxp.

WvW isn’t about the karma train and PvE experience anymore. A lot of us are PvPers. We want to fight against heavy odds, and test our mettle in a fair, organized fight. We don’t all look at the map and think of how we can utilize siege for effective objective capture, we’re looking at how we can use the terrain to our advantage in a combat situation.

The level of neglect for the guild system has been vast since launch, and now you’ve suggested to me that you want to continue to encourage karma training, and not open-field combat and GvG, where you can actually shine as a guild and become recognized.

There are other games releasing, and you still have the opportunity to drive your playerbase away.

Don’t read this comment as me trying to complain at you. Criticize? Maybe, but mostly I’m trying to warn you. Maybe Open-field combat and GvG wasn’t your intention for what WvW would become, but that’s how the scene has evolved, and I’m being honest when I tell you that you should try to evolve with it, or provide us with another medium; an actual GvG arena.

However, I highly doubt we will see any kind of GvG format within the next two years, since you can’t even bother to fix how the Guild Message of the Day is edited, which is why I’m encouraging you to consider how your WvW changes will impact this level of play.

If you really don’t believe me about WvW guilds and GvG/Open-field combat. I’m on the Tarnished Coast server, the Unofficial RP server and a heavy PvE server. Our WvW guilds are very fight-centric. Even all of our PUG Lords love open-field. Guilds such as EP, TSL, RE, ZN, CERN, and KH all GvG, and all of these guilds and others are more interested in finding fights on maps than actually taking objectives.

…and its not like WvW guilds who GvG in a GvG system will be in GvG matches 24/7. They need places to practice blob busting- and WvW can satisfy that even with the GvG system implemented.

If you want to create an E-Sport- this is how it starts. With crews from all over the world, from the few pioneers to the now 80+ active crews.

Looks like the GvG site just needs a revamp, split it up into 10v10, 15v15 and 20v20. Maybe this way guilds like AoN will actually get GvG’s accepted if they were ranked 1 in 10v10 by other guilds who wanted the top spot.

A lot of us would like a real gvg system implemented, and no one denies that it hurts PPT.

Consider what your PPT would be like without those guilds that participate in GvG being on your server in the first place. Most of the gain is done by those coordinated guilds.

You continuously post negatively about what a lot of people are playing this game solely for now days. What do you expect will come from your posts? Do you think ANet will enforce something against what keeps a high percentage of WvW guilded players interested in the game?

Please be more considerate of others interests. Very low percentage of players still care about score tally considering these week long match formats depend on coverage or insomnia.

Im watching TW vs RE and i cant beleive i overlooked this.. im a disgrace as host.. rly.. I remember reporting this with just a score to work with, but didnt go back on it huge mistake!! Incredibly high quality, half the match so far and im seeing the best counter thief ive seen so far in NA, amongst other interesting stuff… wow

Still not completely sure on the whole battle plan, but seems to involve the use of counter periphery. The actual Agg vs EP or a full explanation would be awesome tho o/

Well… to be honest it comes from playing starcraft. If you let the other player use caster units on your backbone army, you certainly let him control the engagement.

The casters are the nervous system to the frontline body. So we aimed to shut down the nervous system so the frontline would be on a clock. Gotta kill those infestors man. Probably not as easy in 20v20 but we’ll figure it out.

But I am very proud of my little scumbag thieves, they begged me for the chance to do this. Everyone else did 100% their job as well. That 2nd fight was the best we’ve ever had.

also a very special thanks to NS and qT for the open field fights this/last week, without that opportunity to analyze ourselves things here may have happened differently.
Another thanks to the Mag guilds VR/DERP/PYRO for the fights these past weeks as well for the same reason.

We in Aggression are very excited by this along with our friends [NS]. Guilds in NA are rapidly progressing and it is really making happy to know that this is happening.

we’re still setting up our 20v20 comp, right now we have a good idea of what we want to run. We want to prove the viability of unorthodox class choices in gvg compensated by build/playstyles. A lot of thief hate and I think that maybe 15v15 allows more of the trolly class comps. As we clean our guild/train more we are moving into the 20v20 scene as well and figuring out original comps to run for that so that we can challenge 20v20 preferred guilds on that scale as well.

Even after tonight’s event, we will always keep in mind what it was like when we first started running around together. We will never forget where we came from and how far we have come.

What happened at that camp was originally just open fields moved to that area as far as I was told.. then the TSL/ZN group was doing 20.

Jericho told me to grab 30 when it was our turn, so we did.
Then TSL/ZN went to 20 again vs Agg, followed by us setting back up with 30 assuming that was what was going to happen again.

They pulled off and Jericho only had 20, so I assumed he was going to have his guild get back on him, and he assumed I was going to go down to 20.
After that all I know is that there was a lot of TC rushing in the fight, then we stopped.

…then we got facerolled while we stood there trying to figure out what was going on lol

Just miscommunication, I was still under the assumption that it was just arranged open fielding and not 20v20 scrims- other wise it would have been a lot more smooth. Error on my part, too much assumption.

And idk what the original intent was of this post nor do I really care- but I’m sure calling them out on official forums for not doing under 15v15 is going to get you no where.

[Agg] is an extremely well trained group of guys. They were our first GvG and they gave us an educational stomping.
We’ve been working nonstop on improving and even still it’s impressive the level they display.
EP has been waiting for a long time for another go with Agg, can’t wait for that official this week guys.

Shouldn’t you be encouraging them to make an arena to fit both sides of the issue’s interest? Or is it because you are afraid to lose a few hours every week to wvw guilds b/c there is gvg?

GvG is the only reason a lot of my guild members are still around, myself included.

Helps to fight the burn out. Look at TC MAG DB score. Its either we win like this, or get stomped like this.

I dont mind losing but as TC, we can only to lose in t1, which is just blobby lag fights 80% of the time… it isn’t fun.
